Julian so far they just paid something $385 mill from memory,and Gazprom has received it. WE have not been told if that’s a debt payments or an advance. The official daily figures show their storage is at 41% so they don’t actually need any just yet. I seem to recall the early December (was meant to be the 3rd) was prepayment in case they need any before January 1. So this pays for that and the debt they have to make some payment on. They seem to have enough to get to the end of the month; other places ie Slovakia seem to have stopped the reverse flow.
Putin is not a monster. He won’t cut off Europe. But he will not-cut them in some very obvious way, so they KNOW he’s doing them a huge favour (ungrateful bastards putting sanctions on the hand that warms them).
I am still a lot more worried about Kiev. All those new (third hand junk) tanks they just got, and if they get the next tranche of IMF next week… I am not at all sure they WILL withdraw the 15 miles.
Or only if they plan to use some weapons that go further than that. And they would have to do some terrible false flag to justify it. This is one year I’ll be very happy to see Christmas been and gone, it’s a danger time.
