Thank you for that T. I used to have a copy of his writings among my books – sadly, one of many thinks lost like autumn leaves as one travels :-)
And how right he is. For not only does the traitor “appear not a traitor” making it hard to spot his works, he makes it hard to spot who he is, and what he is doing.

Musing on Biden’s stumble on the stairs, I realise I am actually sorry for the current crop of journos and satirists. No, really.
When Gerry Ford swan-dived down Air Force 1 stairs in 1975, comedians such as Chevy Chase wrangled a whole career mocking lampooning and skewing Ford.
There are twitterati and “influencers” whose parents were barely zygotes when Ford fell, 45 years ago.
Today’s trendies barely know who Ford was, but they know (and enjoy) a good pile-on, so they readily join in the mockery of something that happened, in what to them is “ancient” history … (……… you’d have to be a “boomer” , or older to really remember the incident.)

I have forgotten his date of death. And I wonder if anyone has a photo of him?? I like to keep my departed ones close in heart.

In January 21, ioan informed a number of us that he was preparing for chemotherapy. Around early February he disappeared off the radar. An acquaintance of his, a fellow Romanian, who was in telephone contact with him became concerned after his calls and messages remained unanswered, and contacted the hospital in Hungary where Ioan had been admitted. He then informed us of his passing as learnt from the hospital. Causes of death were vague. We have no objective confirmation at this stage.

I think the impulse toward poetry is universal, ie; it’s attempting to tap into another language where people are open to another way of seeing the world, a way that’s different to their usual way of seeing. Good poetry should disarm the ego and take it out of its usual context for a moment, at least, but it can also do a lot more. Please note: on the one hand, Putin called the national republics of the USSR ” quasi-state entities.” That is, he clearly indicated that they did not have any independence.
But on the other hand, the head of Russia recognised the existing rules of the game. Within the framework of which the republics formed during the collapse of the USSR had a chance to turn from quasi-States into real sovereign countries.
However, by recognising the existing rules, Putin has clearly marked a “red line”where our neighbours will not hesitate to change these rules.
Such a feature is the use of territories obtained from the Soviet government in order to harm the cursed Muscovites.
As long as the Eurocrats received at least 20 percent sane, Russia negotiated with them, paid for the lease of Sevastopol for use as a naval base, and adhered to the rest of the previously concluded agreements.
But as soon as Kiev lost its remaining sanity, deciding to stage a genocide of Crimeans, and give Sevastopol to the US Navy base, Moscow instantly corrected the situation. No Dimitar. I’ve never followed the Harp at all, and the chords in this after the intro section are really Irish I think. They sound that way to me.
We are more for singing, you see. The Welsh Harp – the big one that is – was, of course a major part of our musical culture, but not so much any more. So much Cymraeg music has been written and set for orchestra and chorus, that I think apart from a few devotees, little of the Harp remains.
It’s more popular among the Gaels of Ireland I think, who still use it a great deal, especially to dance to.
However I note this track is called “Renaissance” so maybe there is move to resurrect it among the Cymraeg, which would be a good thing.

I had a bit of a struggle trying to write that poem ( I bet you wrote your reply with no problem at all :-) ). It may have been because I kept thinking of the toll of a funeral bell – or a slow drum for an execution – so I just couldn’t get any sense of rhythm I have to laugh though – I’ve got the cheek to think it should be easy ! The first one was a lot easier.
I understand… everyone will be different. There’s a unique challenge to every poem one attempts to write. There’s a point where you think, I’m over the tipping-point, I have a poem… and even then it can slip away. One of the best rewards is not being able to see the end until the end, and it’s an end you’re really satisfied with!

I see this sort of thing all the time here – that’s why I like the cafe – I do feel I have a connection with some of the visitors. Funny, I was thinking of writing the poem for a day before I tried to write it – so that phrase was on my mind at the same time. On some level , there is no separation.
I think this is not a mistake Sand. These entities are creatures of the night. Their time is coming to an end but it will be a shake up for everyone. New energies are coming into the world. I think you could be right. I had written the Dylan Thomas quote, on a piece of paper, so I would remember to use it, then I wrote it again in the poem. I retrieved these papers from the salvage bin. Each time I was thinking ‘ light ‘ / as in the quote, but each time I wrote night. I also wrote night when I posted it.. Now it’s been pointed out I think night fits better n this poem – but I can’t take any credit for that – I didn’t know I was doing it ! :-)
Sand, that took a bit of time to sink in, as quickening is an earlier English term I recall, to quicken was used in the sense of new life, as ferment, a new beginning, and I have a vague idea I know this partly from the writer of Precious Bane, a marvellous book, by Mary Webb. I actually got the idea from a journalist I heard speaking about the quickening, in terms of events gathering momentum leading to an epoch ending change, which comes as a surprise but which has been building over time. ( I can’t remember who it was, sorry ). There is also a meaning connected with birth – as in the start of life / movement in the womb, and also spiritual growth.
Of course, most people know the word from the Highlander films – I definitely wasn’t thinking of heads being cut off ! :-) I haven’t heard of that book – I’ll look it up – thanks.

There is a video circulating on Twitter of a column of tanks (they look like T72 tanks) on a road “apprently” heading towards Horlivka, Donetsk.
They are marked and numbered so someone who knows about tanks should be able to identify who they belong to etc.
I have no way of checking if this video real, but it is beginning to be picked up by some bloggers such as the HalTurner radio show.
This could be a big deal if true.
