I always want to ask these expats, what do you think will happen when the BIG (((banking))) crash comes and all your euro/´murcan funds dry up/evaporate.
When their OWN country suddenly turns to shit too because of “OUR” (((banksters))).
Who will they come for with their torches and pitchforks?

I’m doing the expat thing, and there are pluses and minuses. A big minus for many people is that foreign ownership of business or real estate is quite limited. There are ways around it, but they require a lot of money, a local wife, or paying off the right people. The expat jobs are also quite limited, and it’s very difficult to get a local job. Local jobs pay piss poor wages and give little rights to workers and no room for advancement.

Aside from a handful of places like Qatar etc, the good expat jobs are drying up. Even expat hubs like HK are no longer what they used to be, and being a westerner is no longer so sought after since there are millions of smart Koreans, Japanese, and Chinese who are often willing to work for less and learn to speak the local tongue. I have a handful of friends making good money in China teaching English, but as the Anglo cultures wane in global influence, that too will subside.

It is better to make your income online if you can. But a lot of online income seems to revolve around repackaging a bunch of nothing in the form of endless marketing. Affiliate marketing, SEO marketing, vlogging, copywriter marketing, youtube marketing. Who knows how long it will last.

If you end up marrying a local, it may be a way to open up more opportunities. Customer service is usually atrocious in a lot of SEA, and competition and barriers to entry are lower. The Chinese have capitalized on this for hundreds of years across the region, but there’s still plenty of room. But dealing with local politicians and bureaucrats can bring about its own set of issues.

While there are challenges, it’s still a fantastic option for some people. The cost of living is very low, and it doesn’t cost much to live like a king. Many average guys can maintain their own effective open harems if they want, and the quality of women (at least looks wise, but also attitude) is better than the west. Best of all, you don’t have people throwing their sanctimonious snark and bullshit politics in your face, and most people are friendly and lovely most of the time.

Oh he fucking nailed it, he and me, lots of common experiences, and you can say the same shit about ALL the arabs and ALL the blacks in africa, not just the ice cream factory story or the toyota story, I could tell a million of them.

Expat to where? That’s the question, and it is a logistical question, north west or north east cost of australia is two places i’d go, but do they want me, and by the time I get there, what do I have to show for it?
