Ted asks me what mobo, I tell him Asus X79 WS, he don’t know what that is, but he says good, as long as it aint a Gigabyte, cos he has had two of them die on him in the past, and so he will never touch gigabyte again as long as he lives.
Ted asks me what HD’s, I tell him dual 512 gig OCZ Vector SSD, he don’t know what that is, but he says good, as long as it aint Seagate, cos he has had two of them die on him in the past, and so he will never touch seagate again as long as he lives.
That’s my policy, says Ted, fuck me over twice and that’s it, never again as long as I live will I go near your products.
I’ve had a few beers, I start laughing and make a comment, and it is one of those moments when you know that person ain’t never going to forget or forgive, fuck it and fuck him.
I laughed my ass off, and said “Ted, you’re on your third fucking marriage…….”
You could have heard a pin drop, I guess Ted will be making an exception in my case, I don’t have to fucking him over twice….lol

Was debating going for a RAID0 SSD too, but the oddly worse 4k performance and the boot-up RAID shenanigans dissuaded me.
Also I don´t trust the OCZ, but I know you like the cheap sluts(harhar). 😉

The revo Z drive PCI SSD’s are pretty good, but serious fucking money…
If you want RAID-0 to actually WORK, forget onboard “software” raid, grab an LSI 4 port card, but speaking personally I would never stripe an SSDx2… just asking for trouble even with an incremental NAS backup.
Stick enough RAM in the bitch and she#ll never touch the disks except from program load and data write anyway… RAM in copious quantities is the answer to everything, 4 x 8 gig mushkin blackine pc3-19200 / 2400

Oops dual, missed that. Love the 16GB I have in my new budget gaming/surfing/wanking PC!
Actually I rediscovered the virtues of the good ole RAMDisc and put the Windows-TMP dir. on the 4GB partition(+automatic backup on shutdown) the free version offers. I know there are Supercache drivers, but frankly I don´t feel like paying for something Windows should do itself. So ramdisc and portable apps it is.
Maybe by now it´s all moot but in the beginning OCZ had this reputation for using cheap flash chips, also the weird way their controller operates made me suspicious too. The reason that back then I got myself a good priced 128GB Crucial.
Jeez those LSI´s are a bit pricey.
Frankly I don´t see the benefit to get one when they almost cost more than the damned 2nd SSD itself?
