I have 47 emus, 7 alpacas and 2 dozen miniature cows….regular size but their legs are only 2 feet long. Fat and sassy. They’re rescues. I don’t kill or eat them. The emu eggs I sell. Either for eating or dremel artwork on the outside, we’re talking Tiffany quality here. I spend hundreds of hours on them. I have my Alhambra series too.

Remember at the beginning of December I said to hang onto the hats as plans are rolling out heavily now and things are going to come to fruition. Just my feeling, but with the new meeting that Biden wants with Putin, there is something in the works there. The US is going to be put in its place, militarily (I hope not kinetically), economically, and socially and will be asked/compelled to pay the price for its excesses.

I suggest a Collective Café prayer send out for de-escalation of global tensions and letting go of all personal issues for the good of humanity.
Sending out prayers such as the one you’ve suggested could well result in the opposite due to a law of life known as ‘the Law of Reversed Effect’. Think about this, such petitions are in effect telling God what to do. Are we really that arrogant? If God has allowed such a situation to develop, then there must be a reason why it has developed, which in turn implies that the situation at any given point, though volatile, is dynamic and in a state of evolution.
I submit that the Creator knows exactly what is occurring with the human race at any given point and that the situation ‘is in hand’. What we can do however, is work on becoming a purer and more effective vehicle for the Holy Spirit as individuals and declare ourselves as willing vessels for Divine Will. This does not risk railroading our good intentions due to ignorance. We as a race have created the mess we’re in and can only be truly effective by rising above our limited understanding of apparent events and approach the problem from ‘outside the arena’.
Believe it or not, at the end of the day, it’s the individual that counts, not the masses as per the saying, “a million drunks can’t be wrong”. Good intentions do not automatically lead to good outcomes, and unfortunately ignorance
is no excuse. Not in a court of law, nor insofar as the Lords of Karma are concerned.

My words referred really to the tensions, and underlying sense of division, not only a current in the world, but has manifest here also. To deny this would be dishonest, and deeply appreciated are the efforts to move on.
Freedom of the individual is the greatest, God given right, but pride, personal ambition, delusion are something that can beset anyone, resulting in the inability to be humble, to accept defeat in a particular situation, however small, to want tings to appear positive and successful.
What is this individual freedom, this self determining identity, my ID?
To be united, that is also a prayer. The gift of individual freedom makes unity a challenge! A collective prayer in this sense could mean acceptance of the divine right to be united !

What I have to say is horrible. And it reflects on the world as it is.

I hear you Amarynth and i do understand your suspicions but i know this is a genuine place and a genuine cause, as my girlfriend visits the school regularly and she sees the articles that i sent and the happy faces when the kids receive something from the world outside. It proves to them that they are not completely forgotten and abandoned. i send all packets as ‘signed-for’ and none have ‘disappeared’ into the wrong hands. Indeed, the reality that the postal system there is an honest operation, is almost difficult to believe…considering all the other stuff happening there…( = low expectations but high performance)
But i can spend a lot of pages describing the horror stories of British couriers who ‘lost’ heavy consignments or crushed articles and never gave any compensation over the years…( = high expectations but low performance)…
I have had similar experiences with the borderlands of Russia. Also a difficult one when someone I know applied for a visa – UK science/culture seminar, and it was refused. After weeks of waiting to hear, the denial was a
terrible shock, horrible indeed.
Also I have had good experiences in other countries with postal systems from the UK. So far, things are holding together, but for how long…. Not with container’s / product availabilities, that is another story. Buy now and stock up up while/if you can.

Gleaming through the comments on Russian-language articles discussing European gas prices, sanctions, Nord Stream 2, etc., there are voices that wish for gas to be more expensive (some want it to be $2k per dam^2 (1000 m^2), others want it to be $5k).
Earlier I raised a question as to why rising prices are something to be proud of, and IIRC one of you implied that it brings greater profits.
Not a bad explanation in of itself, if true, but, compared to the current (as of this writing) price of $1.7k per dam^2, how much do other providers’ gases cost? At what point does the difference disappear such that Russian gas becomes more expensive than the USA’s “freedom gas”? (How) will the average Russian citizen be affected by the prices? And what further details am I missing?

I am a citizen of the United States of America living in Orange County in southern California.
