Well, this should call for consequences. Time for the Exceptionals and Indispensables to respond with something terrific like Combat Russian Arctic Piracy act.
… anyway, all the super-duper Airborne Force of Russia won’t count for much if the security of their most vital assets is handled as sloppily as in this case …
… and I wonder, what they are going to do about this? What, if the theft of the electronic equipment was just a distraction and the real purpose of the mission was an autonomously operating “implant” in a part of the plane that’s difficult to access? They’d probably have to take the whole Il-80 apart to make sure.

Most likely an inside job and possibly with connections to the outside. Statement that “police is investigating”, especially from REN TV also comes across as strange, because this is an FSB prerogative. So, this all has to be taken with a huge grain of salt and reeks of sensationalism.
“Monday, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution on the “problem of militarization” of Crimea as well as parts of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov put forward by Ukraine. Sixty-three countries voted in favor of the motion, 17 states voted against it, and 62 others abstained. A fairly large number of countries, including Azerbaijan, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan, did not express their position at all. In addition to Russia, among those countries that opposed the resolution were Belarus, Armenia, China, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela. The resolution urges the Russian Federation, “as the occupying Power,” to withdraw its military forces from Crimea. It also calls on Russia to stop the transfer of advanced weapon systems, including aircraft and missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons, ammunition and military personnel “to the territory of Ukraine.”
T-14 Armata was introduced in 2015.
5 years has already passed, and there is none T-14 delivered and deployed yet.
I wonder if it’s s design flaw or simply lack of money or perhaps imported components to build this tank. Any clues ?
This whole “where is Armata” routine for fanboys derives, obviously, from a complete lack of understanding how complex weapon systems develop and are introduced to serial production–it is a long and tedious process measured in years, sometimes decades.
Hmm. How does this fit with the nuke plane being ransacked for specific electronic parts? Seems to be a disconnect here, if they are capable of all this in the arctic, while security issues are apparent. Red Team operation?
Nice presentation by a literate military man. The arctic climate is harsh, things break down often so the integrated systems with redundancy is key. Some of the challenges might well be similar to those in outer space. It seems, at least, in theory this is in place at least with communications. Logistics and supply lines might be a challenge.

20 T-14 Armata have been introduced to IOC, to field units, including combat tests in Syria. T-14 begin serial deliveries in 2021.

Next year delivery starts.
They had to solve certain problems with Armata. Everything is OK now and Armena is ready.
