Generally people would like to control their own destiny. However, the African has been taught and controlled by other tribes and nations since ancient times. They are slowly breaking the mold of slavery to make of themselves a people.

From your comment I’m willing to ‘bet’ that, from the maps you know, you cannot answer what ALL of the following countries and subcontinents have in common with Africa? India, China, Japan, the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska), Mexico, New Zealand, the U.K., all of Western Europe, and all of Eastern Europe? Is it historical peoples (slave descendants, immigrants, native peoples)? Enormous, valuable and, still, mostly unexploited natural resources? European, American, or other colonization? Asymmetric trade restrictions?
All true, and much more – but there’s an even more potent commonality: If you take ALL of these countries and subcontinents together, their combined land masses and peoples, ALL fit into the continental land-mass of Africa. With space to spare. Scientific American published a correctly proportioned image to show how Africa swallows up these nations. Interestingly, it also turns out that Saudi Arabia has more area than France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Poland together (Mark Fischetti, Scientific American).
Africa, at about 6% of the Earth’s total surface and 20.4% of the land area, doesn’t just straddle the equator, but is the only land mass to stretch in its entirety, from both the Northern to the Southern, as well as Western to Eastern temperate zones. Differently looked at, it’s bigger than the countries of Russia, the United States, and India all in one.
From your comment you sound like one of those folks who “go to Africa for a weekend”, or, vaguely remember what a nineteenth century (if that) textbook had to ‘knowingly’ say about ‘Africa’ – i.e. accounts that were (still are) extraordinarily colonial, alarmingly ignorant, and deeply “racist” [the discovery of DNA makes clear that, scientifically and biologically, ‘humans’ – at least Homo Sapiens – are simply/complexly just one ‘race’ – there is no scientific or biological reality to “race”.

I could write about Africa’s contemporary milestones (and its starting and accelerating entry into BRICS+ – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) and mention that Africa’s 55+ leaders have reached an important milestone in creating a united African market with the launch of the operational phase of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on 7 July 2019 in Niamey, Niger. The 55-nation trade bloc will unite 1.3 billion people and create a USD 3.4 trillion economic bloc. It is the largest trade bloc to be created since the World Trade Organization was founded in 1995 and is set, by 2050, to become the biggest integrated market worldwide uniting some 2.5 billion people.
I could write a book (and many others have) on the neglected, suppressed, ignored, and otherwise distorted and misallocated Africa and African people’s historical as well as contemporary discoveries and contributions to Earth’s culture, language, science, and technologies over the last five millennia (my arbitrary time window), but here is neither the time nor place.
Just wanted to gently inform you that, Africa – It’s much bigger than you think; It’s far richer than you can imagine; and It’s connecting faster than you ever dreamt of. Perhaps Ryszard Kapuściński said it best (author of “The Cobra’s Heart”, in an extract from “The Shadow of the Sun” [2007)) –
“The continent is too large to describe. It is a veritable ocean, a separate planet, a varied, immensely rich cosmos. Only with the greatest simplification, for the sake of convenience, can we say ‘Africa’. In reality, except as a geographical appellation, Africa does not exist.”

Africa likely has more resources than Russia. I suspect deliberately being kept under wraps by the Lords of War & Chaos, until they can submit Russia and other residual rebels, then enjoyed at leisure (so they hope). And once you see the comparative size with W. Europe, and keep in mind the bottomless greed in most mens hearts (the real Heart of Darkness), and the Teknologia and Pharmakeia which came together some centuries ago, then the global rampage of the last 500 years makes sense. And the foremost tormented were Europeans with their endless civil wars, which led to the temporary truce of Treaty of Westphalia, now broken and more respected within Zone B.

When Europeans were in their Dark Ages, one African king Mansa Moussa from Mali (of the land of Timbuktu fame) went to the Hajj, travelling from West Africa through Egypt to Makka. Along the way he gave such alms in gold that it dropped the global value of gold! Maybe he foolishly inspired the looting and pillage still underway to this day; Venetians and Iberians took note back then. And you can tell the stupendous wealth and resources merely by the names given to colonial territories – the Ivory Coast, the Gold Coast..

The garden has finally begun to give up it fruits. Asparagus this year was poor, good asparagus, just short three week season compared to the 7 or 8 we usually get. The cooler weather is a help for things that normally bolt to seed. The biggest surprise was the strawberry bed we put in last year. Producing large fruit by the litre. Four pots of jam already, a bit runny…a work in progress. Corn is waist high, potatoes not far behind, and the tomatoes….well like potatoes they grow just about anywhere……just about:)

Sounds heavenly anyways sean! You know, you can recook the jam just a little .. strawberries are notoriously low pectin and better jammed when a little less ripe – just put it back in the pot and slowly slowly give it a little more time on the heat perhaps with a pinch of pectin to jam the juice. Otherwise if not worthwhile, pancakes, top cheesecake, icecream and imagination.
I’ve been reading about that….just soooo good the way it is. So next batch is jam, this batch was syrup….for ice cream, and of course pancakes.

Rabbi say that In Hebrew the term is used to mean “miss target”…a term used in archery. Rather closer, I think, to “awchit” than to real evil… “out of harmony” is, I think, what Rabbi had in mind.

That Elizabeth thingy, in her sophistry of course omits to secure the ground, in this case the terms ‘Sin’ and ‘Free will’. Free will is a modern term and not a religious subject term. I can postulate with ease that there is no such thing as “Free will” by using some simple materialistic logical operations anyone can do it for himself, I won’t repeat it here.
So there we are left with Free will at it’s most both extremes which are inapropriate to describe what we expirience, and it is an experiental phenomenon undoubtly – namely the ability or more precise being confronted with multiple choices of action regarding a question in the future, whereas also experiental in nature, the outcome will depend on our choosing.
So the question is something completly different from what the term “Free will” suggests (and thus reveals already it’s evil composers..), namely how to modulate the flow of events in such a way as to increase the number of positive outcomes, or more simple how to modulate the interaction pattern to generate positive future developments, evolution, unfolding, perfection etc.
Nothing mysterious about it, but instead fundamental for every living being. So what ? Where did you want us to go ??

HDan, what you think sin is/is not has no implicit correlation with what YHWH considers sin to be. Neither, we are told, does sin have any relationship to “eternal” judgment without application of YHWH’s own law:

If, in Heaven, YHWH decrees that it is sinful to gaze (as far as a spirit can) at an angel you might not consider it as sin. At this point the discrepancy has no particular effect between you and your creator. many of the troubles on earth are due to belief in the various hereafter tooth fairies (leaving aside ill placed faith in the wordly dream teams for now).

Not to materially disagree, but “free will” is a “modern term” only if we take a very liberal view of what is modern, and count, for example, Aristotle as “modern”. Perhaps it’s too big a subject for easy consideration.
For myself, I prefer to avoid the term and fall onto something between “spooky action” and “random will”…as in Heisenberg. There seem to be “problems” with this slippery notion of free-will.
I like “random will”. Noting that there are degrees of random.
It seems to me that human deliberate action cannot be free. In part because of randomness in the environment and limitations of latency and bias in perception, as well as errors in reason and practical necessity or imagined necessity limiting the time available to create resolve or intent.

I am quite sure that all this has been said a thousand times before on this blog. Nevertheless I will share my thoughts.
I am not russian nor am I ukrainian. I am a citizen of a european country that is supporting the fascist Kiew regime unconditionally. I will not use the terminology „Nazi“. I will speak exclusively of fascists.
Now lets take a very simple and naive standpoint. What would have happened if there had been a fascist victory in winter 1941/1942 ?
Then today there would be no Poland, no Czech republica, no Russia, Belorussia or Serbia. In fact there would be no trace left of the languages, the history, the culture or the people who inhabited those countries or areas. No trace at all. Think about it.
Whitout Soviet victory, Mr Zelensky would not even have been born, his family had long vanished into thin (black) air.
I have always found it weird, not to say insane, that people, who were regarded as animals by the fascists occupants, were fierce supporters of them. Croatia is one example, the Ukraine another.
Today I saw a video of a caputured ukrainian officer. One of the (very young) russian speznaz made fun of him. What immediately came to my mind was this : maybe the grandfathers of those two fought together against German fascism. Both were comrades. They not only fought for their lives, they literally fought for their mere existence (in a metaphorical way). And now they are supposed to be enemies ? The situation is surreal, dreamlike, actually it is complete nonsense. Brother is fighting brother, sister is fighting sister.
It would be wise for the ukrainian people to realize that the game played here is just „divide and conquer“. And the puppet master is the sinister old crook in the White House and his european servants. It has nothing to do with „freedom and democracy“. It is an ongoing slaughter between slavic brothers. Both should know better. (At least one does)

Within five minutes of posting this comment, I received an email explaining that I “violated forum policy” and was henceforth suspended for seven days.
It’s their policy that you need to keep in mind, terms of use. You should read it, just like Saker Rules for proper decorum. That means if you post something and an algo spots it, it receives automatic ban for seven days. Over that seven days a ‘human’ will review it, if it was benign, which Algo can’t distinguish it will get put back up. Furthermore, if a human reads it and complains it gets the same treatment. And will need review.

The world currently is in a state of expectation, anticipating a new global geopolitic of China, Russia and lesser powers in mutual cooperation. This new development is called multipolarity, which is an anticipated development of multiple power centers, to replace the single power of the waning US empire. Multipolarity is built on two premises. First, that the world should be ruled in-toto, in the whole. Secondly, that it will be ruled in-toto, by more than one single authority or government, a unipolar to multipolar transition.
The birth of this idea of multipolarity is premised from the model of the one world empire of the US, which began its global rule with the imposition of the global tax in 1972-73. The rapid dissolution of this empire, beginning in earnest in 2014, has fostered the idea of the multipolarity future. This idea can be summarized as: The earth has been ruled by one power, now it will be ruled by two powers, or more.

Sickness or health, war or peace, stability or instability, these are projections of the future, and are impossible to know.
During the last, approximately 50 years of global empire, our world has increased, nearly beyond calculations, in various metrics, such as: population, health, wealth, education, communication, trade, transportation, urbanization, industrialization, electrification, etc. But, belonging to this list, and ranking at the top, is armaments. Never has man been both so materially successful, and also so potentially deadly. It is this realization which tempers all hopes and thoughts of the future.
In standard job interviews I’ve oft wondered how people with face tattoos make out. Is the face tattoo a pro, or con.
Seems if one is applying for a job with the Canadian Armed Forces, it’s a pro, along with facial hair and pony tails, all taboo in my day.

My father had exceptional eye for and experience with geopolitics. President Vladimir Putin signed last week a decree that seizes full control of the Sakhalin-2 gas and oil project, a move that could force out Shell and Japanese investors.
Pavel Zavalny, the head of the energy committee in Russia’s lower house of parliament, said yesterday that the Sakhalin-1 oil and gas project in the country’s far east will be put under Moscow’s jurisdiction, just like neighbouring Sakhalin-2.
Four companies — Rosneft, ExxonMobil, Japan’s SODECO and India’s ONGC Videsh — are partners in the Sakhalin-1 group of fields. ExxonMobil had decided to pull out from the project in March after Moscow launched what it calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
Earlier yesterday, Russian deputy prime minister Yury Trutnev said that oil output at Sakhalin 1 had plummeted to just 10,000 barrels per day from 220,000 bpd due to “restrictions.”

There are intimations Russia strong armed Kazakhstan (KZ) into shutting down its pipeline to Europe.. such lovely Hyperbole by the missus! Russia launched a military satellite at the end of April approx two weeks after the Moskov was sunk, they also launched another satellite July 7th, and there are accusations Russia launched several other military sensitive satellites since the Moskov was sunk. What was being used temporarily to monitor the coast is not needed anymore. Besides its two football fields in size, within artty range of both sides, meanwhile Lisichansk fell, Karkov is under heavy pressure and the Donbas……..a work in progress. If only the Ukraine could liberate a few more islands Russia would surrender.
