It’s very Trumpy. I mean normally, I would figure, if I’m going to back down, and the chances are the person I’m threatening isn’t going to be bluffed, why would I make a threat in the first place? But Trump, and apparently his people, will bluster anyway. I guess they figure it’s like media retractions of inaccurate stories–everyone sees the story, but the retraction is buried at the bottom of page 10. So they bluster and threaten and it doesn’t matter that they get owned because nobody sees that part.
Fortunately the whole world is seeing “that part” right now. I congratulate these two countries for working through this mafia style oppression. I see this more like the story of the woman (Iran) sitting in the dentist chair with the dentist’s nuts in her hand and saying you better not hurt me!
of course they are not good at anything.
that’s what happens after several generations of ‘rule’ by a bunch of incompetent dumb, uneducated people (i.e. their parents pay for a library at MIT – and they get their degree from MIT etc) who get jobs through contacts and connections.
They are heavily overrated also due to their powerful propaganda (Hollywood and other BS they advertise with their loudest megaphones) .
They are also cowards. I have lived in the US long enough and I have met these people and their families. Their only skill is usually kissing ass to their parents (so to get the inheritance) – and their parents did the exact same thing with their parents etc…
The RT interviewer suggests there ‘might be some nefarious business’ between Venezuela and Iran which would justify US aggression. Strange role pretending to be devil’s advocate for Empire.
The RT interviewer also suggests that the five tankers are bringing ‘humanitarian assistance’. That is an insult to Venezuela – buying Iranian fuel.
The ambassador (to UN, not US) does not really slam the US (being an ambassador to UN – super polite), he just points out the right of Venezuela to engage in trade, explaining how US economic warfare has affected the refinery capacity of his country, hence the need to purchase fuel from Iran. Actually he makes an appeal to comply with international law to an avowed enemy who is out on the destruction of his country. Naive is the word. But hopefully he used it to gain a bit of time for war preparations.
“The Iranian regime has continued its nuclear brinkmanship by expanding proliferation sensitive activities. These escalatory actions are unacceptable and I cannot justify renewing the waiver for these JCPOA-related activities as a result,” argued Pompeo in the May 27 news release.
He also noted that the State Department also moved to sanction “two leaders of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program”: Majid Agha’i and Amjad Sazgar.
JCPOA, INF, Open Skies, sanctions, killing Soleimani, threatening to restart nuclear tests, soon START 3 treaty will also be terminated.. .
Trump administration is 100% reckless. We are heading to very big mess at full speed.
Iran delivering fuel to Venezuela in the Caribbean, is a big deal!
Please chalk up another one for the Multi-polar World
As sovereign states, Iran and Venezuela do not require the permission of the US to conduct trade between themselves.
And the sooner the US and Americans accept this fact the better.
The US is a power in unavoidable decline and whether it likes it or not, the multi-polar world is here to stay.
That being said, it must be pointed out that having an arrogant fool like Trump as president, means that America’s decline gets accelerated.
Years from now, this act of defiance by Iran will be acknowledged by scholars, for what it is : a watershed moment and a vivid example that highlighted America’s relative geo-political decline.
If you want to know what a big deal this is, just look how the Zionist-controlled MSM have chosen to not report it at all.
They know the significance of the event but they opt to ignore it and hope that no one else notices.
Slaps to the face is what Iran keeps delivering to the US.
Iran and Venezuela must remain vigilant so as not to allow any opportunity for Israel to stage any false flag ops.
Because Israel would love to sneak a strike any one of these Iranian vessels, with the hope that Iran mistakenly retalates against US assets and trigger a war between the two, while Israel sits on the sidelines.
Thats what Israel attempted in 1968 with its traitorious attack on the USS Liberty. Israel wanted for the US to blame Egypt for the attack and have war break out between the 2 countries.
The question if Iran is sending to Venezuela something that threaten the US is interesting because they are trying to say that Iran is sending guns or weapons in this 5 ships. But I think it doesn’t matter to Us if they do commerce of that kind of merchandise because they are free countries that can commercialize any kind of merchandize, I repeat, they are free countries.
Absolutely. The USA is the world’s major arms dealer. American leaders have a lot of nerve trying to prevent any other country from participating in the worldwide arms market. Of course they would like to have a monopoly in this market.
But of course the exceptional nation’s premise that it has has god-given rights to control others is the rationale for seeking to control nuclear “proliferation.”
While at the same time breaking any deal it so chooses. “We get to overturn the chess game, and all the pieces are ours.”
It is perverse. It is nake aggression. It is also, apparently, a gigantic “display” such as those made by the males of certain bird and other species to puff up one’s neck hairs, or hind parts or some such to make oneself look big and scary and maintain dominance via intimidation, without actually having to follow through and get ruffled feathers.
Good for Venezuela for proceeding calmly, and for calling out Trump and the monster Pompeo.
Speaking of puffed up. Every time I see a set of quotation marks anywhere near the name of that vicious sack of lard attached to a bull dog’s head I cringe with both fear and shame at what is to be found within the marks.
Does Trump have Pompeo on a leash? There is no way to know. Maybe Trump is controlling the theatrics, the boom crash sound effects, the deployment of the intimidation “ruff.”
Well, remember the doctrine invoked of “preventive war” for the trashing of Iraq? because of those non existent WMDs? Now the sophists have come up with something called “anticipatory self defense” for, say, if a country is smuggling or trafficking or even outright shipping WMDs to another country.
But even that little legal scam is limited by 3 aspects: 1. specificity ( the intervening country has to know exactly what it is looking for) it is not an excuse to board and snoop. 2. necessity i.e. that it poses an “immediate threat” upon delivery like a contraband nuke and 3. that proportionality be administered to the threat posed (one can’t blow a ship out of the water just because it is bringing long range missiles to Caracas, for example.)
Maybe their Harvard lawyers told them that they were on shaky seas legally heading into deep waters of piracy–not that piracy concerns stops Trump from outright stealing Syrian oil. Or someone else said, ” Not a good time: Not Now.” I suspect the latter since these people are without principles.
What courageous Venezuela needs is a strong and committed Revolutionary Guard. And I think I know which country can help them to set it up.
Once it is set up there Venezuela will be able to help other South and Central Americans who want to relieve themselves from underneath the bloody boots that are choking them. Just a thought that crossed my mind.😊

Maybe there are just not smart, and not very good at what they do?

if I remember correctly, US under Trump were the first to withdraw from JCPOA. Isn’t it a little bit hypocritic for Pompeo to refer to that agreement?
