this is the most argumentative crosstalk I’ve been subject to. Ever!. I think there is more crosstalk like a poorly run twelve step meeting than I’ve ever seen. Just stop shouting at each other and let the other person finish what they are saying, Peter!
The Israel Shamir story is amazing. I remember that war, reading in the newspapers only, but with interest. What a difference between the truth and the Hollywood version peddled by the western press. It is like watching one movie your whole life and then seeing the same events but a completely different movie. Orwell was right — control the present, control the past, and then control the future. However I think holding the truth can make the winning hand. Maybe that war explains why al-Sisi was so welcoming to Russia, and why Russia is so cautious about anything that it does in the Arab world.
The big picture is the US/Israel Neocon Hegemon Plan. They have succesfully left Iraq and Afghanistan (and Libya) in perpetual ruin and are well on their way to destroy Syria. This is all in order to weaken Iran which is next on the list for regime change as is neutering Russia. Then just China is left, which once dealt with will fulfill the Neocon exceptionalism and manifest God mandated destiny.
They are all barking mad.
Hint to Neocons: check up on another deluded ‘manifest destiny’ country that started wars on two fronts and see how that turned out for them.
What the USA needs is some internal conflict to distract from their world agression and adventurism.
This is a hard one to watch because this fake Muslim guy working for the most evil aspects of the West, and who is very professional in his ‘interruptions’ … He shames me..he’s so disgusting.
Go Peter Lavelle. And his other two guests..fantastic speakers…
I don’t even know why Peter has these ‘bad guys’ on, and he lets this one, who, when Eric was speaking so very well about the geopolitical aims of US, this creep kept going ‘but, but, but. but” so we couldn’t hear Eric with all our attention.
Ah well, I guess Peter lets him talk so he’ll ‘shut up’ after…
It’s mysterious, but the usual anatomy of the show seems to be a ‘heart’, a ‘brain’ and another stinky and unmentionable part of anatomy who shouts absurd things.
I like CrossTalk and yes, at Year 5 of the Syria war, Mr. Lavelle was a bit impatient. I can hardly blame him, though.
Saker, thank you for the 2 additional articles. Mercouris offers a good chronological summary of Syria events viewers might’ve forgotten by now; while MacDonald is both entertaining and lets one groan at the disinfo trail… yet again.
Too short and too chaotic. But at least Eric got to mention “the elephant in the room.” What the Professor seems to ignore is that the US-Israel-Gulf State coalition couldn’t care less about the suffering of the Syrians. They want to disintegrate Syria. It’s part of the plan. It part of Oded Yinon’s plan. The whole plan in the Middle East is dintegration, so that the US Empire maintains full specturm dominance and so the Israelis get closer to the aim of Eretz Ysrael–Greater Israel. People just refuse to see the evil even when it is staring them in the face.
I hope the agreement between Russia and Syria for the use of the Tartus base has been done in “clever and appropriate” way. I mean in similarity of the 1903 agreement for the Guantanamo bay in Cuba. That still today, after many changes of regimes, is still in USA hands, even if from 1959 it was denounced by the Cuban side. If not, since Assad is the legitimate & in charge President of Syria, there is still time to write “an appropriate added protocol” to assure, IN ANY CASE, the possession and use of such territory in the forthcoming years. With provision for the building also of an airport.
Think today for the future…
I watched this yesterday and the so called “Prof” from the LSE was so annoying.
When others were speaking he continually interuppted – esp. when they were making vip/valid points. He was probably asked to go on the show to do this……Peter gave him his platform but the Prof showed himself up really and just how ridiculous his arguments were – which he couldn’t back up.
Peter Lavelle should never allow himself to shout down one of his guests. The correct way to proceed is to let the guest finish his statement, and then (if appropriate) make the case against. Informality is a nice aspect of Crosstalk, but it should not descend into chaos. Especially, the chairman should not bully his guests.
R; From a purely legal pov, your statement can be construed as bullying on its own, one that merits a suave polishing of said act to facilitate a better comprehension of discussions in general, no?.
It seems to be quite a normal phenomenon when people disagree though – link to youtube.
As regards the current MSM focus on the Russian “involvement” or not in Syria, I cant help wishing it was in fact true. What I find particularly interesting is that the kremlin doesn’t actually outright deny any involvement, rather preferring to say according to this quote in Reuters :
“Moscow confirmed it had “experts” on the ground in Syria, its long-time ally in the Middle East.
But Russia has declined to comment on the scale and scope of its military presence. Damascus denied Russians were involved in combat, but a Syrian official said the presence of experts had increased in the past year”.
Judging by how antsy the US state department is getting over the “Russian involvement” whether true or not, it should now be plain to anyone with an ounce of sense and critical thinking that the scum are not actually against ISIS in Syria, and that their primary objective is and has always been the removal of president Assad from power and the destruction of Syria as a cohesive state, same as they have done to Iraq, to Libya and to Afghanistan before it.
America and the wests so called “war on terror” is the biggest con ever perpetrated on an unsuspecting and gullible public. They are the enablers and backers of ISIS who act as their foot soldiers in Syria and Iraq and the last thing they want is for someone to actually be bombing their “boys” for real.
The Kremlin declined to comment on Thursday on whether Russian troops were fighting in Syria, after sources in Lebanon told Reuters that Russian forces had begun participating in military operations there.
Bashar al-Assad’s opponents in the West and among Gulf Arab states fear a considerable Russian military buildup is taking place in Syria to support the Syrian president. Moscow says all its military assistance to the Syrian army is in line with international law.
“The threat coming from Islamic State is evident… The only force capable of resisting it is the Syrian armed forces,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, reiterating Russia’s position that its long-time ally Assad should be part of international efforts to combat the ultra-hardline Islamists.
Peskov said Putin would talk about Syria and Islamic State during his speech to the U.N. General Assembly in New York later this month.
No meeting between Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama in New York has yet been scheduled, he said.
On Wednesday, Russia said it had “military experts” on the ground. Two U.S. officials told Reuters that Moscow had delivered a small number of forces to Syria in recent days. Defense analysts in Moscow say Russian intelligence must also be present on the ground.
Russia’s respected Kommersant daily on Thursday said Moscow’s advanced BTR-82A armored personnel carriers were among arms supplied to Damascus.

Peter Lavelle, best person in the world, never lets the hypnotic drone of lies to prevail on his show…
Thank God.
Peter Lavelle has a great show. I see information (points of view) on “Cross Talk” that will never show up on the US MSM. Good Job Peter.

that other speaker who wants Assad out over and over must have failed to mention he must be a Wahabi…
@ alan,
Q; failed to mention he must be a Wahabi…

Agreements are written with sword & blood not pen ink. If isis take over no paper agreement matters usa has bay because it is strong.

Pepe makes a very simple but crucial point. How come only Pepe can see the obvious?
yes, great article again by Escobar
