De Spiegel denies that Ukraine is on the verge of collapse” rebels hold only 1% of the Ukie territory and 9% of population. Federalization is wrong, der Spiegel claims that Donbass can’t stand on its own feet, without help from Kiev. In Kharkow there are so many Ukie flags, showing that the town wants to distance itself from Russia and turns westwards. Porky already pledged that he wants Ukraine not to become member of NATO, so what more does Russia want? Also, Ukraine will not give up Crimea, because it is part of the Ukie self image, no matter how much German politicians try to appease Russia.

I don’t know if the article at Asia Times, Sanctions rebound to hit Europeans, by Brian Cloughley (always one of the most intelligent observers of international affairs) has already been mentioned on this blog, but if so it deserves a second mention. He has some very harsh words (and well-deserved) for the idiotic and immoral policies of the US and the UK of imposing sanctions on countries which they perceive as an obstacle to their wish to achieve global hegemony. A sample:

The West’s malevolent sanctions on Russia were not imposed because Russia had in any way affected the well-being, economic circumstances, territorial integrity or social structure of the United States or of any nation that jumped on the US sanctions’ bandwagon. There was no question of enforcing sanctions because Russia’s actions anywhere in the world had impacted adversely on one single citizen of any Western nation. But they were imposed, anyway, just to try to make things difficult for Moscow and to try to ratchet up tension between Russia and the West.

The whole article is a brilliant condemnation of what the US and the UK have been doing for many years, and continue to do. Of course, trenchant intelligent criticism by people such as Cloughley will have no effect on the sanctioneers. Only the collapse or destruction of US and European societies (and not long now in coming) will demonstrate to the political leaders in the West the consequences of their immorality and their insanity. Tough luck for the citizens of their countries.

Please, do you think some member of the russian team could polish this yandex translation of an article by Glaziev?

    http://translate.yandex.net/tr-url/ru-en.ru/rusvesna.su/recent_opinions/1408985330

While what it says is more or less understandable, I find this paper is of paramount importance and think it is worth having it translted in a more precise way.

Necause, many other countries fall as well prey of the same USAN traps and tricks, ruining their own economies to the higher glory of the USAN regime, whom they help in its task to destroy them back.

Hence the importance of having the accurate message from Glaziev, both a highly informed person and a gifted intellectial.

    Thanks in advance.

Wonder what Russia’s view is about Israel.. And why does Israel want Russian anti-aircraft missiles?

With the recent US announcement of that the Pentagon put on hold a shipment of ‘Hellfire’ missiles to Israel as a warning to Jerusalem, the country is turning to other arms and munition sources to acquire new weapons.

Israel purchased hundreds of Russian-made shoulder-fire missiles in recent years,

The Defense Ministry has remained vague with regards to its arms trade, but several reports submitted to the UN’s Register of Conventional Arms reveal much on the matter. Ukraine for instance sold Israel 193 missiles and 32 launchers, of which many were Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles.

Other countries have also sold Russian-made arms, including the Czech Republic, which in 2006 sold Tochka tactical missile systems to Israel. In 2004, Bulgaria sold Israel six 130 mm artillery systems.

Gleb Bazov just translated the most moving poem over at Slavyangrad. It is quite nice in English, but I noticed it even rhymes in Russian.

    A Promise To Oneself

Don’t wait for orders! Don’t delay
    With reference to rest!
Forge forth! Through wind and piercing rain
    And blizzard’s howling wail!

    Abandon comfort’s cozy quilt —
You’re young, the way is yours!
You’ll have the time to rest your soul
    When they lament your death!

Be brave, be fair, don’t heed the tongues
    That ridicule and sneer.
And as a leader, take the brunt
    Of duty on yourself!

If you have never been at fault,
    Your life’s a wasted bloom —
You’ve shied away from picking up
    The burdens of this world!

Whatever brings your lot to you —
    Success or failure’s wrath,
Remember this – your measure’s worth
    Will only judge our Lord!

Always refreshing to hear some hard truth. I think the EU as shot itself in the truth Big Time. The advantages of Russia as a partner in a pivot to Asia/China/India is all destroyed now. The EU as thus enslave itself to the US(a faltering economy on its own), while strengthening Russia relationship with China/India/Asia and BRICS. The relationship as been set back to WW2 era, and the Europe is the big loser again! In a decade time, many of these bunch of inexperienced/unintelligent/stupid/amateurish,privileged irresponsible some unelected politicians/so called leaders should be held responsible after a revolution in Europe which i seriously think is not far off down the line due to the disastrous policies and economies they have unleashed on Europe especially pre and after the financial crisis.

  14. Anonymous on August 25, 2014  ·  at 9:08 pm EST/EDT

Poroshenko has dissolved the stooge government of Ukraine- paving the way for MARTIAL LAW to be imposed across the nation.

Anyone reading the REAL data coming from Ukraine will have seen how senior, ‘NEUTRAL’ (ie., Soviet era, non-Right-Sector commanders) figures overseeing Kiev’s war have been demanding the immediate imposition of martial law. Their justification was that Kiev has to formally recognise it is at war (and implicitly this implies Kiev would then have the legal ‘right’ to seek military assistance from any ‘ally’- obviously NATO nations).

Kiev is losing the war in Novorussia, and losing it very badly indeed. But the brave defenders of Novorussia have neither the men nor the resources to do more than just defend- the same situation we see with the Assad regime in Syria. Novorussian forces can, of course, build better defences that push back the neo-Nazis to positions where their ability to emulate the Jewish State’s Holocaust of Gaza is mostly negated.

However, Kiev can plan the next attack, and the next, and the next, and the next, and the next- each time building up larger, better trained military units. Shock troops can attempt hit-and-run strikes against soft civilian targets in Novorussia, Boko Haram style. Kiev terrorists can be infiltrated into Novorussia to engage in the car bombing tactics so favoured by Israel in Lebanon.

Until Novorussia becomes a proper nation- which can only happen with explicit OVERT Russian support, NATO is free to explore every option to carry out atrocities against Novorussia, via its mercenary and neo-Nazi proxies.

Don’t get me wrong- it looks like Novorussia has won (thank god) with Russia gradually converting Novorussia into a free state as the West did with Kosovo. Only air superiority could change things for Kiev/NATO, and even the most pessimistic person does NOT believe Russia would allow this.

But Obama is mad, and his (mostly) Jewish Neocons, like Victoria Nuland, are more insane still. The Jewish leaders of the stooge government in Kiev want to emulate their brothers in Israel, and ‘Gaza’ Novorussia. Even the low level leaders of the West feed this madness- and the Jewish controlled mainstream media is currently DEMANDING no compromise or peace-treaties with Russia over the issue in all their editorials.

So expect Kiev to go all psycho with Novorussia in the coming weeks. Ukraine has built dozens of primitive nuclear warheads using fuel from its many power stations after Ukraine gained its ‘independence’, and Russia removed all its nukes. How do we know this? Because Ukraine’s most famous recent leader told us so in a leaked phone conversation shortly after she was released from jail- and she would know.

Kiev has already deployed chemical warheads against Novorussia, as multiple video evidence confirms. They do this to psyche themselves up to finally using their nuclear warheads.

    @ Dutch

De Spiegel.de went to bed and published without watching Ms. Merkel’s tv interview yesterday.

In Ukraine and Germany, it’s the economy. Sanctions are hurting. Ms. Merkel and her business Titans want an exit.

Highly recommended read. Ukraine: Economy declines, Merkel Sues for Peace

Over at MoA, Bernhard has this interesting piece centered on Ms. Merkel’s TV interview yesterday. Ms. Merkel now appears to be the bride with cold feet.. Perhaps merely for domestic consumption, if not she is pivoting away, as Germany’s business leaders have been vociferous over sanctions:

    Here is this little gem-

    >>[Merkel] mentioned Ukrainian “decentralisation”, a deal on gas prices, and Ukraine’s “trade relations” with Russia as elements that could bring about an accord [between Ukraine and Russia].
    …
“I want to find a way, as many others do, which does not damage Russia. We [Germany] want to have good trade relations with Russia as well. We want reasonable relations with Russia. We are depending on one another and there are so many other conflicts in the world where we should work together, so I hope we can make progress”.

This also from an interview Merkel gave to public German TV yesterday:
A solution must be found to the Ukraine crisis that does not hurt Russia and which the Ukrainian people must choose for themselves, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Sunday.
    …

(snip) Merkel said that if Ukraine opted to rejoin the Eurasian Union with Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, then Europe would not make “a huge conflict” out of it.

    (snip)
Additionally to the economic side, pressure on Merkel also grows because there is more and more doubt, even in German mainstream media, about the veracity of the Ukrainian propaganda and about the destruction of flight MH17. Why is there is no news about it? Is there a coverup
    (in German)?<<

    Nebojsa,

Good job. It was an effective point about the book mentioning Serbia as a lesson for Russia. And the bit about only rebellious provinces was effective as well.

As a minor suggestion, I would have added something to the bit about radical Islam thinking its way is the only right one. Perhaps something like “Maybe that is why the West has been so happy to fund and promote these dangerous and violent radicals – they link alike in their crazy worship of power and inability to recognize another point of view.”

Anyway, you did well. Keep up the good work.

There is a NATO Summit for War next week in Wales (September 4-5, 2014)

Also next week we are supposed to get the MH17 Preliminary Report released. “First week of September”.

I am willing to bet that part of what Putin will tell Porky this week in Minsk is.

We are going to release our MH17 tapes next week – Wednesday September 3.

You better make sure that you get this Preliminary Report released by then with full disclosure lest we shall have to go public with what we know. We can’t afford a NATO Summit of War to convene covered in lies.

  26. Nora on August 26, 2014  ·  at 12:42 pm EST/EDT

    Nebojsa,

Your observations were very astute. I really liked the points you made about anybody’s right to have a national interest, our insistence on imposing our will as law while utterly disregarding any laws we choose, flipping the script (boyoboy, do we do that!), and that if Democrats and Republicans can’t communicate or understand each other here, how can we possibly understand the rest of the world. Except, of course, in all three of those cases, there’s such a deep conviction that one’s own side is absolutely, Utterly. Right. In. All. Things. that there’s no desire whatever to even begin to consider what anyone else might have to say. Plus an incredibly deep emotional investment, almost a desperate need, really, to believe in the superiority of one’s “team”, because otherwise… well, what, really? Something truly horrible might happen? In any case, I think it’s neat that you enjoyed it, bc we sure did too! And learned a lot in the process — thank you!
