And the Su-27 really did his job which was to see the lntruder off.
This may be a hint to what the VKS can do to all those recci planes flying at the borders as well. But this was a Russian government plane so the SU didn’t bother with protocol too much … :D
I’m pleasantly suprised that the light blue colour scheme used on Sukhoi’s blends better in background at a distance. The grey F15 stood out as only visible aircraft from a couple hundred meters away. Ironically, the Sukhoi was more prominant when closer. Excellent colour choice, I was completely unaware.

Therefore, most likely scenario is a Russian fighter with a camera plane in tow arrived too late. So the pilot went after a post-mission F-15 that was low on fuel.

F-15E is considered the Strike Eagle modified to additionally, carry out attacks on ground targets. It has a 2 seater. The F-15C is single seat. As for the ignorant comment about ordinance. It is carrying two external fuel tanks that jettison. Any other weapon loadouts are mission specific. This event is already known and the comment you are making is silly assumptions. Then basing your own ignorance you deduced the pilot is unprofessional.
This is a video of a US plane jumping a Russian transport plane. The Sukhoi positioned between gives that away. The US fighter and Russian fighter were both professional. Radio communication was definitely going on as they banked at the same time.
There was nothing wrong going on between the planes. The problem that exists is US putting airbases in the Baltics and intercepting every plane with transponders off. In other words, the political choices (listing those would be eyewatering).
The F-15 should have been shot out of the sky using all rocket and cannons so to leave as few parts as possible , then just play dumb, a F-15 shot down ?? Oh, Hugh!, we don’t know anything, but there was a plane with a boxcutter and a beard on board seconds before the disapearance of the F-15, we have camera proof from one of our satellites. But our planes where far away, if you say otherwise you indulge in conspiracy theories !!

Did a quick search, I may be confusing this encounter with one that happened in 2017 when a nato f-16 got too close to the plane carrying Shoigu.
