Respnse to Amarynth regarding truckers.
Russia through Wagner is constraining Western efforts to prevent the emergence of a world in which violation rather than the inviolability of national borders become the accepted norm. Youtube says Russian actors, more usually than not that means Wagner. Wagner is on a roll, truckers would be a good target. So in this case Russian actor involvement could be true especially within the context of the Wagner sweep.
This is Jesus brilliant-How do you surround a country without borders?
Russian civilisationalism is proving handy as President Vladimir Putin seeks to expand the imaginary boundaries of his Russian World, whose frontiers are defined by Russian speakers and adherents to Russian culture rather than international law and/or ethnicity.
This is not a friendly site but gives a good example of Russian civilisationalism which is lacking elsewhere. Wagner reeled in Crimea I doubt that little Wagners are not sitting on Zelensky’s shoulder fueling the emerging rifts with Biden. It was a destabilized government and street protests in Kyiv in early 2014 that led to Russian President Vladimir Putin making his move.
https://moderndiplomacy.eu/2022/01/20/putins-post-soviet-world-remains-a-work-in-progress-but-africa-already-looms/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagner_Group – everywhere and probably Russia’s most potent weapon and can be used without destroying the planet.
Mr. Putin’s disruptive and expansive nationalist ideology has underpinned his aggressive approach to Ukraine since 2014 with the annexation of Crimea and the stoking of insurgencies in the east of the country. It also underwrites this month’s brief intervention in Kazakhstan, even if it was in contrast to Ukraine at the invitation of the Kazakh government.
Mr. Putin’s nationalist push in territories that were once part of the Soviet Union may be par for the course even if it threatens to rupture relations between Russia and the West and potentially spark a war. It helps Russia compensate for the strategic depth it lost with the demise of communism in Europe and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
However, equally alarmingly, Mr. Putin appears to be putting building blocks in place that would justify expanding his Russian World in one form or another beyond the boundaries of the erstwhile Soviet Union.
In doing so, he demonstrates the utility of employing plausibly deniable mercenaries not only for military and geopolitical but also ideological purposes.
Standing first in line is the Central African Republic. A resource-rich but failed state that has seen its share of genocidal violence and is situated far from even the most expansive historical borders of the Russian empire, the republic could eventually qualify to be part of the Russian world, according to Mr. Putin’s linguistic and cultural criteria.
Small units of the Wagner Group, a private military company owned by one of Mr. Putin’s close associates, entered the Centra African Republic once departing French troops handed over to a United Nations peacekeeping force in 2016. Five years later, Wagner has rights to mine the country’s gold and diamond deposits.
Perhaps surprisingly, the Russian mercenary presence persuaded President Faustin-Archange Touadera that the African republic should embrace Russian culture.
As a result, university students have been obliged to follow Russian-language classes starting as undergraduates in their first year until their second year of post-graduate studies. The mandate followed the introduction of Russian in the republic’s secondary school curriculum in 2019.
Mr. Touadera is expected to ask Mr. Putin for Russian-language instructors during a forthcoming visit to Moscow to assist in the rollout.
Neighbouring Mali could be next in line to follow in Mr. Touadera’s footsteps.
Last month, units of the Wagner Group moved into the Sahel nation at the request of a government led by army generals who have engineered two coups in nine months. The generals face African and Western sanctions that could make incorporating what bits of the country they control into the Russian world an attractive proposition.
While it is unlikely that Mr. Putin would want to formally welcome sub-Saharan and Sahel states into his Russian world, it illustrates the pitfalls of a redefinition of internationally recognised borders as civilisational and fluid rather than national, fixed, and legally enshrined.
For now, African states do not fit Mr. Putin’s bill of one nation as applied to Ukraine or Belarus. However, using linguistics as a monkey wrench, he could, overtime or whenever convenient, claim them as part of the Russian world based on an acquired language and cultural affinity.
Mr. Putin’s definition of a Russian world further opens the door to a world in which the principle of might is right runs even more rampant with the removal of whatever flimsy guard rails existed.
To accommodate the notion of a Russian world, Russian leaders, going back more than a decade, have redefined Russian civilisation as multi-ethnic rather than ethically Russia.
The Central African Republic’s stress on Russian-language education constitutes the first indication in more than a decade that Mr. Putin and some of his foreign allies may expand the Russian world’s civilisational aspects beyond the erstwhile Soviet Union.
Some critics of Mr. Putin’s concept of a Russian world note that Western wars allegedly waged out of self-defense and concern for human rights were also about power and geopolitical advantage.
For example, pundit Peter Beinart notes that NATO-led wars in Serbia, Afghanistan, and Libya “also extended American power and smashed Russian allies at the point of a gun.”
The criticism doesn’t weaken the legitimacy of the US and Western rejection of Russian civilisationalism. However, it does undermine the United States’ ability to claim the moral high ground.
It further constrains Western efforts to prevent the emergence of a world in which violation rather than the inviolability of national borders become the accepted norm.
If Russian interventionism aims to change borders, US interventionism often sought to change regimes. That is one driver of vastly different perceptions of the US role in the world, including Russian distrust of the post-Soviet NATO drive into Eastern Europe and independent former Soviet states such as Ukraine.
“People with more experience of the dark side of American power—people whose families hail from Guatemala, Chile, Brazil, Haiti, or Mexico, where US guns have sabotaged democracy rather than defended it—might find it easier to understand Russian suspicions. But those Americans tend not to shape US policy towards places like Ukraine,” Mr. Beinart said.

“Wagner reeled in Crimea”
Wagner had no part on Crimea. It wasn’t even in existence in early 2014. Utkin and some of his men volunteered in Lugansk during the 2014 time of the North Wind.
It was just a few hundred operators in the Syrian time frame, early 2015.
Putin didn’t recognize it until 2016.
Now, its activities are closely controlled from the Kremlin. It is a substitute for direct Russian military boots on the ground in certain nations.
Your comment tends to over-exaggerate and dramatize Wagner.
The 2011 Arab Spring and the ensuing civil wars in Libya and Syria compelled Russia’s military-political leadership to reassess the role of irregular forces and non-state actors (as well as the principle of tactical and highly maneuverable groups) in so-called new-generation (“hybrid”) conflicts, triggering the creation of both Russian Special Operations Forces (SOF) and the founding of the Slavonic Corps Limited private military company (PMC).
Russia’s first attempt to use irregular formations/non-state actors in a non-linear conflict of the new type (both independently and in conjunction with regular military units) can be traced to the annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of instability in the Donbas region in 2014.
The transformation of poorly organized irregular formations lacking a clear-cut structure into the notorious Wagner Group PMC occurred following the outbreak of violent clashes in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, in late spring–early summer of 2014.
Ukraine became Russia’s “polygon” (training ground) for exploring the capabilities of PMCs in real-time conditions, eliminating the mistakes of the past and preparing PMCs for future missions in Syria.
During the 2014–2016 interim, several Russian PMCs operated in Ukraine. While some of them disappeared/became invisible, Wagner Group successfully went through the “natural selection” process and assumed a dominant role.
While in Ukraine, Wagner Group performed a number of diverse missions, ranging from frontal attacks on Ukrainian forces and urban fighting to intelligence gathering, information-psychological operations and sabotage/subversive operations against local actors, showcasing growing independence.
Military-patriotic training of youth (both in Russia and abroad) is yet another function performed by Russian PMCs (E.N.O.T. Corps) as a means to expand Russia’s version of “soft power” abroad.
The pool of candidates to join Wagner Group (and similar entities) is broad and not limited to former members of the military from Russia’s economically depressed regions. Other irregulars, such as (pseudo)Cossacks, members of various veteran organizations, or residents of Russian-occupied regions (Donbas, Crimea, South Ossetia and Abkhazia), should not be ignored.

@Lodestar
This is a history written in 2019 by the neocons.
You may think it’s authoritative. I don’t. I’m laughing.
Just want to get an opinion. At present my country Australia, our PM Scott Morrison is also assault. Johstone is under assault in UK as leader. J Biden also..
The 3 leaders of AUSKUS are all under threats of replacement at this time.. Replacements seem to be Dutton, Liz Truss and unknown for US.
Dutton and Truss seem to be less diplomatic and more kinetic in choices..
Would these moves be more like a 5 Eyes change?
Is this Metal Gear Solid 6 written by KONAMI?
You want to get all conspiracy theorist? Then BLM was backed (covertly) by Russia just like the Black Panther Party was backed (covertly) by the Soviet Union.
For the record, I cannot confirm or deny this. But it really did stir things up in both instances.
(In regards to the both I am replying to, you are seeing things that are not actually there)
That is why I say “Boycott English language”
If those anglos feel that learning Russian makes one under thumb of Russia then they must be feeling that learning English as a foreign language will make you slave to England and usa-that is what they hope for.
“Mr. Putin’s definition of a Russian world further opens the door to a world in which the principle of might is right runs even more rampant with the removal of whatever flimsy guard rails existed.”
You are miles away from V.V.Putin’s respect and sensibility, crucial in the relation to neigboring
tribes.
Lodestar, you could try posting this stuff on neocons incorporated or something. No, Mr Putin and all of his merry men are not leading the Canadian truckers and I don’t know where you found this stupidity, it remains stupidity and anti-Putin garbage.
If someone knows anything about Canadians and Canada, in particular about their ignorance and sometimes hostility towards Russia (due to over the top propaganda), they would know how ridiculous it sounds to bring Russia into the convoy discussion.
The convoy is about a good part of Canadian society being marginalized and fed up with the substitute drama teacher that is pretending to be a leader and his divisive policies, period (not to mention the overall mediocre political class up here).
A reporter from CBC mentioned potential Russian influence. She somehow did not mention that the convoy has raised more money (9+ million as of this morning) from more people in just a few days than the Liberals did in 3 whole months during the elections. This is the first real pushback we are seeing in Canada from the tyrannical overreach of our incompetent political class, and it is grass roots, blue collar and rural. Ottawa is a real zombified city, they will have their work cut out for them…

An interesting succinct piece on Blinken’s background:
https://sputniknews.com/20220130/ukraine-hungary-soros-and-cold-warriors–antony-blinkens-family-ties-1092623529.html
Adds more to his attitude on Ukraine and NATO.
I find it interesting how his great great grandfather is described as a Jewish Ukrainian émigré to the US – when that part of the world was the Russian Empire – the SSR of Ukraine came about in the early 20’s. So he is Russian on his father’s side and Hungarian on his mother’s. And there lie his links to Soros. His father was the Ambassador to Hungary between 1994 – 1997 – when NATO was being established and very involved. No wonder he won’t budge on Ukraine/NATO.
Its a family business.
Us vs. Them -The Global Revolution and shaft to the ‘great reset’
The beginning of the Global revolution has begun – albeit in Canada, indeed, in ernest. Hard to believe but as Canada appears to strongly support the Nazi traditions one could soon expect its ‘government-in-hiding’ (for want of a better term) to ask Ukraine for military assistance in supporting Canada against its Truckers. Trudeau appears to be safer from its ‘minority terrorist truckers’ in hiding some say somewhere in the Middle East – Israel aka ‘occupied Palestine’ (as Epstein’s house guest in Haifa???), never mind Covid nor the ‘rabid Covid jabs’ – if true – enough to sort the hoax of Fauci’s blessed home-made virus’s.
Western ‘governments’ made up of what ‘Them’ call themselves, ‘elite leadership’ are being sorely exposed globally for what they really are viz. totally corrupt and totally incompetent including, of course, the bumbling blockhead, know-nothing, Brandon and his cohorts of bolshevik left-overs and zionist ideologues.
One can only hope that more ‘trucker-types’ soon get into the act of revolution globally to ensure that the days of ‘Them’ are gone to be but a memory that stains the idea of humanity and democracy finally kicks in as a just and rightful system of social management with justice for all – even the dingbats. The USA of the West has shown the World how not to do it – and not to sub-contract your affairs to ideological ‘others’ so that the incumbent can have free-go at the peoples purse. Australian truckers are rumoured to join the revolution against the ‘tennis-fixers’ and buyers of US military nuclear garbage, etc.
Let all the ‘Them’ vassals all join in this great enlightenment and cast the WEF disease specialists and Great Resetters sit with in the prosecutors section of the Court Room to be judged by the Global ‘Us” for sedition, corruption and incompetence, etc., etc., etc.
Lock Them Up
And let us all, above all, all of humanity give thanks to the Gods for the Truckers of Canada.

Heretic,
I am praying alongside you. Err, are YOU, given that moniker?
However, I am a realist too. Westerners, especially in 5 eyes dominions, with possible exception of anarchy-inclined French, are neutered in utero. They are permitted to protest to their heart’s content and sing kumbaya too.
Do they have the Praetorian Guard, Jannisaries and other elite shock troops actively on their side? Can they breach secluded bunkers and DUMBs in order to activate lamp poles? Are such concepts and resolutions even in their woke Action Lists? Holding an XXL coffee mug in the bone-cracking Canadian cold and waving a flag or placard is not a revolution.. My mother lives in Ottawa and I know that city since 1992 – for them it is a weekend social event!
I dont know what they give to mothers or put in water supplies or mix in the school lunches, but it is Game Over by late teens.
Now bringing in a capable Cuban or non-Western Comandante offers possibilities.. but leadership is not enough. There is required a certain mindset, spine, psychological break with Stockholm Syndrome and convenience, etc etc. Not to mention a basic primeval sense of self-preservation.
None of this is in evidence yet.
Could they live without their morning drive-by Latte during the revolution? And their Play Station, PornHub, YouTube, Internet and God-forbid that biweekly paycheck or governmental subsidy?
My generations are doomed..
Legions of lemmings following other lemmings right off the cliff.
But be patient, after the ashes, history always offer rebirth and clean starts.
Liberty will eventually return, albeit a generation or two later, after current elites, Zionists and Khazarians are cauterized. And one senses millennial carpet baggers are packing these days.. maybe while searching underwater for sunk Galleons to loot they found their lost paradise Atlantis? The Parasite could move back there and leave us alone.
btw, thanks for this new descriptor of Oz: “the ‘tennis-fixers’ and buyers of US military nuclear garbage”
I will save it!
We gave the world Boycott, swords and pitch forks are not needed…….yes many provocateurs would prefer that, but the G20 cases are before the courts here, still raw for what provocateurs did to little old ladies, mothers and children.
The revolution has to start somewhere, non violent civil disobedience may well be

65 thousand truckers and an eighty mile trail on the highways and Canadian support with them all the way, whose ever seen anything like that, it’s visible even on the moon.. (must look good all white in a snow blizzard.) Never mind if Trudeau’s gone into self-isolation mode, he united the country before vanishing from sight. Not bad.
Since there are around 100,000 truck drivers in Canada, I find it very hard to believe that two-thirds of them are involved in the protest. I see just as many trucks working in my city and the Trans-Canada Highway still has the usual amount of commercial truck traffic as it usually has.
But lets do a little math… 65,000 trucks spaced every 100 feet on the highway, that’s about 70 feet between the trucks which would seem reasonable (maybe a little close at highway speeds.) So 65000*100/5280 = 1231 miles. So the protest convoy would be a solid line of trucks stretching between Calgary and Winnipeg.
I was not sure initially – maybe it started organically, but like color revolutions, the usual suspects may have piggybacked onto it. Seeing Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Trump (all members of the Light side of the [evil] Force) touting it confirmed suspicions. and if Coward is tossed under the bus, & mandates rolled back – so what? The damage is done, the products installed and uploaded in 84% of Canadians.
It has been a tremendous distraction and precautionary opening of the steam valve, especially for the active 30-60 demographic. The 10-30 demographic will fully enter the Metaverse this year, no worries there.

Watching Canada and Oz is fascinating, they beta-test everything there. We are in the interregnum, a Breads & Circuses to confuse during the last mile, as the trapdoors close. Up next, the sanitary bifurcation of the Internet, a virtual war with 24-7 war hysteria to result in enhanced and official Emergency powers, and a rollout of CBDCs..
Zone A is good to go.
CTV was reporting when the tail end of the convoy was entering Manitoba, the front end was entering Dryden, Ont……do your own math. It was long regardless, six trucks, six hundred, six million……people are pissed off (see: Party Gate, rules for us and rules for them, screw that). Obviously you are not Canadian enough to know what Cabin fever is….without shockdown lockdowns.
Cheers, M
respective geography for non Cdns; it takes almost 6 hrs to drive from border to border in Manitoba, Dryden is four hours east of the Mb. border. @100kph
The convoy from the west was not the only convoy also one from east coast one from southern ontario add them all together
What if there is a war and nobody came?
So, the US cannot talk Russia into ‘invading the Ukraine’, and they cannot get the Ukraine to shoot more despite all their new fancy weapons. And the whole narrative is falling apart and they are becoming bigger fools as time goes on. Time we start calling it the Great Ukraine Hoax.
They changed the song just yesterday. Get ready for the new hit of the week. It reads like this:
According to Cookies Nuland, the US will “impose swift and severe costs if Moscow rejects our offer of dialogue”.
Don’t anyone worry. For sure, no matter what, they will do something. If and If and If. Definitely fire and brimstone are on the way. So, I guess we will have this threat all over the western press this week. But I expect them to turn to China-bashing.
I think all in the galaxy are waiting for one thing.. something not requiring any Russian or Ukie suicide squad..
False Flag!
Lukashenko of Belarus went ballistic yesterday?
Mentioned war 36 times in a speech, and to erase Lithuania from the map, then emptied all his barracks.
And tonight has no moon at all?
And tomorrow is Chinese new year of the Tiger?

“I expect them to turn to China-bashing”
This is what disturbs me more than anything!
They are seriously overdue to switch to China.
But they have not!
And Olympics begins in 4 days.
Their usual BS media campaign should have started weeks ago.
They got so hung up on Russia, it is like they are glitching and cannot proceed.
The Matrix has frozen.
They put all the chips on attacking and separating Russia from Europe, they lost track of the plot.
Yet they are on a timeline.
What to do?
This makes them 1,000x more dangerous and loose cannons.
They are (1) limited and inadequate, (2) outta time, (3) on a strict timeline, (4) only know how to double down.
In these circumstances, they are predicted to go BIG.
Such a move they hope will reset all timelines and offer them a reprieve.
It is seriously scary, the whole world is holding its breath.
Maybe Tractor Farmer Luka had cause to empty his barracks and go psycho

Even neocon rags occasionally tell part of the Truth, like a broken clock gets it right twice a day. We do not have many sources to draw from. Even Liars provide clues, if you are sharp enough (and with strong enough nose) to sift through and to interpret their garbage. They have to reveal some truth; just ignore the inserted poison and lies.
We are in the age of Hybrid warfare.
Russians aren’t lounging around in their nuclear bunkers binging on Caspian Beluga caviar waiting to push the big button.
They will take every step it takes before it gets to that.
And look at their current effectiveness in Africa – how Borrell and the French are squealing, and nations such as Mali daring to kick out the French.
That proficiency and expertise didn’t come overnight.
When did it begin precisely? I do not know.
But they have experience now, so why couldn’t they have been active in Ukraine 2014?
Maybe they weren’t called Wagner then, but they formed the early source material.
I saw some disreputable sources which indicate, (1) Wagner is actually a franchise name, like NATO or Al Queda (sorry for bad examples), and appeared in use years before Crimean uprising. So that it was already in the terminology of folks. And undoubtedly embellished to add to the terrified imagination of mercenaries, terrorists with which they would deal. A force multiplier.
(2) its work actually started soon after 2011 “Arab Spring,” where Russia sent this silent wave, an Arab North Wind.. And this is consistent with rumors of other foreign auxiliaries on the good side fighting NATO in Syria early on, not just Iranians/Hezbollah. Chechen MPs weren’t the first, and their role was policing anyway. I agree with Meyssan that Syria was truly a World War, where everyone piled in.
This is where Russian speakers can help us settle the issue, by posting authentic Russian net material regarding PMCs, their evolution and utility in the hands of the Russian state and NGOs.
IMO you have to play dirty with the dirty.
Undoubtedly there is a dark side to our side too.
Like Texans patrolling the Donbass for the A team.
“All’s fair in Love and War” and all.
The Canadian Propaganda Agency of the government otherwise known as the CBC continues to take the population as fools. The latest is a video story on their web site captioned “Some Russian’s remain skeptical of the Putin’s plan to invade the Ukraine”. I couldn’t get past the first few seconds as they showed a line of tanks charging through a snow covered field.
I’m old enough to remember when they used to a respectable news sources. I like their local morning show on the radio here, so I have my clock radio set to wake me up to it. Every morning, the national news has an anti-Russian/pro-Ukrainian story. They used to alternate between anti-Russian and anti-Chinese, but lately it been Russia, Russia, Russia.
In the Russian stories on the web site that allow comments, there are only two types of comments: people who scoff at the idea the Canada can make any difference, and the people who call it out for the propaganda that it is. You never see a comment supporting the story. Maybe there is hope…
Bigsby
I can totally relate to that to what you’re saying. Used to do the same thing. Turned off the clock radio from the Canadian state sponsored propaganda arm for good after the Maidan. Would give up my cable TV as well, if not for the hockey broadcasts… We have to remember that the war we’ve been under for a long time is 80% informational warfare. I am sensing that more and more people are starting to see through all the bs.
Interesting week ahead. A good number of truckers seem in no hurry to leave Ottawa. Trudeau continues to hide…

Two or three remarks, Friends.
A late night survey of broadcast AM radio indicates that the tapestry of propaganda about the Russians and also the not-to-be-spoken is in shreds. Can’t say about East of the Mississippi, but the West is lost to the brigand gang. This has become increasingly obvious from the topics and the callers and the “disk-jockeys”…of course there are also dogged attempts to keep up the lies, but even these are weakening. The narrative has escaped and, so to say, the barn’s liable to catch fire…which imho, implies that our brigand junta must have a war to attempt to secure Time. Mr Mercouris recently actually said, and honestly opines, that “West wants war with Russia.”…I would say that’s “machine intent”, like the scorpion who stung the frog. And point out that evil appears as good to the demented…
And suggest that in spite of his hyperbolic style, Comrade Turner also makes good argument that West wants War…ships loading material San Diego, LNG tankers heading to EU, Russians flew Golan and Zio did not shoot, then Persians landed weapons at Air Base in Khmeimim – and zio did not bomb…Actions speak of capability and intent, even as lies, if taken with intelligence, reveal truth.
RT published a good essay> “The Bolshevik Revolution and the Ukraine crisis: What can they possibly have in common?” This essay might be taken with https://youtu.be/Rmjs2oDC1-I (Brother Smedley and the plot to do FDR) and consider that they did, finally, get FDR, in ’45…thus the Kennedy affairs were indeed corrections by fascist elements, as Fidel said in ’60’s. So was the FDR death…as Stalin said.
The same people who said “the bomb is for Russia”, the same fascist elements, have now precisely the same design. Since that’s a futile goal, they’re lost in fear and panic. Quite natural. I recall MacBeth…
Later…
Smoothie just posted a quietly optimistic YT video on lack of prospects for a little European winter war. I agree, having been optimistic in last week, my jaundiced eye towards our northern brothers notwithstanding. Maybe if we can get hockey cancelled that would be a way to guarantee instant “change”! And they have pluck! The truckers just closed down the Alberta-Montana border crossing. Do they want to risk a nervous and possibly unhinged Uncle Joe ordering an air strike?
The correlation of forces are against the Sea Pirates.. Europe is quickly drifting away – France and Germany are (finally!) starting to arouse from stupor; as you indicate, narratives collapse – not just west of Mississippi but it appears most places there are sentient beings. Russia is quite assertive – shutting down GPS over Occupied Palestine! Shocking moves in the Levant. The Bear is marking his territory by urinating on Spike’s kennel.
But If! We need Wagner and his 1,001 cousins to be all in Ukie and Donbass FF spots to prevent them. And they might, with months to preplan counteraction.
Best case: they retreat and isolate Oceania from the World Island, to waste time on Fascists’ eternal quest: a wunderwaffe. More immediate risk is the weak spot of an internal FF in CONUS, on far bigger scale than 911. This may be time we see whether residual integrity remains in armed forces to resist the crazies. Surely some must balk. Nicholson said all it takes is A Few Good Men.
Just as you say. Poor coupling efficiency results is “high reflected standing wave” overheating transmitter”, so to say. Overheated transmitter is approximate metaphor for FF. Why low E? ‘Cause Zone B ain’t buyin’ the con. E has to go somewhere…again, so to say. Classically the model suggests the final amplifier tube is goin’ t’ blow…
The cause for RAN Adelaide total power failure (and continuing comm problem) may be as smoothie say, poor quality in ship and people, but I am skeptical…and Recall EW tested on Donald Cook and etc…
Where else might total power failure spontaneously occur…Coincidence Theory in Pol says that there are no coincidences. Doubt and ambiguity may mask the message telegraphed through hull of RAN flagship, but I bet it was sent.
“The cause for RAN Adelaide total power failure (and continuing comm problem) may be as smoothie say, poor quality in ship and people, but I am skeptical…and Recall EW tested on Donald Cook and etc…”
me too. These are Sea People. Even a Lordless, landless, broke and out-of-luck old samurai in the post-samurai new world maintained his katana until his dying day.. This is part of the code. And so Ships for Sea People, at least for those not broken in spirit.
So it is inconceivable for incompetence of this magnitude to affect the flagship of their navy. In addition to naval tradition, there is current ambition as part of AUKUS. This is an unimaginable fubar!
Anglos are being turned into stock for a rerun of Benny Hill.
What will they claim now, after the SSN which “hit the underwater berg,” that this was a collision with a really obese electric eel?
‘curious little mishaps accrue’
Less mentioned is the locale for the mishap – Tonga.
And who says China is not the one sending messages? I would think the double helix has a division of labor. China needs to learn the lay of the southern seas and to start patrolling the SLOCs and recently sent that ICBM right over Sydney.. who says they are not testing new year’s gifts from the Uncle Vlad?
Had similar thoughts myself…..very strange to loose both main and auxiliary power simultaneously.
Backup systems always run more or less off separate turbines/battery banks.
Some powerful electro magnetic forces at play more than likely …….or just dirty fuel ha ha.
You may be skeptical, but both LHDs have had ongoing problems.

Most maintenance is carried out by outside contractors, and the ships’ Engineering Departments are under-manned and under-trained.
Mr P thank you for the Guthrie history lesson, reminds of a recent convo, ‘where did you learn your history?
Not so much world history, but local, family. Passed down, word of mouth, ‘my father’s, father’s, father…..’
Most of mine came in the form of Rebel Songs, Kevin Barry, Father Murphy, and the National Anthem of the Irish Republic, The Soldiers Song, all taught at fireside sing a longs, or just about any social gathering….’they’ may rewrite ones history in the books, in the classroom, but they can’t change the lyric of a song.
Woody and Towns are two of my favs from that era, but such hard living, like Williams, catches up, especially if one has comorbidity.

Big Blizzard here again, like third in two weeks, ‘high snow, high snow, it’s off to blow I go.’

In school we sang the Guthrie songs, and (gasp!) even union songs, despite the pogrom against the commies. I suppose now this was a subtle way to reply to the pogrom..
Chilling parallels, burning people to death, when he gets to the end of the song, of the children burned to death, he reminds of how history does repeat……Odessa Union Building.
Pogrom….today’s wokism perhaps?
I see Joe apologized to the people

Dude, a ramble reply…
Anoxia is breezy and t-shirt warm. It is supposed to be near to freezing…I remember cold though and blowing snow…Laramie Valley. But at Anoxia, the snow cover on the mountains is pretty sparse… The hard times of youth were good for us, I know, ’cause I ain’t dead and most of my cohort are. In Laramie I favored the western side at the Sin Saloon, but here’s the Buckhorn Saloon, note bullet hole in mirror…https://travel.davidmbyrne.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Buckhorn-Bar-Laramie-Wyoming-1.jpg?x23482 Sin Saloon had a Margareta that was frankly unsafe…land grant college town…with friendly coeds.
I have wondered why some people live a long time. Old people don’t “cost much” – they don’t eat very much, they can work, they watch the children, keep house,…and tell the Histories, teach kids to read and do maths. I strongly suggest the classical evolutionary social function of old people is to teach the children. We had radio and 4-party line telephone, and ice…and 4 generations of family…and sang, told stories, in the evening. Little kids hear a lot…I recall overhearing stories. Great grandpa (a Quaker) shot a man dead…he resisted a horse-back robbery on the prairie and, well, the fellas had to get paid…no choice. (and no cops took interest). Great Grandpa had 2000 guys on the payroll at one time…better to shoot a guilty bandit than to argue empty-handed with 2000 innocent fellas who had plans for Saturday night at the Red-light Inn….simple, sad. History!
Garlic coming up a foot tall. Frosty mornings though. We have a raccoon that’s moved into diggins under a shed, and a rogue kitty that visits. Mrs P wants a nanny-goat… (I’m not very enthusiastic)…but dairy is getting ‘spensive, and dicey.

Sometimes, hearing stories about “russo-phobia” I am left entirely puzzled. I have heard such sentiments, in Italy, from admirers of Fascist War. But never in USA… But anti-Irish sentiments seem to be strong in some elite gangs of WASP types…and I sometimes suspect that one reason that they did the job on Jack and Bobby has to do with Irish-o-phobia…class prejudice. The Russians I knew as a kid were Imperial Russians…’white Russians”…different, and possibly former criminals, but nice people. Many Russian expat Jews too…again, different, but good. I don’t understand the talk Saker reports about anti Russian prejudice. Maybe it’s an East Coast thing… (bullet holes in bars were not unusual in my drinkin’ days, and I never felt the slightest fear)
Jack and Bob were libertines and “criminals”…but their behavior was normal WASP wealthy childish behavior…and overarching they were good men. I suspect their murderers used anti-Irish (and anti-Catholic) ideas to rationalize the crimes. Can’t say anything like that about Russians in the US – never heard a negative word.
Later old man…keep warm.
Only a society which respects their elders is cultured.
Old age is a medial stage between life and death. It can be both fascinating and painful. Much depends on how one lives this phase of life. Old age also evokes memories of youth and looks forward to the end of life’s journey. Some verses to look at and appreciate the variety of responses to this experience.
tis said this fleeting life
once gone never returns
go to the tavern and
bring back my youth again
– Abdul Hamid Adam
no longer am I young,
love’s passion still remains
the fire as yet burns,
no smoke though it contains
– Jigar Moradabadi
in old age talk of youth now seems
to be just like the stuff of dreams
– Sheik Ibrahim Zauq
The journey traverses a reverse direction,
but my footsteps go onwards
I become old now,
in order to remain young and cordial
I have always revered and appreciated the elders.. Our living libraries. among the earliest memories was grandmother, parchment thin hands and such wise eyes – she knew my mischief before I acted on it, a warning smile enough to rein in.
I think Dimitar is off brooding on History elsewhere, like Rodin’s The Thinker statue. I will try to inadequately fill in with Poetry!

My eyes are fine; they are just printing words small.
I just use a walking stick to seem stately and tall.
Nothing is wrong with my sense of smell.
My ears are fine if you don’t whisper but yell.
The wrinkles are just laugh lines; they will go away.
It is fashion that has turned my hair from black to grey.
It’s the cold, not age that is stiffening my knees.
I like to hum as I walk; it’s not a wheeze.
What extra kilos? My scale is broken down.
If I try, I can still fit into my wedding gown.
My bones don’t creak; my shoes are new.
My memory is sharp. Oh, do I know you?

Said the little boy, ‘Sometimes I drop my spoon.’
Said the old man, ‘I do that too.’
The little boy whispered, ‘I wet my pants.’
‘I do that too,’ laughed the little old man.
Said the little boy, ‘I often cry.’
The old man nodded, ‘So do I.’
‘But worst of all,’ said the boy, ‘it seems
Grown-ups don’t pay attention to me.’
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
‘I know what you mean,’ said the little old man.

So, so lovely all of them, thank you, the grace, beauty, passion and helplessness of old age and youth entwined…

This event must come to pass; it must and it will… and soon.
One must read the Wealth of Nation by Adam Smith for the emphasis on the ‘invisible hand’ – that even Keynes acknowledged at his end point – that is, prior to all those stupid academic ‘economists’ began misquoting him (Keynes).
The (my) keyword is ‘stupid’ in the latter sentence.
Humanity cannot go further forward as it has reached ‘peak stupid’ assimilated with ‘peak incompetence’ and – almost ‘peak corruption’. And, as the Gods are hiding their heads in embarrassment and shame from the antics of their creation, the Brandon, Schwab, Gates, Fauci, etc. (intentionally used) Cult doubles down. The Russians are controlling the Canadian Truckers, Nuland withholds cookies, Republicans go berserk over Tucker Carlson, WEF and the graduates from its Cult School demand more Genocide via their ‘vaccine’ Cull.
At this time in reflection of worldly events that humanity, with all in baggage and immersed in a fully corrupted self-made environment of incompetence, ego, covetousness, envy – that is metaphorically filth and or demented ‘ideology’ (as are all ideologies), that we could control, plot, plan and build our own ‘utopia’. We are just no so capable due to the fact that collectively we are too ignorant (maybe in another millenia or two).
So all the latter plus, plus, plus; all insanity ; all founded in ‘peak insanity and expressed in the political language of dense lies; not one word of truth in any of it. I accept that these events are the result of feudal government defecating to relieve humanity of the poisons accumulated during the past decade since the adoption of the Keynes ‘model’ that falsely represented Keynes (to some extent – but you get the grift:) so that a future can be secured with some resemblance or liberty, justice and sanity bent in Truth (as the child of time).
So nevermind the details, the Gods have set our immediate future to the wash, rinse and repeat cycle and it is now up to this ‘invisible hand’ cycle to rid us of the vermin and rodents of ‘elite leadership’ (as they call themselves) while presenting a clean environment in which we can enter our own future far from the shadows of the murk and putrid stained past.
May the Force be with You.
The political rich have their answer to everything, in the middle of a labor shortage, the answer is to build out more stores. Thus using scarce labor to build out, and further labor to run the new stores.
So what new stores are being created during this labor shortage? Well after the gvt gets done fleecing the citizen with a phony crime bill and prior questionable tools. It then needs a place to rent to sell back to the public the same items it fleeced in the past.
Now the gvt is having numerous problems just governing, its failing miserably. And now they want to into business during a labor shortage, something is not right here, and it has something to do w/questionable policy decisions.
Just going to drop this here.

I find this truly amazing.

Russia Hits Back With Sanctions: Will Ban for 5 Years, Any Corporation Donating To Congress
World NewsDesk 31 January 2022 Hits: 9725
Russia seems now ready to take on US sanctions head on, will Russia force many US congress representatives to quit?
Up to now Russia has always sort of deflected US sanctions, by using evading maneuvers to protect their companies. But now Russia seems ready to hit back and make it painful.
Banning the companies that support American Congressmen!
Yesterday the idea was floated in the Russian Duma – their legislature similar to Congress — to ban any US company for 5 years which financed a US congress representative or senator, that votes for or previously voted for, sanctions against Russia.
Oh. This could be bad.
Most US companies donate to some of both parties.
Apple? Coca Cola? Boeing? McDonalds? VISA? Walmart? General Motors? Ford? Procter & Gamble?
Apple alone does 3 billion sales in Russia, 5 years would be be 15 billion sales lost for that single company!
No problem for Russia. They just get everything from China. At a fraction of the cost.
Occam’s razor suggests it was US launch…note 2010 date…is study in ambiguity and telegraphy of diplomacy…missile launch Catalina…see> https://youtu.be/7AMdHBgHtNE
Now then, let us assume that Mr Ivan or Mr Chine would decide to create doubt, ambiguity, uncertainty, and hesitation… Can or would a similar launch near Martha’s Vineyard create such feeling? How about Bremerton?
The helio and aviation jocks who saw the launch live and aloft were combat vets…it was launch. Cute!
It’s unclear who and why…but not unclear that it happened, and also that it can happen again.
