The enemy is always infiltrated at home in any organization that has the least relevance / significance, be it a successful new political party (Syriza, Podemos…..) whether a successful and relevant channel / blog on the web (RT, RI, The Vineyard of the Saker ….).

Nothing which exerts some influence escapes being infiltrated by the enemy.

These people, raised and trained to tire the others to discouragement and, above all, to sow discord, including indiscriminate and continuous criticism to any member of the party/ channel/ community or personal attacks and attempts to discredit to other members of the party/ channel/ community, especially those who have achieved some significance in some respect, can be differentiated when other members of the party / channel / community begin to jump ship once drained of all its initial energy to the project, but they remain……

Here, however, is needed to keep an eye and be careful not to confuse them with those unavailable to discouragement……

Unaffordables to discouragement would seem that sometimes leave the ship, but it may well be that they are only on vacation, to return with renewed energy, unavailable to discouragement…..

    Avis aux navigateurs…….

      Salam Sister elsi,

The greatest strength of almost every religion is socialism. It cares and tend for poor, as Mother Teresa is a good example.

But religions get infiltrated by The Mafia and the Religions become The Empire. That’s what happened to both Christianity and Islam, after both Jesus (as) and Mohammad (saws).

To have proper equality of income, we have to go back to the basics of religions. In Islam, Charity is one of the Pillars of Islam.

      Best regards,

      Mohamed

    Abby Martin and Chris Hedges:

Your “War Propaganda & the enemy Within” provides a decent compilation of American Oligarch crimes of Terror.

    1. Almost the only, smudge on the DVD, is Chris Hedges’ repeated use of the pronoun “WE” to identify those responsible for the genocidal terror in Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Chile, and within the United States, and a dozen other nations. The seemingly casually thrown out “we” allows the non, or grossly inadequate identification of the terrorist Oligarch killers who continue to plague humanity. It is to be noted that Abby Martin sees, or does not recognize any error in the repeated use/misuse of the “we” pronoun.

I recall a beautiful scene in the movie “Conspiracy Theory”, where Julia Roberts asks Mel Gibson (poor Mel Gibson, how could he have insisted Jews control Hollywood? Where did he ever get that idea? But I digress), she asks Gibson, just who was doing all the bad things he was complaining about, and Gibson responds, and I paraphrase, “I don’t know. Them, or They.” Now, he was correctly using his pronouns. Re-peruse your Orwell and Chomsky, about the importance of linguistics (word meaning) in human communication, and therefore, in human resistance!!!

Hey!!! I didn’t kill nobody! I didn’t do it. “We” didn’t do it. The bastards and their minions who assassinated the Republic in the Coup D’etat in Dallas on November 22, 1963, did it; and THEY have continued to do it ever since.

    2. The other smudge on the DVD lies in the lack of clear political guidance through the minefield of endless rattraps of meandering passageways toward suggested avenues of resistance.

    a. The liberalish socialisticish complaints are made.

    b. The disease (and its carriers) are (somewhat, but, weakly-no names) identified.

    c. The cure is not broached (some kind of socialism? although Hedges-to his credit, admits Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-declared “socialist”), is an imperialist-zionist political servant .

Chris Hedges concludes, with Abby Martin nodding approval, that [politics] were better in the 1930s, (when there were “weak” but “at least” “Communist Parties” to pressure the capitalists).

The Video exudes! No VISION! No HOPE! I don’t argue that they do not have the right to their conclusion. But that is their conclusion.

I and our Anarchist Collective have a different approach. We believe!

Siempre hay Esperanza! Y ella es muy bella!

    For the Democratic Republics!

      @Peter J.Antonsen,

It always seems that better times are/were in the past or in the future, but never now, never today.

Secretly, I dream of a world in which everyone lives in peace. In reality, I know that won’t happen during my lifetime. Should I therefore stop dreaming or let reality guide my further choices?

Talking about word choices; how about this infantile, moral vomit; “…the Kremlin-owned propaganda channel [RT] has become must-see TV. Lovers of democracy and freedom are losers all around.” – brought to you by http://freebeacon.com/blog/rt-anchor-who-called-out-russia-has-strong-instagram-game/

as usual I agree with Peter J. I’m not fond of Abbey Martin…she did something really weird when she was working for RT…I don’t remember exactly what it was, but personally I really like RT. I use them everyday for my news fix. And I like all their very good videos on very many topics….so even though she is still in the ‘cool crowd’ I don’t like her. And Chris Hedges too uses way too many words…so unfortunately, I’m not even going to give this one my time.

        • Anonymous on September 28, 2015  ·  at 10:38 am EST/EDT

…she did something really weird when she was working for RT…

If I remember right she made an emotional speech how disappointed she was because of Crimea and how wrong that was.

I just watched that clip on Youtube. It is worse, imo. ‘From her heart’ she speaks against (Russian) military occupation, intervention and aggression.

Hedges is a moral activist, his solutions always amount to ‘doing what is right’ for the masses, yet he seems to gloss over the intricacies of process that would get us there. His brand of socialism based on ‘people power’ always inevitably becomes a new system of control, where the people inherit leaders who themselves amass power unto themselves.

Until he provides a concrete real world genesis of how this just society is to come about, he’ll remain merely a moral philosopher.

It also seems to me that Hedges sorely misses his days within the establishment as a somewhat fringe correspondent, his melancholy as pronounced as it always is, amplifies itself when he discusses his old life. In this regard Hedges refers to journalists as careerists, and recognizes the self censorship that exists within the journalistic world, yet he seems aloof to the clique of individuals who control 95% of the media.

I’ve not heard him mention once, amidst the ocean of words he’s written, in any detail or with any accuracy the actual clique that runs the media in America. Rather, he spends his time moralizing and deconstructing the symptoms rather than the disease.

I don’t mean to be too critical, but Abbey Martin causes in me a negative visceral reaction. On an intuitive level I sense someone who is far too self important, and holds in too high esteem her activist views, coupled with her overt manliness – I just have a very hard time watching anything with her involved.

Marshall McLuhan the media ecologist who gained famed in the 70’s had an uncanny ability to recognize individuals for their ability to appear natural on broadcast media, he outlined specific characteristics that would play well (and appear as graceful) on either TV or movies (these characteristics were different). Abbey Martin conveys none of these attributes. RT would do well to study some McLuhan, they often appear to pick these awkward media personalities who just don’t appear at ease, Peter Lavelle being one of the exceptions.

As an aside and maybe of note for others. I recently posted a comment on the post “Putin’s Master Stroke In Syria” on ‘Brother Nathanael’s’ website. However to my dismay the comment I submitted had sentences excluded and others entirely revised. I asked that the post be removed. I commend the moderators here for being allowing. Taking a comment and altering the words and meanings is to me a very troubling thing to do. Shame on you Mr.Kapner.

I wish you could remember what abby martin did. Im not sure i trust her either. Im swaying toward the not trusting her but i cant renember why either!! Because her brother just made a video and totally dismisses steven hatfill as a victim and its a long story but he and Jerome hauer are very evil sinister people behind 911, anthrax attacks and the perpetual WWW3 we are all ready in. I should say in my opinion based on the evidence as far as i can tell.

      • TooLegit2Quit on September 29, 2015  ·  at 12:43 am EST/EDT

        @ Daniel:

“Secretly, I dream of a world in which everyone lives in peace. In reality, I know that won’t happen during my lifetime. Should I therefore stop dreaming or let reality guide my further choices?”

Peace is a worthy goal for all, indeed.

I, myself, instead dream of a world where all people can achieve (not aspire to. But actually achieve) a decent quality of life where peace is a given.
So no, don’t stop dreaming, but do allow reality to guide your real-life choices when needed. One can be a pragmatist without having to turn into a complete cynic, I should know… I battle constantly against my own cynicism, but having dreams/ideals is what keeps it a bay.

Those are my two cents anyways :)

    Dear The Saker,

RT has on going updates from the UN Summit:

    http://www.rt.com/news/316610-un-general-assembly-session/

Note that imbecile Chocie boy has already shown himself up again with a large part of the Russian delegation walking out due to his aggressive/politicised speech – does he not understand what the UN is for or what the discussions were supposed to be on?

    http://www.presstv.com/Detail/2015/09/27/431015/Syria-Israel-Golan-Heights-Syrian-Observatory-for-Human-Rights-airstrike

Not only are the French arrogant (self defence my arse) in regard to Syria. Israel air strikes again hitting Syrian Army – so where is the co-ordination with Russia et al? Law unto themselves or trying to ruin Russia’s initiative/Putin’s speech?

    Rgds,

This discussion would be on the one hand an excellent weapon to deconstruct the empire in its current incarnation; yet, in the end, the discussion returns to the old false dichotomy: socialism versus corporatism. Marx said that Hobbes, i.e. the centralized and consolidated state, is the father of us all. Allen Tate, the Southern poet and Agrarian assert that corporatism is merely the stalking horse of socialism. Legally, the corporation is owned by the general stock holders; but effective ownership is held by the boards and the managerial elite. The socialist state is also legally a state in which the citizen have legal ownership or control; yet, in reality, the control rests with the elites, the nomenclatura and the gray-faced bureaucrats.

    The enemy within, indeed….

“The Secret ISIS Safe Havens Nobody Wants You to Know About”

“The large logistical facility that handles both trucked and air dropped supplies for ISIS in both Syria and Iraq is staffed by members of MEK, a pseudo-Islamic cult established during the 1960s in Iran by the Mossad, the same group responsible for fighting alongside Saddam against Iran and gassing 30,000 Kurds to death between 1991 and 1993.

From October 2014 onward, an endless stream of top of the line TOW missiles has been shipped by Raytheon Corporation to US Army supply depots. There is no record of end user certificates transferring these to any other nation.

These missiles ended up at a US Air Force Base in Constanta, Romania. From there, they were flown to Tbilisi, Georgia and from there trucked by British Petroleum and Bechtel Corporation through Turkey and into Syria where they were turned over to al Nusra/al Qaeda forces.

More high tech weaponry paid for by the American taxpayer was flown into a US Air Force Base in Adana, Turkey. From there it was trucked to an ISIS/al Nusra logistics facility run by the Turkish Army in the town of Rehanli, Hatay, Turkey, only miles from ISIS bases inside the Syrian city of Aleppo.

When tracking down the TOW missiles, it was found they had been consigned to the CIA as secret supplies to the Kiev junta. Evidence is accumulating that Kiev is actively supplying ISIS with weapons and, more interestingly, actively advising and assisting with chemical warfare against the Kurds, in exchange for promises from Turkey which may include a Ukrainian gas hookup to the new Turkish/Russian southern route through Romania. Online maps showing this spur have been purged from search engines and wrapped in malware.”

The interview in the video really veers out of reality when Hedges demonizes the Confederate States and gun owners as dangerous, unemployed neo- revolutionaries. Who is it that are the USA’s cultural Marxists? Those in control of the US gov’t, and they are not the members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Hedges must like that aspect of the US Empire that it can sanitize American history and create a new public memory ( goal of neo- liberals ).

    • Robert M. Peters on September 28, 2015  ·  at 10:07 am EST/EDT

Yes, let us see, on the pretext of “freeing the slaves,” actually a pretext created out of whole cloth after the war, Lincoln and the Republican Party launched an immoral, unconstitutional and unnecessary war against the South, a total war waged not only against all infrastructure of the South, but against civilians, women and children, black and white, killing, raping, plundering and burning not only during the war years but also after the war years in the context of Reconstruction and even in the aftermath of Reconstruction. The South, the richest region prior to the war, became and remains the poorest. Regrettably, far to many Southerners serve the very empire which “drove Ol’ Dixie down.” We have become the willing Janissary, i.e. the bleeding edge of the empire’s wars even as the empire airbrushes our traditions, customs and heritage from history. The same armies under the same commanders who raped, looted and plundered their way across the South did the same to the plains Indians on behalf of the railroads. In the end, Lincoln and his Republicans, animated by the shade of old federalists and whigs, destroyed two unions of constitutionally federated republics: the United States of America and the Confederate States of America. He replaced them with a consolidated and centralized state, a Hobbesian state, which is an artificial corporation with a monopoly on coercion, with the ability to determine the limits of its own power and animated by a powerful will, that of the corporatists, the stockjobbers and the paper aristocracy. Yes, the shows demeaning of the South in the last part of the video betrays the fact that Martin and Hedges are much closer to the empire which they claim to resist than they would admit!

I’m from the South. My ancestors fought in the war.I’m named after the main Southern General in the war (as was my father and grandfather). And even I don’t believe your post. There is no doubt (at least to me) that the blame for the war is shared. But its simply not true that Lincoln wanted the war.Had my state and others not seceded and then attacked the Federal troops at Ft Sumter there would have been no war.The Federal troops did behave abominably in their invasion of the South. And we did suffer greatly,my family among many, went from great wealth to being poor by the end of the war.But still, there is no reason today to “rewrite” history to make it appear different than it was.The West and the Ukrainians are trying to do just that about WW2 and the Bandera terrorists.I refuse to follow their lead.

  10. Walter Trkla on September 28, 2015  ·  at 4:54 am EST/EDT

Just finished reading Chris Hedges book “Death of the Liberal Class” and I see like many other left wing writers he has swallowed the Clinton propaganda line on the breakup of Yugoslavia. Professor Emeritus of Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania Edward S. Herman writes in Global Research: The successful demonization of the Serbs, making them largely responsible for the Yugoslav wars, and as unique and genocidal killers, was one of the great propaganda triumphs of our era. It was done so quickly, with such uniformity and uncritical zeal in the mainstream Western media, that disinformation had (and still has, after almost two decades) a field day.

If Mr. Hedges bothered to examine the events that led to the fall of Yugoslavia he would have seen that Yugoslavia was the first domino to fall in the color revolutions that followed and its shadow was NATO expansion. Of great significance was that, “the war created a raison d’être for the continued existence of NATO in a post-Cold War world, as it desperately tried to justify its continued existence and desire for expansion.” Further, “The Russians had assumed NATO would dissolve at the end of the Cold War. Instead, not only has NATO expanded, it went to war over an internal dispute in a Slavic Eastern European country.” This was viewed as a great threat. Thus, “much of the tense relations between the United States and Russia over the past decade can be traced to the 1999 war on Yugoslavia.”[22]

Demonization of Milosevic, who was only guilty of trying to save the unity of Yugoslavia, is no different than what was done with the Libyan, Iraqis and Syrian leadership to justify what followed, invasions by NATO. I find, at least in Chris Hedges book “Death of the Liberal Class” ineptness in evidence about Yugoslavia, and Milosevic unlike much of his other writing.

Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria established Baghdad-based a joint information center. According to an unnamed military-diplomatic source, the initiative’s “main goal…will be gathering, processing and analyzing current information about the situation in the Middle East – primarily for fighting IS.”

An official from each country will head the center on a three-month rotating basis. Its objective is coordinating plans to defeat IS, waging legitimate war on terrorism, polar opposite US policy.

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said “Moscow is acting within the framework of international law, respecting the sovereignty of our county…”

Interesting. Nothing new or particularly brilliant though. And unfortunately it all wound up with empty, tired, lame old prescriptions for a socialist power as the magical elixir.

If you elect a thousand socialists to power in the US why would they be any different than ol’ Bernie?

Socialist vs Capitalist, they are merely opposite poles of the same beast. Private power protected by liberal political architecture morphs into control of the state, and will do what it must to enrich the oligarchs, protect the kakistocrats, and exploit the people.

Socialist power is the state and will do what it must to enrich it’s own oligarchs protect it’s own kakistocrats, and exploit the people.

What is needed is enforced transparency as a prerequisite for all political and financial power!
The technology and organizational know how exists to do that.

Abbey Martin has a great show and I thank Telesur for letting her have the space and independence of mind to continue with her broadcasts. She may not be everyone’s favorite talking head but she certainly takes aim on the empire of destruction.I think her biggest plus is that she has the ability to reach the younger generations that need to know the real truth about America and it’s mantra of endless war. It’s sad to see that so many people like to trash her,but I guess that’s the nature of the beast. She is a strong woman with a sharp mind.I believe she’ll do just fine!!!

Oh,and she is a talented artist also.Check out her art sometime…..
