@Whoever,
it is because the South Front youtube account kept getting suspended / deleted. Apparently the info warriors for the Kiev side were very active in making spurious complaints.
And, South Front, thank you very much for applying some compression. Used to be >100MB, and now down to a very reasonable 9MB.
I am so sick of reading these stupid comments at the beginning of every South Front video posted now. about you tube and blah blah blah….it takes about 3 seconds for it to load…then you move the arrow back to the beginning and listen to the music without interruption…pretty soon I hope the moderators start zapping these complaints,.
Beloved sister Ann, you may be missing the point. Instead of being sick of these comments you may wish to absorb their import – which is that something is impaired at the structural level, and maybe could be fixed.
The interface sucks, to be frank. You only know this if you’re on limited bandwidth or limited CPU computing power. Many people in the world and in the US fit this description. The essence of good IT is to make the delivery lean – offer a rich experience by all means, but offer a lean fallback also.
They broke the internet code – are we supposed to applaud this? I’m glad you can view these videos as a simple consumer, embedded as they are in the Saker post – but please understand that your privilege doesn’t reflect reality, it merely obfuscates it.
Please bring your compassion to bear on this – people are trying to make a point for a reason. When they keep saying it sucks, they are hoping that South Front will hear this. They are hoping that you will support this.
I really like the Southfront videos and am pleased that they have been put on an independent website instead of depending on something like YouTube for streaming. At least that way no one can cut them off. YouTube has become so political and pressures everyone to jam advertising into their videos even if the trolls don’t go after the content.
(Just ask my completely apolitical girlfriend about the trouble she’s had from them because of her crochet swimwear videos.)
The narration about the Ukie attempted sale of a Kalashnikov to an OSCE observer was completely garbled with some irrelevant footage: one couldn’t tell whether it was actually showing the guy who was selling the Kalashnikov, and whether the OSCE observer shown on film was the prospective buyer. If attempts at “humor” were omitted these reports would be more informative.
The visuals are indicative, not actual. These are not “for the record of history”. They are satirical briefings to help people digest the horror and grasp the incidents of the day.
Thus, you should not want them to be like other sources. Col. Cassad has the straight stuff. Life News, Ruptly, Voice of Sevastopol, Rusvesna.su are other sources for the straight stuff.
Whether one “should want” or need “help to digest” and “grasp” “these Onion/Monty Python style reports” obviously depends greatly on age, no debate there.
From Mark Sveboda FB page:Is Kiev finaly rising up?
”Unreported by Western press gushing about 300 LGBT protesters at #KievPrride, thousands of people marched in Kiev demanding the resignation of the Ukrainian government and Poroshenko.”
Poor Heidi. Seems she was very upset by the rudeness of some ‘ negotiating parties.’
Possibly folk who have to put up with being bombarded, their homes destroyed, people – including children – being killed while this bunch of bean-counters fudge the truth?
She should count herself lucky she hasn’t been lynched.
“De facto, the 2 June meeting of the contact group could have hardly be called effective. The parties failed to reach a compromise on a number of significant issues, including the procedural clearing of prisoners preparing for the exchange, as well as changes to the Ukrainian Constitution and the holding of elections in the Donbass. In this case each party has consistently defended its point of view, and the Kiev side was a little more uncompromising. In the end, Tagliavini made the decision that day to conclude the work of the contact group and move the discussion tentatively to 16 June, upon which, most likely, she made the decision about her exit, obviously feeling the pressure of one of the parties”, – a source in the group that organized the Minsk meeting told “Interfax” on Saturday.
She was the one trying to make them talk sensibly instead of physically assaulting each other in the discussions. Why should she be lynched?
In fact when Serbia took over the (rotating) leadership of OSCE in January, she specifically asked to remain on the Ukraine team, so as not to waste a new person’s time getting to understand the people and situation.
What to report, how to report it, generally what the scope of their activities is, is set down in documents that form their mandate. These are decided by OSCE central leadership somewhere, not by the team leaders. The observer team is given the rules they have to operate by.
To my eyes, their reports are a bit less one-sided now than 6=8 months ago. Must make a difference that they’ve come under fire several times, and always when they were on DPR locations.
I love the South Front video productions. I hate this new player, which is a truly retarded feature, in that it is a step backwards for ease of video consumption. But moving to solutions…
People can bookmark this and go to it each time we see one of these updates embedded here, in order to get the YouTube direct link for the video (better streaming), which in this case is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bUr_Uv3bmg
Does anyone know who are the people behind the El Murid livejournal site and kungurov.info (also on livejournal) ? I can’t find enough relevant information in English, and from the translations I got their writing seems rather weird.
Kiev is still stumm about Maryinka, they claimed at the time they lost 4 or 5 men? DPR is still loudly insisting it was hundreds. And 1000 wounded.
So, is it true? if so they didn’t just use a few tanks; must have hit an ammunition dump OR a very large dug-in fortification with a lot of people in it. It is openly declared by Kiev they brought in 2 lots of reinforcements. Was that because the first ones were all dead?
Or did DPR lose too many, and needs to exaggerate the Kiev numbers to make their own look better?
About time for some phone videos to start leaking out.
“Donetsk, 5 Jun DAN. Losses of the Ukrainian security forces in Marinka has led to the fact that the morgues of the neighboring cities were overcrowded, said today the Head of the DND Alexander Zakharchenko.
“Mortuaries are packed in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Krasnoarmeysk, even the refrigerators t the meat works in Kurakhovo,” said he.
Earlier, Zakharchenko said that the loss of the APU in Marinka was at least 400 people killed.”
Why have you stopped putting youtube links?

Then, why doesn’t South Front use Rutube.ru for streaming content?

Lucky indeed!… Interfax adds:

This is truly timeless. Americans before, during and after Bush…

wasn’t quite sure what that was about. Selling military equipment on black market perhaps…got caught..?
