Dear friends,
While I have not taken any final decisions about the course of this blog, one thing I can already say now: your kind letters of support have made me decide that this blog will not close so please keep an eye on it: subscribe to it, come and check it out from time to time, or send me your email address and I will include you on my “Saker’s friends” mailing list. Please understand that I need a break and I need some time to decide on a new direction so stay tuned, ok?

Thanks for the mailist invite. Unfortunately email is not very efficient for me. I’ll visit often though. Your blog has been included in my ‘daily round’ for quite some time now. I pray your leave is short & fruitful and that it brings you the solace you need. Take care!
@fatima: thanks for your kind words. I will take some time off, but will be back soon.
@AA: you are, of course, already on my mailing list, dear friend.
@gene: sure. as I wrote to fatima, I will be back in a while.
Kind regards to all,
VS
Have been away for a while – sorry to hear about your recent troubles. Do you have my email?
@Irish eyes: I assumed I had your email, but I just checked and it was not in my list. Could you please send it to me so I can include you in my “Saker’s friends” list?
Kind regards,
VS
I’ve read your column with interest and appreciation, but now all I sense is self pity. Kids are getting mauled and killed, countries destroyed, economies ruined and you want to fold up and hide in your den because you got your nose bloodied. Wake up and man up. get back to work!

“In less than two years, the lease on the largest and most important US military base in Latin America will run out. The base is in Manta, Ecuador, and Rafael Correa, the country’s leftist president, has pronounced that he will renew the lease “on one condition: that they let us put a base in Miami–an Ecuadorean base. If there is no problem having foreign soldiers on a country’s soil, surely they’ll let us have an Ecuadorean base in the United States.”….. :)
Peace,
Nice blog keep up the good work. I have added you to my blog roll. I have a found a lot more information about this via your blog. Looking forward to reading more
