A hale and hearty breakfast, put some blueberries in the pancake mix, a Sunday ritual in these parts, adds some antioxidants to the decadence…..a dallop of fresh butter, swimming in copious amounts of maple syrup…… A1C be damned.

Our pancakes are like the Russian blini – just a tad thicker than French crepes. We fill them with a big range of fillings, sweet or savory salty, soft cheese, ground meat, smoked fish, sour cream, jam, honey, fruit and fold them into a triangle. Sometimes with a sprinkle of just a little sugar and cinnamon and roll them up with a squeeze of lemon or lime over the top.
Two pancake pans nicely hot on the stove, a container that pours the mix easily, a little oil to keep the pans oiled and you pour, at the right time shake the pan to loosen the pancake and flip ’em in the air. You gotta know how to flip ’em and work quickly with the two pans. Before too long, 40 hot pancakes are piled up, ready for fillings.

I once spent what must have been weeks just to check out all of the world’s pancakes. It truly beats war.
These tales of pancakes remind me of a well-known Russian phrase.
Первый блин всегда комом – literally means ‘the first pancake is always a lump’ and reminds us not to expect the first attempt to be successful.
Historically, the phrase has a couple of other meanings.
1. It had more to do with bears than with cooking. The ancient Slavic tribes honoured the bear God ancestors and celebrated the arrival of spring with a fest called Komoeditsa (modern day Maslenitsa). People cooked blini and left them in the forest to entice the bears out of their winter sleep.
2. In Orthodox belief, the first pancake was eaten in remembrance of the deceased relatives. It was supposed to get stuck in your throat, tightened by emotions. So actually it was a sort of a lump, wasn’t it?
So adding some food for thought to the blini, pancakes, crepe discussion. Every nation has its own version.
Soft cream cheese with caviar xmas present from a Russian friend in Germany is quite a nice mix. Gotta be decadent once year .

Here are a few odds and ends I’ve been mulling over:
1.We hear a lot about which way will Germany go,and about how important Germany is to Russia. Here are a few statistics on Germany’s economy.
A. The latest figures I’ve seen are from 2020,but that should be close to today’s to count. Germany exported $119.20B to the US and only imported $78.40B in return. Giving Germany a nice profit there.
B. German exports to China were $110.37B,pretty close in amount to their US exports making China their 2nd largest export market. While Germany imported goods worth $134.92B from China making China the largest exporter of goods to Germany.
C. Germany exported goods worth $27.00B to Russia making Russia 14th on the list of countries for German exports. While she imported only $17.82B in goods from Russia.Making Russia 16th among countries Germany took imports from. Whether these figures include energy imports I’m not sure about. But even so,the trade between the two is not of amounts that the cut off of which would be catastrophic.

2. There is a lot of talk about whether Russia has the forces to liberate Ukraine if they have to move in. Well there is no real way to know that until they do it,so I can’t be sure. But I do believe we can look at other events as a guide.
A. Russia is said to have about,give or take,100,000 troops ready to move in if needed. And has secure,nearby resupply lines. In the US invasion of Iraq the US had 150,000 US and 23,000 troops from other countries for the invasion. And the resupply lines were anything but close by.

B. The Ukrainians hope to get massive popular support against the Russian troops. But my own thinking is that except for the diehard neo-nazis and Bandera nationalists,that wouldn’t happen. In many places the Russians would be seen as liberators,and in others just accepted as occupiers. Just as in nazi Germany as soon as the defeat came most people will want to get back to a normal life.And thousands of people will be trying to replace the “maidan” government people with themselves. The Russians and Ukrainians are one people,divided by criminals and the majority of both know that.This entire thing is a form of an inter “Rus” civil war.
Ba. Iraq on the other hand was a long drawn out war that lasted for years (though the US invasion itself was completed within a month’s time) and pitted Sunni against Shia,against Kurd,with a few other minorities thrown in the mix. And all of them either fighting against or allied with the US and other Western troops.
C. A Russian liberation of Ukraine would be over in weeks.And a new sovereign pro-Russian government installed within days. The bulk of the surviving Ukrainian military would almost certainly rally to the new government,and joined with the Donbas forces eliminate any few Neo-nazi/Bandera diehards left. Russian troops would be able to fully withdraw in a relatively short time period. Leaving a pro-Russian government and security apparatus behind them.

D. There is little doubt that the West will strike Russia with sanctions “from hell” as they threatened. But they will end up doing that anyway no matter what Russia does. And the liberation of Ukraine will end the running bloody sore on Russia’s Southwestern border.And improve the overall security arrangement for the Russian Federation (and actually China as well).
Ukraine loudly protests at Germanic refusal to authorise its own arms supplies to it….now would USA and likeminded EU members pressurise Germany to change its mind….strange how the German Admiral now sacked resigned speaks common sense on the pointlessness of all this….probably following the general sense of the German government policy…how ironic they dare not openly say that really ?
Re C German-Russian trade.
Prior to 2014 and the US demand for sanction sanction sanction sanction, it was billions more.
Don’t have numbers to hand, but I think Germany has lost close to $100b in trade with Russia.
Russia now increasingly self sufficient, so that trade is not coming back.
As the German business / industry now realise.
Hence the tepid enthusiasm right now for more sanctions on Russia re this latest.
I remember Angela Merkel addressing the German population on TV after the Maidan coup and stating that German industry was going to lose $400bn in revenues from cutting ties to Russia through US imposed sanctions and everyone would just have to tolerate this. I had many West German friend at the time who supported Merkel and said that “tightening their belts was a worthwhile endeavour if they could assist in toppling the Russian regime” These same friends were highly enthusiastic about helping the 1 million Syrian takfiri families enter Germany…
It is the break up of nato, denialist are the last to admit, and Germany is the key to the break up, you have about a week to decide which side your coin is going to fall, and about a month to debate it.

Martin Armstrong posted today that there might have been a US cargo plane shot down that had just delivered ammo to the Ukraine. It flew over Russian airspace for a little while. Has anyone else gotten wind of this?

For what its worth,Ive been watching all of these affairs of war and peace most of my lifetime.
Now as I write the “Russian aggression” and Anglozionist fear mongering and threats have slowly crept up to the top of the MSM news cycle this past few weeks since the negotiations, which have basically failed at the outset.
Dangerous times indeed and even more so because the bullshit is believed by reasonable people until they are informed of the reality and facts since before we were born.If one can successfully point out all of these matters to one who is prepared to listen,I have seen big changes there in those reasonable ones, my peers.
However now we are hearing the shrieks and sirens ramping up for the desperately needed war in Ukraine,by ignorant pompous assholes who read from the script supplied from Washington via Brussels,here in Ireland.
Amongst the people though,things are not so clearcut because Perfidious Albion is well known here and known to be involved deeply as shown on the MSM news of videos from Kiev airport of anti tank missiles being unloaded.
People will make up their own minds when they see these moves.

A question for the US Americans among us. Are the supermarket shelves really really as empty as being reported? Or is it spot shortages, like no peanut butter today or something?
How much of this is hype and how much not? Prices, we see that.
Where we live, way down south of y’all, arguably with a very local economy, we have no shortages or crazy price increases. Yet, buying some product that is a little different from the rest, example a medical product or physiotherapy product, there is no stock in the normal Amazon or our local similar network. Yet, we can get it from any of the Chinese big producers.
Here in central Texas very little empty shelves, remedied quickly, but prices are frightfully runaway. these grocers are very competitive.So deduce their costs are causitive. There must also be considered consumers are Prepping against shortages and inflation, storing canned goods, etc.
In spite of serious damage, i.e. success for the great scam, I think the wheels are coming off for these scum. See updates re Riener Fullmich, M. Choosudovsky(sp?) May they rot, and we get our world back.

Here on the West coast I have actually been asking and it is spotty so they say. Personally have not noticed but try and buy locally grown foods. The prices are way up!
No shortages at all in St. Louis, Mo. Nothing has changed. It’s bullshit.
Burst into one of the stores around here and occasionally the isle so looks empty you cant even find where your product was.
In northern California the only real shortage is cat food. They say it’s because the aluminum for the cans are in short supply. I think it’s because the small cans are easy to steal. I also think that money is so short that people are eating it like they did in Florida in the late 70s. Train robberies, store invasions. Most people have very little money. Biden’s friends in the prison industry are probably thrilled. The prices have gone up, just as I suspected they would prior to Biden’s election. I know what happens to gas and food prices whenever these grifters get in office. In the US, they will tell you that there is a temporary price hike or shortage due to a certain condition, but prices never go down. It’s not bad enough that the pot growers are growing food yet.
Dang well will once their product cant be found in the store, then its a game of how long can you keep it before it spoils.
Seems ruble and russian markets under a lot of pressure too..

All normal here today in coastal N.E. Mass. The supermarket was well stocked, and very busy. Prices were stable. Nothing unusual.
I can add something here as i have just done a study into the supply chain disruptions in North America. The issue started with a shortage of truck drivers willing to get vaccinations for Covid and then not being allowed to work, then the truck drivers not being enthusiastic to work on assignments where they would need to travel longer distances. The shortage of trucks mean that the transfer of raw bauxite and iron as well as processed scrap alu and steel could not be transported to the rolling mills…so the can fillers lost business…but the same shortages were also affecting the glass bottle and plastic preform makers…this was on the back of a general downturn in demand of bottles and cans due to the closure of Horeca outlets.
Recovery has been patchy and resulting in some rationing in some supermarkets when demand outstripped the reduced supply. When i discovered was that there was less panic buying in the colder regions (as most people were already well up with hoarding supplies) but there was some sudden panic buying in California and Florida (as most people generally dont worry too much about agricultural supplies)…so the panic buying also added to the crisis…most shortages of packaging supplies occurred in Q4…but the situation is stabilising now…
The labor market for truck drivers in the US and in Europe became tight several years before Covid hit. One of my friends drives a big rig.
Have you seen the price of diesel, many trucks got parked. Many are being parked….prices here have almost tripled per litre.

Yemeni armed forces have launched massive missile and drone strikes against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, only a week after they carried out a series of attacks against the UAE in retaliation for its involvement in the devastating Saudi-led war on Yemen.
The spokesman for Yemeni armed forces confirmed the attacks, saying Yemeni troops carried out a large-scale operation, dubbed Yemen Hurricane II, against sensitive targets deep inside the UAE and Saudi Arabia, using domestically-developed ballistic missiles and combat drones.
Speaking at a press conference in the capital Sana’a on Monday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that Yemeni troops and their allies pounded al-Dhafra Air Base, located approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) south of Abu Dhabi, as well as other designated sites on the outskirts of the Emirati capital with a number of Zulfiqar ballistic missiles.
Saree noted that important targets in Dubai were struck with indigenous long-endurance Sammad-3 (Invincible-3) unmanned aerial vehicles.
The UAE defense ministry, in a statement published on the official Emirates News Agency WAM, had claimed its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by Yemeni forces early on Monday.
“The remnants of the intercepted ballistic missiles fell in separate areas around Abu Dhabi,” the ministry had \added, noting that it was taking the necessary protective measures against such attacks.

Yemeni official vows that the country will keep its counteroffensives until its complete liberation from a Saudi-led invasion and siege.
The senior Yemeni military official went on to say that the Yemeni armed forces also used squadrons of Sammad-1 and Qasef-2K (Striker-2K) combat drones to hit a number of military camps in Sharurah town of Saudi Arabia’s southern region of Najran.
“Additionally, a number of vital targets and strategic sites in [the kingdom’s] Jizan and Asir regions were targeted with several ballistic missiles,” Saree said, emphasizing that the designated locations were hit with high precision missiles.
“Yemeni Armed Forces are fully prepared to ramp up their operations in case the enemy raises the ante,” he warned, adding, “We renew our advice to foreign companies and investors in the UAE to leave the country as it has become unsafe.”
“The UAE will be constantly targeted as long as it continues its aggression and siege against the Yemeni nation,” the spokesman for Yemeni armed forces asserted.
Sabereen News, a Telegram news channel associated with Iraqi anti-terror Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), released the purported video footage of the Yemeni retaliatory missile strike against Abu Dhabi.
It said four large explosions were heard at the time of the attack, and sirens went off shortly afterward.
According to Sabereen News, the retaliatory Yemeni missile strike has brought air traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport to a halt.
US citizens warned
Later on Monday, the US embassy and consulate in the UAE advised American citizens in the Persian Gulf country to “maintain a high level of security awareness.”
Such statements are rare, for the UAE is largely viewed as a safe place in the Middle East, but the US Embassy issued a similar security alert last week when Abu Dhabi was targeted by the Yemeni forces.
Separately, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said late on Sunday that a ballistic missile, fired by Yemeni armed forces, had fallen in the kingdom’s southern region of Jizan, injuring two foreigners and damaging workshops and vehicles in an industrial area.
The Saudi-led coalition asserted in a statement that it had intercepted and destroyed two drones that had flown from the northern Yemeni province of Jawf.
Riyadh has lately ramped up its airstrikes against various regions across Yemen.
At least 90 people were killed when a Saudi strike hit a detention center in the northern province of Sa’ada on Friday, and nearly two dozen were killed in the capital of Sana’a in an operation on Tuesday.
On Friday night, the spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces called on foreign companies to pull out of the UAE following a series of retaliatory strikes against the Persian Gulf country.
“In the aftermath of the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition of aggression against Yemeni people, we advise foreign companies in the Emirates to leave because they have invested in an unsafe country,” Yahya Saree said in a statement posted on his Twitter page on Friday night.
He added, “The UAE would grow more insecure as long as its rulers continue their military aggression against Yemen.”

In principle, whatever paints the US, geographically surrounded by two whole oceans, as the generally ‘morally superior’ or more innocent side of the Atlantic won’t get a cent of support from me. The key word is “news”. There is no news in US that reflects opinions of US people. All forms of news are propaganda outlets for the owners. The lightening quick breakdown in the narrative of ‘Russian aggression in the Ukraine’ over the last few days has given us a very interesting glimpse behind Oz’s curtain. Two camps have become apparent: on the one side the Anglo 5 Eyes, and on the other side the Europeans and the Ukrainians.
I’m not sure if the older Alex is correct in his assumption yesterday that this is a pragmatic response from the Europeans and Ukrainians to not have a war destroy their gas and existence, respectively. Neither of their elite are rational nor have their peoples interests in their calculations. It may be about timing and reining in the overheating Anglos.
I remember a principle in moving to a new home. You first carry yourself the most important or sensitive items and then allow the movers to transport the the less valuable remainder. For the experienced nomad, it is a practiced choreography.
Wouldn’t the Parasite move from the West to the Holy Land in similar fashion? It would initially translocate its most capable human assets, to acclimatize and establish them in their new home. Accordingly, there would be a market decline in leadership, capability and intelligence in the prior Anglo base.

As much as it won’t happen, I’d love to see Russia reveal the specific content of these documents as I have a strong suspicion that it would go a long way to completely undermining whatever influence the US has left on the world stage.

I have no idea about what is in the response the US delivered. Since they don’t want the Russians to publish the response,that seems to say they have make some concessions and don’t want the world to know that. But regardless of all that.They will never honor any concessions they “say” they will make.And as far as signing Treaties as Russia want’s,I doubt that.But even if they did,for Treaties to be fully legal under US law the Congress has to approve them.And there is no way at all they will do that. Obama didn’t even send the Iran Nuclear Treaty to Congress because he knew they’d reject it and that would make him look bad.That is the same reason they won’t sign these Treaties.So if Russia “really” does expect that from the US,they will be disappointed there.But I doubt they truly do expect that.

It’s fairly clear that the US/NATO want to make Russia look weak by dictating what they do militarily within their own borders.
It appears they want Russia to publicly admit to this concession (reducing or eliminating the completely legitimate military ‘buildup’ near the Ukrainian border).
I don’t see Russia allowing the US/NATO to dictate what they do within their own borders, even if the US/NATO were to concede Ukraine’s ‘potential’ admission into NATO (which was never on the cards, at least not in the near future).
The US is playing a very stupid game here, a game they will not win, even if they do succeed in keeping the details secret.
They are actually that ridiculous that they are now trying to blame Russia for all the diplomatic evacuations that were obviously and specifically caused by the US/NATO fearmongering and other assorted stupidity.
