Dear friends,
I couple of short ones today.
First, according to the EU Parliament member Wolfgang Gerke (sp?) the EU is debating making a list of Russian journalists to be barred from entering the EU. Banderastan already has such a black list with 35 names. So much for “democratic” and “European” “free speech” values. The Russian press is openly laughing.
Feel the love! |
Second, those who had any doubts about where the Vatican stood on the civil war in the Ukraine now can simply the article entitled “A Church with verve is at risk in Ukraine” on the website Crux (thanks AB!). Apparently, the defeat of the Nazi Junta puts the Uniats at risk because, quote, “Greek Catholics have also become prominent players in national affairs. They were major proponents of Ukraine’s Orange Revolution in 2004/2005, and helped lead the Maidan protests earlier this year that swept pro-Moscow President Viktor Yanukovych from power“.
Oh well, karma is a scary bitch I suppose :-)
Third, a lot of your have been posting comments and sending me emails about Evgenii Fedorov’s predictions that a purge will soon happen. Alas, I have to disappoint you. While Fedorov seems to be a very nice guy and a sincere patriot, I don’t find him credible at all and I would recommend you take everything he says with a big amount of salt. I don’t have the time to post a full refutation of his views, but just ask yourself the following: if the Novorussian authorities began printing their own currency, would you buy it? QED.
Fourth at least, I leave you with yet another CrossTalk. Sorry to post yet another CrossTalk right after posting one yesterday, but that is all Peter Lavelle’s “fault”: his shows are too good and the latest one is also spot on: the Bear – Dragon strategic alliance is by far the most important geostrategic development of the last couple of years.
Enjoy!

The US will cancel the last round of sanctions if Russia fulfills the Minsk Protocol aka capitulation. To be more precise, Mary Harf, State Department spokeswoman, said that “if Russia FULLY realizes the agreements reached in Minsk on September 5, this will open a road for recalling the last round of sanctions. We need to see [first] if the Minsk agreement and its 12 steps described in the ceasefire agreement are going to be fulfilled. In case of additional actions toward escalation, new sanctions will take place.”
In other words, the US has thus confirmed that the Minsk protocol is a US document and a US dictate, and that it means capitulation and NOT a success of Russian diplomacy (whether as a sabotage, self-sabotage, or a successful experiment or test) or as nothing to worry about. These latter two sophisms were used to sell it even by Russia’s and Putin’s professed friends: either as yet another brilliant move of Lavrov’s men or as something unimportant and useless (i.e., as a “toilet paper).
Saker,
please please please find some time to address Fedorov, not just in respect to this particular video, but also to his general message (i.e. things like “Russia is an occupied country” etc).
I think it would be very interesting to a lot of people.
p.s. I would also would like to hear your take on НОД (national liberation movement) and the party ПВО.

Crazed Western Ukies kneeling in worship at the awe of returning Cargo “200”.
Even American warmongers don’t act this crazy.
A question – to anyone – in regards to the ISIS beheadings in Syria.
Can anyone provide me with a video link to show these beheadings??
Anywhere???
All I can find are the before monologues of the “prisoners” and “Jihad John” and then after shots of heads on bodies.
Where is the actual video of the head being beheaded??????
Can’t find a video anywhere – someone please provide a link.
The whole ISIS beheadings are becoming more and more suspicious when you see the US/UK/Aussie/ Others rush to war against ISIS.
Clearly the target is Assad in Syria.
The wait is on because of the Scottish referendum. The Scots really need to vote YES as a rejection of US/UK warmongering.
Will they? Or will they be scared into line?
Personally I think they’ll be scared into line – but once they are, Cameron & Obama will up the rhetoric on ISIS in Syria/ Iraq and onward we march towards war.
Next couple of weeks is really crucial.
Does Putin have the cojones to go to the UN General Assembly next week and expose the lies and cover-ups on:
MH17
Kiev/ Maidan Snipers
ISIS
ISIS beheadings
and perhaps even other things like 9/11?
Does he?
I don’t know. If he doesn’t, he won’t long be the leader of Russia.
Clearly US/UK want war – and they want it soon – in October. (POMO – QE is set to end in October – handy eh)
One thing I do know – we will know in 2 months whether Russia/ China plan on offering any resistance to the Anglo-Zionist Empire.
Syria must be saved.
Once Assad is gone – Iran is next – and they have no proxy in Syria to cause trouble. (And Iran will likely be blockaded and targeted mere weeks after Assad is toppled).
Surely the Iranians & Russians realise this? Time is running short.

ZNG were nothing like Ustashe. ZNG was simply the first step in establishing a Croatian army in 1991.
Excellent show – so refreshing to see intelligent discourse.
Also, kudos Saker to an excellent blog. I have read most of it and you have some truly excellent series, including that one on Russia and Islam that opened my eyes to a world I had not imagined. Keep it up!
Thanks
The thought of scrip occurred to me also.
It’s not really a question of who would buy it, but how it would be dispersed and implemented — and if it would be required for certain uses (such as taxes or fees paid to the Novorossia government).
To some extent, the question of backing might come into play, and for fiat money that involves the stability and expectations for the new government. Yet, it worked well for the US Continental currency until the British oligarchs flooded the country with counterfeit.
Scrip is used in the US by various towns for local exchange, and in various ‘merchant dollar’ schemes. It can work quite well.
What’s the alternative? Ukrainian money, which Kiev can control, and is likely to nosedive anyway? Rubles or some other foreign currency — and how would that be obtained? But people need something to use.
This is a question I’d love to hear Michael Hudson comment on.

Russian oil and gas are badly needed by the European economy, and there is NO alternative that could replace it for yet another few years and hundreds of billions worth of investment (LNG terminals/pipelines). Europe’s producers export huge volumes of goods to Russia’s approx. 150 million people, and Russians are not shy to spend on things they like, this is a hard market to replace. It’s easier to find a supplier than a customer. So far it’s not looking good for Europe.
Alternatively Russia doesn’t require anything from Europe that it absolutely needs, that it can’t get from Latin America, or Asia. The deepest hit to Russia is its dependence on Western capital markets, primarily the fact that it has evolved its economic systems integrated within the western framework. That problem is being worked out with ‘war time’ speed. Russia and China have already made several visits this year, a new network is being built as we speak.
Russia simply needs to clean up it’s own house and it will thrive.
Additional note…
one does not ‘buy’ money. One earns it by work, or one borrows it. There are 2 kinds of money: endogenous (for the private sector), which is created by banks (and is inherently inflationary because of interest), and exogenous, which is created by the government through the government’s central bank, and borrowed or spent into existence — spent is the good way to do this. This depends on a functioning central bank and the country having a banking system to distribute it.
See ‘Modern Monetary Theory’, http://neweconomicperspectives.org/ , and http://neweconomicperspectives.org/ for more information and understanding on this — money is not what most people think: it is an instrument of law (legal tender). Other things used for exchange are commodities, even if widely used and accepted.
Novorossia can creat fiat money and it will be used as long as it has sufficient government infrastructure and political power — but it can create useful scrip even without that.

I would suggest you avoid MMT; which supports the current private bank centric system. Consider researching those organizations which support real monetary reform. The FED in the US is not its central bank but a private bank of private banks in the US. Please don’t lead others down a wrong path.
The show predates the Summit of SCO in Dushanbe.
Pepe had already said that:
“The real deal this September is not NATO. It’s the SCO’s summit. Expect the proverbial tectonic shifts of geopolitical plaques in the upcoming meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization – a shift as far-reaching as when the Ottoman empire failed at the gates of Vienna in 1683. On the initiative of Russia and China, at the SCO summit, India, Pakistan, Iran and Mongolia will be invited to become permanent members. Once again, the battle lines are drawn. NATO vs SCO. NATO vs BRICS. NATO vs Global South.
(Asia Times, World, Sep 3, ’14, THE ROVING EYE: NATO attacks!/By Pepe Escobar
What happened at the Summit confirmed, even went over the predictions. That’s why the Western MSM is mute about. A non-event! I mentioned already in a previous post the silence of the Australian media (which should be more interested of what happened in its own self-styled “backyard” than of the fate of the Devil worshipers).
@Malcolm Donald: With regard your comment on Fedorov may I suggest you go to
WOW! A very powerful and very well made video I had not seen and which is really what I would call “the core of Putin”. Kudos to Fedorov and his movement for making it.
Please get me right – Fedorov and I probably agree on most goals and values, we are definitely on the “same side of the barricade”, but I cannot say that I am impressed by his analyses which I find superficial and, no offense intended, simplistic. He does a lot of good stuff, with the Duma for example, and I have nothing against him, but he is does have a tendency to go into a “panic mode” which I don’t like. Now, he is WAAAY better then Dugin, but both have this tendency to go “the house is burning! the house is burning!” when was it needed is slow, painstaking and meticulous daily work towards the goal. Does what I say make sense to you?
Cheers and thanks again for the very interesting video!

Is it surprising that the Catholic Church (Jesuits?) are in the background stirring up trouble in the Ukraine, trying to separate Orthodox brethren from one another? This reminds me of L. Fletcher Prouty and Avro Manhattan’s description of the real cause of the Vietnam War, which was the Catholic Church’s machinations of (1) imposing a Catholic president on a Buddhist country and (2) forcibly immigrating en masse all the northern Vietnamese Catholics to the south to instantly create an alien ruling class. As a consequence, the indigenous people all became “Viet Cong” to be “pacified” as Communist insurrections. I guess Ukraine is looking straight out of the Catholic Church’s playbook.
Dear Saker,
I have been reading and enjoying your blog for some time now but I do not quite understand your angle on Fedorov or his views in general.
Having watched a few of Fedorovs videos it is quite evident that Strelkov’s “calling out the 5th column” isn’t exactly a mind blowing event, seeing as how Fedorov etc. constantly addresses the bigger picture.
Would you please point me to something that is far fetched in his statements? coming putsch/his general view?
In my eyes this has already slowly been happening with the restrictions put on state officials that have investments abroad .. the bringing back of neutral and pro Russian funds. The inflow of gold with a possible Altin / Gold backed currency. i.e. economic reinforcement before a possible storm.
Switzerland is holding a vote this year to bring back the gold standard..
Also it is not unthinkable that a “5th column” assessment of figures is being undertaken, as is one of the main points of Fedorov.
Similar events have happened. One that came to mind is an event that was pointed out by Yuri Bezmenov who was a KGB defector in the 80s. (even if this example is on the extreme side)
“[It’s the] same way as in the small town of Huế in South Vietnam, several thousands of Vietnamese were executed in one night when the city was captured by [the] Vietcong for only two days. And [the] American CIA could never figure out how [the Communists could possibly] know [of] each individual, where he lives, where to get him; and [how would they] be arrested in one night basically in some four hours before dawn, put in a van, taken out of the city limits and shot?
The answer is very simple: Long before [the] Communists occupied the city, there was [an] extensive network of informers, local Vietnamese citizens who knew absolutely everything about people who were instrumental in public opinion, including barbers and taxi drivers. Everyone who was sympathetic to [the] United States was executed.”
Forget ‘DPR’, ‘LPR’, ‘special status’, ‘Minsk’, ‘ceasefire’, ‘oligarchs’, ‘Putin’, etc. Let the Russian people speak. Let the Ukrainian people speak. Everybody get together, Novorossiya, nationalize all property, build the army, people’s war. Fuck the EU, the US, NATO, the Five Eyes, the Zionists, whatever. Come on people, let’s do it, let’s all work together, let’s all fight together for peace and freedom in Novorossiya and the USA.
All power to the people, right on.
“__Blue” has the right idea on currency. Saker, look at the dollar in your pocket: legal tender for all debts public and private, it reads.
That means all legal contracts and all state fees, fines, taxes can only be paid with dollars — not gold, not silver, not chickens, but only the legal tender.
It is circulated by the state as wages, pensions, aid, loans, funding.
The citizens buying and selling have to do so with the legal tender because the state demands fees and taxes from them in the legal tender. So, everyone in Novorossia must obtain the legal tender.
That’s how it works.
Fedorov was clear about it. This would not be an international currency, but the means for people to live normally, locally, in Novorossia.
What would happen in the ZPC/NWO colonies if RT and shows like Crosstalk were as common fare as Fox, NBC, CBS, BBC and all the other western propaganda outlets I’m now thankfully ignorant of?
The attempt to ban Russian journalists is probably the vanguard of what will be later an attempt to prevent Russian media sources from being seen at all in the zionazified west. That censorship against Russian sourced media has already started, in fact. One cant help thinking of the irony here. previously, it was western media that was censored in the USSR, as being a threat, now it’s the freedom in Russian media which is the threat to the zionised west.
Fedorov is a good example of this Russian threat to the zionised/nazi western order which Russian media represents, and Russia, as well. Not for what he says, but because he, and many others, both Russian and not, have access to Russian media, and do get their views heard. This is in direct contrast to the zionist western colonies where only zionist Jewish approved material is allowed to make it past the content controls now. One will see dissent in western media, but it wont be anything threatening to the zio hierarchy.
As for the whinges of Catholics regarding their choices in the Ukraine, my opinion of that repressive institution and the influence it still wields over the corrupt and the dim is the same regarding zionism and Israel. The sooner these toxic influences are neutralised, and consigned to historical study of what went wrong, like slavery and nazism, the better. Catholism was probably the most harmful social manipulation phenomena that was inflicted on the planet.

Thanks for the link to Crux, Saker. As an Eastern Orthodox (not the hybrid sort), whenever I need a fix on the Catholic world I try to find a dependable reporter, one who is either praised by the Tablet or has a “liberal Jewish wife” (Allen’s description of his) through whom, lie Manuel Valls he is ‘eternally tied.’
Allen is both so if he says the Rgensburg address was validated by the excellent beheading videos distributed by Rita Katz of SITE, that’s good enough for me.
I liked Allens description of the Catholic University in L’viv as the only one “between Poland and Japan.” He is right: why indeed are there no Catholic Universities in, say, Kazahstan, Nepal or Pakistan? Enjoyable read, this Allen fellow.
And very nice of the Pope, like everything else he does, to express concern for some well-selected Christians. I mean, Catholics. I hope he will speak out against Russia’s Orthodox Church intolerance to… I don’t know, something.

I am quite confused about the situation in Donbas. I have been looking at the battle line maps that Col Cassad has been posting. These maps show at least six cauldrons of Ukie troops inside the militia lines. My question is how are these troops being supplied? It shows the Ukies in the Donetsk airport completely surrounded for two weeks now. How are they being supplied?
It does not seem possible that those troops can sustain themselves without some outside aid.
@ Julian,
I have seen many videos of beheading By ISIS and many other groups in the “pacifists”moderate camp in Syria mostly on syrian sites but unfortunately I can’t provide you with any links because I didn’t keep them in view of the terrible horror it caused me reminding me in my youth of the head of a young boy impaled on the symbol of a mercedes in the garage of our own house, courtesy of the zionist entity and its minions. The worst video in Syria that I have watched and will remain engraved in my memory is in 2012 the one showing a young boy around 12 being encouraged by an adult to behead four syrian soldiers ,couched on the floor their head on the side walk in a street.Regarding the videos of the beheading of the three westerners that have been making the round lately, the two americans and the brit,it looked like a fake scene, what with the orange suits and all the drama, with the victims looking surreal,no trace of resistance, nor fright ,no pleading, nothing.Plus do the Isis members go around with a load of orange jumpsuits to fit them neatly on the beheaded of the day?
Regarding Assad and Syria do not be afraid they have behind them the population,a very efficient army and Assad said they have all the arms they needed curtesy of Russia.Plus they have a very strong backing regionally with Iran and Hezbollah being firmly behind them because as we say in arabic this war is a war of either survival or the end of our blessed region. As Putin one said the battle for Damascus is a battle for Moscow .Russia will Never allow the fall of Damascus.Whatever happens. So does Iran.So does Hezbollah. And under the table so does China.
BCH
I suppose one can say the federal reserve is a private central bank?
In any case google ‘control nation’s money supply’ and one finds variations of
“Give me control of a nation’s money supply, and I care not who make its laws”
– Mayer Amschel Rothschild (Founder of Rothschild Banking Dynasty)
It looks like almost everyone is attributed as having said it, in some way.
So if Kiev controls the money in Novorossia, what to do? And how to handle the 5th column and oligarchs in Russia, and elsewhere, who would control the money supply and thus control Novorossian law and politics. This is an issue that must be addressed before too long.
A gold standard doesn’t work well, BTW, because there is a limited amount of gold, which limits growth and liquidity, and it can be and often is manipulated. Money should represent the productive output, as well as the tangible wealth of a country — and that’s a bit of a problem with Novorossia as so much of the real economy has been destroyed, but it’s not hopeless.
The US and EU are facing the same problem, with it’s Ponzi schemes and dependence on military and political intimidation to hold up the currencies and petrodollar, while austerity continually degrades the real economy and unemployment soars.
I consider Michael Hudson to be the main go-to source for these issues, although there are others who have useful understanding as well, most who can be found through new economic perspectives web site. (Don’t miss the two Ozzies, Steve Keen and Bill Mitchell’s billyblog.)

Hi Saker. Please change the filename of the picture with the Uniate and the Pope. Currently it reads “GreekOrthodoxChurchC-717×450.jpg” but, as you also know well, they are neither Greek nor Orthodox despite dressing as such. Even the politically correct name for Uniates is “Greek Catholic”, not “Greek Orthodox”. (Although, again, strictly speaking, the Papal Church is not Catholic – according to the original meaning of the word, not the trademark it has become since.) Cheers.

I was baptised as a Catholic but I have little interest in the church. The replacement of the German Pope with this Jesuit is even more suspect. It has only happened once before in over 1400 + years. Why was this Jesuit installed?
I have seen the Catholic Church do nothing to help Christians in the Middle East including Syria. When it came time to defend Syrians, Putin and Russia helped out. Hezbollah and Muslims even helped. This happened as well for Coptic Christains in Egypt. I have no use for the catholic church or evangelicals who bless anything the zionists support.
I have a much great respect for the Orthodox Church including the brave Orthodox Christian leaders in NovoRussia fighting against the facists.
I would like to suggest that viewers of the “beheading” videos pay attention to the wind. Curiously, in all the videos I’ve watched the “victim’s” orange tunic is rippling rather vigorously, but the “executioner’s” garments hardly at all. There are no signs of blowing dust anywhere in the scene. IMHO, they are shot in front of a green screen with a small fan blowing on the “victim”.
Live Leak usually has the beheadings.
I’m enjoying the talk about currency, and I agree that for Novorossia to print its own is eminently sensible and practical. It’s also the signature hallmark of sovereignty.
To _Blue, I’ll offer that I think the key feature of currency is that its quantity should be known. In this way money can act as a reliable measure. In other words, the money should be fixed rather than tied to anything such as productive wealth. If the money supply varies, its variance should be known.
Gold is not perfect but because it’s of limited supply it works better than anything else as a stand-in for the theoretical perfect benchmark of value (which we don’t have yet).
I’m not a gold bug, especially, but I am a money bug. I think money is the most important piece of a nation to get right. In the US of course, we were sold out long ago.
I largely come from the work of Edwin Vieira, Jr., which I recommend to anyone who wants an understanding of money. His book, “Pieces of Eight” is the finest explanation of the history and constitutional nature of money – and what passes for money today – in the US.
Re: RT video, Bear and Dragon.
“Russian officials fear regional war may turn into a world war.”
“….the worry in Moscow is that the hotheads in the Pentagon and at Nato headquarters in Brussels will decide to start hitting Islamic State positions in Syria along with “other targets” there as well – for instance, Syrian army positions…. The threat of a regional war that could escalate into a world war was taken very seriously by the Kremlin. (Russia: We warned the Yanks about Islamic State, Alexander Nekrassov, 15 Sep 2014)
The developing strategic relationship between Russia and China may be timely.
It is important to recognise that conflicts in the Middle East are gradually expanding (currently involving Iraq, Syria, occupied Palestinian territories and (proxy war) operations by U.S., NATO, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, Turkey, etc. In addition to the expansion of current conflicts, Israel is also preparing for a large war against Hezbollah.
“the Israeli army is making plans and training for a very violent war against Hezbollah” (Israel preparing for ‘very violent’ war against Hezbollah, TV report says, September 6, 2014)
Israel is also preparing for offensive (allied if possible) operations against Iran. A more significant resultant multi-front conflagration is not only possible but recognising recent developments (mobilisation/deployment of military assets, statements of intent, etc.) is arguable probable.
p2. Many analysts anticipate U.S./NATO (and allied) air strikes and coordinated operations will expand into strikes against Syrian government forces/neutralisation of air defence systems/degradation of retaliatory capabilities as part of ongoing regime change/proxy war operations.
“Anyone who looks at the timeline of US action will see he [Obama] is now formally announcing a strategy that the United States not only had already developed in July, but partly begun to implement after the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) first made major gains back in December 2013.”[Anthony H. Cordesman, Center for Strategic and International Studies] (The war for regime-change in Syria, 13 September 2014)
There are indications that Australia may also participate in such operations.
‘Australia preparing for possible expansion of military operations into Syria’
“I don’t rule it out, but it’s not our intention at this time…. Obviously, the legalities of action in Iraq, with the full permission and the co-operation of the Iraqi government, are quite different from action in Syria which is essentially an ungoverned state with a government that we don’t actually recognise.” (Tony Abbott leaves door open to military action against Islamic State in Syria, The Age, September 16, 2014)
Syria however is not an ‘ungoverned state’ but is subject to regime change/proxy war operations. These operations are an extension of former and ongoing operations (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, etc., with active operations against Syria, N Korea, Russia, etc.). These operations involve sanctions (economic warfare), covert/proxy operations, the engineering of internal uprisings (colour revolution technology), build-up/mobilisation of military assets, expansion of military blocs/strategic alliances, information warfare, etc. Many of these actions arguably constitute acts of war.
p3. ‘U.S./NATO preparations for potential war against Russia’
“In a joint article with NATO General Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen on the same day, [U.S. General] Breedlove noted that all diplomatic efforts notwithstanding, NATO must prepare for a war with Russia.” (Ukrainian army steps up offensive in the east, 19 August 2014)
“US State Department cables released by WikiLeaks have unveiled secret NATO plans for a US-led war against Russia over the Baltic states.” (WikiLeaks Cable Exposes NATO War Plan Against Russia, December 9, 2010)
U.S./NATO military exercises Steadfast Javelin-2, Sea Breeze 2014, Immediate Response, Rapid Trident 2014, etc., and the mobilisation/deployment of military forces/assets/missile architecture clearly indicate preparations for such a situation.
(Note: U.S.-Georgian Operation Immediate Response 2008 coincided with the Georgian offensive on 08/08/2008. Covert U.S. operations against the separatist regions preceded the offensive and U.S. advisors were present throughout the conflict. Similarly, U.S. operations in Ukraine preceded the U.S./NATO backed coup and subsequent offensive military operations (U.S./NATO proxy war operations).
The U.S./NATO/Israel project of global hegemony (pursuit of ‘full spectrum dominance’) through aggressive militarism (wars of aggression/proxy wars/regime change operations, etc.) will not cease until it reaches its logical conclusion. Recognising likely approaching events, this will occur in the not too distant future. I hope that I am wrong.

@Malcolm Donald: With regard your comment on Fedorov may I suggest you go to…
Thanks for your comment on my post. I can understand that for the majority to watch a 45 minute video of Fedorov is just not on – we in the west have no attention span. But I urge you and those posting on your site to listen in full to what he says. Watch two or three times to get the clear message. It is a clear and concise exposition of how Putin and his backers will take on the full might of the US, NATO and the Oligarchs in both Russia and the Ukraine including the Black Sea. In the UK this video by Federov has just been removed from the Youtube site. Fortunately I have retained a copy in my iMovie file.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqLMG0KD3ri
On the Novorossian currency issue: Why not issue a gold and/or silver-pegged currency, in combination with circulating gold and silver coins? That would make a stir for sure – it would be the talk of the financial world, and do more to stimulate in interest in the Novorossian economy than practically any other imaginable single measure.
This point reminds me of an issue which has long puzzled me – why the Russian govt chooses not to challenge the dollar printing scam and the long-standing gold/silver suppression racket. It seems to me that this is an obvious Achilles heel which could impact the Empire severely.
Sure, linking the ruble to gold and/or silver in combination with a purchase of several hundred billions dollars worth of bullion would also impact the ability of the Russian govt to finance itself, but its impact on the Empire would be far greater. Right now gold costs around $40 million/ton. With $200 billion Russia could buy 5000 tons of gold or 325000 tons of silver… if so much is even available on the market, which I somewhat doubt. I can understand that the govt in Beijing is still hesitant to take this step, but at this point, what has Russia got to lose? Be that as it may, if that is still not in the cards, implementing it first on a small scale in Novorossia could have a salutary deterrent effect.
The Catholics of Galichina have supported Maidan (naturally) but there has been no official support from the Vatican, not even in the beginning, when Francis advised dialogue between the “institutions and civil society”.
From other remarks by the pope you may conclude that he is actually in opposition against the empire, and I suspect he is as disgusted by the junta as any decent human being. For political reasons, he can obviously not get rid of Shevchuk, who has the support of the Ukrainian Catholics, but when he has said something about the Ukraine, it has always been appeals for peace.
Saker !
Thanks so much for the two Crosstalks…they go together great…
The British guy on the “Sanctions” CT said how fertile Ukraine really is…the intellectual capacities and the Industrial capacities and the agricultural capacities…
And then Pepe Escobar, (such a character!) says in the other CT…”who wants the Ukraine???
Its so horribly ironic that this is the reality in this crazy ‘paper’ world.
And by the way, I noticed your article about The Kremlin (pt 6) is posted on Solari. Catherine Austin Fitts is extremely knowledgeable about western finance…anyone else is really dwarfed by her, but you are a great source for Russian information…that’s been a closed door for a lot of very knowledgeable people. So its wonderful to have an eastern-viewpoint article on her page…she was actually a Wall Street banker for 10 years at Dillon Read, which is one of the really big ones…so she knows about all the inside stuff…the Rothschilds etc…then she blew the whistle…of course its more complicated than that, but that’s the core of it…she also worked for the Bush (senior) administration…
Re; Theodroe Svalberg.
Thanks for your response. I too have seen beheadings by many groups in Syria, and of many of the other fighters in Syria.
They all looked 100% real.
“Regarding the videos of the beheading of the three westerners that have been making the round lately, the two americans and the brit,it looked like a fake scene, what with the orange suits and all the drama, with the victims looking surreal,no trace of resistance, nor fright ,no pleading, nothing.Plus do the Isis members go around with a load of orange jumpsuits to fit them neatly on the beheaded of the day?”
EXACTLY.
The beheadings of these 3 Westerners just hasn’t passed the smell test. These beheadings are clearly CLEARLY designed to provide a pretext for the US/UK/NATO to get involved in Syria and topple Assad.
This is plainly obvious to anyone with a passing interest.
Therefore – if these beheadings are real – there would be some sort of casus belli for the West to use.
SO – PROVE THEY ARE REAL.
I really hope Putin talks about this next week at the UN. Surely the Russians must KNOW these videos are at best – HIGHLY DUBIOUS.
If they accept the propaganda on these videos without challenging it I will lose a lot of faith in Putin/ Lavrov.
If they want to succeed in resisting – they must confront all the major lies and turn the question back on the accusers.

Action in Syria to deal with ISIS – no it is not. It is to destroy Assad.
Speaking to an Australian MP (a friend of mine) I asked him if he’d seen the beheading videos. He admitted he HADN’T. He was merely going on the media reporting and what he’d heard.
I told him as a Federal MP (newly elected I might add), it was not good enough to endorse sending troops off to die on account of stuff the media had said. He had to have hard evidence to make such a commitment to put people’s lives at risk.
I hope he listened to me and talked to his colleagues forcefully on the issue – although I doubt it.
But if this is the kind of thing we’re hearing from the guys making the decisions on these things – what hope is there?
One other thing I would add.
If the Russians want to bring out the truth on MH17 – they must continue to prosecute the case.
They must be loud. They must be vocal. They must be consistent. And they must keep saying the same things.
It almost seems in recent weeks since the release of the VERY BLAND Preliminary Report (Clearly a delaying tactic designed to get the story off the front pages) – the Russians have given up.
Maybe they have convinced enough people in power that they think they need to.
However, it would do for them to continue questioning MH17 until such time as Western publics – particularly in Europe – wake up to themselves.
The best chance that Russia (& Europe) have of avoiding a bloody conflict is if European populations discover at large the spinelessness of their leadership (almost 100% of their leadership has exhibited no spine whatsoever in recent months) and revolt and throw out their corrupt leaders.
This is not impossible and is I presume part of the Russian game plan heading into winter when they cut the gas – my guess still being mid November – although if things heat up in Syria that could be brought forward a month to mid October.
In any case – they shouldn’t fail to use any opportunity to prosecute their case and continue posing questions.
Don’t give up.
I haven’t felt bothered over the last week to talk about MH17. If the targeted victims (The Russian Federation) have given up the case, why should I bother talking for them?

That’s a really nice comment to read…
Its a natural at this blog site because its so real, and truthful and full of hope.

You HAVE GOT TO READ this article on Putin from someone who knows him personally!

Saker,
You really need to read this article on Putin from someone who knows him personally, and contradicts western propaganda nicely…

The Crosstalk was excellent thanks to the global macro-economic discussion. The “disillusionment” noted by Pepe is very visible in the recent European elections, which RT provided a good synopsis of, http://rt.com/news/161508-far-right-parties-elections/
The big nut for Russia and China to crack is Afghanistan, which also means the problem of Pakistan (and Kashmir) must also be solved since they’re linked. By comparison, Iraq and Syria are easy. These are the two major crises that Russia and China must solve together. That done, most of Asia will be secured. It’s a long game. 2020 is the year I await.
Here is a video of a newsbroadcast in Germany…pretty funny actually…

Dostoevsky wrote in hos Diary of a Writer:
In Europe they scream of ‘Russian invasions’ and ‘Russian treachery,’ yet only to frighten their masses when needed, for the shouters themselves hardly believe any of it, nor have they ever believed it. On the contrary, they are now bothered and scared that in Russia’s image there is something upright, something too unselfish, honest and disdainful of usurpation and bribery. They have a presentiment that it’s impossible to buy her off and she won’t be lured into a mercenary or violent matter by any political advantage.” (1877, Feb.)

The Bear-Dragon is the hope for the world.
Russia should trade energy in non-USD currencies, dig in on that and wait for winter. However I note that Russia’s reply sanctions seems to have been quietly put into the back pocket (the closing of airspace will really hurt European airliners)
The world at this moment is in a very bad place unless more is going on in the EU than meets the eye (and that is a possibility).
We are not too far off a make break point; the IMF, World Bank and Europe are not looking healthy, the US economy spirals down and the UK is extremely fragile.
Europe should be the key, but it needs a spine transplant. Is there any good analysis about what is happening with the new EU executive as the Parliamentary sitting seems lacklustre.
Is Merkel behind the scenes? Is the announced spending discipline more of the old or perhaps a way of strengthening the Euro for a more independent role in the near future? surely the elephant in the room is the looming great European depression, it seems odd especially in view of the Bear-Dragon video that real opportunity could be so close and embracing decline instead?
Strange times.
“Second, those who had any doubts about where the Vatican stood on the civil war in the Ukraine now can simply the article entitled “A Church with verve is at risk in Ukraine” on the website Crux (thanks AB!).”
I have read the article. It says nothing about Vatican involvement in Ukraine.
To Anonymous 16 Sep 03:44:
In fact, the term historically used by the Vatican for the “Greek Catholics” (now officially called “Byzantine Catholics” in the USA) was “Roman Catholics of the Greek Rite” or “Catholici Graeci Ritae”, as one of the 22 “Rites”, or ways of performing liturgical functions. This indicates that they were absorbed into the Vatican but were “allowed” to keep the church services of their ancestors to prevent turmoil.
The majority of Russian Orthodox in the United States are descendants of people who had no choice but to be in the “Greek Catholic” organization in Galicia and Carpatho-Russia, and returned to Orthodoxy when able to do so in the relative freedom of America, starting in the 1890s.
Sadly, the extremist Galician Uniates of today are descended from Russian Orthodox of centuries ago.
Novorussia printing its own money. Why not. How is its society going to function if there is none. It will be for local use only within the boundaries of Novarussia. Coins last but notes get replaced with new every month in most societies.
Regarding ISIS. Isis is a creation of the west (US) for the US industrial military complex have to have an enemy to do battle with; so they created one themselves. All videos that are produced to scare are the creation of US propagandists, similar to the 9 11 scare fiction.

the RC church has always been a political organization – always. the idea of a’god’ was the ‘big mac’ that keeps/kept them in business. all orgainized religions use the same means/methods to control the sheeple.
who is it that said ‘religion is the opiate of the masses’. it is all BS. as soon as you start believing in something you abdicate your ability to think. you let someone else do it for you. think about it. :)

UA parliament approved law on special status for certain regions in Donetsk/Lugansk, and amnesty.
Next: a pretext of consideration of such, to end with a left-wing coup in Novorossia and a right-wing coup in Kiev?
The next stage of the conflict cannot be reduced to and reframed as a UA/RU war in the western media.

The Netherlands has already decided to buy American liquid gas, no matter the price. Starting probably 2016. But apart from that,we have enough gas ourselves to last us for 15 years… Near Rotterdam we have huge storage places that were build years prior to this debacle, and stand currently unused and empty. From there we could then probably provide gas to neighbour countries.
At least, that’s what I learned from various Dutch media.

Seems it is pretty clear now what the US plans to do.. If the false flag saran gas attacks was any indications, proof that Syria downed any US planes or drones will not matter much. So he is just waiting for the chance. If Russia and Iran don’t increase their support for Assad drastically, it is a sure thing that the US will intervene directly using special forces and their ISIS proxies to topple Assad. Most likely before the year is out. It seems they dont even care how transparent the are looking to the eyes of the world. We know the only one stopping ISIS right now are the brotherhood rebels who dont take orders from the US, Saudi Arabia and now Qatar and they were the strongest group before. No wonder the so called rebellion puttered out, Once the coup in Egypt happened they realized that they were now the target and opposed the fundamental terrorists sent by Saudi Arabia and only Qatar was standing in the way of any support for them. When we see Turkey come out openly about not providing sanctuary for the Brotherhood, we know they have been neutralized and the ISIS is going to move onto take Damascus.
US President Barack Obama has threatened to wipe out Syria’s air defense system and topple the Syrian government if President Bashar al-Assad ordered his forces to shoot American planes entering Syrian airspace.

To JULIAN Re:the so-called beheadings…
As you may sadly know, ISIS fighters have released many, many videos showing the mass murder of civilians and captured ‘enemy’ soldiers. These videos NEVER shy from showing the horrific act of murder itself- be it by severing the neck, putting a bullet in the back of the head, or by machine gunning multiple victims kneeling or lying in mass graves.
The three FAKE videos purporting to come from ISIS, but actually made by an MI6/CIA psy-op team, released by SITE, have a completely different form and tone.
Firstly, none of the three fake videos show any act of violence whatsoever. They each fade on a shot of the so-called British hooded ISIS fighter ‘sawing’ at the throat of the victim with an obviously plastic fake knife. This fake knife isn’t even the cheap sort that squirts fake blood.
Secondly, no attempt is made to actually fake the act of beheading- you may think you have seen a ‘CENSORED’ version of the video online, but so-called censored versions either removed the political message prologue, removed the final fake shot of the head resting on the torso, or blurred the head of the victim.
Thirdly, the ‘money shot’ (to put it crudely) is (for the first and third video) a digitally manipulated still image showing the ‘head’ resting on the torso of the ‘body’ lying on the ground. This still has then been processed to create a fake video pan with a laughable ‘whoosh’ sound added to a fake soundtrack.
The second video (perhaps because of all the criticism of the first) actually has real video for the final shot, although it is still a very careful simple sidewards pan where the ‘head’ appears to have been placed on the video image using standard ‘MATCH MOVING’ methods (a VERY basic post-processing computer effects method).
After the first video, the ‘important’ British newspapers were all careful to report how ‘FAKE’ the videos appeared. Then they were free to ignore this aspect for the subsequent videos (the third of which is the fakest looking of all).
Here’s the thing. We KNOW each of the so-called victims are CIA/MI6 agents – indeed the apparent fourth is a Brit so secret, the British press were forced, under a D-NOTICE, to make no mention of his name in print UNTIL he appeared at the end of the third video- yet he had supposedly gone missing ages ago.
Why are the videos so fake. Because each ‘victim’ will appear alive to a fanfare of publicity within a year or so. The ‘official’ conspiracy story will be that ISIS faked the murders to keep high-value hostages alive for later negotiation (hence the crudeness of the fakery). The governments of the USA and UK will declare that faking the murders was WORSE than actually killing the men, because of the psychological effect on the families. Ludicrous, I know, but no more moronic than the official conspiracy theory of the 9/11 false-flag.
And why this psy-op? Well, only a few days ago, Obama declared his intent to bomb the Assad regime in Syria into complete extinction is Syria uses its air defence systems against illegally invading US jets. So Tony Blair’s dingle-berries, Obama and Cameron, pretend to enter Syria to attack ISIS, and then destroy the Assad regime instead under this pretext.

Julian,
I haven’t looked for those videos bc I refuse to watch them. Otoh, Rita Katz, the woman behind SITE, the probable CIA/Mossad front involved in releasing them, was previously involved in a rather interesting “case”

where she accused a Georgia chicken farm of money-laundering for Bin Laden…

RT has just published this:
The Ukrainian parliament has approved laws on special status for the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions, as well as amnesty for those participating in the hostilities.
The special status law has received 277 ‘yes’ votes from a total of 450 MPs, while the amnesty law was approved by 287 parliamentary members. The session of the Verkhovna Rada is underway during which MPs are to ratify an agreement with the EU.
The law on the special status of Lugansk and Donetsk Regions guarantees the right to use and study Russian or any other language in Ukraine.
Malcolm Donald,
Unfortunately the Fedorov video is no longer found on YouTube. Any other way to get it ?
Thanks for Putin’s video. Obviously, his message was not meant as an appeal to the elites, it is revolutionary in the sense of class revolutions by the oppressed masses against their oppressors.
You know what that means.
Info for Dacien
Have just found another version of this Fedorov video on Youtube but their is no English translation line:

One relevant difference between Lenin and Deng Ziaoping on the one hand and Federov on the other might lie in their titles and the degree of power accruing thereto…
Dacian,
Isn’t it interesting which videos YouTube pulls… Almost an endorsement of their validity, at least as a serious threat.
Being somewhat computer-challenged here, is there some way to save a YouTube if you figure it’s good enough that they’re likely to pull it?
US using ISIL to sidestep UNSC over Syria: Press TV has interviewed former US intelligence linguist Scott Rickard to discuss Washington and its allies’ plans regarding ISIL Takfiri militants operating in Iraq and Syria.
The Americans have been fully engaged financially, fully engaged in the intelligence community. I mean even Steven Sotloff this guy was not just a journalist. I can prove that Sotloff spent three years going to school at an Israeli Mossad training facility prior to having his head supposedly cut off. This gentleman is actually directly tied to the director of the intelligence at the Mossad Uzi Arad and this I can prove. So, these are the kind of individuals who have been involved in the aid Programs and been involved in the “journalist” side.
The Sunnis in the north of Iraq laid down 30,000 soldiers, laid down their arms and them to only 1,000 attacking soldiers coming out of the ISIL mercenary forces. This is actually as planned. It took down Maliki and now it is giving more credence to the Kurdish regional government to create a Kurdish state. This is something that the US has wanted to do for over 20 to 30 years. They are going to turn this on Assad and as soon as they take out any of the “unruly” mercenaries, because there are some mercenaries that have not followed the plan and there are some mercenaries who have gone off the actual program and they will take those out. In fact, there are many intelligence agencies French, American working within the mercenary forces for several years.
So they know who to target and who not to target. So, you will see people getting targeted. They will be the most unruly, most extremist and the most difficult to command. Those will be the forces who will be taken out, but they will certainly not destroy the mercenaries they put together.

I didn’t read all the comments, but I suppose you are aware that the last two popes have been found guilty in the Int’l Tribunal for Crimes of Church and State? guilty of genocide, rape, torture, murder, and sacrificial acts with small children. go to ITCCS.com. the church has practiced a satanic ritual forever. also, the Vatican secretary, and the Superior Jesuit were charged, and have resigned.
THE ELITE’S PLAN FOR UKRAINE
World Economic Forum, Geneva Ukraine Initiative, among participants: Siemens, BASF, Sberbank, Alcoa, European Investment Bank, Ernst and Young, and, of course, PepsiCo! From Ukrainian oligarchs – Pinchuk and Taruta. Russian, Ukrainian, European and US oligarchs and corporations were equally represented. The goal was to chart a desired plan of action in order to somehow keep Ukraine intact in exchange for easing the sanctions.
1. To take as a starting point for further action plan on a cease-fire of 12 steps, developed by the OSCE. To ensure a stable truce, while supporting the immediate cessation of violence and loss of life. Recognize the main and priority value of human life.
2.Refrain from using provocative, bellicose and aggressive language, recognizing that progress, security and sustainable peace will allow only the honest dialogue conducted in a spirit of cooperation.
3. To intensify the process of composite dialogue, at the national Ukrainian level and between Ukraine and Russia, and between Europe, Russia, Ukraine and the United States with the obligation to establish common objectives and identify key milestones in meeting the current challenges.
4. Keep security system in the eastern region of Ukraine under the supervision of the OSCE – at least until territorial security is guaranteed.
5. To initiate a comprehensive political process aimed at the decentralization of power in Ukraine. As part of this process, the Central Government should grant additional rights to the region. This process must also be supported by guarantees of respect for minority rights and linguistic rights.
6. Guarantee the security and sovereignty of Ukraine from the international community. To recognize the precedence of international law over national interests. Recognize the right to self-determination, but encourage Ukraine to consider adopting a policy of military non-alignment, comparable to the one that already exists in several European countries (Finland, Sweden, Switzerland).
7. As part of the restoration of normal business relations and business dialogue to determine any sanctions and contra-sanctions, which can be avoided or cancelled as the key step in the reconciliation process.
8. To enact an economic recovery plan aimed at eliminating the caused damage during the conflict, the provision of necessary humanitarian assistance and the restoration of the required infrastructure. To initiate this multilateral process and encourage all parties, particularly the business community, to joint investments.
9. Create and agree on special association agreements and trade in Ukraine with the European Union and Russia, and later, perhaps, with the Eurasian Economic Community, to stabilize the economy of Ukraine, for Ukrainian companies to create new jobs, improve the prospects of long-term growth and achieve international competitiveness.
10. As soon as possible, to hold a summit in Geneva with the participation of top political leaders of Europe and the European countries involved in the problem, Russia, Ukraine and the United States to make progress towards reconciliation.

Nigel Farage is my favorite EU politician. He is one of the two politicians I know of in the UK (the other being George Galloway) who talks any sense, exhibits an enviable level of intelligence, and is not afraid to say what he believes and to speak the truth. More power to him! I hope one day UKIP will be the majority party in the British parliament and Farage will be the British Prime Minister (way to go yet).

Just a few points to ponder and/or consider from outside the box.
All of this bluster is just nothing more that hyper-partisan rhetoric. While we do know that IS/ISIL/ISIS is a black-op mercenary operationjust like we know the same for the ultra-nationalist mercenaries in Ukraine.
Keeping that in mind, we must also realize that these genies are out of their bottles and completely uncontrollable at best.
Point one re: IS. This group will certainly welcome any new arms and boots on the ground but will boomerang back at the funders and will slaughter any “uniformed” outside forces.
Point 2 re: Right Sector et all. Now that the Ukie Rada has decided to pander to the whims of the same masters that control the EU, this has actually flushed out the enemy. The ultra-nationalists hold all of the “military” power to flush them all out in more ways than one. Not only will those fighting Kiev in the East reject this legislation, so will those fighting under the guise of the actual ATO. They will now have a tangible common cause and logical common enemy. Since the RS and their “allies” have effectively set the precedence and legally silenced any dissent within the general populous, none will dare to cross them. All it will take is a bit of dialog, negotiation and subtle coercion to mobilize an offensive that will topple the pro-EU Kiev Regime.
This phenomenon will soon take on a life of its own considering the way the “Legislation” vs “Betrayal” narrative is being aggressively sold to the respective “participants” with the most to lose, the boots on the ground, especially if “both” sides feel betrayed, deceived and sold out.
Remember what happened to Humpty Dumpty. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn’t put him together again. At the end of the day when the “West” and “East” reconcile, the “exceptional” Ukie dupes that willingly bought in to false prosperity dreams only to deliver despair, destruction, death and poverty, will be the ones that will be blamed.
Real fighters with something to fight and something for and something to lose always out match the most “exceptional” wanna be warriors with ambiguous missions.
If all else fails or falls upon deaf ears, boomerang back to Point 1 friends, ’cause unlike the past, the Empire is dying at a ever quickening pace and this fight and perpetual war will certainly head West young man.
Sadly, it’s all by design, the Ukies were once again used as the useful idiots it was only a matter of time. 5th generation warfare is all about sparking civil wars and internal conflicts to sap the last bits of sovereignty from any/all Nation States and loot every last Fiat penny along the way…
While the above is based upon speculation, it is substantiated by many facts that are hidden in plain sight…
DumpHarper!
