The President of Chechnia, Ramzan Kadyrov, has just confirmed that Chechen terrorist leader Doku Umarov, the self-styled “1st Emir of the Caucasus Emirate and 5th President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria” has been killed in a special operation of the Chechen security services.
Recently, Dokku Umarov had promised to attack the Sochi Olympics. The leader of the Ukrainian Nazis Dmitri Iarosh had appealed to Umarov to attack Russia and the Ukraine.
Umarov was the last major Chechen terrorist still not killed by the Russian or Chechen special services. Though he had no more real power – the Chechen insurgency has been basically wiped out – he was still the living personification of evil for many Chechens and Russians and his death marks the end of a tragic and ugly era. May God protect the Russian and Chechen people and may they always live in peace together.

Lots of victories for the Russian government, both symbolic and literal.
And since the Russian government has been a paragon of diplomacy, decency, intelligence, patience, determination and most of all wisdom, it may be that this sequence of events marks a turning point, a shift of the pendulum towards the aforementioned qualities.
But beginnings, are also endings…and empires in their death throes are like wounded and rabid animals, so where is animal control, to quarantine the beast until it safely and ideally passes to become merely a dream in the past? The UN? (Jk)
There are ideals and then there is reality. there will be blood, but if there are competent and compassionate forces at work, may they act for the freedom, health and well being of the earths creatures.
Ahh dreams, it is good to dream, however what has happened, for those who have the I to see, says that we must be the ones to fight for our freedom, tis the price we must pay for allowing the situation to progress to this stage.
From a Bostonian on the 1-year anniversary of the marathon attack, thank you Russians and Chechnyans for bringing justice to a killer.
Boston Guy
@Boston Guy:thank you Russians and Chechnyans for bringing justice to a killer.
Well, I hope that you are right. I mean – Umarov was a terrorist for sure, but I have the biggest doubts about the Boston attack, specifically, I have a very hard time believing that a) Tsarnaev did it and b) if he did it, under whose orders. And then there is the totally incredible execution by the FBI of Todashev in Orlando which also stinks to high heaven (I posted about that here: http://vineyardsaker.blogspot.com/2013/07/my-hypothesis-as-to-why-three-fbi.html
Bottom line: neither Tsarnaev nor Todashev fit the typical profile of Chechen terrorists, and the number of weird things which took place around that bombing is huge.
Not saying that they did not do it or that Umarov was not behind it, only that I have doubts.
My 2cts.

Umarov dead is good news, but the Imperial Moloch in Mordor on the Potomac, in league with the evil religious primitives of Saudi Arabia, will find others, even worse. They are breeding a new generation of cannibal butchers in Syria even now.
Congratulations and many thanks to Chechen security services for this really very nice job!
Today the world is better than yesterday.
But remember, Ukranians, that Yarosh is still alive…
Scan, they caught up with Bandera, too, eventually.
Mulga, nothing that a special gun that spray cyanide dust into the victim’s face can’t resolve.
As the “great democratic leader”, Mr. Bandera, has proved.
Monsieur Oumarov est mort,
Mironton, mironton, mirontaine,
Monsieur Oumarov est mort,
Est mort et enterré. (bis)

In one comment on RT’s YT channel, I said: “Syria is new Stalingrad for Russia”. It seems I was right for, Russia is now in the counter-attack phase:).
To be honest, in my most optimistic dreams I didn’t expect such a quick return of Russia to the international stage. In historical terms, the Putin’s era is but a blink of an eye, and the worst of Russia’s enemies failed to calculate such a turn of events in such a short time.
Can’t argue with the fact that unpredictability is the strongest weapon in his hands. Combined with Putin’s Judo philosophy – use your opponent’s might against him – (Ukraine is so far the best exampel of it!), it does wonders! If anything, Putin must be thankful to his enemies; without their hubris & incompetents, he wouldn’t have anything to beat them with.
Damn! Still can’t access rt.com.
Good news!
About Todashev, I’m almost sure the stupid guys they sent offended him with insults such “son of of bitch…etc” which provoked his reaction.
Your address in Switzerland was made on purpose?
Mr Saker, many things going on around Ukraine.
But now Israel has attacked Syria, the embassy and consulates have to leave the US. Turkey has threatened to close the Bosporus. Probably a bluff…
The US has always claimed it could fight at least 2 wars.
Russia has gained a great victory, not just geopolitical, but also moral (IMHO).
But I´m worried about places like Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Venezuela, and even Cuba and Brazil!
Would Russia (+ the BRICS) be able to counteract US rage and countermeasures (coups, colored revolutions etc.?)
Wow, Umarov is dead! Has NATO creeps at KavKaz said anything about this?
That would be interesting..
I think I’ll look!
