I just came across this interview with Norman Finkelstein. While it is already 2 years old, it is even *more* relevant, I would even say more prophetic, today.
I got to give that to Finkelstein: he has got tremendous courage and integrity. He should be an example to all of us.
I should mention here that the TV station Finkelstein is being interviewed by is Hariri’s “Future TV” (the one which was torched by the opposition last week). This is what Finkelstein is referring to when he says that “you” want to “live like slaves”. He does not mean the reporter or the Lebanese people, but the Three Stooges and their supporters.
Enjoy this amazing interview:
The Jewish attitude is “never to forgive; never to forget.” Interesting. I wonder if that’s meant as repudiation of the “forgive and forget” maxim taught to Christians.

i heard that speech sometimes last year and i enjoyed it , (as the tv channel inviting Mr Finkelstein is not known for supporting Hezbollah)
Bravo Mr FInkelstein . Mr G.Galloway gave a similar interview to a kuwaiti Paper this week about Hezbollah and it was as Brilliant. You dont get to hear brave interviews from Arab cowards unfortunately.
when Mr Galloway once visited Morocco , i was in the audience and i heard one guy tell Mr Galloway , why dont you apply for a Moroccan Passeport and stay with us , since you care so much about Arab Issue . Mr Galloway was embarrassed and very moved .

Well, I think that in the case of the Three Stooges and the fat millionaires supporting them the issue is not as much forgetting or forgiving, but the fact that the folks at “Future TV” simply don’t care about Lebanon at all. Like all plutocrats they only see the Lebanese people as a resource to be exploited – that is why Harari says that he will not surrender, Gemayel in in Paris and Jumblatt makes overtures to Hezbollah. There is no ‘principle’ of any kind at stake for them.
Look at the chick making the interview. All she cares about is not covering her head, wearing pants and makeup and the right to live a “liberated” life. She never even gave one single thought to the idea of resisting, of suffering for your country or of self-sacrifice. That is why she is so clueless in front of Finkelstein.
But yes, Judaism had already strayed away from its original worldview in the 3rd and 2nd century BC and after the fall of Jerusalem the anti-Christian tone was even more virulent. The times of the creation (not compilation) of the Talmud and the Masoretic canon were also times of intense anti-Christian polemic and ever since it has only become more, not less, strident.
Very good interview. I think it’s actually from this January, not two years ago.
Just the notion that Israel was planning to go to war with Lebanon as early as 2000 (when they pulled most of their troops out of the south) makes you think. Israel is hell-bent on more and more war; there’s no doubt about it.
