Wonderful conversation, I could listen to these Guy`s all day, brought up some interesting points especially in regard to Poland and Ukraine, plenty to ponder now, Thank`s so much for getting together, I look forward to many more
It’s over-the-top to say, as Andrei Martyanov did, that western Europe doesn’t have European civilisation any more. The countries of western Europe, from Portugal in the SW to Germany in the NE and most countries in between, are still a wonderful, culturally rich, place to live.
The tragedy is its politicians. Most of them are rubbish. They do whatever Washington tells them to do, at the cost of everything that matters in Europe. The only ones with any trace of independent thought that I can think of are M. Macron, Viktor Orbán (isolated within the EU) and the Brit Jeremy Corbyn (outmanoeuvred politically within his own party and now without influence).
I simply do not understand the mentality of western European politicians. They sacrifice the economies of their countries and the well-being of their citizens to curry favour with the USA (and by the way the USA never returns favours, just pockets them) which is the declining hegemon; and they ignore the trade opportunities with the dynamic, rising economies of Asia. What am I overlooking?
There mentality is that they don’t care about the welfare of their own countries or their people. There is a death of patriotism in the West and the rise of globalist ideology in it’s place. When you don’t believe in the sovereignty of your own county. But instead accept that the world should be government by a financial globalism with a US hegemon in charge. Then you see the results we have today. Those “leaders” are either true believers, blackmailed, bribed ,or all three. And as long as they are able to have power in those nations, then we will continue as we are until the end.
The Pentagon suspended the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II deliveries over Chinese rare-earth metals used in magnets for pumps on the stealth fighter jet.
Defense Department spokesman Russell Goemaere told Bloomberg in an email that the F-35 program office “temporarily paused the acceptance of new F-35 aircraft to ensure the F-35 program’s compliance” with DoD rules sourcing “specialty metals.”
Goemaere said the Chinese alloy won’t disrupt operations with F-35s in deployment with US military and global partners because “the magnet does not transmit information or harm the integrity of the aircraft and there are no performance, quality, safety or security risks associated with this issue.”
The defense official said the F-35 program office “found an alternative source for the alloy that will be used in future turbomachines.”
“We are working with our partners and DoD to ensure contractual compliance within the supply chain … and are working with the DoD to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to resume deliveries,” Lockheed told Bloomberg.
Chinese alloy found in F-35s is no surprise, considering the country controls the global rare-earth metals market.
A Congressional Research Service report found that F-35s use about 920 pounds of rare earths per plane, mainly for electronic warfare sensors, electrical power systems, and magnets.
The US relies heavily on Asian countries for 80% of its rare-earths needs. There have been moves by the Biden administration to increase domestic supply chains as a priority to mitigate if China were to impose an export ban on US defense companies.
Rare earths are also central in manufacturing night vision goggles, precision-guided missiles, and drones. On the civilian side, metals are critical for electric vehicles and smartphones.
Ohh, that’s excellent News ! Here in Switzerland we will have a vote whether to purchase that lame, slightly overpriced duck or not, BUT the earliest date of the voting will be – bad luck (and sweet smile of the acting defence department Ministress) – after the signing of the final purchase contract which cannot be postponed due to production schedules of Lockheed – of course !
So the Fight is not yet over – the need for a stealth attack aircraft which is capable to deliver atomic bombs is of a highly dubious nature anyway for a neutral mini-country – as it is being crystal clear that a large part of the Top – Government would rather like to join NATO yesterday – it would allow for ruling to be a much more sedate and automated ritual and increase posture manifold – something midgets always have natural aspirations for.
I can only say that this was a truly enlightening, informative, candid and necessary discussion. One of the best I have ever heard, not to mention entertaining.
I have only one question that I would like to have heard them discuss, which was; When a rat is put into a corner, it becomes desperate, so to speak. I agree that Russia will prevail in this confict, ultimately. My point is that there was no mention of what the rat(s) would resort to, faceing defeat. There was no discussion of the horrific possibility of the use of WMD, nuclear weapons to be specific, and how this would be averted. As we all know this would make all other dicussions and positions irelevent and purely academic.
I would like to have heard their take on this paramount issue. I see little hope of western Imperilasm, admitting defeat.
Perhaps next time this could be talked about.
I appreciate the conversation. Myself I do not understand how the people around me (I live alternatively in Paris and Vienna) have lost their common sense. I start to believe also that there is something in the water which makes the best people stupid, may be they have always been stupid but we gave them the aura of being intelligent. Well, Pepe, I can invite you for lunch in Paris and we can have a nice conversation. I am an old lady and not a public person, so you will ask yourself why a lunch with that person in Paris? I am so sick of the US hegemony. It costs such a lot of bloodshed to humanity and people struggle since hundreds of years to overcome this colonial capitalism. Even better: Maybe I can organize a meeting with some peace groups so you would not be frustrated. Let’s see.
Love and peace

Perhaps the largest motivation for Russia to take Odessa permanently, is simply to honor the Russian protestors who where burned alive by the Ukis. During the 2014 Revolution.
