There is this ‘old American politician with nothing to loose’ phenomenon which I have personally observed in the cases of Paul Nitze or Admiral Elmo Zumvalt: when they are old have have nothing to loose, when they are beyond reach of the US Nomenklatura, they begin saying out loud what everybody in US politics knows, but dares not say.
This time it is Mike Gravel who simply decided to speak the plain truth. It was a delight to hear him. See for yourself:
Gravel has great public speaking skills. i think he’d make a good running mate for Ron Paul.
The reporters reactions to what Gravel said seemed to be a bit over the top to me.

Alas, Paul has already turned down Kucinich, even though he is a personal friend. Besides, both Gravel and Kucinich are fairly tame and lame compared to Ron Paul who seems to have a pure mix of adrenaline and caffeine running in his veins :-)
But yeah, the point is that these three need to unite forces as none of them, not even Paul, will EVER win inside their respective parties. I think the Paul campaign is kidding itself if it thinks that counting on libertarian tendencies in the GOP will do the trick. If Paul cannot get over 10% when his opponents are divided, imagine what will happen when the unite against him. Besides, the corporate media is ignoring him. If he formed a *real* third party the media would have to cover him more.
Yet another polito/economist/pundit who dares speak the truth about:
