Complete economic breakdown seems to be the only option for Ukraine , but not only for Ukraine . Portugal , Spain , Italy, will have the same problems Greece succumbed to . It may very well be the beginning of a world wide depression
the end of the world as we know it… the US dodged the bullet twice by creating/supporting a war in Europe… I think they will not manage that this time…
“The US has offered to increase military aid to Israel by another $1.5 billion per year to ease tensions over the nuclear deal with Iran, media has reported. Defense Secretary Ash Carter is expected to make the offer during next week’s visit to Tel Aviv.
The proposed increase would see Israel getting an additional squadron of F-35 fighter jets, funding for research and development of missile defense systems, and ammunition to replenish the stocks used in last year’s bombing of Gaza, Israeli sources told Jerusalem Post.” Link to Strategic Culture Foundation..
Russia wants to sell equipment and also be a superpower guarantor of stability in the region. Working with Egypt, Iran, Syria, Iraq is good diplomacy, good MIC business, and good geopolitics.
The US will have to spend and spend to keep trying to catch up.
Putin is Reagan as Obama is Brezhnev.
The Judo Master keeps the Hegemon off-balance.
All that US can do is spend more.
Meanwhile, the US can’t even defend its own bases inside America. (Chattanooga)
Selling F-35s will be the final debacle. Those dogs can’t hunt.
Helmets cost $400,000 and don’t do their job. The plane can’t fight an F-16.
No aviator wants to be in one facing the Russian air force.
Now its been one year since the downing of flight MH17 and the whole world is still awaiting answers from the so called “investigation”.
One year on and still not a single piece of information from the downed flights black boxes has been released, the black boxes are being held in Farnborough in the UK.
When the German airlines plane went down in France earlier this year the cockpit recordings from the flights black boxes were released within 3 weeks of them being recovered so why no information from MH17s black boxes a year on ?
I would strongly suggest to the still grieving relatives of the victims of this flight, if you really want closure and justice for the deceased who were brutally and deliberately murdered, to all get together and hire yourselves the most high powered solicitors you can find ( and I am pretty certain there are even those who would act for you for free ), and start litigation against the corrupt bastards in office to force them to release the cockpit recordings of MH17 otherwise left up to the inhuman scum who “govern” the west the downing of flight MH17 is going to go the same way as the kennedy assasination or the Martin Luther King killing.
Us jaded types would say the big contradictions have been in Moscow. They have spent the last 40 years or so trying to converge with the West. Andropov’s policy, but basically the same ever since. So Russia wants to have all kinds of things be “Western compliant”, including things like educational standards. Thus no alternatives developed in even the most basic way for things like VISA cards, and a colonial system for most of the economy. Colonial, but Western-oriented, which seems to be so attractive to the elite of Russia.
Even in this war, it is like Moscow was super-aggressive in gathering in the Crimea, and then went back to “We want to be friends and business partners.” This goes beyond normal contradictory behavior and starts to sound almost schizophrenic. The West wants Russia as a friend and business partner, but that would start with things like Crimea back to the Ukraine with no Russian Navy and Khodorkovsky as President. That is the whole point of convergence from an American point of view, and perhaps a German one as well.
I love the program, but I think Peter Lavelle is a bit too biased here.
@ Demie van der Hoeven,
Q; but I think Peter Lavelle is a bit too biased here.
R: would you be kind enough and elaborate?
Why? Because he doesn’t present the Party Line, except scornfully? There are plenty of outlets gleefully chirping the Party line.
