I just wanted to share with you some of the funny stuff I also got in my mail recently.
From “ELH”:
NEWSFLASH – NSA has been hacked. Here is an unconfirmed conversation that took place a few minutes ago.
President Buttercup: You lezzie bitch, you told me everything was going according to plan in Ukraine.
Nuland: We have some bad news and some good news.
Buttercup: What’s the bad news?
Nuland: That $5-billion you sent to Ukraine didn’t buy as many neo-Nazi’s as we thought. We need a few billion more. Also, we might be at war with Russia soon. That bastard Putin can’t take a joke.
Buttercup: And the good news?
Nuland: Pussy Riot has agreed to perform at your next birthday party.
From Paul:
US pulls back on military cooperation with Russia, stemming the flow of drunken Air Force generals to Moscow and bankrupting the Russian Liquor industry as a result. “Without firing a single shot, we have crashed the Russian economy and increased the life expectancy of our own military men and women”, Obama declared in a news conference today, while sipping on a glass of Finlandia vodka. (see this for context)
From anonymous:
Russia pledges $5 billion to assist Scottish independence from the UK.

From AK:
I know that these are tragic times, but thank you all for putting a smile on my face!
Cheers,
The Saker
Good Ones!
Especially the one on Scotland!
I’d say this is exactly what Russia should do!
And another 5B could go to help Texas regain its independence!
To give them a taste of their own medicine! One can’t win a war (even a cold one) with merely defensive strategy.

I love this video
Obama: ok you get the south
Putin: and the east
Obama: we get the west?
Putin: if you promise to send in the IMF (evil laugh)
Obama: plus Snowden?
Putin: if you keep Romania for ever
Obama: damn, ok
Putin: ..and Cameron stops phoning me
Obama: amen to that
Putin: seriously, thats a deal breaker
Obama: ok
Putin:..we’re good
This is a post in yahoo Sunday by a person nick named “billy”. I copied because it was hilarious :
Greetings from Russian Federation! I am Mikhail. My wife is Marina. Tonight enjoy the homosexual love fest that you call Oscars. The West is truly degenerate! The weakling Obama wished to embarrass Russia during our Olympics by turning it into a homosexual political event. Now he will suffer the bite of the angry Russian Bear! Our brave leader Putin will force Obama out of the closet to watch Ukraine become the 84th Federal subject of the Russian Federation. Did you know mother Russia suffered over 1 million deaths during WWII Battle of Stalingrad? It was just one battle! How many deaths can Obama stomach in a war? 5,000? Less? Obama, the homosexual stooge, will do nothing but bury his head in the sand on a beach in Hawaii. It is a great day to lift the glass! A Toast Comrades!! ZA VAS!!! I bet you wish you had Ronald Reagan back. Now he was a real President!
This is one of the Klitschko Emails to the Lithunian presidential advisor which was hacked and posted by Anonymous Ukraine:

Dear Mr. Jonavicius,
I am writing to thank you for your assistance. The meeting with Mrs. Grauzienne was very productive. We exchanged views on current events and discussed our plans for the future. Mrs. Grauzienne made some interesting proposals concerning my future. I need to give it some thought but in general I am willing to accept your terms.
Special thanks to all Lithunian friends for finanical assistance. Today my assistant visited your embassy where he met the Counselor. They discussed finanical issues and plans for future cooperation. My assistant also provided Valentina with the details of my bank account in Germany.
I look forward to a successful working relationship in the future.
Regards,
Vitali

Why are the colours of St. George orange and black in Russia, rather than red and white as in England?

US govt takes Sprint to court for overcharging surveillance by $21 million
http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_03_05/US-govt-takes-Sprint-to-court-for-overcharging-surveillance-by-21-million-4749/
“The US Justice Department has accused Sprint of overcharging the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Drug Enforcement Administration and other law enforcement agencies by more than 50 percent for facilitating call surveillance, media reported. The allegedly inflated charges resulted in extra costs of $21 million from January 2007 to July 2010, according to the legal complaint filed Monday….”

Thank you Saker. Another basic question, if I may. Is Ukrainian really a separate language or just a dialect of Russian? Is the fuss about Russian being an official language in Ukraine really about comprehension, or about national pride?
@Odin’s Raven: Is Ukrainian really a separate language or just a dialect of Russian??
A good Ukrainian friend of mine once told me “a language is just a dialect with tanks”. Honestly, I think she had a point: where do you draw the limit between the two and which is which? Is Dutch a dialect of German? What do Austrians speak? Is Portuguese a dialect of Spanish?
What I can tell you is this: the notion of ‘one’ Ukrainian language is political. Before there 1917 Revolution there were several Ukrainian dialects and what the nationalist did they took the most different one from Russian and declared that this was the “real Ukrainian” language. Even today, something like 25%-30% of Ukrainians (in the central and eastern part) speak a mix of Ukrainian and Russian called “Surzhik”(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surzhyk).
Аlso, it is easy for Ukrainians and Russians to understand each other, no translation is needed. It’s just a matter of getting used to the other language. But then, Slavic languages are close enough that people can usually communicate pretty easily. They do have different foreign influences: Polish is influenced by German, Russian by Tatar, Bulgarian and Serbian by Turkish.
To me as a Russian speaker Ukrainian and Slovak are very easy to understand. Then comes Serbian, and then Polish and Bulgarian. The so-called “Belarussian” is so close to Russian as to being basically a joke. And then, inside Russia there used to be many different local variants of Russian. The Soviet rule has done away with a lot of it, but some regions still speak with a different accent.
All in all the common root of all Slavic languages is still very strong.
HTH, cheers,
The Saker
In a similar context, the variation in the English language is much greater in the UK than the USA, both in accent and word meanings. Most Americans have no clue what British people mean when they mention the word “fanny”, as a humourous example, which leads to some very amusing, and revealing, misunderstandings. :D The enforcement of uniformity is probably greatest in the USA than in any place in history (though Spain and Portugal have legit claims), along with the hostility to social and cultural variations. The country itself actually does mimic the MSM uniformity of message probably than any other country on the planet, in part, due to the centuries old enforcement of cultural uniformity American culture is based upon. In America “approved” cultural diversity (their sacred “melting pot” rubbish) is the difference between Taco Bell and McDonalds.

Putin and Russia are being “punished” by the West in the western media because they stood up to protect the Syrian people from genocide. The gencoide being backed by the USA, EU using Al Qeada mercenaries paid for with Saudi money.
God Bless Russia and President Putin.
Linguisitics is a very interesting subject for me and Slavic linguistics in particular.
I lived a number of years in Poland for a number of years and at one point could speak it pretty well (I can still get by if absolutely have to.) With my Polish, I could understand Russian hardly at all and Russians couldn’t understand me. Ukrainian seemed more intelligible, It was more like Russian grammar with plenty of Polish words.
My wife is Belorussian and to me it sounds like a musical version of Russian. It has a lot of Polish words in it.
I spent a couple of months learning Russian with Rosetta stone and Pimsleur (I really regret that I didn’t keep up with it) Knowing Polish made it so easy to learn. The grammar is almost identical. Pronunciation is a bit more of a challenge because in Polish, stress is almost always penultimate but in Russian stress is variable.
Random point: it’s always funny to hear Polish people refer to the Russian foreign minister as Sergei Wavrov.
The Russians saw the events in Ukraine as an attempt by the United States to draw Ukraine into NATO and thereby set the stage for Russian disintegration. Quite frankly, there was some truth to the Russian perception.
………….
There has been a lot of the truth

I wonder why Russia Today is so keen on promoting Scottish independence.
Might it be that in a few years an impoverished Scotland lacking subsidies from either England or the EU, would lease a nice nuclear submarine base to the friendly folk in Moscow?
Perhaps they’d need to send 30,000 troops to protect the interests of the newly formed McRusski clan from those vicious Glasgow ‘neds’. Maybe they’d have their own football team, and even build Putin’s Wall a little to the north of that crumbling edifice left by Hadrian, to prevent the English from stealing their heather!
Ukrainian and Russian are one language but it is very important for Ukrainian people to call the language Ukrainian and for the Russian to call the same language Russian. If you go to the Court in Ukraine and you speak Russian nobody never will provide for you a court interpreter. Very similar situation is in Bosnia, Croatia, Monte Negro and Serbia.
Pussy Riot have staged another S&M act:
На участниц Pussy Riot напали в Нижнем Новгороде
http://www.km.ru/v-rossii/2014/03/06/obshchestvenno-politicheskaya-zhizn-v-rossii/734014-na-uchastnits-pussy-riot-nap
They got brilliant greened:
“По словам адвоката, нападавших было пятеро. Они кидали в участниц Pussy Riot металлические предметы, еду, брызгали неизвестной жидкостью, а также облили их зеленкой. Эти действия, как отметил Губин, сопровождались нецензурными выражениями.”
Poor things, it might have actually been a real attack this time. It happened at a McDonalds in Nizhny Novgorod. Not surprising their preferred “restaurant” is McDonalds. :)
