C’mon Saker, you have to agree with the Chinese general when he suggested that Russian initiated ceasefires (as it concerns Syria, Iran, and Hizbollah) and humanitarian actions WERE premature having taken place before the military annihilation of the rebel fighters.
Iraq barely rates a mention nowadays, like Yemen.
yet to note Mosul is final big city there still held by ISIL.
Could explain noticeable ‘pivot’ by US/French into Ghanistan & Libya these past few weeks—lost cause here, so big push now there, with B-52s restarting bombing after a decade off there, etc.
Brigadier General Najm al-Juburi from the operations command for Nineveh, the province in which both Qayyarah and Mosul are located, said the town was now encircled.
Iraqi security forces have been operating in the area for weeks, as part of shaping operations for a major offensive on the city of Mosul in the coming weeks or months.
Militarily the Chinese may have a point but what they appear to miss is that Russia is operating from a perspective of diplomacy. Russia has long experience in this art. China does not. Russia appears to be playing a very long game, one that includes winning the peace that comes after the battle for Syria. No use winning a battle only to lose the war.
China is very good at talking – let’s see them act.
I haven’t seen anything from them yet they sit in judgement.
They seem to have a kind of superiority syndrome. Which comes from developing their economy alongside the Americans.

More bad news for the terrorists, this time in Darayya, massive surrendering and defection right now, after the 4th Mechanized has reached the point to cut them in two. It seems the battle for Darayya is really close to the end…this is a 5-year long battle.
Wrapping up Darayya will mean thousands of battle hardened SAA storming the remaining rats in East Ghouta, then the Saudi backed Alloush’s gangs will be in a desperate mode. This is evolving very fast, all indications of a very significant collapse in coming among the terrorists in all Ghouta.
This intervention has all the markings of a intervention, and hopefully with China’s support the US will finally see the light and get the serious help that it needs.

Qayyarah lies on the western bank of the Tigris river, about 60 kilometers (35 miles) south of Mosul, the ISIL group’s last major urban stronghold in Iraq.
