Syrian War Report – May 27, 2019: Army Takes Back Kafr Nabudah, Delivers Blow To Militants
On May 26, units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Tiger Forces and the National Defense Forces launched a surprise attack on the town of Kafr Nabudah in northwestern Hama, which had been recently captured by Hayat Tahir al-Sham (the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria) and its Turkish-backed allies.
The attack began in the morning after a series of airstrikes by Syrian and Russian warplanes. By the evening, government troops had established full control of the town killing at least 5 militants.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-led forces seized Kafr Nabudah on May 22. Then, militants claimed that they had killed at least 50 pro-government fighters and captured several pieces of military equipment. Kafr Nabudah is the key strong point of militants in this area. The inability of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to keep it under its control create a threat to the western flank of militants deployed in Khan Shaykhun, Kafr Zita and nearby settlements.
SAA units seized seizing several weapons caches, including Grad rockets, tank rounds, artillery shells, mortar rounds, rocket-propelled grenades and loads of ammunition of different calibers, in Kirkat. The SAA also discovered a underground tunnel leading to a fortified operations room in the town of Qalaat al-Madiq.
The SAA captured Kirkat and Qalaat al-Madiq earlier in May in the framework of its ongoing military operation in northern Hama.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, militant groups lost 350 fighters, five battle tanks, one infantry fighting vehicle, 27 pickup trucks, two vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) and three rocket launches since the start of the ongoing round of hostilities in northwestern Hama.
Clashes in the area are expected to continue. The SAA’s 7th Division has recently sent reinforcements, including T-55 battle tanks, BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, Shilka anti-aircraft vehicles and 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, to the frontline. A source in the 7th Division told SouthFront that these reinforcements could participate in future military operations against Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham in the region. However, he declined to provide additional information.
The Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham repelled another SAA attack on their positions south of Kbani in northern Lattakia. Media close to the TIP claimed that several soldiers were killed. According to sources in the 4th Division, the SAA is seeing Kbani as a high priority target for offensive operations.
Turkey has resumed its weapon supplies to “mainstream Syrian rebels” to help them fend off the SAA advance in northern Hama, Reuters reported on May 25. According to the news agency, Turkey is supplied the militants with dozens of armored vehicles, Grad rocket launchers and anti-tank guided missiles, including US-made TOWs. Multiple Turkish-supplied armoured vehicles were also spotted on the frontline in northwestern Hama.
The de-escalation efforts in the so-called Idlib zone seem to be on the brink of full collapse.
With the false flag chem attacks becoming a useless tactic to stop Russian aerospace and Syria ground action against al Nusra and Uyghurs in Idlib, we will see more desperate Israel missile attacks.
Turkey,Qatar, Israel and the US/Germany/UK/France will have no proxies left, except the remnants the US protects at al Tanf and Abu Kamal.
Idlib will be cleansed. Only a complete 1-80 by Erdogan and the use of his troops against Syria and Russia can stop the operations.
By the end of Sept-Oct. the effectiveness of al Nusra will go to zero. As all enemies of the Russian military soon discover that they are maneuvered into cauldrons and obliterated. There will be no sanctuary for these Idlib fanatics. They were told that surrender was not going to be an option. They were going to be liquidated.
Of course, this is why we hear the bleating hearts of paymasters and supporters (mentioned in my first sentence).
There’s a lot of killing to do by the Syrians and Russian forces. They have warned and urged the civilians to leave, provided safe passage for them, as usual throughout the war. The big difference this time is all the radical Islamic terrorists are going to be killed. Most of them have had nine months to a year to leave Syria. They listened to the wrong people and stayed.
It is too bad that most of them will be killed quickly, in a flash. They deserve much worse. But quick, in a flash, is good, too.
Some of us have been waiting for a long time for retaliation, so you are saying that the never ending list of offenders, actually has an end?
Of course this would be good news for peace in the region, but, i’ll believe it only after I see it.
What the Russian MOD is constructing is a military victory for Syria. It is not merely retaliation.
That would have to include a heavy price paid by Turkey for financing, training, equipping and medically aiding the Takfiris.
Also, France punished for directly assisting the engineering of tunnels, bunkers and reinforced caves with heavy equipment and expertise. Qatar for the billions of dollars paid to hundreds of thousands of fighters for seven years +. Israel for medical, technical and Intel support and IDF AF attacks on Syria, Hezbollah and Iranian militias. Saudi Arabia for financial support to the Wahhabis.
I could go on. Syria would need two hundred years to take revenge for what has been done, and continues to be done to the nation.
What seems to be the plan is to kill in place all the remaining terrorists.
Every week or so Colonel Cassad publishes +18 photos of the remains of these scum. Knowing there was no humanity in them, it is a good feeling to see their lifeless bodies.
Last week were some wonderful drone videos of Russian Aerospace obliterating various buildings, vehicles and arms caches. In each of them, the terrorists were seen scurrying away like rats. But the Russian targeting was so precise and so powerful that no movement was seen anywhere after the dust settled. Truly a joyous sight.
Targets leveled and the subhumans erased.
God Bless the Russian Aerospace and the Syrian Army. They are ridding the world of a horror horde.
Well no, bless your heart if you believe all this can be accomplished, I’m of the frame of mind that this is still going to be a very long battle and difficult to achieve. Dont these critters have defensive mechanisms in place to keep themselves alive under most any circumstance?
When the UK taxpayer funded head chopping and throat slitting filth are cleared out of Idlib and the cleansing is complete, the nightmare will finally end for the people living under subhuman terrorist occupation. Unlike Raqqa and Mosul, which were carpet bombed by the US/ UK like Hamburg and Dresden, with thousands of bodies still beneath the rubble, the Syrian army and its allies are proceeding methodically and cautiously to minimise civilian casualties. The terrorist cockroaches there, including over 50,000 foreign mercenaries, will scurry back to their sponsors, the US/UK/ France/ Turkey/ Saudi Arabia/ Qatar.
All those countries have already paid a richly deserved heavy price for their criminal aggression and the blood on their hands. Countless tens of billions have been paid out to arm, train, transport and pay this terrorist filth. Just one arms deal Qatar did with Croatia to arm them cost $5 billion. Saudi Arabia has done arms deals with Ukraine, buying 100 tanks at a time to arm them. The UK has paid at least £3 billion, and probably more, to sponsor its terrorist proxies, setting up bogus outfits like the White Helmets and their lavish 150 strong PR unit, and the MI6 front Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. All this is just a drop in the ocean. They have thrown everything at Syria and lost. This is like Stalingrad in 1943. Syria is the rock on which Ziocon aggression has foundered. Though at tremendous cost to Syria, which will survive, like a bone in the throat of the Neocohens and their stooges in the region.
There will be no Qatari oil and gas pipelines through Syria. The Zionist Regime and its accomplices will not succeed in destroying another country. And they will pay a heavy price, apart from the tens and hundreds of billions in hard cash. These countries cannot export terror and remain immune to it themselves. Turkey has been destabilised, with hundreds killed in single bombings. It has suffered instability and coup attempts, and slid into dictatorship. It has suffered economically, with its tourist industry hard hit. It is in direct conflict with the US. All this is richly deserved. Jordan, which hosted SAS training camps for terrorists, has over a million refugees. Millions of unassimilable Third World refugees have poured into Europe, destabilising its politics and leading to a growth of populism. This is a major factor in things like Brexit. Last year, Germany spent 23 billion euros on the 1.5 million rapefugees and gimmegrants it took in in 2015. There is the financial cost, the political cost, the general instability spreading outside the region. The loss of prestige from this total failure.
The final results of all this will take many years to work their way through, like ripples in a pond. And none of them will be good for these state sponsors of terrorism.
I agree with your sentiments, and wish god speed to the Syrian, Russian, & Iranian forces fighting in Idlib. Let us pray for many more cauldrons to come!
As much as we like to see slow & agonising upon the Wahabis, Syria needs to rebuild it economy & society as quickly as possible, and it seems a lot of forgiveness by Syrians will be necessary for this to happen.
While I understand President Putin’s motive for offering S-400s to Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, i.e. trying to pry them away from Uncle Scam, it feels like too much like allowing them to avoid personal responsibility for their evil actions. From personal experience living & working in Qatar for 2 years, I know that Gulf Arabs (except Omanis) are generally too arrogant & incapable of accepting personal responsibility, always blaming non-Moslems or “Allan’s will” for their problems.
As for ZATO, with the exception of France & the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral, I have yet to see proper punishment visited upon them. Should we believe that bad karma will catch up with Israel, USA, UK, Canada, etc at some point in the near future?
Great comment. They are finally getting what they deserve!
I see Sky news is heavily promoting claims eg by Amnesty International of Syrian army attacking hospitals etc…sky jounalists . …amid concerns of Idlib…apparently UN going to discuss it……but of course the film shows whitehelmets filming what looks like a staged scene……
You can listen the denonce from Vanessa Beeley where she talk about the real situation in Syria around the war.
Photos today in UK daily Mail with white helmets…….Turkey going to ask Putin to halt in Idlib…..very strange symbiotic relationship…..plus I read yesterday somewhere USA was going to send over some kinda peoples to help stabilise and set up “governments” or administrations east of Euphrates I think I understood.hence Russia saying again USA must leave and sanctions must cease against Syria so it can recover….wonder what happened at UNSC apart from UN and USA saying action against Idlib must cease….what did Russia say….

Russia, Syria Call on UN to Urge US to Withdraw Troops From Syria
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201905291075432319-russia-syria-troop-withdrawal/
“We are calling on the global community, on UN relevant structures and on international humanitarian organizations to take a principled stand and exercise influence on the United States in order to urge it to withdraw its troops from the illegally occupied Syrian territories as soon as possible, as these troops support illegal armed groups and prevent Syria from returning to normal life”, the statement read.
Both countries also called on Washington and Brussels to lift economic sanctions against Syria, stressing that the restrictions complicated acquisition of medical products and raw materials for producing medical products.
“We are calling on the United States and the European Union to lift Syria economic sanctions. Such restrictive measures do not promote the solution of pressing humanitarian and socioeconomic problems that Syria faces”, the statement read.”
Terrorists Prepare Chemical Attack in Syria’s Aleppo, Watchdog Says
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201905291075430169-terrorists-prepare-chemical-attack-aleppo-activists-say/
“Militants from Al Nusra terrorist group are preparing explosives-laden cars and rockets equipped with toxic agents for an attack on the residential areas of the city of Aleppo in northern Syria, Ahmad Kazem, the head of the Syrian Human Rights Network said.
“Al Nusra terrorists prepare car bombs filled with chlorine, white phosphorus and phosphates as well as Grad and Elephant rockets equipped with poisonous substances for attacks on residential areas of the city of Aleppo,” Kazem said.
According to human rights activists, the terrorists plan to use poisonous substances in the areas to accuse the Syrian army of chemical attack.
The Russian Defence Ministry said that Al Nusra militants were preparing to stage a provocation in Syria’s Idlib province in order to thereafter accuse the Russian forces and the Syrian army of allegedly attacking civilians with chemical weapons.”
Syrian Army Repels Another Nusra Front Attack on Kafr Nabudah – Russian Military
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201905291075427731-syrian-army-repels-nusra-attack/
“More than 20 militants from the Hayat Tahrir Ash-Sham [formerly known as al-Nusra Front] terrorist group, with the support of three all-road vehicles armed with large-caliber machine guns, launched an attack on the town of Kafr Nabudah. The units of the Syrian government forces destroyed an off-road vehicle and killed about 10 terrorists,” the center’s commander, Maj. Gen. Viktor Kupchishin said at a daily news briefing.
On the night of May 26, the Syrian army repelled an attack of about 450 terrorists, seven tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles, and 12 off-road vehicles with large-calibre machine guns on Kafr Nabudah. The attack was supported by rocket fire from three MLRS systems.
According to the Russian military, the Syrian government forces destroyed three tanks, two MLRS systems, an infantry fighting vehicle, six off-road vehicles with heavy machine guns and killed about 100 militants in that battle.”
Of Course, de-escalations in the Idlib area are collapsing. Turkey is involved and can never be trusted. It is amazing that Putin still places hope on them. I bet Shoigu doesn’t. Nor, does Assad and the SAA. The jihadists still get supplied by their sponsors in the US and NATO. The only way for the war to end is to smash them. That requires an extra Russian effort, which is presently quite limited.
I could never understand Putins relationship with the Turks, they are responsible for the war in Syria to start with, when part of Aleppo was taken by the head hackers, they had stormed in from Turkey, one of the first things they did was throw postal workers off the roof of the post office.
At some future time, when the Ukraine is back in the fold and Georgia is too, and when rail links between Iran and the new port facilities in Latakia are a regular thing, and the possibility of a temporary closure of the Bosporus is both less likely with a new Turkish leader and less harmful to Russian interests, then and only then does Putin not need to provide stability via Erdogan, no matter how squirrelly he is.
Another factor might be the status of Idlib. It needs to be rectified.
Until then, it is business as usual.
