It is too early to post a formal SITREP simply because the situation is way too confused, but I want to give you all a small heads-up on what is happening right now. Take a look at that map:
Combat situation as of July 13th |
The city on the top right is Luganks, center Left Donetsk and to the south you have the border with (Russia indicated by РОССИЯ). In blue the Ukie forces and in red the Novorussian ones.
First, there are reports that the Novorussians have taken both the Donetsk and Lugansk airports. However, the Ukie sides claims that it had liberated the Luganks airport were Ukie forces had been surrounded for many weeks by the Resistance. Obviously, these are mutually exclusive claims. Finally, the Resistance also said that it had used a captured Su-25 close air support aircraft to attack Ukie positions and that this Su-25 had taken off from the Lugansk airport (FYI – the Su-25 does not need a runway to take off, it could even do that from a grass field).
Second, the Ukie have attempted an envelopment maneuvere in which they hope to surround Donetsk and then cut the city off from Lugansk. This maneuver apparently failed and with a Resistance counter-attack from around Saur-Mogila (САУР-МОГИЛА on the map) the Resistance is attempting to surround and “squeeze” the Ukie force along the Russian border. The Ukies, who clearly now see the danger are making a desperate effort at breaking through the Amvrosievka (АМВРОСИЕВКА on the map) to prevent that and to free the Ukie forces.
So what is at stake?
There are reportedly 3000 Ukie soliders currently surrounded in the “southern cauldron” as the region along the Russian border has been called. Here is what two of them who managed to escape are saying about their situation:
The situation is such that the battalion is in a difficult situation, both in terms of resources and its territorial position. What they show in the news – that we are encircling the separatists – is, where out battalion is [stationed], exactly the opposite. The guys are at the end of their rope. It’s trouble there. It’s a disaster. On one side, there are the forces of the Russian Federation standing there, practically 4 kilometres from us. And there is such military equipment there, believe me, that nothing would help us. It’s no longer about flack jackets and military equipment. Do you understand? It’s a completely different [situation]. We just have to get our guys out of there. Unequivocally, the battalion can’t remain there. Well, the guys stationed there, they are like condemned men facing execution. I say this responsibly – I was stationed there and I came from there. And even then, we have to take them out, carefully. We have to take them out, carefully. And, honestly, I don’t know how this [rescue] is to be done but it must be done. It must be done and it must be done immediately. Let me repeat, the situation as of today’s morning, I called there and I called yet again: not a single unit of military equipment has arrived, they [the soldiers] are standing in an open field. Because the battalion we talk about, as a matter of fact, they can perform combat mission only as formulated in the beginning – i.e. guard duty of [important strategic] objects in the region, let’s say, guarding certain checkpoints, but only further away from the epicenter of hostilities. However in the midst of combat action it can’t fulfill any mission because of the lack of needed equipment. Even if such equipment were to be provided to the battalion, there is nobody trained to use [it].
Now let’s look at Lugansk, specifically at the airport.
Ukrainian special forces have been surrounded by the Resistance there for weeks. A lot of them, not less than 300, had already left the airport and surrendered. I saw interviews of Resistance fighters made yesterday evening and they seem absolutely sure that they would take control of the airport very soon. This morning both the Resistance and Poroshenko announced that they had taken control of the airport. Here is what Poroshenko wrote in this FaceBook page:
Translation: President Petro Poroshenko has just been informed by the headquarters of the ATO (anti-terrorist operation) that Ukrainian forces sucessfully thought their way to the Lugansk airport. Glory to the Ukraine!
Well, I am not sure as to what to make of that. Both sides are claiming victory here and the reason for that is quite simple: the forces which had been (or still are) surrounded at the Lugansk airport were some of the very best the Ukies had: elements of the 80th Airborne Regiment, 25th Airborne Division and the 8th Special Forces Regiment. Furthermore, the airport is the crucial node for any encirclement of Lugansk.
There is little doubt that the Ukies are throwing in their best resources to avoid a disaster and that at least three Ukie armored columns were sent in to relieve the pressure on the surrounded Ukie forces. At least one of these columns (possibly two) were detected and destroyed. Here is some footage of the aftermath:
In this case, this column was apparently destroyed near the town of Marinovka (not shown on the map above).
The video above shows what is apparently another Ukie column destroyed near Lugansk.
The Ukies also lost an An-26 transport aircraft, also near Lugansk, which was apparently shot down by a missile. The Resistance claims that it did it, but the Ukies say that the missile was fired from Russia.
While all this seems to be excellent news for the Novorussian Resistance, Strelkov is, as usual, much more cautious:
As for the latest news out of the Russian media, this is what their correspondents are reporting:
- Attack on Lugansk failed
- 2 Ukie Aircraft (An-26 & Su-25) shot down (+2 yesterday)
- 100 dead Ukies in 2 different column which were destroyed
- 1 Kindergarten destroyed by Ukie (kids had been evacuated)
- Several civilian buildings (including one hospital) hit in Lugansk
- 1 Ukie column (with 50 tanks) fully destroyed
- 1 Ukie colum (with 50 tanks) repelled with heavy losses for the Ukies
Interestingly, Russian experts are speculating that the combined attacks on Lugansk and Donetsk were distracting attacks aimed at drawing Resistance forces away form the south were up to 5’000 Ukie solidiers had attempted to cut off Novorussia from Russia and surround both Donetsk and Lugansk. According to the same sources sources, this feint failed to deceive the Resistance forces. The Ukies then failed to take the hill Saur-Mogila and ended up being surronded in the so-called “southern cauldron”: a long corridor between 4km and 8km in width. It appears that the Resistance forces did manage to cut off the Ukie corridor in several locations where the mined the fields before withdrawing. The Resistance is now engaging these forces with artillery from a longer range.
We should note that, at least so far, Kiev has categorically denied all of the above.
Still, that version would explain the number of Ukie strikes on Russian border posts all along the border. Add to this that Lavrov issued a stern warning about consequences which would be entirely the Ukie’s fault, and you get the image: it is possible that Russia will simply strike the Ukie forces in the “souther cauldron” from within Russia. Of course, and as always, they will do no such thing if the Resistance forces succeed in doing this without overt Russian help.
Stay tuned, as soon as the situation becomes clearer, I will post another SITREP.
The Saker
UPDATE: thanks to ‘SD’ who send me a link to an article which claims that Russia is now considering “surgical strikes” on select key Ukie targets.
Russia will suppress air cover from that close. The Ukies will have to surrender or be wiped out.
The morale of the Ukies must be down to zero.
They are going to lose to the Resistance.
They have Putin right where they want him, unable to order their destruction because he is too busy laughing at Obama, Nuland, Biden and NATO.
He’s going to get Ukraine, just like Crimea—without firing one shot (that anyone saw).
Never fight a counter-insurgency war on the border of your enemy.
The private jets in Kiev are warming their engines for the “Saigon Liftoff”.
Somebody get a camera ready at the American embassy as the gates get knocked down by Strelkov’s tanks.
Maybe it’s premature, but it lifts the spirits to think of the good ending.
And if it ends this way, the people in the former Ukraine will have gas to heat their homes. That’s their only upside. Putin will give them enough gas to keep their children warm.
Once again I have to thank you SAKER, I was really confused about the importance and number of men the militia had at the airport, but if these are the UKri best men then the moral boast to militia troops and the deflation and psychological impact of its lose on the NAZIS is worth it, as I thought why waste or endanger so many when a blocking group and QRF with MANPADS could keep the airport closed and heads down, but if they have taken it even for just a while the knock on effect and (army rummer) would do the rest.
What is you’re thoughts on Babya the cossak guy not following Strelovs orders of retreat and running to Krim?
Thanks for all your effort Sir!
these videos are confusing to me.
Did they capture the rest of the vehicles or is the column just a few truck and apcs? (or the rest just run away? :D )
I was kinda surprised to see “just” a lot of the same burned truck from different angles in the first video.
Could someone clear that a bit for me? I was kinda expecting a lot of destroyed vehicles in a row in like .. a column you know.
Don’t get me wrong please, i just honestly dont get it.
Denis
There seems to be a dearth of photos of shot-down Su’s, unlike helicopters, An’s and the Il-76. People are saying the high-speed planes are much harder to photograph and often fall very far from where the have been hit, but it is still not certain how many actually have been destroyed.
Strelkov said a couple of days ago that Amvrosievka had been taken by the Ukies some time before that. There is another source that seems to indicate the same thing. Is there actual evidence that DPR forces still control Amvrosievka?

I would recommend slowly starving them out. Continue to tighten the pocket & for God’s sake take lots of photos, videos of the surrendering Ukies & post it on the web ASAP.
I am helpless, crying and praying for Novorossia.

My dear friend
if you find such photos in The New York Times – are you going to ask them the question.
Look at what we have and that is it.

it’s defenitly the same event on both videos, but i hope they (novorossia) kicked some ass today.
Keep up the good work.

Right on.

Similar videos are on Russian media. They are however simply saying that the militia destroyed a resupply truck and its APC escort.
Both videos are of the same event and it is an exaggeration to call it a column.
Mainly of course it knocks confidence in other claims if you fall prey to the temptation to exaggerate.
Interested to learn what brought down the An-26 today. I do not believe it was Russia (unless it violated Russian airspace, but then Russia would not be shy of saying so) I wonder if it was hit by a BUK missile, from one of the systems that the Self defence forces captured a couple of weeks ago?
Will the Americans enjoy dealing with a new country named New Russia, heavily armed and replacing much of the territory of the former Ukraine, and backed to the hilt by Russia?
New Russia, embodying the best of the USSR and Russia, and showing the way to the future . . .
New Russia, financed by the BRICS development bank and recognized internationally.
Methinks many tales of battle results, by both sides, are boastful exaggerations.
Two things do seem new. The scale of the battles — 5x to 10x the size of anything previously. DNR forces are now taking on convoys of many dozens of armored vehicles at once. They didn’t seem to have the means (or necessity) to do this before.
The other is the reckless way Ukraine is using their air force (3-4 planes hit over the weekend). For an air force their size, this rate of losses would clean them out before the end of the year. So I think it indicates that they consider this a final or semi-final “big push”, otherwise they would use their airplanes more carefully.

A Putin spokesman walked back the whole “surgical strikes” thing. Dissention in the ranks, or purposeful disinfo?
I can’t help but feel for the guys who are trapped.
Strelkov said :
“they have no honour, no conscience, no common sense”.
He has really hit the nail on the head in that short sentence and this is indeed what is so horrifying about these people. It is indeed a highly dangerous mix and one that is apt to plunge the world into another world war. The worst thing about it all is that such people are not only confines to the Ukraine. They are called Nazis in Ukraine, but go by the name of ISIS in the middle east, or al-Qaeda, they were called contras in South America and are called Boko Haram in Nigeria. It doesn’t matter what you call them or what name they go by they all have the same mentality and ultimately the same ideology and serve the same masters. What makes such people particularly dangerous is their lack of plain old common sense and this applies equally to the neo cons in Washington. I don’t care if these people have the best education their wealthy families could have paid for but they are stupid in a very specific way. They have become blinded by hubris and become convinced of their “exceptionalism” and “manifest destiny”, all the better to rape and pillage the rest of “lesser” humanity. This is the face of the new reich humanity is now facing.

Very likely they are desperate. If the southern pocket is completely encircled and they are loosing the Lugansk airport they have definitely both lost the initiative and any chance to encircle Novorossia. Once the pocket is dealt with and Lugansk is secured the militia can regroup and start pushing back.
I like SouthFront’s slogan, “Russian Summer”…sure looks like it right now.
Success aside, I really get worked up over all the slaughtered civilians. I wish Novorossiya the best of luck in bringing those responsible to justice.
Hope someone will find Yatsenuk and give him what he deserves.
I’m no military type, Lord knows. But every time I look at that sausage Right. On. The. Russian. Border. (!), I get astounded all over again at the gobsmacking stupidity of that move. Tactics, logistics, you name it — I swear I can’t think of any critter alive that would willingly enter a trap like that.
Several serious questions come to mind, including: a) who issued those orders; b) how on earth did they get into a command position; and c) how is it that none of the mercenaries or professional soldiers managed to neither stop them or frag them? It’s pretty obvious that neither the American nor Ukrainian leadership in Kiev sees the actual people on either side of this war as anything more than disposable clutter. All they see is power and profit. But I’m also wondering if all those earlier purges simply removed everyone with any knowledge, skill, experience or basic smarts.
Surgical strikes? OMG. And citing the US and Israel as examples?
We. Cannot. Stop. Laughing.!!! (can you hear us from here?)
So not only has Putin impressed pretty much the entire planet with his alternative approach based on cooperation and adherence to International Law, but he has also, right from the start, outplayed us at our game: skillful intelligence skillfully used (think Krim, but also don’t you just wonder about all those perfectly-timed leaks…); plausible deniability through the use of NGOs, private funding, etc.; and now, after protesting appropriately and making the way up through all the right channels: surgical strikes.
(sorry, I’m still laughing…)
Don’t you seriously wonder if there’s anyone in our Deep State even beginning to realize the jig is up? I don’t think there’s a one of them doing anything other than getting even angrier and doubling down on the stupidity, violence and lies.
I am never going to be able to hear that Godawful euphemism again without at least suppressing a chuckle. Not sure there’s ever truly been a “surgical” strike, but using that phrase under these circumstances certainly was, just in and of itself!
(still chuckling… )
But I’m also remembering the White Books and ongoing efforts to document each and every abuse… Maybe there truly is justice in this life. It couldn’t bring back the bodies or souls of all the innocents we’ve slaughtered or fix all the lives we’ve ruined, but if it could just somehow keep us from doing any more damage, I could go to my grave a whole lot more contented.
“they have no honour, no conscience, no common sense”.
It is the same common denominator in all cases from ISIS/AQ/CONTRAS/Kiev NAZIS all paid/trained by the same MADMEN in Washington, after 9/11 and Afghan/Iraq/Libya you would think these PNAC/NEOCON vultures would learn, but they follow their ZIONAZI dual citizen masters and that does not involve thought just obey!

It probably looked like a great idea early on when the militia only had smallarms and werent well organized.
Now it has turned into a nightmare. Strategicaly it must be either hubris or insanity or both that has kept them from evacuation that stretch to the south. Now that the militia has MLRS batteries they can turn it into a killingfield. If the PUke army is as badly supplied with ammo and food as the interview with the escaped soldiers shows, then its pretty much game over. For the soldiers the only sane thing to do is to surrender. And if that happens it will be a HUGE loss both militarily but also moraly for the PUkes in Kiev.
Stay strong.

I think the two videos of destroyed Ukie tank column are one and the same. Anyway, it’s a well executed ambush.
hmm, as said before, 1 truck and apc is no armored column. report of 50 destroyed MBTs can`t be true. no photo, no video… anyway, i wish them luck and victory.
Nora,
There are no smart people on the Ukrainian side. Smart people do not do those things.

I hope Larchmonter445, et al are right in their euphoria. But remember that the Empire never sleeps, never gives up, and has very deep pockets since it can print money. I remember the unspoken, silent euphoria many of us shared in 1975 as the helicopters left Saigon, operation Eagle Claw, which I observed in real time in the USG. But in less than 15 years the Berlin Wall was down, in two more Gorbachev lowered the flag. The opera ain’t over until the fat lady sings.

re: military situation…”Lost their Bearings” could also be “becoming desperate” and that is most dangerous. Expect a nasty like a cornered rat tactic or a totally stupid move. Re phraseology: remember “pre emptive strike” and “preventive war”–all are used by the US State department as their parroting points. Looks like the Russians are keeping their cool–It must be hard because I can’t image the US population putting up with similar nonsense on either border. Poroshenko couldn’t even go to the WC because he had to stay home to try to keep things together. Isn’t there a building in Kiev whose 6th floor has the CIA–maybe that could be one of those “OOOps” followed by, “We are so, so sorry–our maps were out of date.”

“Passed today Lugansk twice a party Krasnodon and back. Both times it was quiet, special destructions have not noticed, though traces of the hit mines and shells in the roadway was available in several places.
Confirmed down today Lugansk the area of the three aircrafts of the armed forces. Two “drying” and An-26. Three pilot captured. The enemy today in the Lugansk region is not moved.
We are fighting continued in the area Snow. Successfully acted in the only tank in the area of Dmitrovka – direct-fire managed to kill 2 BTR-4 more units of equipment of the enemy, to escape the fire, ran on its own minefields along the border with Russia, where it exploded and burned.
Also from the area Dmitrovka suffered an artillery strike on the positions of nazvanii in neptazane. (after it was confirmed that all the population left). Released 36 shells 122-mm. After the second volley started in the village of detonation of ammunition. According to the available data, nachazi suffered considerable losses in manpower and equipment.
In response, the enemy in the region of 20 hours dealt a massive blow division “Grad” (11 units) on Dmitrovka from the area of S.Grigorovka (where did they come from Amvrosievka). No one militiaman was injured, but in the village – numerous fires and destruction (multiply 11 40 – get the number of issued through the village volleys of rockets).
We promise that this artale gift to ukram not pass. The gunners hers, when they shall be in the neck to the West to drive, into captivity to get not recommend. Painfully local militias their “love”.

Time to rename Donetsk to Strelkovgrad and repeat history one more time.
Mikhail II
I would qualify my euphoria this way. I think Putin has the Hegemon in a grinder of their making.
His goal was to destabilize Ukraine, leave it weak but whole. He wanted a malleable government that would be in his sphere of influence but not on his budget in any way.
This is what he’s going to get, I think.
The Hegemon will shift gears if bombing doesn’t work to save the regime. It won’t. It works to unseat regimes, but doesn’t work to hold power.
The panic and dispersal of the Ukie Army will be impetus for the Russian FSB to guide whole units of Ukies to stay as units for their own self-protection against revenge when they go home. This means more energy behind federalization. Each region will want no strong central government. Maidan is dead in the womb.
This works in Putin’s favor.
Also, the “saved” Ukie units can work with the Milita to wipe out the nazi gangs and psycho units paid for by the Jew oligarch.
I see Ukraine as less than a real nation when this is over. It will be a protectorate. Russia + China will bankroll some development. Europe will bankroll some other things. Novorossiya will prosper over time and the “good” Ukies who see the light will get some work, some education and some future. The rest will be criminalized and driven into enclaves of containment. Ironically, they will be filtered into ‘camps’.
Overall, Ukraine, in my analysis (amateur as it is) could never stand as an enemy or enemy base versus Russia. It was an untenable concept of neo-cons and bankrolled by people who can cause chaos but not change certain facts.
The fact that Russia recognizes NATO as an existential threat and NATO recognizes that it faces nuclear devastation by Russia if it moves closer led me to conclude that Ukraine cannot go to the West without Russia destroying Kiev’s capacity as a government.
Donbass played into Kiev’s hands and Kiev played into Putin’s hands. Putin will win because Russia must win. The Hegemon loses.
The really interesting part is tactical nukes is the deterrent in this case. Russia has two levels of nukes and will thank God that it has tactical nukes because their use leaves it free of counterattack by theatre size nukes. NATO can never base closer than Poland. That’s it.
Ukraine was a Hegemonic wet dream. It is unsustainable. It will soon have no currency, no industry, no exports, no gas, no Army and no junta leadership. The only solution is federalization, local control and no oligarchs. Banderastan will crumble. 42 million people on a soup line is all that will remain.
Yes, 2 cars can form a ‘column’ the same way as 2 people can form the beginning of a mass demonstration.
I had this image in mind after reading the headline.
When 1 1/2 rockets are fired from Lebanon, one might argue that ‘Gaza war has spread to Hezbollah,’ but according to sources on the ground, that’s sensationalism, not true journalism.

The NSDC sure sounds like they’re following our propaganda suggestions. Wasn’t Russia allowed something like 22,000 troops in Crimea under that old lease with Ukraine? These guys are probably wetting their pants, and praying Russia will do something, anything, so that OUR troops will rescue them.
Ha Ha Ha
I do feel for the conscripts though, and have Not. A. Clue. what Strelkov said in that last paragraph of your comment at 21:42. Usually I can kind of get the gist but not this time! Do you have any idea of what he’s saying there?
ZPC mouthpiece reuters claiming missile from Russia downed banderivtsy An-26. Headline (didn’t bother reading beyond the intro):
Ukraine says military transport plane downed ‘probably’ by rocket from Russia
The ZPC media is already claiming banderivtsy shelling of Russian territory was done by Novorussian forces. So it’s very clear what the ZPC/NWO fascist plan is. Use any and all methods to get Russia to legitimately respond to ZPC/NWO war crimes, then lie like crazy and claim Russia is the aggressor. Failing the provocations, “invent reality”.

Farnborough visa scandal is politically motivated – Russian Foreign Ministry
http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_07_14/Farnborough-visa-scandal-is-politically-motivated-Russian-Foreign-Ministry-2164/
Britain’s failure to issue entry visas to representatives of a Russian delegation to the Farnborough Airshow is politically motivated, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov said on Monday, the RIA Novosti news agency reports. Moscow sees the move as “purely political and unfounded,” he said.
Earlier, Britain’s Foreign Office said that Farnborough was a commercial event and that no Russian delegates had been invited to it “due to Russian actions in Ukraine”.
To understand the root of this sort of childishness among the Brit “manager class” that the ZPC/NWO selects to run their British colony, one needs to look at the sort of people being selected:
‘Too many of them’: Warnings on pedophiles operating in Westminster were ‘ignored’
http://rt.com/uk/172348-pedophiles-westminster-warnings-ignored/
“A former official from the UK’s social services has said that an alleged pedophile network in Westminster and Whitehall was ignored because “there are too many of them over there.”
But when he approached representatives from the Department of Health, he was told that he was “probably wasting his time” as there were “too many of them over there” in Westminster and Whitehall.”
Almost all of these people go through the English single gender public school system, which educates them well for the role they will later play…

I don’t know how correct this article is, but my head just about exploded reading it:
Ukraine Turf Wars, Kolomoisky vs. Poroshenko
Actually Kolomoisky does not care much about Ukraine, but he does really care about his Jewish compatriots living in Israel. Ukrainian national news – UNN information agency published the revelations of the well-known expert, the veteran of Israeli Shin Bet (“Shabak”), the organization responsible for internal security, Alex Groissman who believes that the recent events in the Middle East make more Israelis consider the possibility of moving to Ukraine. They pin their hopes on Kolomoisky to save them from Islamic militants. They believe their job is done; they pushed the Soviet Union and then China from the Middle East and controlled the restive Arab neighbors. Now as Washington uses the controlled chaos to clean the way for the emergence of new quasi-states under its control capturing new oil and gas deposits on the way, Israel with its special vision of the Middle East becomes expendable there.
Alex Groissman believes that Ukraine is a historic land of many Israelis and could become another Promised Land where Jews could rely on the support of local diasporas, first of all in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Igor Kolomoisky is the governor and the head of the European Council of Jewish Communities. With him heading the local power structures the Jews would feel safe and well-protected from the attacks of nationalist-minded Ukrainians.
Just speechless.
I am worried by the idea of a ‘surgical strike’, even though that is conceivable against a purely military group in open territory, rather than ill-defined targets within an urban setting. This is exactly what Ukraine and the US wants. No matter how justified the action is, it will be used against Russia. For what gains? To be seen to be doing something domestically? Once it has been done, the Ukies will repeat provocations perhaps using chemical weapons until Russia succumbs to what will be represented as a unilateral invasion.
The Ukies are getting desperate. The gas supply is running down. Hot water has been reduced in Kiev (and elsewhere?). Price increases are starting to bite. It will get worse when gas heating costs are included in autumn. Russia has managed to avoid the trap set by US/Ukraine so far. Why fall into it now the Ukies are on the back rope? For domestic politics in Russia? The need to be seen to be doing something? Putin is doing something to counter the real proxy war underway. The US is the main driving agent, Ukraine is its current lever. Putin has linked in China, has strengthened BRICS, linked in Cuba, is working with major EU business interests, is in the process of cooperatively setting up alternative financial instruments to counter the US monopoly. All of this is red line stuff for the US. Hussein, Gadaffi, Iran all tried this on a smaller scale and look what happened to them. Even the Euro, once seen as a financial competitor has been taken down by a financial ‘controlled demolition job’ (the entry of Greece etc was the means). The US is itching to impose real sanctions and in my view, any surgical strike will be used as justification. If these sanctions harm or destroy the EU, then that is tough as far as the US is concerned. It is a case of another potential financial competitor destroyed once and for all.
On the other hand, if a small group of Ukies could be driven over the border, Russia would have its causus belli. An actual invasion by Ukraine military. If this happens I don’t think Russia should take military action immediately. Rather it should complete the legal diplomatic process, registering an act of aggression committed by Ukraine with actual evidence to hand. How and when it then responds is up to it.
Footnote: It seems the ‘surgical strike’ was made ‘unoffically’. Maybe deliberately so? Phew, breathe and … relax. Still it would be useful to capture some armed UKies on the wrong side of the border.
@ Larchmonter445 (2014 18:21) — a most desirable scenario indeed. May it come to pass. Sending that worm-tongue rat Biden out on his knees b4 the next US primaries will be a good humiliation of the now 100% discredited Obama administration.
В Харькове состоялся митинг “Харьков – русский город” (In Kharkiv the meeting took place “Kharkiv is a Russian city”)

“In Kharkiv a rally was held in support of the inhabitants of Donbass and against fratricidal war. A large number of people gathered on the main square of the city and spoke with slogans “Kharkiv is a Russian city!”.
It became the custom that nearby there was a rally of Pro-Ukrainian radicals. Provocation on their part not cease. Give small leaflets with insults Russian and blatant appeal to the incitement of international discord.”

yay, another machine translation. painful. it translates proper names when it shouldn’t. for example, “drying” is suhoi, i.e., an su-25. names of towns translated into random words.
Oleg Tsarev: Ukrainian losses are between 4000 and 5000 (!).
Ukie forces at the Lugansk-Donetsk border haven’t been supplied for a week.
Defense troops have encircled the Lugansk airport, but are still working on Donetsk airport.
Canada has sent 200 soldiers and 17 jet fighters to Latvia where they are going to stay for what??
Attack Russia, just in case?
Way too early for euphoria. The “destroyed column” looks to have amounted to only 2-3 vehicles.
There is no question, however, of a genuinely devastating attack on the unit from Lvow. Further,it looked to me, stdying whatever imagery I could find, that the small Lugansk AP, on farmland south of town, would be an unhealthy place for a large garrison, especially if western and eastern troops were/are as mutually hostile as reported earlier. Kiev must have considered the situation desperate to mount such a heavy attack. If their column didn’t break through–I wouldn’t bet either way–the place is very probably gone.
Deploying forces in a long narrow “snake” along the Russian border is crazy. The extirpation of a large Spanish army by the (Morrocan) Riffs under Abd el Krim came about because the Spaniards under Primo del Rivera, deployed their forces in towns and forts all along the major communication line. The Riffs cut the road, (which contained many defensible positions) into segments and wiped out the beseiged units in detail. In the Winter War, the Finns–having stalled the Soviet columns– cut them into segments, called ‘motti’ (blocks of wood) and gradually reduced them. This basic tactic shows up again and again in the history of war.The best thing for the Uke boys might be to go to the Russian border and ask for asylum.
My sense is that if the Russians intervene, even sporadically with attacks along the border, Ukes units will panic and infect others. No telling, if it begins, where it will end.
There is no worse menace for an uncumbent regime than thge return of a defeated army. On that thought I thank you for your wonderful commentary and wish all well. Tom
Meanwhile, in newly “liberated” Kramatorsk, a surly group of locals greats UA units with shouts of FASHISTI! and DONBASS! Take a look: Краматорск. Войска в городе (острожно, много мата).
Another country has been wrecked. Those ghouls in Washington must be so proud. Now… back to Iraq!
@ Larchmonter445,
It’s only fun to be a ‘springboard’ if the ‘obese’ people stay home.
your writters need to coordinate their use of vocabulary. you have such words as the uki-nazis liberating a village. and you have the russian-federals taking a town.
and you do not clearly identify the russians as federationists. i would be glad to help with vocabulary. i am vladzo on the pravda.ru chatline.
вот так,
You will be interested to know that William Hague, Britains Foreign Minister just resigned his portfolio, presumably because of his involvement in their ongoing high level pedophilia scandal. They’re dropping like flies over there, Left, Right and Center, though most of the “action” appears to have taken place during the administration and with the express knowledge and permission of Margaret Thatcher.
Well, not surprisingly, filtration camps and crucified children can ruin the best meal. I was still fixated on the utter stupidity of getting trapped inside that sausage when Mr. Nora observed that Kolomoiskiy’s private army a) were hardly traditional military and b) followed his orders, while the filtration camp plan provided no training for the prisoner-conscripts so they literally would be no more than (once-) warm bodies. And it hit us both at the same time that we had been quite wrong in assuming that Kiev wouldn’t dare sneeze without our permission and that Koval was just a bigger stooge than usual for agreeing to put his name on a document officially elevating him to War Criminal status. Not that the US isn’t behind these horrors — just that we are, by design, *sufficiently* far behind them as to maintain plausible deniability. So no, the details of all these horrors are more than likely something our folks deliberately DON’T know and more than likely did not even (overtly) suggest. Given our decades-long brainwashing of Banderistan, Henry II’s “Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest” would hardly even even be necessary! And Gayle’s reference to Kolomoiskiy’s attitude towards Ukraine as a new/old Jewish homeland fits right in with those reputed new property laws: a second land with no people for a people with no land? I hope this is not true, I really, honestly, deeply and desperately hope it is not true!
@ Gayle 22:40
I read that also, very interesting piece – I think it makes a lot of sense. Kolomoisky seems just like a big mafia chieftain, completely ruthless. It’s opbvious he wants to take everyone else’s turf. The Israel connection is fascinating.
Here’s the link again: Ukraine Turf Wars, Kolomoisky vs. Poroshenko
I actually want Russia to stay out of this conflict because the Donbass army could have just enough independence and momentum that it could conceivably take down these oligarchs – and I’m not sure that Russia would go that far.
So I’m rooting for Novorossiya not just for its own survival but also for the slim chance that it could go further, maybe become something like Cuba, and aid the global revolution – which is the class war of the poor and ordinary people against the rich criminal class at the top.
For clarity of communication, The Saker and this community should perhaps decide on shared agreed terms for the various parties in this conflict.

“I do feel for the conscripts though, and have Not. A. Clue. what Strelkov said in that last paragraph of your comment at 21:42. Usually I can kind of get the gist but not this time! Do you have any idea of what he’s saying there?”
The last is related to the para before, where he described a large banderivtsy grad attack on a town. He is hinting those who did that will probably not like the sort of treatment they will likely receive if they are captured.

Well, why don’t you make yourself useful and translate the pieces for everybody, instead of whinging like an adolescent English public skool-boi? Or failing that, return to the guardian’s cif mono-tribal playground where that sort of bitchy queen personal attacks are welcomed.

I read the Hague-bag was quitting, but I didn’t know why. No surprise, though. Pedophilia seems to be a requirement for managers of the UK regime. Maybe the ZPC/NWO insists on these freaks because they are easy to blackmail? Or maybe, it just goes with the fascism which ZPC/NWO are?
Nora, Gayle, Grieved
Kolomoisky seems to be at odds with many in the Ukraine. All of them are gangsters, maybe its gangsterly love? ;)
It might also be a sign that the junta is breaking up under the stress of their impending doom.

Don’t overlook this most valuable resource:
Colonel Cassad (in English)
According to the Colonel, “Ukrainian military remain In the Luhansk international airport, they are blockaded.”
Great to see the Russian flag on the tanks.

regarding machine translation-
relax, friend. I was not criticizing you at all, just expressing my frustration at the level of the machine translation tool that I would also like to use for the same reason as you probably.
Hope you have a good evening, or morning, or whatever time it is where you are.
Ask and ye shall receive
I had been skeptical about the border trap story but this post is the confirmation I was looking for
This has all the makings of a huge disaster for Porky
Is he a Metaphorical deadman walking? Encouraging news
Looks like Porky wrote a check with his mouth his ass can’t cash
I like your blog very much. And hope the analysis’s are correct. But I’m worried that sometimes our side gets over confident.Ever since the evacuation and fall of Slavinsk I’ve been concerned even more.I don’t see Russia intervening at all.I’ve thought from the beginning that it was a mistake not to have intervened at the time of the coup. That Russia should have taken down the Junta, installed a Unity Government and withdrawn. While the Ukrainian Army was split and might have defected to the Russian side.We could have gotten Yanukovich to invite intervention as the legal President (though his return would have been a wrong move.Still we could have used him as cover at first). Now I think after months of constant Russophobic propaganda in Ukraine its too late for that. But with all the speculation of “will Russia intervene or not”.We’ve had many people on our side not get down to mobilizing a mass fighting force needed to win this war. Many thought,I believe, why join if Russian troops will do the job instead. Now it may be too late to gather enough troops to fight and win.We might still have a chance if we can finish capturing the Luhansk Airport completely (including the surrender or destruction of the Ukie force there) .And either destroy,or force the surrender of the sausage pocket on the border(or pushing them over the border,to be interned in Russia). The psychological affect of those two victories would be immense for our side.A disaster for the enemy. And could lead to more recruits and an offensive of our own.Failing in these two battles I’m afraid, will make victory without Russian help impossible. In a war of attrition the enemy can squeeze us smaller and smaller until only the large cities are left. Then force our surrender or starve us out. While its true the Ukraine’s economy may collapse and unrest break out.It could be a long time. And through terror the regime might still hold power.Or a full Svoboda/RS regime replace them. And that wouldn’t be good for Russia, nor the people of Novorossiya. As you’ve pointed out before.Only the Liberation of Ukraine is a real victory for Russia. Its extremely dangerous to leave a Russophobic regime in power there.
Ann
I hope that when Novorossia conquers Ukie they keep going and take control of entire Ukraine…
All this optimism is making me nervous. I’m too superstitious to high five….yet
The other is the reckless way Ukraine is using their air force (3-4 planes hit over the weekend). For an air force their size, this rate of losses would clean them out before the end of the year. So I think it indicates that they consider this a final or semi-final “big push”, otherwise they would use their airplanes more carefully.

Also of consequence is lack of trained pilots
Maybe Secy of War Kerry will loan out some armed drones

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Cheers.
Very happy to find out that Novorossiyan defence can find fighter pilot´s on such short notice, hopefully there will be more planes or even defections to the “light side” by Puikie pilots if there are any operable planes left, that is… ;)
Mikhas.
I just had a crazy thought which might also partly explain poro puta being seemingly desperate to bait Russian troops into becoming actively involved in Ukraine.
I remember right at the very start of this whole Nazi farce now being played out in Ukraine “yats” , yarosh and co. saying they were going to start building nuclear weapons again. Now what if courtesy of the psychopaths in washington these freakoids now “running” things in kiev have actually managed to acquire a number of medium sized nuclear armaments, to be used against Russia in “self defence” should the Russian army ever cross the border into Ukraine. I wouldnt put such a thing past the criminal lunatics pulling poro putas strings, and maybe that scenario may also have occured to the Russians.

http://rus.postimees.ee/2856721/v-kremle-nazvali-nonsensom-ideju-nanesenija-tochechnyh-udarov-po-ukraine – Russia would not use “surgical strikes”. Guess some more “indirect actions” would be employed
