Russians who volunteered to fight in Donbass feel betrayed at Putin’s unwillingness to send in troops, threaten to assist in Russian color revolution during the upcoming “hard winter” for Russians.
If Putin has listened to the Russian people and patriotic officials, rather than oligarchs and Western-oriented compradors, he would have sent in “peacekeeping troops” to protect the residents of Donbass. Ukraine would never have risked attacking the regular Russian army, MH17 would not have been shot down, Putin would be a hero, and over 6,000 ethnic Russians would still be alive. Instead, he dragged Russia into a no-win conflict and got his country hammered with worse sanctions than if he had done a Crimea-style annexation of Donbass.
blue: I cannot verify if the quoted text was indeed published as official FT article, because if I click the link (also in a “private” FireFox window without older cookies) it redirects me to a page where they enforce registration and payment.
If the written text is indeed authentic, then the western “F”ress’ (Fresse == german word for animal’s mouth) would at least admit, that all they claims of Russia’s armed forces having invaded Ukraine were nothing but dumb lies repeated 1000 times. That by itself would be good.
Therefore I’m a bit sceptical, if that’s really part of the article.
Trolling: Sometimes one want’s to re-share a link because it looks good, at closer inspection you suddenly figure out it was a hostile disinformation grenade. I had such a case just yesterday.
One must be extremely careful, even if this costs time.
As for the content of above words: I know that it would have been a mistake, had Putin re-united Donabass the Crimean style. For all the various reasons we have read and discussed here. One of them is, that the average population of DonBass was much less ready and in a modd for it, thatn in Crimea. The other, that DonBas didn’t have Crimea’s Referendums (1991 and 1994) and hence didn’t have any sort of own constitution and autonomy. And thirdly, all blame for the bloodshed would be directed to Russia and Putin. Because while MSM has a complete blackout regarding the terrible loss of life in DonBass, had Russia invaded the West would have shown everything, night and day, and would blame the “new Hitler” for it. Also, of the Iwan sixpacks in DonBass would or could ever have imagined, that Kiev would shoot against civilians, and bomb entire refgions into dust and DEATH. Nobody could imagine that.
So, had Putin invaded, uninformed people in DonBass would tend to believe western propaganda.
And maybe there would now be an uprising against “Russian occupation”.
All that said: Unfortunately, I (and I bet many) had been wishing for Russia to send in peace keepers back in Mai 2014, and for recognizing DNR and LNR from day 1.
Because look how far NATO has meanwhile polluted all of Eastern EU and Western Rump-Ukraine …
What does this mean for future chances to do anything?
Sorry for the spelling errors, missed words and resulting poor quality.

The costs and risks of invading Ukraine, and disruption to a long term strategy, has been discussed thoroughly here and elsewhere, so I won’t repeat it. As far as color revolution that’s a delusional bad joke from Nuland and Company (or maybe she is just relaying it from The Company).
Don’t know what ‘hard winter’ is supposed to refer to. Russians are used to shoveling away eight feet of snow, fascist invasions, and attempts to isolate and bankrupt them from the empire, and handle it all in stride.
I also see a bunch of posts about ‘NATO will easily win a war against Russia, looking again to be talking points for the week by some propagandist fiction writer and assistant coordinator.
As for the risks of an invasion you are undoubtedly 100% right. Yes, that’s undeniable, period.
Although one would really want to day-dream it was different.
Instead of 6000 victims we could be in the millions by now.
(To those who disagree: Look at what Gleiwitz or Kuwait have unleashed)
Donbass was a trap set-up by NATO permitting the West to invade and destroy Russia (or: to attempt this yet another time).
It looks like this was NATO’s true schedule for 2014.

It’s possible to get around paywalls by entering the article’s title into the google search box, surround it with double quotes and search. That allowed me to read that piece of propaganda. Indeed, it was rather funny, and no citation was provided confirming Moscow’s really worried about these returning volunteers–100% conjecture and the usual propaganda talking points.
It nevertheless makes little sense to me, as to _why_ FT has published this.
Not enough Anti-Russian fiction in it . It appears the West has reached the final stages of mental illness, if such a post can pass their censorship wall.
This should worry us the more so, because such freaks may one day press the button (the western controllers).
The firewall things is silly, not that I’d read FT unless directed there by a link anyway, but it it indicates arrogance to think that they should not try to get new subscribers by showing what they have, or letting advertisers show their wares. Interesting: Here the same! The url works indeed only if directly called from google.

As to the subscription model: Normally from that type of western hatred distributing MSM propaganda “newspaper” I know it differently, that you can read the first 20 or so articles completely without registration and only then get redirected to such a blocking wall. For example on ZioNaziAnglodirt http://www.welt.de the first 20 (per calendar-month) articles are free. And because of this regime they need to handle it via cookies. Hence there is an easy workaround: Open it in a private tab/window, then everything opens.
However, this is mostly theory (maybe it helps somebody), because since November 2013 I never again tried to read them (before that time it was still interesting because at least they reported/betted against the EUR). Anyway: In the US colony called “germany” most “established” newspapers no longer permit anyone to leave reader’s comments on Ukraine related content. Either not at all, or some others clearly have paid AntiRussia trolls now. And those who still provide the option to leave a comment, censor out all Pro-Russian opinions, probably 80% or more of their real input stream. But in contrast to GB, US or Australian newspapers, in germany absolutely no good comments get through the fence anymore. Complete Orwellian 1984. And sadly, while I still had hope a year ago, meanwhile all sheeple have been completely re-programmed regarding Ukraine. What a pathetic country here. There is also a lot of silent support for Russia’s position, but meanwhile maybe only 2(Russia) to 8(West).
Excuse me please, where is the embassy of the CCCP? I would like to emigrate …
I might be able to figure out a way to read the thing, but I don’t think reading any of the MSM is worth it any more. There are much better sources, and it’s annoying (I never listen to US politician speeches either), so what would the point be? To know they are still lying? Same reasoning I never watch TV — it’s garbage (and they want big money for it).
re: “What does this mean for future chances to do anything?”
Good question. The US/NATO are going to build a wall from the Baltics to Odessa. How does Russia propose to break that? Name a country in there that will not have a political establishment that does America’s bidding. It doesn’t matter much if the people in Odessa all want to move to Russia or dislike the US, what matters is control of the institutions of state, and things like the media. Those will be totally dominated by the US for the foreseeable future. Sure, the economy in the Ukraine may drop 10% a year for years, but so what? The collapse in Russia in the 1990’s was a win for the US, and a decline in the Ukraine may be a win as well. Notice the privatization in the Ukraine now – no Russians or Ukrainians can bid.
No way to avoid it.
That’s why they may put me in prison earlier or later.

On July 20, 2015, UK Prime Minister David Cameron delivered a major speech to justify ongoing wars on “extremism.” Supporting corporate media analyses are here, here, here, here; with some honesty from George Monbiot, with a 1-minute corporate media cry for more military armed attacks “on this evil”:
Cameron’s speech promotes the UK “Extremist Bill” that bans all media (such as you’re reading now), and sends police to close any organization dictated by government as “extremist” (honest analyses by Glenn Greenwald and via Washington’s Blog). UK Home Secretary Theresa May spins Orwellian for government dictatorial power to criminalize “extremism” in a 12-minute BBC interview.
I’m pasting the transcript from their site. I think the transcripts should be posted with the videos. It seems the Ukraine side generally has more killed. In this report Kiev had 8 killed while the Novorossiyans had 1:
DPR Defense Ministry recorded 44 ceasefire violations by the Kiev side over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian forces used heavy artillery, battle tanks and other arms and military equipment.
The most intense artillery and mortar shelling was at the Donetsk airport and the nearby village of Spartak. The shelling was carried out from the positions of pro-Kiev militants in Opytnoye and Avdeyevka. Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk, Gorlovka, Zhabunki, Lozovoye, Sakhanka, Sanzharovka, Nizhneye Lozovoye, Kalinovka and Zheleznaya Balka came under fire.
3 intense clashes were observed at the contact line of LPR. There were 2 fights around a bridge from Bolotennoe to Sizoe around Stannica Luganskaya and 1 clash around the sector of Sokolniki-Krimskoe. The side’s use almost all accessible arms and equipment instead of MLRSes. Since yesterday 21 Novorossian warrior have been injured and 1 killed. Also, LPR Armed forces lost 1 APC. In turn, Kiev’s side lost 8 militants killed, 26 injured, 1 IFV destroyed and 1 battle tank damaged.

Why does the FT not report that the trial of those accused of shooting people in Maidan is taking place?
Is it too obvious that the wrong people are being accused?
The process is a total farce, and the prosecution has “lost” bullets extracted from the corpses. MH-17 all over again!
