they’ve been doing aerial surveying since the 1940s, at least. go down to your local land tax office and ask to see the records. may also be available in the local library.

i think what you’ll find is that google is NOT showing you ‘satellite’ imaging all the way down to max res. that, instead, they have have integrated aerial survey photos when available.

for instance, i can never find any stretches of ocean that i can get any decent res on. i’ve never found a remote ( even ‘unoccupied’ ) island that i can get res on.

if you conjecture that higher res sat stuff is all Mil-Int and not released to public … then aerial overflight integration makes perfect sense.

this is not to say that certain billionaires or .govs are NOT requiring google to make specific information exclusions. but i think it’s a better explanation for much of what you’re seeing.

Eh, i have a spare set of quality gaskets, head bolts, water pump, and a spare head ready to fit laying around. So might as well pull the head and the sump and see for myself.
Tough if the block’s fucked im prolly going to end up saying feck it and drop in a 2.5NA. Guess i’ll have work to do tomorrow.

actually, personally, I disagree with that, if the head gasket is gone, you *are* going to pop the head, so do it, no compression or leak down test can even begin to compare to direct access.

prace bets now

1/ citrus wash your coolant channels because they are blocked
2/ head is warped and needs skimming
3/ block is warped (machines while the casting was still green)
4/ head bolts no longer perform as they should
5/ cheap shit gasket, y’all can’t beat a hand / custom made copper sandwich gasket
6/ water pump is dying and or thermostats is naff

Meanwhile over here the old bitch (series rover) just blew a fucking headgasket.
So tomorrow i’ll be dicking around with a compression tester and a compressor in the garage trying to figure out if something else is going on too.
Might as well do that before i pull the head eh.
