German left leader speaks: Bundestag: Merkel is playing with fire on orders from Washington The deputy head of the German Left Party Sahra Wagenknecht urged German Chancellor lift sanctions against Russia and did not contact the authorities of Ukraine.
Sahra Wagenknecht recently launched in the Bundestag sharply criticized the policy of Angela Merkel with regard to Russia, accusing the Federal Chancellery in blindly following the instructions from Washington. Wagenknecht Merkel pointed to its double standards and accused of unleashing a new Cold War in Europe.
– You lose all the legacy of detente and brought Europe to a new cold war, the danger of the spread of fire, because you do not have the courage to confront the US government. Our citizens deserve the best policy – good neighborliness with all its neighbors in Europe – said the politician.
According Wagenknecht, during the summit in Sydney Angela Merkel expressed its indignation at the fact that in the world there are still thinking “old categories of spheres of influence” that “Wipe your feet on the international law”, but the leadership of all of Germany 25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall winked at the US actions in the Middle East and Libya.
– In Ukraine, you cooperate with the regime, in which the functions of the police and security services are performed reliably attested by the Nazis – said Wagenknecht. – Rather than mess with these thugs, we need a foreign policy, for which the security and peace in Europe will be more important than the instructions from Washington.
Summing up his words politician said: “Go back to the path of diplomacy, the lifting of sanctions. Finish the game with fire! “
With Its Gold “Vaporized”, A Furious Ukraine Turns On Its Central Bankers Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/02/2014 – 11:29
As reported two weeks ago, following to a stunning announcement by the head of Ukraine’s central bank, Valeriya Gontareva, we learned that (virtually) all of Ukraine’s gold was gone, or – in the parlance of Jon Corzine – had “vaporized.” And as we also predicted two weeks ago, it was only a matter of time before Ukraine’s people – the vast majority of whom are innocent pawns in a vast game of realpolitik between the west and east – finally got angry and demanded some answers. That time came earlier today when as Interfax.ua reported “a Kyiv-based court has instructed Kyiv prosecutors to bring an action against National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Governor Valeriya Gontareva on charges of abuse of power or misuse of office to obtain illegal profit, the Vesti newspaper reported on Tuesday.”
So Ukraine has already fallen behind on the agreed gas payment arrangements. As the news video reported, Russia has received no money for December’s gas supplies. So I assume no gas is being sent them. That may account for all the heating and power cuts I hear about in Kharkov and other areas. It appears they are more interested in turning the country over to foreign bosses than working for their people (no surprise there).I’ve read that Poroshenko has said Ukrainian Cabinet meeting will now be conducted in English. Can you imagine the outrage if Yanukovich had ordered his Cabinet meetings to be conducted in Russian. The junta is an abomination in so many ways it would take countless pages just to list them all.
I’ve always considered the Roman punishment of the Jews (destruction of the Temple + exodus) as a rather exceptional punishment – from what I remember about my history classes no other people suffered this punishment: did the Romans maybe consider the Jews an especially dangerous people or religion?
Is this a meaningful question? If so has anybody an answer to it?
I think that to contend in the media/PR game you have to offer a fully-rounded alternative narrative. A whole ideology or worldview. There’s no point presenting isolated facts or opinions and hoping that they’ll have an impact in the western media landscape.
In any country the media/news is *not* about informing us about events. It’s about weaving everything into a cohesive narrative. Supporting the myths and views that sustain the socio-political order.
During the cold war the USSR co-opted, funded and directed a worldwide ideological network of parties and their media which interpreted and wove their narrative for a local audience. They presented a fully-formed worldview which was widely adopted and nurtured by a global intellectual elite.
Today Russia doesn’t have that. None of it. RT is a joke compared to the global soviet ideological edifice. Today it’s not clear what Russia stands for. Traditionalist Eurasianism is still in the foetal stage. The country’s elite is divided and not all confidently singing the same tune. It has extremely limited organized intl support.
The last year has made me seriously reassess Stalin. I don’t see how we’d still be in a position of hope for global multipolarity without him.
Meanwhile, the western ideological apparatus is falling apart. But no one has the means to build an effective alternative yet. Ideology is built on economics and guns.
Things like sovereign Democracy and the ideas of Glazyev are very shrewd and pragmatic, but they’re not as inspiring and all-encompasing as soviet ideology was. The state-level reversion to religion has benefits and draw-backs, in the global PR game it’s a drawback, sorry. Places like Cuba, China, Vietnam or Angola aren’t going to rise to that call, I’m afraid.
I think that’s a vaild question…I don’t know why the Romans destroyed the temple, although I’m sure there is an answer. Is that the time when the legend says that Joseph of Arimathea wss imprisoned behind the wall and the Empreror found him still alive, after 70 years, with no food, but the chalice which Christ drank out of ? The Holy Grail ?

With my thanks.

Poroshenko appoints three foreigners to the Cabinet (all with solid investment fund backgrounds, fancy that)

and makes them instant citizens, while trying to starve out 7 million real ones.
