My friend “J” just sent me this most interesting video where a Novorussian solider describes how some unidentified aircraft apparently engage Ukie fighters and bombers and, in one instance, box them in and force them to land. This is the first and only time I have ever heard of such a thing taking place, and I obviously cannot vouch for the accuracy of this soldier’s interpretation for what he saw. Does that appear plausible? Well, think about it this way:
1) The Ukies have clearly lost control over the Novorussian airspace. Not only they not have the means to control it by force, they probably are blind to what is taking place there.
2) While US SIGINT might be able to detect Russian aircraft in Novorussian airspace, they would have a hard time backing up that claim without compromising their sacrosanct means and methods. Besides, considering the short distances involved the Russian aircraft could fly what is called a “low-low-low mission profile” and remain pretty much undetectable.
3) If a Russian Air Force aircraft shot down a Ukie, everybody could credit the air defenses anyway and challenge anybody to prove otherwise.
So I would rate this source (the solider) as an ‘unknown’ but this story as ‘credible but uncorroborated’.
Still, that would explain the heavy Ukie aircraft losses, would it not?
Cheers,
The Saker
PS: notice, by the way, how this solider repeatedly makes references to WWII and to the Nazis! So – please – don’t come and tell me that I am the one constantly using references to topics which every Russian knows are the crucial context in which today’s events should be understood.
Saker,
It is quite possible that is what’s happening. I have seen pictures of NDF 9K35 Strela-10’s :)
Dearest Brother Saker,
God’s Invisible Hands are everywhere. Bibi Mary (as), Prophet and Rasool Jesus (as), Bibi Fatima (as) and Imam Mahdi (as) are not in our World with their arms folded. They are active everywhere.
God Plans and satan plans. God is the Best of the Planner.
satan has no control on God’s Slaves, let alone that he/she will have control on Bibi Mary (as), Prophet and Rasool Jesus (as), Bibi Fatima (as) and Imam Mahdi (as).
Best regards,
Mohamed.
In many low intensity conflicts in SE Asia, Central America and Africa, volunteer and mercenary pilots, often with their “own” aircraft appear at times to assist the men on the ground.
It doesn’t have to be a Russian military craft helping out. It could be an aviator who enjoys action, just as men on the ground enjoy combat. Given the degree of passion in the East Ukraine conflict that is grounded in history, anti-nazism, pro-Orthodox religion, and spilt Russian blood on the same land as in WWII, it is entirely conceivable that it was a “volunteer”.
Just more of Putin doing nothing, Putin afraid to act, eh?
The US may want to try some dastardly chemical or biological attack next. They were not afraid to do it in Syria.
However, with the criminal case files being built in Moscow against Kiev, and the Signal Intel captured by Moscow of late, I would believe that Biden or his son would have to whisper directly into Porky’s ear the orders to go totally satanic.
Putin, I repeat for the nth time, is using an infinite array of weapons, assets, means of combat to keep Kiev engaged until he is ready to finish them off.
He repeated yesterday his policy to defend Russians everywhere and anywhere.
His last judo hold for the Hegemon will be a forearm shiver to the global gonads, then a grab and jerk of balls. When he rips them off, he’ll bring them to the UN for DNA testing. IF they are Uncle Sam’s, case closed. NATO will go home.
I can feel the Russian navy special ops swimming toward Mariupol as I write. Kiev is going to think Putin has their tiny sack hooked to batteries when the counterstrike comes.
This fascists better be ready to run to the US embassy and climb onto the helos there like Saigon in ’75. That’s how it always ends for Langley’s handmaidens.
It may be the case. Strelkov announced they down the plane but no pictures or videos of so many destroyed planes. It was only one video of transport plane near Lugansk airport.

One of the comments here somewhere linked to a russian article about the rebels having double agents in their ranks. It said that Khodarkovsky is a double agent who didn’t really defect. They refer to the “fact” that he did not allow his Vostok Bn men bring manpads to the May 26 Donetsk Airport fiasco. When this proved to be a fatal “mistake” a truckload of rebels was fired upon by another rebel unit (not a Right Sector unit) on its retreat from the airport, when that other unit received orders to fire upon a “Ukraine unit” that was approaching from the airport.
The article was believable and would explain why the Chechens allegedly quit soon after. If someone ordered those 76 men to go take the airport without available manpads, that is front page news to anyone following this conflict, even more than a month later.
Can someone research this more? Did they really give a battalion to a guy who just said “I’m defecting to your side?” People want to know, one way or the other, who is going to win this conflict. If there is massive incompetence and double dealing, the conventional wisdom that the ATO is really a trap designed to eliminate right sector youths falls apart.
I don’t know… I’ve seen reports all morning on twitter of Uki “carpet bombing” of some villages/suburbs. Which might be completely untrue, or might be confused with shelling.

Today Ukies blown the water canal to Slavyansk. The only water from now on will come from wells. That is for a city with 50,000 people still there.
The Ukies bombed today Stanitsa Luganska, а whole neighbourhood of the city is demolished, many dead and wounded. There is a video on voicesevas.ru
I hope this post is correct, it is about time for punishment.
A Bulgarian
Baboo says
JimStone has got an interesting theory on the recent tsumani on the Uranian coast.
Tsunami in Ukraine
During the cold war, Russia threatened America with a plan to destroy cities such as New York via the tsunamis caused by detonation of large nuclear weapons in the ocean. Russia played with this a lot in the ocean waters of Siberia, which has many large areas of water completely surrounded by land. Large portions of Siberia were permanently wrecked by this.
Russia was the real originator of the tsunami bomb. The fact this got used on Japan by Jewish and (probably fully duped) American forces can be partially attributed to the fact that during the cold war, the Jewish community totally ran and controlled Russia (a fact largely supported by the massive looting of gold antiquities from Russia, which were melted down by Jews in Los Angeles after the wall fell.) So there were plenty who knew how bad nukes could be in the ocean. I partially believe they gave up on Russia once they determined that they could just use America to do their dirty deeds instead of Russia. But that is a whole report by itself.
Obviously Russia would still have all the calculations and technology to do this, and I believe the unexplained tsunami in Ukraine was caused by this being done by Russia with perfect precision as a warning shot. The tsunami was absolutely perfect, had a long duration (the beach wave shown in some Youtube videos was not this tsunami) and did no real damage, it was absolutely perfect. Though the water got within 3 inches of flooding many homes, none got flooded at all. That is simply too perfect and I believe this was a display by Russia to show Ukraine just how good their math is. This would be to demonstrate the fact that Russia can perfectly calculate Ukraine’s destruction.
The explosion needed to do a two meter tsunami in a small area would not need to be big enough to show up clearly on seismograms, I am not even certain it would take a nuke to do it. And there were no weather anomalies to explain this tsunami, no seismic events, NADA, which I believe leaves a warning shot by Russia as the probable best explanation.
Very Putin-esque approach. Legal case + shoot the rest of fools who come looking for action. This is quite remarkable in modern rebellions.
The head of the self-proclaimed Lugansk people’s Republic Valery Bolotov announced the list of citizens who, in his opinion, must be given over to the Tribunal. According to the”Eastern variant”, this list Bolotov was read at a press conference on 1 July.
The list included the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov, the head of the Ministry of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, the Minister of defence of Ukraine Mykhailo Koval, the head of the security Service of Ukraine Valentyn Nalyvaychenko, Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema, the Secretary of national security and defense of Andrei Parubiy, billionaire and the Governor of Dnepropetrovsk region Igor Kolomoisky, leader of the radical Right sector” Dmitry Yarosh, former Governor of Odessa region Vladimir Nemirovskiy, acting Governor of the Lugansk region Irina Verigin, leader.
These citizens, according Bolotov, made a coup in Ukraine and currently committing war crimes on the territory LNR. Yatsenyuk, Tymoshenko, Tyahnybok and Klitschko were leaders of the United opposition, which came to power in Ukraine after the victory of Euromayday (movement in support of European integration, and displacement from the post of President Viktor Yanukovych. The closest associates of opposition (in particular, Turchynov, Avakov and Parubiy) later received positions in the government and Parliament.
In March on the territory of Donetsk and later and Lugansk regions was launched military operation against “terrorists” (official Kyiv calls armed supporters of the Donetsk and Lugansk national republics). During the confrontation killed hundreds of people. In late June, the sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire, which has been repeatedly violated. On the night of 1 July President Petro Poroshenko announced the resumption of operations in the East of the country.

Saker, and others who bring information from ground here, I have to say I am very pleased. I have been feeling bad for Novorossia since before Putin told them not to go ahead with the vote. But what RF government since the day of dramatic turn around of Strelkov comments from complete siege to rear was protected, and they can do other thing, RF has show confidence and competence. I guess RF has made a decision, and has implement it competently. It will be wonderful if Mariupol airport is taken out of commission.
Some one commented that NAF is fighting too nice. No, they are not. They only nice to Army who do not want to fight anyway, with whom one 7 hour shoot out not even a broken toe on both sides. But they wiped out certain hard core national guard units.
Doubtful.
Banderivtsy forces would have certainly seen their own aircraft engaged and said something. Any banderivtsy pilots forced to land would certainly say something, along with the ground crews. As the freaks in Kiev are always inventing “attacks” by Russia, a real attack would be a wet dream for them. Also for their anglo/zionist handlers who would make sure the anglo/zionist media would go hysterical over it.
Sorry, not a military person but I can understand that in a mission profile ‘low, low, low’ two of the parameters are low level flight outbound and returning, but what is the third one?
Also, the range would be pretty low I guess due to high fuel requirements, but what would be the kind of range that could be covered on a mission of the type being described?
Poroshenko is moving down the path of a war criminal at a pretty good clip. Normally, these kinds of criminals remain exempt from prosecution while they are being godfathered by Washington, but these godfathering protections often prove ephimeral. I would not like to be in Proshenko’s shoes right now. His Washington masters and the mad right sector dogs are ordering him to be a criminal, or else. But I would not be surprised if one day the US itself recommends he be tried for his crimes, even if he committed them under Washington’s orders.
People who complain about your referring to WWII, Saker, are just demonstrating typical American a-historicity: all that matters is now.
Faulkner said it best, “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” How can it be, really? Those who ignore what came before — which helped to make them who they are without their even knowing it — go through life half blindfolded, miss most of the richness of things regardless of how good or bad that past was. Being a brand-new, made-up amalgamation of a country did have some benefits, but our Victorian belief in progress blinded us to both the good and the bad of how we ended up where we are. And if you can’t hold onto the good bc all you have are a couple of stale phrases with pretty pictures attached, you’re lost.
And. We. Are.
Older cultures know that.
And yeah, I suspect it is Russia doing the no-flys too, unofficially and with consummate plausible deniability.
Awwwww… shit!

I have a dear friend who flew combat for the Navy and Air Force. His call sign was “Killer”. He won the Top Gun competition the first two times. One of the great American aviators of the fifties and sixties.
He always signs off emails: ‘Fast and Low’.
Attack pilots, those that strafe, drop bombs and fire missiles at ground targets, fly Fast and Low. It takes them below radars, it terrifies the enemy, scatters the collaterals (civilians panic at the sound of the engines at full power coming and going), and it makes them a tough target to hit at 600 mph. With the sun behind them, they are phantoms in the sky.
‘Killer’ happened to be a trainer for Sen John McCain and verified the warmonger was the stupidest flyer the Navy every had. McCain got shot down because he was a dummy. Crashed four planes, one caused a huge fire and death atop a carrier while he was taxiing around. The only reason McCain was not court-martialed was his father was an Admiral.
Quite similar to JFK who got the most maneuverable boat in the Navy sliced in half by a Japanese ship. PT 109 was a complete screwup by Kennedy. Again his rich father kept him from being court-martialed and they turned him into a hero for swimming and rescuing his crew that survived.
The American need for heroes is legend. Custer was a monster and a screwup. Patton had to be kept on a short leash by Ike and Bradley. MacArthur wanted to nuke China in Korea. Truman removed him from command.
Now we have Nuland, Biden and Obama trying to be Generals in a proto-war with proxy army.
America is a great nation of good people, but we have had more than our share of loons in charge of serious matters.
Putin is putting the global spotlight on some of them.
The suggestion that the Japanese Tsunami was caused by anything other than the huge earthquake with which it coincided is a really bizarre fantasy

BERLIN, July 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Talks between the foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine to discuss the situation in Ukraine were held in a constructive manner, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Wednesday. “I understood that all participants realized what responsibility we all carry on prevention of a greater danger in Ukraine,” Steinmeier said. An unconditional ceasefire in the south-east of Ukraine is not a goal in itself but a step towards peace talks, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his German, French and Ukrainian colleagues. He said the ministers had agreed a declaration on the resolution of the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine. “Today we managed to agree to a declaration in accordance with the instructions we received from our leaders, and I can say that their instructions were fulfilled,” Lavrov said. He stressed that the absence of ceasefire in Ukraine was taking a heavy toll of human lives and it would be better to put it in place late than never.
Can RF find a way to send in some heavy artillery to take out enemy positions that shelling civilian daily, and send in aid to the people there? Something need to be done.
From Pravda (via Yandex):
The Ukrainian army have been completely cut off Slavyansk, Donetsk region from the outside world, they start to compress around the city ring environment, said the militia commander Igor Strelkov.
“The enemy cut Slavyansk from the village of Nikolaevka, through which remained the last of the “road of life” between the city and the outside world. The strength of the militia pushed in Nikolaevka, now there is a fight between Nikolaevka and neighbouring Semenovka,” he quoted by RIA Novosti words Strelkova his assistant.
“The enemy is slowly but surely compresses the ring environment. Artillery, “Grad”, “Uragan” work on positions and residential neighborhoods. Resistance of our infantry can’t stop Armada vehicles in conditions when for every three of our soldiers have one broneerimine (?) enemy,” said Undersecretary of the army militia.

Seen on several tweets: Ukies aren’t permitting any movement in/out of Slavyansk. Anything that moves gets hit.
The key here is stalemate. I know a lot of people would love some form of win, depending on the side they are positioned. (make no mistake which side I am)
However, the only way to prosperity is to end the conflict is by preventing to form winners and losers. Only then the new Ukraine will function.
Sadly, this will come at cost of human lives, and I surely hope the justice will reach all the butchers sooner. But, for the sake of the people living there, we cant have winners and losers.

Kiev’s Ministry of Truth has issued another statement:
Kiev’s Anti-Terrorist Operation center, which resumed its onslaught on separatist positions earlier this week, has accused pro-Russian forces of unleashing the strikes from the ground to coincide with an aerial patrol.
“Today terrorists have deviously fired at civilian areas near Luganskaya,” it said in an official statement on Facebook. “At the same time, they have accused Ukrainian air forces of executing the attack. But Ukrainian planes were not operating in the area at the time. Only artillery shells were launched by government forces, but at 4 am, and in a direction away from the settlement.”

I think most of you here are basing their analysis purely on emotion. for starters you give ‘western’ – ie EU and US politicians more credit than they deserve – tend to think of them as intelligent – when most are anything but. I say Russia is playing an excellent hand and will achieve what it is after – namely divide ‘Europe’ from the ‘US’. to understand this we have to retrace our steps to the origins of the conflict. it starts with an EU initiative – in its megalomaniac need for expansion – and full of its misguided sense that the EU is a benevolent creation the EU seeks to expand to enhance its so called ‘soft power’ – an unimperial empire as Barroso himself made clear. it thus offered the Ukraine an Association Agreement – mistakenly by a poor media full of journalists too idiotic or lazy to understand what this agreement entails to peddle it as a ‘trade agreement’ when it is anything but – indeed both the ‘European’ public and i would say much more the Ukranian public – dependent on the media for their information have swallowed the notion that this is simply a ‘trade agreement’. the Russians on the otherhand more accustomed to reading the fine detail immediately understood what this is all about. for starters right at the top is the agreement on “Political Dialogue and Reform, Political Association, Cooperation and Convergence in the Field of Foreign and Security Policy, and Justice, Freedom and Security”. The exploration of the text reveals such gems as this:
“The Parties shall intensify their dialogue and cooperation and promote gradual convergence in the area of foreign and security policy, including the Common Security and Defence Policy CSDP), and shall address in particular issues of conflict prevention and crisis management, regional stability, disarmament, non-proliferation, arms control and arms export control as well as enhanced mutually-beneficial dialogue in the field of space. Cooperation will be based on common values and mutual interests, and shall aim at increasing policy convergence and effectiveness, and promoting joint policy planning. To this end, the Parties shall make use of bilateral, international and regional fora.” this of course was simply unacceptable to the Russians – indeed trade is not so important in this agreement – however one must understand that the security referred to in this document is not NATO – but the European Defence Agency – ie – the hubristic attempt to create a common European Defense. when the ex-president of the Ukraine turned his back, the genuine pro-EU crowd in the Ukraine, thinking that this was simply a trade agreement got agitated – the US – more cynical and with a completely different agenda – to impress the Ukraine into NATO and destabilise Russia itself, mobilised its agents and completely hijacked and redirected the course of this conflict. This is the only way to understand Nuland’s @Fuck the EU statement” – the EU has since understood its massive hubristic fuck up – but could not back down without losing massive problems of credibility – and one has to keep this firmly in mind to understand the position of the EU political elite.
PT II
They needed a way out and Russia’s restraint is providing it – more on this in a while. The EU is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. On the one hand it needs to save face – on the other it wants to avoid friction with Washington which is not averse to any tactic to have its way as we have seen with the 9 billion dollar fine imposed on the French bank – because France will not cancel its Mistral contract. The US elite is not a homogeneous entity either – firmly in the hands of the banksters – no doubt they have influence – but in reality the US leadership is poulled in many different directions – in essence this makes it a heavily armed schizophrenic entity adopting a scatter gun approach, whilst it muddles forward – and this is why it is so dangerous. As i said the Russian restraint has been masterful and necessary – if it had adopted the hot approach, as many here in their emotion advocate – it would have simply driven the EU into the hands of Washington – the extraordinary restraint and the unwillingness to play Washington’s game – have on the other hand given the EU and avenue to back track without losing face – indeed giving it a credible role to resolve this crisis it created in the first place. Divide et Impera is the old adage and Putin is playing to perfection. Only today we learn that:
http://rt.com/news/170012-lavrov-ukraine-talks-peace/
what is there missing in this initiative? The presence of the US!!! True there is in power in the Ukraine today (apart from the Fascists) puppets of the US – but they are literally surrounded on the one hand by the geographic, social and economic reality of both Russia and the EU.
Didn’t Merkel just state that she did not agree with the isolation of Russia? And aren’t US business owners ramping up the ratchet on their government to back down on sanctions – given the disastrous state of the US economy?
Time is on Russia’s side – so is the moral high ground – and it is very important for Russia not to lose that moral high ground – so Russia will keep probing and seeking to divide the EU and the US – whose agendas ultimately differ – and keep up enough of a resistance in the Dombass to make sure that the Ukranian Fascist regime is denied victory. This Russia so far has played out perfectly.

His essays are in English and Spanish there. Your link didn’t give a title, maybe you can find it at his site?
My own opinion of Petras is that he is one the best. One of the very, very few who doesn’t tip-toe around the ZPC problem, and instead lays it all out there.

Perfectly stated.
And Malteser, brilliant commentary, thanks for the overview.
Usually we get to see the geopolitics evolve and miss the ground-level passions and pains of the indigenous people of the day being brutalized by tyrants for gain. But here we’re deeply embedded in the hearts of the resistance and we can miss or forget much of the bigger story being told.
Very interesting what you say, Malteser, and probably true.
I really like that Russia was certainly in the field of EU and together they have a foreign policy, and internal, independent of US.
The problem is that current EU leaders are serving exclusively oligarchs and the market, the banksters, and not give a damn that looks middle Europe in misery.
Of the current EU leaders can people expect nothing, as seen in the management of this interminable crisis. After six long years, have not yet loosened the pressure on people, people who has lost not only its salaries but their rights.
People who is fighting in the Donbass is ordinary people, like all people fighting in all wars…
How the hell will expect anything from a table where Merkel and Hollande sit?
I have fear for people in Novorussia, that many more have to die because negotiations go too slow, because go hungry, cold and endless calamities.
What happens to me with V.V.Putin might look like what happens to many here.
Based on very little reasoned evidences, in something very unscientific, I decided to make with this man an authentic ” act of faith”.
I´m watching him for months, just before arriving at this blog. I see and hear interviews and press conferences and I also follow him now on his own page, I hear his arguments, his entonation and watch his gestures, signs of fatigue and, sometimes, deep sadness on his face, and based in all this, I decide that I can trust this person, that he is with his people, that he is not sold and that he is for peace and progress.
It sounds crazy? It can be, I admit. But I find myself defending him here and there, in the media, even leftist, sometimes on the ground that I have a hunch.
We have lack of heroes in this time when eveything seems to fall apart and we seek between high visible areas, when, perhaps, it would be easier, more reasonable, look between us.

Very doubtful. The threat has been neutralised.
Malteser,
I too think you’re spot-on about the EU and about Putin but the $5 billion Nuland was talking about was a (very) lowball estimate of what we have put into Ukraine over the past 25 years, and into Bandera’s minions here for maybe 50, plus or minus. Since our first color revolution over there kind of fizzled, we’ve been working real hard for a second one — NGOs, funding/training the goon squads (in Poland as well as in Kiev), etc., etc. Just think about how Nuland managed to get those cookies — that, too, took coordination and effort: she didn’t do it out of the kindness of her heart, it was a scheduled photo-op. So we’re hardly innocent in this ongoing atrocity — we’ve just lost control of it, as usual. But then, what’s another failed state? It’s one of the few things nowadays we do quite well, and probably a decent Plan B in any case.
It’s gotten to the point where, when I just read about a very large protest in Hong Kong where the crowd sang, “Do you hear the people sing?” from Les Mis and immediately thought, “Oh no, we’re stirring up trouble there too!” Because that is What. We. Do.
I support Malteser’s analysis.
1) Washington lacks a strategy — unless you consider its thoughtless hegemonic ambitions as one. The imperial capital is divided against itself and only the moronic neocons think they have an idea of where they’re headed.
2) The real battle is for Europe. Russia will eventually prevail in Novorussia — all the cards are stacked in her favor. But if Putin can break Germany (and hopefully France) away from the US/NATO stranglehold, the world will turn upside down, as the empire of chaos loses it hold over the Rimland and sinks into its fetid counter-civilizational sea.
-Armenian Catholic
BOT TAK,
You are making it sound like only the Russians would be in an embarrassing situation. If the plane had been using cluster bombs or white phosphorous, that wouldn’t look good. Or a Polish pilot. Besides, the Western media already scream that Russia is giving MANPADs. And who and why blew up a radar facility or two for the Donbass? Why would the separatists care?

“It’s gotten to the point where, when I just read about a very large protest in Hong Kong where the crowd sang, “Do you hear the people sing?” from Les Mis and immediately thought, “Oh no, we’re stirring up trouble there too!” Because that is What. We. Do.”
I read it is not large by Hong Kong standard. It is a storm in a tea cup. Nothing going to come out of it. Foreign meddling will not be tolerated. Not after the 100 years after Opium war. Chinese government will not be shy about that.
I can’t verify anything in the video, of course, but I’m inclined to think “Sergei” is describing what he saw.
A commenter above pointed out that an earlier version of the video (without subtitles) was posted two weeks ago on the 20th June. So there have been Ukrainian flights since then. This indicates that a “no fly zone” might be premature but not that the Russians didn’t intervene.
There seems to be a pattern of Russian military moves in Russia and covert interventions in Ukraine together with intelligence leaks that have the overall effect of drastically slowing down the progress of the Kiev assault on the East.
All these moves leave lots of room for plausible deniability for the Russians which the Saker has pointed out is crucial for their diplomatic stance which, in turn, is aimed at stopping the war on the East by taking away the European political support for it.
Splitting European political support from the US zionist bankers will mean the Russian/Chinese attack on the US dollar (the foundation of the bankers enormous power) will continue and will prevail. Given that all modern wars have been waged to promote the power of these bankers, their demise will bring peace to the world.
I believe Putin’s goal is nothing less than world peace and prosperity through removing the international bankers’ power over the world’s currencies. That’s the main game and what is at stake. Ukraine is an important part of that, but only a part.
The blogger Rusty mood reports an aircraft (possibly Su-25) crashing on approach to landing at Dnipropetrovsk. The picture in her blog is quite impressive – treat as unconfirmed, though without a second source.
The blog Automotive Catalog has detailed breakdowns of the availability of both Su-24 and Su-25 (select tags Su-24 and Su-25) including last known photograph and last known flying date. The person estimates that the Ukies have lost 20-25% of all flight-worthy aircraft.
Yesterday, I came across a report that Yatsenyuk will be presenting ‘parliament’ with proposals for important necessary changes to the energy system (i.e. gas distribution). I didn’t have time to read it fully, but it looked like weasel words for privatization. I will try to find the article again.
My guess is that this is part of the process for gaining the IMF loans. The oligarchs will gain control of the gas system and the poor ordinary Ukranians will pay significantly higher prices for energy. The extra money be split between the oligarchs and the IMF.

Your views on emotionalism have validity and fortunately some of the opponents are similarly prone to emotionalism, especially when stimulated.
Your analysis of those in the street of law also has validity but perhaps additional factors need to be added to widen it out.
From inception the street of laws project had godfathers – midwives to use the cake lady’s phrase – and formed integral parts of geo-political control mechanisms.
The cake lady’s ambition to restrict her sexual activities to this “body” and to seek more fulfilling relationship with another midwifed project – the jokingly called United Nations – was instructive.
However the attractions of the cake lady were not apparent to the UN and so she is left with a bit of rough – NATO.
The sexual encounters and amatory relations of the EU has generally been understood in “informed” Russian circles, and this understanding was rolled out to a wider population through various experiences including TACIS.
The “association agreement” follows this pattern.
It is true that the street of laws is presently offered a kind of jubilee for its infractions.
However since the world is not binary but laterally interactive, options and strategies are not dependent on the street of law’s actions/decisions on this jubilee.
In terms of isolation I would suggest this is a function of mental mapping – useful in itself to maintain a modicum of anasthesia – but in terms of physical geography and even political geography, extremely debilitating.
Of course perception is usually better from the periphery.

The aircraft in the photo doesn’t look like an Su-25. Wing shape is off. The photo also appears to be faked.
The info about the an Su-25 crashing has been reported elsewhere. See:

“…In the last week almost daily reports of losses of the Ukrainian air force. Moreover, planes and helicopters are dying not only from the fire militias: Wednesday at landing approach at the airport of Dnipropetrovsk aircraft su-25 lost control and crashed. Pilot ejected…”
Вот так. As usual where the claims of separatist supporters are concerned, the picture is a fake. The earliest use I can find for the photo is this http://ria.ru/world/20140617/1012367671.html The picture carries a RIAN copyright. Ria Novosti, like other Russian state controlled media went into war hysteria mode on 21st February and has only recently started pedalling its way back to journalism. Russian Media has started to lose its credibility in Russia (forget overseas) as the hysteria wears off. They are winding down fast now.
@Malteser.
You are right about the EU, except, that I think the terms were so demanding because the EU didn’t really want to deal with Ukraine just now and the Ukrainians themselves wanted a path to membership not just a trade deal. The Russian negotiating tactic was not pretty. A customs blockade. Not a good sign of things to come in the EEU. It’s easier to catch flies with honey. (Which was too little too late).

That reads like it was fresh out of the Ukrainian Ministry of Truth. :D

You may not remember but Biden was a major player in the “break-up” of Yugoslavia.
Even Poroshenko knows this as do some others – some have been jockeying for their own paperclips for a while, apparently without anointment – the fickleness of friends perhaps?
Like Poroshenko and others you will probably remember what happened before and after the last helicopter unaccountably fell from the roof in Saigon 1975.
NATO has no home to go to, although it presently thinks it does. Remember the Bacharach/David song about houses not being homes.
It may help to remember that Vladimir Putin and the team are precise, where as, given prevalent emotionalism your words ” He repeated yesterday his policy to defend Russians everywhere and anywhere” may be open to myriad interpretations.

May I suggest you refer to the collected works of Public Enenemy, especially “Don’t believe the hype.”
More likely that a Ukie pilot tried to defect and other Ukie planes stopped him.
