If human beings understood that our personal freedom ends where that of
our neighbour’s begins, the world would be a different place.
The Great Wall
Well, the story is told
Of a thousand year haul,
And the countless lives given
To build the Great Wall.
Mountains were sundered
And boulders were heaved,
Generations were plundered
And families bereaved.
Here is the wall
Built of blood, sweat and tears,
To keep out the hordes
And to keep in the fears.
It’s better within it
Than it is without
Should you fall to temptation
Or stumble upon doubt.
If you stay on your side
And I stay on mine,
Then no wall between us
Need be defined.
If you can’t stay on your side
And I can’t stay on mine,
We’ll be building that wall,
Till the end of all time.
Come rain, hail or shine,
The emperors proclaim;
You won’t know their face
And you won’t know their name.
Some come here as conscripts
And some volunteers,
That the wall wind its way
Across all frontiers.
My body is broken,
My back unrelieved
My heart it is heavy
And sorely aggrieved.
All over the earth,
The ghosts of the past;
Await by their graves
The ceasefire’s broadcast.
The story is told,
Of a thousand year haul,
And all those that died
To build the Great Wall.
If Hadrian and the Chinese;
To name but a few…
Could build a simple wall,
Then why not me too?
Wonderful poem Dimitar.
Many thanks !
And yet it is difficult to forsake or destroy resolution and inclination once they have been suffused with energy.
after the smoke clears;
to be or not to be
that new me?
When the whole of the family is found in the yard, the story becomes a book.
when heads
become tails, no two tales
are the same

After another day of bombing throughout UA, where there is supposedly no heat, light or water in many cities, I received e-mails from Kharkov, Poltava, Kiev, Odessa and Lviv..
No idea how that works, unless they have internet which operates on air..
@Eddie
Its been widely reported citizens in western UKR have to go to charging stations to charge their devices.
There’s ‘000’s of people at these stations at any one time.
Its also been widely reported that electricity is available for 3 – 4 hours/day in *some cities.
Other cities have no power at all.
Kharkov and Poltava were completely down, but Kharkov only took a day to re-connect..
In the 20 years I have been hooked-up with UA Emailing, there has never been down-service on their part..
A substacker in kiev has a rechargeable battery pack he uses for phone & laptop. Also I think gets a couple hours electric/day

A really important vote and see this statement by Zakharova on its diplomatic significance. She says:
“16 December 2022 15:37
Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the adoption of a resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism by the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly
2578-16-12-2022
On December 15, participants in the plenary meeting of the 77th Session of the UNGA adopted the resolution submitted by the Russian Federation on behalf of 32 co-sponsors from all around the world, Combating Glorification of Nazism, Neo-Nazism and Other Practices that Contribute to Fueling Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.
The resolution was adopted by a vote of 120 in favor to 50 against, with 10 abstentions.
On November 4, the draft was approved by the Third Committee of the 77th Session of the UNGA.
Despite the unprecedented pressure the “collective West” puts on the UN member states, the result of the vote clearly indicates their unwillingness to question the results of the Second World War as outlined in the UN Charter, the Nuremberg Charter and the Nuremberg Trials verdict, as well as the verdict of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
Against this backdrop, the position of the former member states of the Axis which, for the first time in UN history, voted against this type of document cannot be understood and it evokes resentment. What did they vote against?
**** The resolution condemns the glorification of Nazism and manifestations of neo-Nazism. It notes the unacceptability of attempts to falsify history, justify the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Nazis, their allies, and collaborationists. The resolution expresses outrage over the marches and processions to glorify those who fought on the side of the Nazis or cooperated with them, while expressing concern over the Western countries’ system-wide and total “war” against monuments in honor of those who fought for the liberation of the planet from Nazism. ****
It is noteworthy that the Western countries’ attempts to politicize the discussion, even scores with Russia in the context of the situation in Ukraine and undermine the adoption of the document not only failed, but they also revealed the true reasons for their unwillingness to vote for the eradication of Nazism and the prevention of neo-Nazism, concealed by alleged concern for freedom of speech and freedom of assembly, as well as time-serving political considerations.
**** In this regard, it is especially gratifying that most countries still objectively assess the outcome of the Second World War and understand the importance of the preservation of the UN’s fundamental principles to prevent a recurrence of the horrors of war like those that were fostered by the criminal ideology and practice of Nazism. At the same time, current global developments prove the immediate relevance of this key initiative in the UN, which is a priority for Russia and our counterparts. **** “.
Tony Kevin’s Comment:
“Voting record: all the US-led bloc voted against this resolution, including all the former Axis powers Germany, Italy & Japan. Israel voted for it. Outside Europe hardly anyone voted against this resolution and very few abstained . In Asia, only South Korea and Myanmar abstained. Every other Asian country supported the resolution. Australia was left embarrassingly isolated as a US colony yet again.
As Zakharova alludes, the resolution became a de facto world referendum on the Ukraine War. The text cleverly wove in condemnation of current cruel destruction across Eastern Europe of WWII memorials and support (in Ukraine) of pro-Bandera neo-Nazi parades. It reminds Asians of what they suffered under Japanese occupation in WWII.
The resolution record shows convincingly the lack of sympathy for the Kiev regime in the world outside the US imperial camp. It is a diplomatic disaster for the West and a good outcome for Russia, China and the non-aligned world. Another key signifier of the global trend towards civilized multipolarity. How much longer can the US and its compliant allies stand against this, as they become increasingly diplomatically isolated in the world?”
Note: ALWAYS remember 55,000,000 – 70,000,000 (est. as so many people crossed national borders) people were killed due to Nazism / Fascism in WWII. Were all of their lives lost in vain? Really?

US Democrats: How the war machine took over the Democrats w/ Dennis Kucinich – The Chris Hedges Report
There was once a wing of the Democratic Party that stood up to the war industry. J William Fulbright, George McGovern, Gene McCarthy, Mike Gravel, William Proxmire, and, of course, Dennis Kucinich. But that was largely decades ago. The new Democrats, especially with the presidency of Bill Clinton, became shills not only for corporate America, but the arms industry. The massive military budget, $858 billion in military spending allocated for fiscal year 2023, is an increase of $45 billion over the Biden administration’s budget request, and nearly $80 billion more than the amount appropriated by Congress for the current fiscal year.
What happened to the Democratic Party? Why has it become impossible to question war and the massive expenditures on arms? Why is such questioning political suicide? Why can’t a Democrat ask, especially at a time of economic hardship and huge deficits, how much we are going to divert to the war in Ukraine, which has already consumed some $60 billion? Former presidential candidate and eight-term Congressperson Dennis Kucinich joins The Chris Hedges Report to discuss the past half century of the Democrats, and how the war machine conquered the party.

An assassination attempt was made on a Wagner Group-linked Russian representative head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic

Dmitry Syty opened an anonymous parcel, after which an explosion occurred. The diplomat needed hospitalization
PRETORIA, 16 December. /TASS/. The head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic (CAR), Dmitry Syty, was wounded in an assassination attempt. This was reported to TASS by a representative of the Russian Embassy.
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo called the attempt on the life of the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic a terrorist attack
The Russian Foreign Ministry promised to find the organizers of the assassination attempt on the head of the Russian House in the Central African Republic
“The head of the Russian House received an anonymous package on Friday and opened it, there was an explosion,” the Russian diplomat said. “The injuries are serious. The head of the Russian House has been hospitalized.”

Founder of Russian private militia accuses France in Central African Republic attack
Reuters
Dec 16 (Reuters) – The head of a Russian private militia accused France of attempting to assassinate the head of a Russian representative office in the Central African Republic, who was seriously injured on Friday after opening a mail bomb.
Dmitry Syty, head of the “Russian House”, was taken to a hospital in the capital Bangui and by late afternoon his condition was serious, but stable, the Russian Embassy said, according to the Russian RIA Novosti news agency.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the once-secretive Russian private military contractor Wagner Group, which has supported Central African Republic’s (CAR) army since 2018 but gained wider attention with its role in Russia’s war in Ukraine, blamed France for the attack.
France is the former colonial ruler in CAR, a gold- and diamond-rich country of 4.7 million people whose government is fighting several rebel insurgencies. Since 2018 the government has been assisted by hundreds of Russian operatives, including many from Wagner.
“Before losing consciousness, Dmitry Syty managed to say: ‘I saw a note: This is for you from all the French, the Russians will get out of Africa’,” Prigozhin, who styles himself as a strong supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said on Telegram.
He said he had asked Russian Foreign Ministry to open the procedure for declaring France a state sponsor of terrorism.
The ministry said the act aimed to “harm the successful development of friendly relations” between Russia and CAR. RIA Novosti quoted an unnamed senior CAR source as saying the country would cooperate with Russia in the investigation.
Prigozhin said Syty had received a package on Nov. 11 containing a photograph of his son, who lives in France, as well as a note saying Syty would receive his son’s head next if “the Russians do not get out of the African continent and open the doors for the French”. He said Syty had feared his son’s head would be in the new parcel.
Interesting.
Note the way CAR & 5 other UN member-states (US, Israel, Micronesia, Marshall Is & Nauru) voted against the right of Self Determination for Palestinian people.
Think about it. Why would any nation vote against another any other nation’s right to self-determination ?
Unless they want to oppress them.
They are listed as a yes.

The toys
BrickMania.com is an American electronic store selling different collections of toys with different themes. Toys are kind of like LEGO. And if LEGO has a policy of not marketing collections related to real military weapons, BrickMania.com doesn’t think so.
“Ghost of Kyiv” MiG-29, American M777 towed howitzer, 155mm shells pack, Ukrainian Wolverine, Defender of Ukraine, Ukrainian Female Sniper, T-64BV and T-80BVM tanks, Frontline President and Stugna-P Ukrainian ant0tank guided missile are only part of a rich thematic collection of the electronic store.
American kids buy military toys and raise $230K for Ukraine
The prices of the toys vary, but they are definitely not expensive. They range from $40 to $600 depending on the complexity of the toy. For example, if the child wants a tank or a plane from the war in Ukraine, the price can exceed 200-300 USD. A soldier, an assault rifle, or the president of Ukraine are within $40-60.
Where will the amount go?
Apparently, the toys are getting a lot of interest as until December 13th BrickMania.com has announced that they will be donating a percentage of the value of each toy to help Ukraine. The amount collected by December 13th that the e-store will donate is nearly 230K US dollars [$229,914.38].
BrickMania.com says the amount will be distributed to various organizations involved in sending aid to Ukraine. The online store has listed the following organizations – United 24, Wingmen for Ukraine, International Rescue Committee, Direct Relief, and Ukrainian Red Cross. BrickMania.com also specifies that not only the mentioned organizations will receive funds, but also similar ones.
Looked up Brickmania, they are my neighbors where Top Gun was filmed.

No NATO for Sweden then.
Latest news I saw was a circling back to the sinking of the Moskova. Apparently, an atmospheric inversion enabled the Neptune radar operator to ping the ship over the horizon. They deliberated for several minutes before launching the attack.
Bearing in mind that the Moskova was a modernised operations ship, the unanswered questions for me are
The Moskova would surely detect a radar lock and had several minutes to interpret it.
Radar installations searching with active radar are huge beacons for counter fire. If this radar was actively searching, it seems likely the Russians would have destroyed it
The Neptune missle is a slow one. Being over the horizon meant an enormous distance to travel, with a lot of time to respond
The inversion effect works both ways, so the Mosokva would have had even more time than normal to detect the launch and intercept the missile
I think they are still covering for something here. Perhaps information sharing which they should not have done, some act of sabotage or a direct missile attack from a NATO member.

excerpt (trans) Eng> “The renowned scientist Prof. Jochen Renz has reviewed the results of the last years. The result is alarming and suggests that elections in Germany are fraudulent for decades in method. In the last Federal election in 2017, an incredible 13 million absentee votes could be manipulated systematically.” The mail-in votes…well, that’s the whole idea…
Explains quite a lot…of course the methods are also used in CONUS…
In zone A, nazitoland, “election” means that a “church” of naive trust in fake outcomes by the people exists, and “rebellion” means disbelief.
Actually what’s interesting in the matter is that by controlling the “church of fakevotes” the nazito junta telegraphs that they themselves believe that the people actually have the potential to overthrow the junta…as Barky-the-Trained Seal Ohbummber put it, “the pitchforks”. The fear is obvious…
Anyway, old story, worth reading.

I wish to address the matter in detail as it works @Anoxia. From direct observation.
Vote in person> Attend a designated “polling place”…if your name is on the list, you sign a book, and they hand you a ballot. However, if they don’t approve of your signature, you don’t vote. Even if you point to your name on the lists they can, and do, sometimes, say> “We decide if your name is there or not” (I have been told that my self, and sent away! There are “mail-in ballots” sent to just about every postal address…if you do not give “yours” to the poll-workers, you can’t vote in person. The actual in person vote is not particularly a “secret ballot”, considering the way cameras work…but there is a nominal claim of secrecy.
vote by mail…ballots with no chain of custody spew forth, and many arrive at counting places. These are in envelopes…one person open the envelope, takes the ballot out, and hands it to another person. The envelopes are signed. The ballot is not signed. The State claims this means it’s a secret who you are!
In the old days, when election day came, the adult men gathered at the Courthouse, carrying pistols and so on, and voted by a show of hands. That makes an honest election…
