I like the heavy Russian accent as well made you listen carefully to what was being said. Can’t believe I jumped on this thread so many comments about an accent.
RR
Agree. If I had a choice, someone with deep voice like Fyodor Chaliapin, speaking slowly, displaying news and commentary with deliberation, rather than cramming it with speed and high pitch as western speakers do.
Have to disagree. The former news reader was driven, very good, but had a strong accent.
One has to understand that all these new, enthousiastic independent media are very quickly gaining new audiences.
This includes many interested people who are not that well informed. And have seen many movies. Even if they forgot them, some foreign accents keep on carrying strong emotional undertones.
My standard: jokes… A joke in an ´unsympathetic´ foreign language is Never funny. I am a Russophile, but still most jokes with their accent are not funny to me. Because of many Hollywood movies of the past 50 years, most of them, which I forgot. Linguistic programming…
Most Latin language and English jokes are funny to me, even if they are borderline offensive. Most of my life , they were considered sympathetic…
A news reader without an accent goes a 100 X further. Not fair, but true.
Sorry, bu this is nonsense. What is “no accent” to one, may be an unpleasant accent to another. To many in Britain, for example, north american accent sounds horrible. And your Hollywood movies with voices like they cannot open their mouths properly and speak through their throats – yuck!
Thank you Rootman, you relieve me!
I had the impression I was the only one not understanding the previous speaker… Not that I found his accent unpleasant, only that (probably as a French) I didn’t understand what he said, nor did the automatic subtitles which were simply comic.
I am sure some people would find the previous one clearer though… And, of course, any accent carries cultural and political connotations, I was just speaking of intelligibility.
ditto re; intelligibility; the phrasing and the emphasis on specific words is appropriate to a language other than english and this is the english translation thank you. i totally agree.
I agree, the russian voice was terrible PR. Not the accent, but the mispronunciation of most words. It was very painful to listen to even to my non – english, eastern european ears. It the message is targeted to non russian audience, it would be a good idea to keep the british voice.
Saker, keep up the good work!
PS: A link to Nikita Mikhalkov youtubes is a must on this site
Have to agree. The previous speaker was quite difficult for a native English speaker to understand because of his constantly stressing the wrong syllables. Some languages have a more “even” tone but English is quite incomprehensible if the stress is put in the wrong place, which this speaker did or does constantly. The whole rhythm of the language is off-kilter. (That is why the way many Indians speak English is downright comical. They stress the wrong thing (probably sounds fine in India, but not to a USA er) and it sounds so funny! So, purely from a comprehension point of view I prefer the current speaker. Even understanding the language I couldn’t quite put together all of the sarcastic nuances. I guess I prefer my news straight up. Satire is a different genre. That’s my take.

Well I thought old accent great…we must persuade southfront to have options for either..I loved the ironic humour which really made me grin, it was inthe character of the absurdity of the whole situation
Isn’t the goal of these videos to appeal to an English speaking public? I was thrilled when I heard someone with a clean accent. I don’t think you realize it, but these videos are treated as jokes by people outside of our community because of that thick accent. If the goal is to just keep this information within our little circle, then we should keep the old thick accent. But if the goal is to reach as many people as possible, then they should keep the new voice.
Why do you think Israel used Mark Regev as a spokesman? His accent was understandable by almost all English speakers. With this announcer, there is now the possibility that parts of these broadcasts may be picked up by some of the more enlightened western media.
Which ones would that be? It’s not that some of the Western media aren’t “enlightened”.It’s that they “choose not to be”.As an example,I saw a story from their Moscow “reporters” on the Guardian today. It was the most lying piece of trash, on the Nemtsov murder, and the march I think I’ve seen.It basically, through innuendo, and half-truths,accused Putin of the murder. And led the public to believe, that the Russian people are enslaved, struggling to be free. That the 5th column had massive support.Only held in check by a dictatorship. It’s that type of “enlightened” view that is leading us directly into WW3.
“Which ones would that be? It’s not that some of the Western media aren’t “enlightened”.It’s that they “choose not to be”” We’re not talking about mainstream media, but rather about Anglophone alternative media. No one except dolts and functionaries of the empire pay attention to mainstream media in America anymore.
nobody likes british accent -surprisingly only british are not aware of this.
english version is meant not to convince the British which is a hopeless case (after all they voted to power the war criminal blair thrice even after knowing his lies and crimes and they did not like john major as he not less aggressive than war criminal thather and they are for ukip because it is a racist xenophobe party and no lover of russia).so they are not ignorant-they do know but their action is because they are like that.
No the point is to enlighten those people who do not know Russian and can understand a bit of english to understand the english version. let us say the those unfortunate to have been victim of english rapacity and loot.
so please kick the british accent out everywhere and bring back the previous voice .
Yes, but they had the good sense at one time to kick Churchill out in the 1946 election, just after he had supposedly “won” WW2. I think the British people recognised then that it was Russians who won the war..
I could get used to this friendly, down-to-earth Aussie voice. It reminded me of the great John Pilger. Don’t think that all Aussies are like that cretin Abbott or the other political poodles. Most of them are sensible and think for themselves. Above all, they are great believers in fairness.
The accent is definitely from the Oceania nether region.
Not pretending to be an expert, but being surrounded by friends from all over the commonwealth [Canadians, Brits, Ozzies and Kiwis] tells me this is not an accent from the northern hemisphere that I’m aware of.
Another possibility would be someone who was born down under and moved northward in later life.
I’d vote for a Canadian voice over; easy on the ear, easily understood and without the hyper, over the top hysteria of CNN’s warmongers.
re: SouthStream March 2nd: I am so glad that you have not lost your sly sense of humor with the addition of the more polished voice for which I am grateful because I can understand the sound track much better! Keep up the good work! Beep Beep All we need now is a roadrunner called Bad Vlad
Glad also that you addressed the question of: Cui bono and did so in a non ponderous way.
I don’t understand why you criticize the man. His spoken English is better than mine and I don’t mind the dialect, I like it. It is not right to demand that he should speak like an American, he has the right to use his own dialect. The first man had learned English as a foreign language and that was hard work I can tell you. I remember Churchills and Blairs French. Spoken French is not easy to master. Learning foreign languages is hard work for most of us.
I don’t know how it is today, but in the past Aussies used to have problems with the English, especially the upper classes. Some of them had an attitude to the UK. BBC:s English is snobbish and I don’t like it either, but this mans language is ok, imo. Let us agree to disagree.

I still don´t think it was a false flag. The man was politically dead, and a nobody in the west.
Nobody in the west will remember him in a month from now, although it will be irritating to constantly find his name in MSM articles, as ´proof´ that Putin is a killer.
The parade showed an almost choreographed aspect: thousands of brand new Russian flags, all of identical size. Reminds me of Hong kong, with identical umbrellas, a great sound system and catering. Like the maidan, or Charlie.
Do the colored revolution agents have a huge storage of this stuff , complete with action plans in every country? For a false flag, or just in case something happens?
My version: I still think it has to do with the girl (No disrespect to her, he had Excellent taste, courtesy of the US taxpayer) : This ultra right winger (read: nazi) had many contacts with the pravy sector. His sweetheart was also sleeping with a nazi batallion commander. While Nemtsov was enjoying her company, this man faced devastating defeat, and after all, his rival was still a ´moskal´, political friend or not…
´Bond girls´ can be very dangerous when you are not James Bond… James Bond he was not…
I think the “personal reasons” theory is plausible, and the scenario you described is just one possibility. My understanding is he fancied himself something of an “international playboy” (curtesy of US Taxpayer, of course — so nice to know my tax money insures the likes of him are able to afford the best escorts!)
Another option worthy of consideration is some mix of personal and business — he may have been grabbing more than his fair share of “democracy-promotion” cash… Or maybe somebody just thought he was.
Do the colored revolution agents have a huge storage of this stuff , complete with action plans in every country? For a false flag, or just in case something happens?
I have been saying the same thing since Sunday: look at those professionally made banners with Nemtsov’s photo on them! I used to work at a sign company here in the Empire; those huge high-quality posters can’t be whipped up and distributed so quickly. I know Moscow’s a big city and I assume there are plenty of professional printers there, but I’m skeptical that so many banners and posters were produced in such a short time frame.
How many places can there be that print those banners & T-shirts? Maybe investigators can find out when they were printed. Wd be a terrific smoking gun.
Q: His sweetheart was also sleeping with a nazi batallion commander.
R: I think that’s a bit tough when she was straddling down a bridge in Mossheepcow.
It will be a ‘pro’ hit if it turns out he was shot from behind [2 or 3 bullets to the head. 1 to bring him down, instantly, 2 +3 to be absolutely sure he’ll never stand up again].
The fact that the woman [a direct witness to the murder] is still alive is bothering me [enough bullets in a clip do to do in both]. Bothering me in the sense that that fact almost surely indicates she was party to the killing.
I still don´t think it was a false flag. The man was politically dead, and a nobody in the west.

The problems with the “it wasn’t a false flag” view is it doesn’t explain why the zionazi network of web sayanim were right on this in massive force within minutes of killing. It also doesn’t explain why the zio-media presented a uniform propaganda message about the murder. Both of these factors point to this being an orchestrated event, with both the web sayanim and the zio-media aspects being prepared beforehand so that once the man was killed, all they had to do was send out “talking points” that were to be used. Both the web sayanim network and the zio-media are centrally controlled and organised. Had the murder been unplanned, there would have been no web sayanim blitz and there would have been more variation among the reports in the zio-media, as there usually is when the unexpected happens and their “talking points” have not been already prepared beforehand, as neither would have been insync with a specific message to promote.
With regard to the web sayanim, they would have mostly ignored the death without it first being hyped in the zio-media, as they usually ignore things not specifically brought to their attention. Normally, the media hypes an issue, and the web sayanim then reinforce the zio-media spin, the zio-media which in turn, is reinforcing the ZPC/NWO approved propaganda line. So everybody is insync. But here, we saw that the web sayanim network was already blitzing the web with their “talking points” BEFORE the zio-media really got going on the story. This is unusual and indicates these “talking points” were both created and distributed to the local web sayanim controllers (for distribution immediately upon notification of the op’s completion) before the murder took place. That’s the clincher.
One other thing is that Putin’s first public statement about the murder is that it was a provocation, and Peskov has since stated the same repeatedly. The Russian government (and Putin) do not make such statements without evidence. One can be certain the Russian intelligence services briefed Putin on what they know about the murder and that Putin’s statement reflects this knowledge.
Incidentally, that this murder was a false flag does not mean there couldn’t be other motives involved, as well. The Russian government has stated as much, and it is clear the investigation is working under the understanding that there was probably more than one motive behind the crime.
As to the theory that the woman was involved in the murder. The fact she wasn’t hurt tells me either she is either irrelevant to the crime, or a central figure in the motive. I don’t see the 23 YO planning it herself, for obvious reasons, but perhaps someone close to her who was upset about her being with Nemtsov could have. This could explain her being unharmed.
What it doesn’t explain, though, and this is vitally important to understanding this false flag, is that the Russian police did not detain her as a suspect, but instead treated her as a witness whose life was possibly in danger and who needed protection by the state from those who did commit the murder. If there was any hint she was intimately involved, the Russians would have treated her as a suspect instead.
It is mainly due to these factors I think she is not involved in the crime. One other thing is that by killing him while he was in her company, the killers were able to “create” a diversion away from themselves by having her considered as a possible accomplice or reason for the murder. These hits are well planned in advance, as anyone who has seen this recorded video footage of the dozen plus Mossad agents setting up the hit that took place a couple years ago in Dubai. Mossad Murder in Dubai – Complete Timeline
They do “dry runs” of the ops before to work out unforeseen problems, if possible. But there are always variables that cant be factored out completely that risk such an op. Nemtsov’s murder may not have been their first try. Sometimes the first attempt at the actual hit is a wash and they stand down and work out a new attempt for a later time or date. Since they would have known the girl would be with Nemtsov, she being there was not considered a risk. And by not harming her, they created an alternate motive leading away from themselves. Had the girl been killed, as well, that would remove her from the list of reasons for the murder. If she had been a minor player, IE: providing the killers with info about Nemtsov’s movements, for example. Then they probably would have killed her also because she would be a potential risk leading back to them.
Quick tip.
Copy paste the spacing code multiple times. (Ctrl V, enter, Ctrl V,enter etc) then put your text between them, delete the extras.
It also works to write your reply in a good notepad then paste it in here; the paragraphs spacings go with it.(eg Notepad++ -free plug- but doesn’t do bold or italics)
A dry run was done to kill JFK. Described in detail in Douglass’s JFK and the Unspeakable. Or, perhaps not a dry run, but they attempted the same scenario three weeks earlier, in Chicago. The motorcade was to drive under a bridge and slow down, and that was where the shooting would occur. Something unexpected happened, cant ‘recall just waht, and they had to abort the misison. So they set it up for Dallas.
Interestingly, the last name of the nurse who was taking care of JFK’s father after he suffered his stroke was ‘Dallas’. Just a coincidence or a message, hmm….
Why yes it is very interesting.. A triple agent..
Although indignation of the Russian authorities is because it took place like on the white house lawn. It showed that FSB security could be breached. Now I don’t buy a lot of the article. He did cause misery to millions. He was a crony in looting the place dry. Mostly his support of the west enabled them to do a lot of damage to Russia. That the Russian people realized him for what he is the result of his declining popularity.. Could he have been recruited by Putin? Sure.. But I doubt Putin will work with someone who deliberately was selling off the kitchen sink to the west to get in their good graces. Would someone like that suddenly get an epiphany and develop a coincidence? He sure did not show it with his actions. Mostly he showed he worked for himself. The effect on the opposition by his actions can be attributed to that fact alone.
Nemtsov was killed on the background of the Kremlin towers, in order to first, show that he was outed, and secondly, to demonstrate that the next one may be someone behind the Kremlin walls.
The genuine sorrow and indignation of the Russian authorities is clear – they know who really was Nemtsov and why he died. The loss of such a devoted colleague, especially associated with the most significant projects of the enemy, in such a dangerous time is irreplaceable. The cries of the Kiev junta are understandable: the puppets will not be notified of the master’s affairs.
Anyone notice the part about the entire area being under the FSB and all feeds go directly to them and that all cameras were working and the like?
Lots of false info out there making wild accusations with circumstantial evidence. I think the false evidence is FSB plant because their security was breached. until they fix that we can not expect anything solid. And there is no more evidence that will become available or any trail to go on. Anything that comes out now would be just to burry it. Everyone who is someone already knows the details that’s necessary. We will be told something to make us forget.
10 minutes for the cops to show up at the kremlin?
As part of the information front of the conflict, the more “professional” the appearance of the media product the better. If you are preaching to the choir, than yes, sarcasm and disparaging cartoon depictions of the opposition are acceptable. If you are trying to reach someone uneducated and misinformed about the conflict (90%+ of the english speaking population), then you should give the appearance of a degree of objectivity and refrain from expressions of anger and hatred (even when they are justified.) I think the Saker touched on this when he wrote about discontinuing his use of the phrase “Ukies” when referring to the UAF and Kiev. Also, the clearer the speaker the better. I send my deepest thanks and appreciation to the original narrator, who took on the daunting task of addressing an english speaking audience as a non-native english speaker. Your voice will be missed. But, I salute and support the decision to bring in a stronger english language narrator. СПАСИБО!
I agree with this. The previous speaker was kind of funny. But the combo of hard to understand plus sarcastic remarks often left me mystified as to what was actually going on. If you want to broaden appeal (hey this is “information warfare,” right????) I think a fellow such as this, delivering, actually straight news sans the in jokes and confusing asides, is the way to go. Of course being half German-I take things seriously and want to UNDERSTAND first of all.
Who is the lady marching with him in one photo while Boris grabs down her blouse front for her left breast. Quite bold, and she seems to enjoy the ideological fondling.
Perhaps, he was making a point about Women’s Equality. Clearly, it is in contrast with the Putin chivalry of offering his coat to President Xi’s spouse.
Next time, Vlad might consider behaving more to the global standard of grope, fondle and impregnate whoever the female is next to him.
No wonder the world elites don’t like Putin. So old fashioned.
Why does everyone believe everything is a false flag……… and then not even stop to think a photo may be PHOTOSHOPPED?
Every time an image is posted that makes somebody look bad or stupid or guilty, the FIRST thing to think of is Photoshop. This one of his hand down the girl’s top (in a public street, broad daylight, and zero reaction from nearby people) is a FAKE. In the original arm hand was reaching across in front of her, nowhere near touching.
Open a browser window, and in it open Google Search set to IMAGE view. Make the window half size, and also the one where you see the suspicious image. Drag the image onto the Google page. It will instantly show previous times the image OR VERY SIMILAR was published. So you will see the “before” that the photoshopping stated with.
So how many ‘Handles’ do you have sock-puppet ? This is the third one I see, always spouting the same shitty lies, what’s wrong ? Don’t get out the crappy troll office much ?
Something strange has happened since the new blog started up. Now you are a troll if you like an Aussie speaking English. This is kindergarten behaviour. We are here to intelligently discuss what is happening in Novorossiya, Ukraine and Russia, not to go after important contributors at South Front. Don’t shoot the messenger, listen to what he has to say. I have been on the net for a long time and I become suspicious when the discussion moves from the message to the messenger. It is as if Aussie speak is a threat because it is easy understanderable and can reach many more viewers and that includes those who learned English as a second language and there are many of them on the blog.
Some of the comments remind me of an old headline in the UK:
“Fog over the channel, the continent is isolated.” In modern parlance that would be “fog over the Atlantic and the Pacific, the rest of the world is isolated”. Please friends, we are not all Americans here. Sakers blog is a truly international forum.
I was unable to wade through the comments of the last threads. There were too many of them and I knew my comment would never be read so I didn’t bother. I think some of the regulars thought along the same lines, because they were hard to find. This new blog is excellent, but there has been a peculiar change among those who comment.
A bit OT, but any enlightened opinion by you illustrious commentators about the public rift that seems to be developing between the White House and Netanyahu ? Realize the White House is only a small element in the overall panoply of the U.S. deep state, but what does it portend ?
Looking back at JFK a lifetime ago, the current POTUS may need to watch his back, avoid Dallas.
Doubt if anything will happen this close to the end of his term, unless the powers that be want some competition on the (D) side for Hillary. The only way Biden could possibly contest with Hillary would be if something happens to Obama. But can’t forget that Biden is deeply involved in this Ukraine mess, so who knows?
Walter Reed is filled with broken soldiers [physically, mentally] that have no place to go. I guess its the brass not wanting to fight another war for the Apartheid State.
Yes, agree. Totally lost the sarcasm, which was the most effective thing in the videos. Sarcastic imagery seemed to be a little toned down too. Previous videos were hilarious.
And the rest of the imperialist media and political organizations – chime in.
The *Pattern* of False Flag provocations can be easily traced. The pattern rarely varies,
1. Deed, -followed by
2. Propaganda Offensive (or offensive propaganda), -followed by
3. Attempt to Reap the Reward (overthrow of the targeted government, imperialist war, cheering proto-fascist zombies demanding blood, more funding for the military and secret agencies, more profits for the Bank Owners and their Military Financial Complex).
False Flags are nothing new. They were used in Ancient Greece and Rome, and later, helped trigger the Spanish American War (Battleship Maine), the American entry into World War I, (Ocean Liner Lusitania), Vietnam (Gulf of Tonkin attack on the American 7th Fleet by the non existant Vietnamese Navy), the Assassination of america’s last Constitutional President (Kennedy),and the overthrow of his government and of our Republic. And there are a thousand other examples.
It might be useful for The Saker to have this web site’s readers begin such a list of False Flags (beginning with the late 19th Century – to the present). The list would include -the event, -the motive behind the event, -the outcome, and, finally, the perpetrator/s. Such a published list would help many to see the pattern; and by visualizing the pattern, enable many more to understand the reality of False Flag crimes.
Properly identified, the criminal Oligarchs should be held accountable for their crimes.
Article a week old but good to look back on what recently happened in argie, since the m.o. there looks to be the same as nemtsov—getting rid of useful idiots who’ve outlived their usefulness.
must be getting late here when they’re down to jettisoning the empty baggage.
btw, u can find on u-tube a lecture up by jordan maxwell wherein he details the symbology & significance of “red square” & appropriately timed blood sacrifices to the controllers.
u’ll have to find it yourself! i heard it a few years ago & remembered now, but he has hundreds of hours up there, & more on his site.
The problem that Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has,is that, (and is true throughout Latin America except Cuba). The military and most of the upper and middle classes are Americanized.Years of propaganda, and feeling superior over their own fellow citizens has denationalised them.As a small personal example to show the point.I had several young friends from Mexico (middle-class to upper-middle class).Their parents sent them to schools (not just college),across the border to the US.To get a “better” education. What that did is leave a divide in their minds from their own people.Everything they talked about that was in the US was good. While everything in Mexico was bad to them.Their friends, and their way of thinking, was American. They looked down on,and were “ashamed” of their people and their culture. That example, prevails throughout Latin America among those classes.Unless, and until,Latin America can purge those groups from power they will always be used to subvert their nations. The Argentine, and even more, Venezuelan governments need to watch their backs with those people constantly.Cuba is the only country in Latin America able so far,to (for now) overcome that problem. And create an elite in their country loyal to their country’s needs.Which is one of the most important reasons the Empire hates them so much. They were the “slave, that escaped”.
I don’t ever comment here. But I think many comments today are unfair. I have seen for months people writing on The Saker criticise the thick “Ensign Chekov” accent of the regular South Front newsreader. I work in Russia, and so for me his accent was always understandable, plus he has a beautiful young energetic voice. However, they seem to have taken those requests to heart and have now found an Aussie that has perfect mother tongue English. I just don’t think you should be so hard on them. I guess they can’t win. But to those that now like the old newsreader – I would ask; why did you not defend him before?
I am not an English speaker and I did defend him. I went through hell, with blood, sweat and tears, learning three obligatory languages in school at a time when nobody could help me at home. This is very difficult to explain to anglosaxons, who demand perfect English from foreigners while sometimes, not always, refusing to learn foreign languages. Some of them who do make an effort are met with friendly smiles, as I was when I visited foreign countries.
Btw, I am familiar with Russia and I know how things have changed. One of our Russian friends visited us as a malchek in the 1990-ties. At his next visit in 2014, he was an advanced student at the university. We went to my dacha and discussed scientific theory in English. His is bright future.
RE “his is very difficult to explain to anglosaxons, who demand perfect English from foreigners while sometimes, not always, refusing to learn foreign languages”
That is OK as a genearalization but that is all it is. I am pretty fluent in a couple of languages and have learned many bits of others. I always make an effort to learn the local language when I travel, and have great respect for the linguistic abilities of others who meet English-speakers more than half-way.
But that is kind of beside the point in this context. The broadcast is in English. This is the English-language part of The Saker blog. The broadcast targets an English-speaking audience. The English should be easily understood.
“That is OK as a genearalization but that is all it is. I am pretty fluent in a couple of languages and have learned many bits of others.”
Katherine, what you do is good, I know how hard you have worked, but I have NEVER met an English speaker, who can speak my language fluently. What they say sounds rather silly. Live with it, as we must live with the impossible demands posed on us by fluent English speakers.
I look forward to the day when English is replaced. After having been insulted several times by snobs, I really look forward to it. Live with it.
Q: The broadcast is in English. This is the English-language part of The Saker blog. The broadcast targets an English-speaking audience.
R: I don’t know where Anon is from [the one that replied to you], but I’m convinced that in his/her country there will be ample evidence of local accents.
Accents, which, even within the borders of said entity, will be difficult to understand to most others.
That’s why every country has developed a standard language to enable all inhabitants to communicate with one another and for outsiders to learn it and communicate with every inhabitant.
Like you said, this is the English section of the Saker’s web site and the demand is not for more French speaking people with a German accent, but, where possible, easy to understand English.
The voice on this track is much, much better than the previous one. The previous one has a problem similar to a child reading out loud for the first time, incredibly annoying. The only thing similar I remember to that previous voice is an Irish guy on Euronews who was fired 4 weeks after starting. It was totally unprofessional, and now this voice finally is acceptable.
Bad choice for a voice South Front. Accent is fine but the voice is too low and difficult to understand due to its un-clarity. A higher pitched voice speaking much more slowly is much more effective. I could hardly understand the too quicly speaking low tone of this new presenter. Please slow it down and speak more clearly.
This stands completely separate from arguing about accents
US and Israel attempting to establish feigned “diplomatic row” to justify “unilateral” Israeli attack on Iran.
Tony Cartalucci (LD) : In a 2009 US policy paper published by the corporate-financier funded Brookings Institution, it was made clear that the US was determined to provoke Iran into a conflict and effect regime change at any cost – up to and including an outright military invasion and occupation of Iran with US troops.
The original speaker was witty and full of enthusiasm but the enjoyment was marred because much of the thrust of the reports was lost as a result of the difficulty in understanding.
Given the tragic circumstances involved, perhaps it is more appropriate to treat the subject seriously.
This is one of the documents confirming that the Ukrainian army becomes a branch of US Armed Forces. The amount of expenses is amazing. What is much astonishing, almost one million dollars is assigned for opening “linguistic laboratories” and purchasing text-books for them. Undoubtedly, it is what Ukrainian Armed Forces need today. They all need English to understand Washington’s orders more quickly.
I found the above when I scrolled the cyberberkut site.
I burst out laughing – even though it isn’t actually funny.
Every accent has its own charm. Anyone who has made love to a French woman will surely agree [I hope].
Anyone who has seen the flick ‘Lost in Translation’ will [hopefully] also agree that translations and accents can be very distracting [I, for one, sometimes have real trouble in understanding you Brits].
So far, nobody has asked who made this change and why [what’s the reasoning behind it, as this is not a CNN clip?].
I’ll wait for those who made that decision to step up to the plate and give their explanation, before I pass judgement.
I didn’t have any problem with the former voice and now I even a sort of miss it. The present one is a perfect English but gives a certain distance when speaking about Novorussian affairs; Truly, the former one seemed to be living through what he was talking about, which was giving him more authenticity; BUt I don’t focus on voice too much, anyway. I’m listening to the message, whoever is relaying it.
Since we are voting on voices, this one is at least comprehensible, which the earlier one (for me) often was not, too “mechanical” and difficult for me to hear actual words.
I agree. There were two main problems with the “old” presentation. One, the unacceptably broken English of the “old” speaker was quite distracting from the message itself, and often difficult to understand. Two, the ludicrous inserted imagery which was probably intended to be funny – was certainly not (of a junior adolescent level) – especially in view of the serious subject matter. Thankfully, things are fine now.
I’m sorry (happy) Carmel by the Sea, after watching the video promoted, I just had to listen to: this – I hope you understand. It even mixed quite well with your video.
I’m *extremely* happy that the voice-over is now done by a native english speaker. The purpose of these english-language videos from SouthFront is to bring these important messages to an *english-speaking* audience. Unfortunately, the previous speaker had an extremely strong accent and frequently mispronounced english words. On top of that there were frequent grammatical errors.
Western audiences – and in particular english-speaking western audiences – are inundated by very smooth and effective anti-Putin propaganda. We should all see the importance of getting the truth out to as wide an audience as possible. English speakers will likely ignore and even mock any message they hear in heavily accented, mispronounced and grammatically incorrect language.
That was much clearer. The previous speaker, while funny, would really butcher and mispronounce key words.
The truth is that the credibility of the information was damaged when native English speakers cannot understand the message.
This presentation was smooth and clear (radio voice) and it’s not a British accent you ignoramuses, it’s much closer to a Kiwi accent.
Great work by people who produced this and are working so hard on their own time to improve the transmission. Now if they could add more edge and sarcasm (in the style of the previous announcer), that would really round this out.
It’s definitely not a Kiwi accent, having very slight hints of Aussie and/or S.Africa. It sounds like a cultured English accent and I mean that in a very positive way -not a ‘dreadfully refined’ or ‘uppity’ class accent. I’d actually really like to know the background that produced that accent.
R: I think you’re on to something here. The way he pronounced the word ‘murder’ dis have that Ozzie ring to it, but maybe the SA angle is a viable one as well.
When I first started the video, my initial thought was a British news source was being quoted and waited for the familiar news reader to come on. :)
I don’t mind the new reader, but I miss the humourous, sarcastic delivery of the Russian guy. His style really set these news videos apart from the crowd. Very Russian, but also very anti-establishment westerner before the insecure zio-capitalist-queens vanquished all real dissent from western media. Sure the Russian guy was sometimes hard to understand, but like with a subtitled foreign film, that extra effort at understanding the material is part of the draw of it, and certainly worth the effort, rather than a disjointed dubbed version, or worse, one of those sanitized, distorted Hollywood gay soap-operaish, polemical remakes of the film.
As to the Russian guy’s accent being ridiculed which some are whinging about here – sod that. WTF those zio-queens say is irrelevant to everything. The sort of developmentally and emotionally stunted, adolescent bitchy zio-queens who would whinge about something like that are exactly the sort who need to be completely ignored. These web sayanim will always rag about any non issue they can find. Ignore them, cause no matter what one talks about, these zio-queens will seek to divert the conversation to the lowest level possible. It’s their job to cause such disruption.
I agree … so much hot air devoted to which ‘speaker’ us arm chair warriors like or dislike.
As we say on Oz… ‘Get a life’ … in other words let’s focus on the real issues and be thankful that somebody is trying to give us current news of Novorussia.
And my 2 cents worth… the speaker does not have Aussie accent.
The Zionist Murdock (yes.. his mother was of that ilk, but pretended to be Anglican) press here are full of ‘Putin did it’ BS. Give me a vomit bag!!
Hmmm, what I learned a long time ago, when dealing with Zionist hasbara people. Is that when they have no answer to your message. They try and change the subject.Changing the subject dilutes the message. And if they are lucky, you forget the message and just talk about the change.I don’t remember (since it was long ago),when the message “change” started, and who started it.But from the truth of these videos, the message “became” the accent of the presenter.Something totally meaningless compared to the truth of the message.I’m a native “English speaker”,and while his accent wasn’t MSM perfect.I could understand him with little trouble. But the hasbara work, like all “good” hasbara work, accomplished its purpose.Even here among us.The accent “became” the video to many, and not the “message” in the video. It’s time we stop falling for hasbara, and lay off the accent discussion. And only concentrate on the video message.
Nothing llike a bloody Kiwi accent mate, or an Ozzie for that matter, and a Bok you can hear for miles! I don’t know, do any of you actualy speak Gringish??
Just to clarify, the reader definitely does NOT speak with “a British accent” (whatever that is. That the media make constant pastiche posh bourgeois southern English accents equal ‘English’ does not mean these don’t make but a small fraction of the accents of the Isles.)
He’s Australian.
Oh also, btw, we can all find nasty stereotypes – which usually apply quite well – to most nationalities – Germans, Poles, Turks, Indians, Chinese, USA-campers… you name it. Not to say I’m in love with the English – ‘my people’ as I’m sure YOU would probably define it – but in your satisfying aversion you forget the boring fact that: imperialism begins at home, so the Isles are chock full of victims least by most common criteria… (even if they do often seem largely unpleasant!)
Still agree about the new voice (not so good), and also about the old one (ditto; different reasons). The new guy sounds like he’s blatantly reading the copy of someone else who happens to have a personality and passion, which the the new guy seems to lack. That’s the prob for me.
Hallo all and best wishes!!!!!!…. Post #1. And thanks very, very much mr Saker!
[Note from Moderation: Initially We had a technical problem with this article. It had to be posted again The first comments were approved but got lost. I’ll try to recover them.]
I like the heavy Russian accent as well made you listen carefully to what was being said. Can’t believe I jumped on this thread so many comments about an accent.
RR
Bad choice for a voice of SouthFront.
I hope this is very temporary.
Bring back our accented, sarcastic voice of SouthFront.
And never ever use a voice from anywhere in the British Empire.
Agree. If I had a choice, someone with deep voice like Fyodor Chaliapin, speaking slowly, displaying news and commentary with deliberation, rather than cramming it with speed and high pitch as western speakers do.
Regards, Spiral
I agree too
….yes, bring back the ‘voice’.
yes please. bring back the previous accent not this british type rubbish
Yes, bring back the voice, but just ask him to speak a little slower. Enjoyed his satire.

@ Mats,
“Don’t use a voice from anywhere in the British Empire”.
Hear! Hear!
Yeah, if I want a British Accent I can tune into Bi Bi Cee.
@ Stephen,
Yeah, Bibi’s southern accent is legendary…
Yes, getting rid of “Ensign Chekov” takes all the fun out of it. This guy is bor-ring!
@ Mats,
I always thought conservatives were against change…
Agreed.
please bring back the previous voice.
nobody likes british accent -surprisingly only british are not aware of this.
english version is meant not to convince the British which is a hopeless case (after all they voted to power the war criminal blair thrice even after knowing his lies and crimes and they did not like john major as he not less aggressive than war criminal thather and they are for ukip because it is a racist xenophobe party and no lover of russia).so they are not ignorant-they do know but their action is because they are like that.
Different speaker this time, sounded a lot like journalist Harry Fear didn´t he?
Yes, the old voice was more sarcastic and funny, had more character, although the new one is not bad.
I could get used to this friendly, down-to-earth Aussie voice. It reminded me of the great John Pilger. Don’t think that all Aussies are like that cretin Abbott or the other political poodles. Most of them are sensible and think for themselves. Above all, they are great believers in fairness.
Kiwi I think?
I’m from Australia and I have to say that dude does not sound one bit Aussie. Doesn’t sound much like a Kiwi either.
@ Track 7,
The accent is definitely from the Oceania nether region.
[Note from Moderation: OK, problem has been solved. I think I recovered all the initial comments. Sorry for the inconvenience.]
I don’t know if it is “Harry Fear” speaking or not, but I’ll miss the voice of the previous guy. Maybe he is just taking a rest. :-)
Please bring back the previous narrator!
this guys voice is not nearly SNARKY ENUFF. ill concede that to the old comentator, but on the plus side, I UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING HE SAID.
i think the sweet-spot compromise would be this british guy VOICE COACHING the ukrainian guy on his pronounciation…
re: SouthStream March 2nd: I am so glad that you have not lost your sly sense of humor with the addition of the more polished voice for which I am grateful because I can understand the sound track much better!
Why I don’t like anything British, especially their voices?
Because they are British. Their voices carry superficial superiority.
If they aren’t from the lower classes, Bob Hoskins, Michael Caine, I instantly am repulsed.
Simple as that. Brits are twits. Just watch 10 seconds of BBC and see if you don’t lose your lunch.
I don’t know how it is today, but in the past Aussies used to have problems with the English, especially the upper classes. Some of them had an attitude to the UK. BBC:s English is snobbish and I don’t like it either, but this mans language is ok, imo. Let us agree to disagree.
@ Mats,
Q: Their voices carry superficial superiority.
R: What?! How about us #$%&'()!”# Yanks?!!!!!!
Them too.
nobody likes british accent -surprisingly only british are not aware of this.

Like the other commentators don’t like the new voice.
Just reminds me of MSM media and therefore less trustworthy
Content gives very little analysis. Is it a headache for Putin because the west say so? Or because the Russians say so?
After a few days, and the parade, a few remarks:
While Nemtsov was enjoying her company, this man faced devastating defeat, and after all, his rival was still a ´moskal´, political friend or not…
´Bond girls´ can be very dangerous when you are not James Bond… James Bond he was not…
I like your analysis .. Its one of the best so far .. and that we all can understand.
Re the choreographic flag aspect:
Just perfect!
Hong Kong was two years in the making, 1000 students and leaders prepared overseas, sent back to start the Yellow Umbrella revolution.
People in Mong Kok reacted appropriately. They dumped feces and urine down on the “students”.
1.5 million Hong Kong citizens signed a counter petition.
US will give it a few more tries, then “martyr” some one appropriate.
Anna, the escort, might get an outcall to the Royal Colony, as it was called when the British held it and never had an election for anything.
All these spontaneous outbursts for Democracy are engineered by the US.
When real freedom fighters rise up, we bomb them, torture and destroy their movements. (See Sandinistas, FMLN, etc, etc.)
@ Mats,
Q: His sweetheart was also sleeping with a nazi batallion commander.
R: I think that’s a bit tough when she was straddling down a bridge in Mos
sheepcow.
@ Daniel Rich,
I concur with you.
Very strange indeed. She came out of the shooting with not a scratch.
Perhaps, she was paid handsomely ( or threatened ) to take him there.

I still don´t think it was a false flag. The man was politically dead, and a nobody in the west.
Nobody in the west will remember him in a month from now, although it will be irritating to constantly find his name in MSM articles, as ´proof´ that Putin is a killer.
Sorry about that long block of text. I forgot the spacing code. My weak excuse is that being old, senile and a guy, I don’t multitask very well. ;)
Thanks, K.K. I’ll do that.

“The loss of such a devoted colleague, especially associated with the most significant projects of the enemy, in such a dangerous time is irreplaceable. ” etc…
an interesting perspective??
Oh please the man was irrelevant politically.
These fantasy stories make him more important than he was in the later years of his life.
Just wait for the investigation to conclude
But intelligence agencies and mafias switch bodies all the time. Frank Sturgis said it out loud. The truth may never be known.
Eight Spanish citizens have been arrested in Spain. They are suspected of having fought for Novorossiya. They face prison sentences, I am afraid.

Couldn’t understand a single word! Was that Swahili?
#BRING-BACK-THE-VOICE!
My 2 cents : I miss the other voice. True, he was a bit fast but it had spunk.
I liked the accent of the other guy.
On the topic of Boris N. getting killed:
He was a frisky man with the women.
The diminutive of Vladimir is Vova, not Vlad.
I thought the diminutive of Vladimir it was Volya.
Katherine (katya)
So you will see the “before” that the photoshopping stated with.
so you think it was a set-up photo. hmmm
I wonder if it still informed people of his character.
The former voice sounded like the comedian , Yakov Smirnov. I preferred him.
Bring back ‘THE VOICE’!
I loved his witty slavic accented sarcasm!!!!
I liked this guy’s voice, but was hoping for something a little more Canadian or South African — Get out of my face.
Hi Anon, I think you have the wrong conversation here.
Can we please have the original voice for the videos, please.
@ Seward,
Walter Reed is filled with broken soldiers [physically, mentally] that have no place to go. I guess its the brass not wanting to fight another war for the Apartheid State.
Hear hear! bring back ‘The Voice’. Used to very much enjoy the understated sarcastic undertone!
Yes, agree. Totally lost the sarcasm, which was the most effective thing in the videos. Sarcastic imagery seemed to be a little toned down too. Previous videos were hilarious.
The voice, please; the voice.
I loved that guy!!
I much much much much prefer that voice. Please don’t ever bring back the other voice. Please.
Agree.
So do I.
The 23-year old Ukrainian prostitute who witnessed Nemtsov’s killing refused to give testimony under polygraph:
http://rusnovosti.ru/posts/365697
Moreover, besides “servicing” Nemtsov, she is also a mistress of the odious Yuri Bereza, the commander of the ZioNazi battalion “Dnepr-1”, who is also a member of “supreme Rada” (their “parliament”):
https://versia.ru/sputnica-borisa-nemcova-okazalas-lyubovnicej-komandira-polka-dnepr-1-yuriya-berezy
About the killing, she “… could not explain anything to the investigators, claiming loss of memory …”
Me too, I prefer “the Voice”, despite some lack of understanding, but he is so funny….
Hi does anyone know where there is a subtitled version of this around https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqFeE653Oaw please. The latest from Nilolai Starikov.
The -False Flag- embodies the total action.
It Begins with: The CIA/MOSSAD/MI-5, murders/assassinates, or waits for an appropriate event, and thennnnnn…..
Followed by the “New York Times” (most important Oligarch propaganda mouthpiece), headline articles (verb), and continues with a “quote of the day,” http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/02/world/europe/march-in-moscow-to-honor-putin-critic-boris-nemtsov.html?ref=todayspaper
For the Democratic Republics! IMAGINE

That accent sounds terrible.
Happy with the new voice
Article a week old but good to look back on what recently happened in argie, since the m.o. there looks to be the same as nemtsov—getting rid of useful idiots who’ve outlived their usefulness.
must be getting late here when they’re down to jettisoning the empty baggage.
In this regard, Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s showdowns with her opponents are similar to Vladimir Putin’s showdowns with Russian oligarchs and politicians that wanted to subordinate Russia to Wall Street and Washington, as well as Western Europe’s capitals and financial hubs.

btw, u can find on u-tube a lecture up by jordan maxwell wherein he details the symbology & significance of “red square” & appropriately timed blood sacrifices to the controllers.
u’ll have to find it yourself! i heard it a few years ago & remembered now, but he has hundreds of hours up there, & more on his site.
We did.
@ Katherine,
Q: The broadcast is in English.
I’m with you on this one.
OT but interesting. A Texan fighting for Novorossia.

New voice is a great improvement.
The original speaker was witty and full of enthusiasm but the enjoyment was marred because much of the thrust of the reports was lost as a result of the difficulty in understanding.
Given the tragic circumstances involved, perhaps it is more appropriate to treat the subject seriously.
To All:
I urge everyone to please watch this documentary to fully understand what the “Empire of Chaos” is doing in Ukraine and worldwide.
In my opinion is one of the most important documentaries you will watch in your life.

You are welcome.
Thank you. Every word from video link you posted is the absolute truth.
Thank you for the seminal papers of 2006.

Johan,
I liked the advert starting in that video.’Parasite cleanse’,priceless.
#Nemtsov murder route reconstitution.

Some actual CCTV of them at the GUM mall, some maps with animated finale using visualization software to recreate.
Any linguistic schooled individual out there who can confirm the following to be true [or false]; We, CyberBerkut, have gained access to the files on the mobile device of the Green Group PMC official who recently visited Kiev as a member of American military delegation.
Thank you in advance
This is one of the documents confirming that the Ukrainian army becomes a branch of US Armed Forces. The amount of expenses is amazing. What is much astonishing, almost one million dollars is assigned for opening “linguistic laboratories” and purchasing text-books for them. Undoubtedly, it is what Ukrainian Armed Forces need today. They all need English to understand Washington’s orders more quickly.
I found the above when I scrolled the cyberberkut site.
I burst out laughing – even though it isn’t actually funny.
And I’m not on Prozac.
@ Eimar Clark.
Thanks. Appreciated.
Afu can also more easily understand those baptist messages on the supplied recorders discoverd in Donbass
‘Lupus est homo homini.’
Only Natoists had a reason to kill Nemtsov
I’m sorry (happy) Carmel by the Sea, after watching the video promoted, I just had to listen to: this – I hope you understand. It even mixed quite well with your video.
@Dan,
I don’t understand.
A difference of cultural background, mother tongue, between you and I may be the obstacle.
As the Americans used to say : ” speak plainly”.
@ Sanctuary One,
Q; very slight hints of Aussie and/or S.Africa.
R: I think you’re on to something here. The way he pronounced the word ‘murder’ dis have that Ozzie ring to it, but maybe the SA angle is a viable one as well.
Now I’m really curious :o)
So many words, so little content… Do you yourself actually understand what you re saying?
I agree … so much hot air devoted to which ‘speaker’ us arm chair warriors like or dislike.
As we say on Oz… ‘Get a life’ … in other words let’s focus on the real issues and be thankful that somebody is trying to give us current news of Novorussia.
And my 2 cents worth… the speaker does not have Aussie accent.
The Zionist Murdock (yes.. his mother was of that ilk, but pretended to be Anglican) press here are full of ‘Putin did it’ BS. Give me a vomit bag!!
Oops …another comment got front of me and put my message out of sequence.
I agree with BOT TAK … not the annoying annon mouse.
Another comment got in front of mine… I agree with Bot Tak…. not the annoying anno mouse.
I agree too!
