I have made this point before and I will continue to make it. All of the ceasefire talks before September 30, 2015 were preconditioned with either Assad stepping down before the talks or stepping down at the end of the talks. So they never got off the ground.
On September 30 the Russians entered the fray with cruise missiles from their navy on the Caspian Sea and their bombers from Latakia. After 2 months of these Russian operations, wise heads in the State Department and the Pentagon prevailed and a ceasefire was demanded of Russia but without the instant departure of Assad. But there was an agreement to separate the terrorists from the nice rebels. This after much effort was expended embedding those two groups.
The Russians knew what the US was doing, but because the Syrian Army was now in control of more of the Syrian ground than they had been before, and Kerry was screeching about a ceasefire, the Russians agreed to a ceasefire, but made no concessions. They knew almost two weeks ago that the US would not be able to separate the rebels from the terrorists. And that Russia would not be bound by a ceasefire which the US could not deliver ts promised separation.
Then the Pentagon, at odds with the State Department about the terms of this ceasefire, decided it did not want to share its intelligence with the Russians, so to terminate the ceasefire they ‘accidentally’ attacked a position of the Syrian Army and killed 62 soldiers.
The Pentagon immediately admitted it had made a mistake. Apologized. And the event went into the memory hole of the Western MSM.
The ceasefire died this past Tuesday when Russia and Syria opened the gates of Hell for the nice rebels and the evil terrorist embedded with them.
Oh, yes. Kerry and the US and its lickspittle media couldn’t have cared less about the dying Syrians as long as the Rebels were winning. The Pentagon had no desire to end the fighting unless Assad was forced out.
It wasn’t until September 30, 2015 when Russia joined the fight, that the Hypocritical States of America and their Hypocritical Media wanted a ceasefire to slow down the Syrian Army.
I still haven’t decided if department of state and pentagon are at odds or working as a team.
Why do pentagon want a continuation of war in Syria? These sort of policies seem more political -DoS or CIA. But then who are the heads of pentagon loyal to? Also Carter, out and out warmonger.
Overall perhaps just PR on Kerry’s part to show the peasants that US is trying to bring peace to Syria. Attack on Deir Ezzor quickly vanished from MSM when the dastardly Russians attacked an aid convoy.
Looking at it in that light I would say Department of state, pentagon, CIA, working as a team, Kerry doing the PR showing the world how US is trying for peace in Syria. Pentagon, CIA ensuring the show pony dies quickly. And those bad Russians to blame.
If DoS and the Pentagon were working as a team, then Kerry would have known the ambush at Deir al Zour was not an accidental mistake. But America’s way of terminating the 5 day old ceasefire. A page of the 5 secret documents of the agreement that was revealed says “Share Intelligence.” Obviously, this is more objectionable to the Pentagon than to the DoS, who wrote and signed the agreement.
The coalition ambush was the Pentagon’s way of rejecting the “shared intelligence” element of the agreement, even at the cost of slowing down the Russian and Syrian momentum. The ‘false flag’ and proof-less attack on the convoy a few days later erased from the media the deaths of 62 Syrian soldiers and blamed the Russian/Syrian forces for ‘bombing’ the convoy.
But as we saw Thursday and Friday, the Russo-Syrian forces were “Damn the media, full steam ahead.”
Why do the Pentagon want a continuation of the war in Syria? Because it is one of many battle in the neocon’s war against Russia, that probably began in Kosovo in the mid 90’s.
Then the simpleton neocons thought they could ring Russia with Patriot missiles and cripple Russia’s response to an America’s preemptive nuclear strike. At the end of the first decade of the 21st century, Russia’s Ministry of Defense demonstrated some of their latest missiles, and the neocons pulled their heads back into their turtle shells. George Bush’s withdrawal from the ABM treaty in 2002 had given the Russians an opportunity to develop missiles which were formerly forbidden.
Why a war with Russia? In a word: “oil”. The armies of Hegemons need oil as much as they need soldiers.
Think about it. Hubbert predicted global ‘peak oil’ in 2000, and it arrived in 2006. Then the ‘shale oil’ boom and the subprime mortgage fiasco intervened. ‘Shale oil’ added to the supply and the subprime mortgage bond collapse reduced the demand.
But what will happen in 10, 20, 30 years? Hubbert won’t be more than 50 years off.
The Pentagon is the largest consumer of of crude oil on the planet and soon America will have used up all the easy, cheap shale oil — only about 10% of shale formations are easy to recover. 90% must be retorted (heated) and that’s expensive.
So in 2050 the Pentagon will either be using expensive, labor-intensive shale oil or other peoples oil. Russia will be swimming in it. It is this future situation that has prompted today’s behavior.

‘No credibility, used by German spies’: WikiLeaks lambasts Focus’ claim it ‘works for Russia’

“WikiLeaks accused the German Focus weekly of “being used by German intelligence” to spread misinformation after it published an article claiming the whistleblowing group works for Russian intelligence.
“The report has no credibility,” WikiLeaks said in a statement, referring to an article published by Focus which claimed the organization is waging “misinformation and press campaigns in Western countries” on the Kremlin’s order to increase its authority in the West.
“If the Focus story exposes anything it is that the magazine is still being used to launch intelligence misinformation campaigns,” WikiLeaks said, adding that it already exposed the outlet’s links to the German intelligence service, the BND, in 2008.”
All this Russia blaming is actually a rather useful tool for people. Those making the accusations invariably have israeli flags tattoo’d on their bum cheeks and their use of this “Russia did it” mantra saves everyone the effort of pulling down their knickers to expose who they are working for. :D
