On the heels of Neo-liberalism, since the Reagan years, we have watched both private and state universities become 100% financialized by Wall Street & the entire US Financial Market Result? College tuition/costs have skyrocketed while the top-tiered professors have retired or been let go. In their place, poorly educated/part time “teachers” at State universities are seen everywhere.
In private universities, most “professors” have been brainwashed – especially in teaching one form of finance: US Capitalism. As Andrei notes, the end product are 3nd rate brains, manning the entire system. It is pathetic.

I watched a documentary a few years back, maybe less, with this covid crack I tend to lose months. Anyway a middle aged guy with a wife and 3 kids had taken on a $30k student loan in 1985 or so and was still paying only on the interest of that loan which had swelled to $216k. He was earning $45k a year. 30 years on you can imagine the size of loans required is 3/4 times that figure with the subsequent interest payments and little chance if your degree is non science or tech based that you’ll ever pick up a good paying job in a recession/depression. Not only them but their parents, next of kin, even the postman who delivers their mail, the Banker’s hoods come after.
Still the Banks are still lapping up student loans and I reckon those crafty parasites have a .Gov Fed Secured Guarantee. The rascals.
