Dixie has always had a heavily agricultural economy, so many here are able to sympathize with the farmers in the Netherlands, whose lands and livelihoods are being threatened by globalists and radical environmentalists to further their agendas of technocratic control, depopulation, and so on.
And more than that. The Dutch farmers are skillfully using unconventional tactics in their fight (e.g., blocking roadways with manure, tractors, or hay bales set aflame), something Southerners also are familiar with in their wars against the British Empire (1776-83) and the nascent Yankee Empire (1861-5) under generals such Francis Marion, Nathan Bedford Forrest, and John Mosby.
But there is another similarity that isn’t so good. The South in her fight against the Yanks didn’t offer enough of a difference in fundamental ideals to inspire her people to keep fighting until independence was achieved. To be sure, there were (and are) some very real, very deep differences between the two that played a large role in their conflict. But what the War between the States ultimately boiled down to was a clash between two types of governmental systems: the centralized, unrestrained Yankee governing system and the decentralized, limited government of Dixie. And there simply isn’t enough spiritual strength and vitality in an idea like constitutional interpretation to fire good, decent men to fight in an agonizing war for years on end.
Thus, the South surrendered to Lincoln’s Army in 1865 after only four years of fighting, and has not mustered the wherewithal to challenge Washington City’s rule over her since then.
A similar situation may be developing in the Netherlands, where a right to widely distributed private ownership of land, economic autonomy, and this sort of thing is being opposed to a centrally planned economy with very few owners. Will the Dutch farmers be able to keep their resistance going with abstractions like ‘freedom’ as their underlying motivation?
The prospects do not seem too bright. In a contest of one atheistic, materialistic ideology (distributed ownership of farms) vs another atheistic, materialistic ideology (central ownership of farms), the system being pushed by the more ruthless of the two groups of people will likely prevail.
This is what happened in the States: Lincoln and his generals waged unlimited warfare against the civilians of the South and broke them down physically and mentally. Likewise in Canada with the trucker protests earlier this year, the globalist Trudeau government used harsh tactics against the protestors to bring that populist rebellion to a quick end.
The protests in the Netherlands are likely headed for the same sort of resolution: a hard crackdown by the Rutte government that breaks the spirit of the protestors, who then tamely submit to the new order. Unless . . .
Unless they infuse their protest with a substantive religious core.
For hundreds of years, the West has been working feverishly to secularize her society, to reject her Christian past. But it is precisely there that she will find what she needs to persevere against the globalists.
As the Feast of the Falling Asleep of the Mother of God is upon us, it is fitting to look at an instance of successful Christian resistance against a brutal foe that includes Her:
‘When the hordes of Batu Khan approached Smolensk in 1238, in the service of the Prince of Smolensk was a Roman soldier from a noble Orthodox family, who was Orthodox himself. His name was Mercurius. He was tall, courageous, and strong. It saddened him to see the destruction of so many churches, and he wished to lay down his life for Christ.
‘One day, during evening prayers in the temple before the wonderworking Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, the sacristan of the Cathedral heard a voice say, “Go to my servant Mercurius at Podol and quietly say to him: ‘Mercurius, the Sovereign Lady is calling you. Go and meet the enemy in your military armor.’
‘The sacristan went to his house and found Mercurius in the yard, praying in his armor. He had a miraculous premonition, and was waiting for him. The sacristan said, “Mercurius, go at once. The Sovereign Lady is calling you.”
‘They entered the cathedral, and Mercurius made a prostration. Once again, a voice came from the Icon: “My servant, Mercurius, I am sending you to drive the enemy from this city, and to defend this temple. It is for this reason that I have called you from your country. Tonight the enemy has plotted in secret to attack the city, and to destroy it. However, I shall not leave this city; by my prayers, it shall not fall into the hands of its enemies. Go at once to the place called Dolgomoste. An armed host of evil enemies is waiting there. Do not worry; you shall defeat the enemy Voevod. I shall not abandon you. You shall defeat the enemy in battle and obtain a crown of victory from God, and eternal blessedness.”
‘Dolgomoste was 14 versts from Smolensk. There was an enemy force, ready to attack the city in the morning. As he left the cathedral, Mercurius quietly and discreetly passed by the city guards, and with the words, “Most Holy Theotokos help me,” he rushed at the enemy. The first soldier was a giant who was proud of his strength, and he was followed by others. The Tatars ran when they saw a radiant Woman, and lightning-fast warriors, who struck them, and so they retreated permanently from the boundaries of Smolensk. Saint Mercurius, however, died in battle, and his head had been cut off.
‘The next morning, the citizens were surprised to see that the entire field was littered with enemy corpses. They found the body of their protector and buried it in the cathedral church. They hung his armor above his coffin, in accordance with his final wishes, as expressed by the sacristan.
‘The relics of Saint Mercurius rest in the cathedral church, which is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God.’
The message is clear: The Lord will help us overcome our enemies. The question for the West is, does she have enough faith and humility to even ask for the help? Or is she so overcome with pride and paralyzed with unbelief that she cannot?
If the farmers and their allies in the Netherlands have not yet reached such an abysmal state, then there is a saint who could be a St. Mercurius for them – St. Werenfrid:
‘Werenfridus was an Englishman by birth and was probably born in the kingdom of Northumbria. He forsook country and friends, to dedicate himself wholly to the service of God and his fellow creatures. He went to Ireland, where he served God in solitude and recollection. He is said to have been one of those twelve apostolic men belonging to the English nation, who were destined for a missionary career.
‘With their leader St Willebrord, these were sent out of Ireland by St. Egbert. They were destined to carry the word of life to the Frisians, Saxons and other pagans in the German territories. The exact time of St. Werenfridus arrival there, is not known. He was one of those Gospel preachers, however, to whom the Netherlanders are indebted for their Christian teaching. . . .
‘He particularly planted the faith and Church of Christ in the Isle of Batavia or Betuwe. He likewise converted the inhabitants of Medemblik, Durostadt, Elst, and Westerwort. His admirable virtues were very remarkable. And as he planted the Faith, so too he planted vegetables and taught others to do so too – hence his patronage of vegetable gardeners.
‘The writer of his Acts assures us, that it was impossible to express how rich he was in all good works and how careful he had been in administering comfort to the afflicted. He was incomparable for his kindness while he was an exemplar of charity towards the poor. He was assiduous in his watching, and rigorous in his fasting. He was diligent in prayer and he excelled in all devotion. In fine, he was conspicuous for all virtues. Great success attended his labours in gaining souls to Christ.
‘In a good old age, he received the reward of his labour. He departed some time around 780. . . . There formerly stood a collegiate Church dedicated to God in his name. This was much frequented, because miracles were often wrought within it by the Saint’s intercession.
‘ . . . There are many Churches sprinkled around Holland and Germany dedicated to him.’
What could be more fitting than inviting this patron of gardeners, this Apostle of the Dutch, to march with the farmers in their contests with their opponents? On banners and icons; in folk songs and prayers, they should carry him everywhere!
The West without the Orthodox Church and Her saints is little more than a collection of petty tribes squabbling interminably over paltry treasures that will perish with this present world: money, power, democracy, liberty, and the like. It is only union with God that gives anything unending life and unfading value. To the extent that the Dutch farmers can baptize their protests, the greater will be their chance of victory. Just ask the protestors of Montenegro who overcame an evil law in 2020.
The same holds true for all the West: life in the Orthodox Church of her ancestors or death outside of Her. On that choice alone depends all her fate.
good luck with that!
While listening to tendentious and ridiculous stories about The Netherlands, what have you been smoking yourself, boet?
Why do you assume that professional farmers in The Netherlands, a great majority of whom are deeply religious, need your farfetched and completely outdated belief system?
And the comparison with your American civil war would be hilarious, if it wasn’t so insulting.
The Civil War was between Yankee industrialists and Southern agrarians.
The problem for the South was that it represented an attempt to maintain a form of feudalism, the plantation owners being akin to noblemen, and their slaves being akin to medieval serfs. Although our Founding Fathers accepted this–some were plantation owners themselves– it violated the tenets of the Declaration of Independence, and even the Constitution prescribed a 20-year deadline for the importation of “persons”, i.e. slaves. It was inevitable that slavery in the U.S. would eventually come to an end.
The Southerners may have made a huge mistake in invading Pennsylvania. A purely defensive guerrilla-tactics conflict might have resulted in the North’s capitulation, that is, allowing Southern states’ secession to stand.
The War to Prevent Southern Independence was to keep the duties, imposts, and excises from Southern exports of cotton flowing in to the coffers of the central government, i.e., into the pockets of Lincoln’s handlers. The North had nothing to trade with Europe, but England bought cotton by the shipload and at the time foreign trade was the only source of revenue for the ever-hungry tax consuming central government apparatchiks.
At the time the gospel had been perverted to claim that negroes were doomed to slavery because they were descendants of Ham, so the South had no claim to Christian purity.
To the extent they had, I have no doubt there would not be a central government monster acting in the name of the American people to foment wars, death, and destruction all over the world in pursuit of one-world rule by brute force.
I know this is off-topic, but I’m not sure where else to post it. In this video, it sounds like Scott Ritter is saying that Gonzalo Lira is a Ukrainian agent. Did I hear correctly?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Etmzd370vl8
He said that, you heard correctly but at this point I trust nobody with the exception of The Saker and Orlov.Neither I trust Ritter.
Scott Ritter is a convicted pediphile. Does that say enough?
I wondered about that. I am a convicted felon, guilty of a crime punishable by one year in jail. My crime was to demand the arresting cop who stopped me for not wearing my seat belt on a 35 mph road which was converted into resisting arrest which has the teeth of being a pretext for a year in jail. Meanwhile, the code says “seatbelt violations” are not probable cause for arrest. The cop could not care less about what the encoded state statute said in my favor, he had flashing lights, a gun, taser, police-grade pepper spray and he was eager to use all three on anyone who did not immediately prostrate themselves before his imperial storm trooper majesty.
So, I checked out the claim against Scott Ritter. Seems his wife cut him off and he was trying to hook up with a girl on the internet who turned out to be cop impersonating a girl on the internet. Something to that? Cop as female impersonator? Drag queen with a badge and gun? Or, just a little faggot with a badge and gun cornering the market as “child protective services” being a front for supplying helpless boys and girls to a demonic bureaucracy?
Anyway, Ritter did not diddle any children beyond his keyboard and maybe in his sinful mind. I do not remember if pictures were involved. Meanwhile “the state”, that stalwart guardian of abortion clinics where children are tortured to death, is allowing the sexualization of children online. The O’Biden freak show of a visible government is nothing but sexual perversion and degeneracy, the usual “government” double standard or rather lack of any standard.
As for Ritter, I never paid the least bit of attention to him because he has said nothing that I didn’t already know or could think up for myself. I listen to the Andrei’s because they have intimate knowledge of a people whose language I don’t know but with whom I have worked and found them to be the most gentle and considerate people, Russian solid state physicists, mathematicians, process engineers, etc. Absolutely top notch people, not the murderous conquering Communists I had been indoctrinated to hate all my life.
I am sure none of us has ever looked at a picture of a nude woman and imagined a personal tryst with her. That’s why we have a Redeemer.
Scotty and Gonzo have been at daggers drawn with each other for some time now.
From where I sit – my money is on Mr Ritter. The more I learn about the man, the more impressed I am.
Now, as to Mr Lira – I will keep my sympathies towards him – with a hand on my wallet(so to speak).
There is no contradiction here – just lack of available data.
Ritter did say that and asked very pertinent questions.
Z is firing top SBU all the time now – Lira could be in trouble!
If that is true then this blog has really been trolled!
I’ve watched nearly all of Lira’s videos from February onwards, except for his roundtable vids.
Nothing he says contradicts other reliable sources.
There’s zero indication that he’s an agent for the Zelinsky regime.
Very beautiful and true thoughts. But why is there a solution only with the Orthodox Church? (Sidebar: I appreciate the Orthodox Church very much). Is there really no solution with the Protestant or Roman Catholic Church?
Well said, this site is very pro Russian Orthodox as if they are noble and other Christian denominations are not, but the bible is very clear… we are all in Christ – Col 3:11 & God is not a respecter of persons(no favouratism) either.
All true believers. Sincere prayers works, so the message is well taken.
Thanks to this author for bringing to our attention the one and only means available to us which is capable of defeating this Enlighted New World Order. Analyze yourselves where, throughout history, it has been stopped! Right now Serbians are massing an enormous protest to counter an LBGT festival planned there. A protest organized and promoted by their Bishop under the banner of Our Lady. How about Putin’s success. He who presided over the opening of hundreds of Orthodox Churches in Russia. Have you seen his office with its beautiful icons of Our Lady and the Christ? Orban is a faithful Christain, fueled by prayer, who is also making headway. Yes, the people of the Netherlands and Italy and France need to unite around their Bishops and invoke their Saints if they want success. Note that Salvini has been calling for that from the beginning-
What a weird take on the US Civil War. This article portrays it as a struggle between the “centralized” North and the “decentralized” South. The Southern economy was supported by slavery. The big income generator there was based on slavery. The plantations had tens, hundreds and even thousands of black workers to bring in the crops. In the North, there were very few farms larger than the family farms with perhaps a few hired workers.
As far as the economy was concerned the North was highly decentralized and the South was centralized around slave labor. The author is insulting the Dutch farmers by equating their current struggle with the struggle of Southern slave owners to preserve slavery.
The North employed its white slaves in large-scale industry.
The North freed the black slaves in the South and destroyed the Indians. This is a strange conception of human rights that takes some getting used to. Probably the Indians had weapons of mass destruction like Iraq? Yes, the North is so brave.
Prior to the Civil War the US economy was based on agriculture. Large scale industry grew after the Civil War. The destruction of Indians (you mean native Americans?) began in 1500, accelerated after the American revolution and was mostly completed by the 20th century. Both the North and the South, both during the colonial period and after 1776 contributed equally to native American genocide.
There is a complex history here, you should read up on it.
Accepted. Thank you for the nuanced, balanced information.
And as historians mostly can’t be trusted, the best source remains the Library of Congress.
As a “Native American” I too call myself Indian. American Indian. So yes, the name Indian is correct.
the ‘story’ is that Colombus (Colon) thought the indiginous were in India. I think this is preposterous, and that ‘Indian’ comes from Indigino (Spanish) Indigeno (Italian), and not from the Indian subcontinent.
The “story” also claimed that Columbus set sail to prove the earth was not flat and that George Washington never told a lie.
99.9% of what is taught as history in the US , is less factual then the majority of fairytales read to children.
How many US history books teach that when Hitler came to power, he shut down all Freemason Halls, Rothschild banks and imprisoned a Rothschild?
Or that the only slaves Lincoln freed were in the states that dare fight against him ? The states that supported Lincoln were allowed to keep their slaves for several more years.
Just like corrupt politicians need corrupt law enforcement to stay in power, corrupt leaders need an uneducated population in order to stay in power.
There are 24 other countries with higher literacy rates than the US.
Indeed! “Free, to go where, to do what?” and thus unemployment and hunger for the ‘freed’ slaves, and endless labour for minimal pay in the North with quite a lot of hidden white slaves to top it off.
Sixteen tons, and what do you get?
another day older and deeper in debt
St. Peter, don’t you call me, ’cause I can’t go
I owe my soul to the company store…
The point is accurate, that protests such as those mentioned are impotent without a genuine, thus strong, spiritual core. The point is not accurate, that such is possible only from within The Orthodox Church.
I disagree. All other Christian churches are watered and hollowed out versions of the Orthodox Church.
I believe the Orthodox Church to simply be another Catholic or Protestant church of a different color. If it’s not the actual church described in the Bible, then it has no spiritual value whatsoever.
The problem with “Bible” as ultimate authority it that it’s meaning is up to the reader. For example, Calvinists and Arminians have the same Bible but extract very different doctrines from it. Our Lord founded a Church, not a Bible and delegated Divine Authority to specific individuals. The Bible with a defined table of contents didn’t exist until more than three centuries after the Resurrection, and there wasn’t a printing press for more than a thousand years after that. Only the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Church have any claim to Apostolic Succession and thus, Authority.
“But what the War between the States ultimately boiled down to was a clash between two types of governmental systems: the centralized, unrestrained Yankee governing system and the decentralized, limited government of Dixie.”
I think you may have this backwards.
There was no such thing as “…limited government of Dixie.” ” Dixie wanted slaves. They wanted to control slaves. Slaves were their source of income. Just as slaves were essential and controlled elements to the colonial mindset of the UK. During the civil war, the UK and dixie were on the same page. Which is why the UK supported Dixie during that war – for the preservation of slavery aka colonialism. Limited government had no place in UK colonialism nor in dixie.
if the South had prevailed, we would have the Queen of England on our postage and coinage. United, the States could not be defeated by England, divided, the English could hae re-conquered their former colonies. They funded John Wilkes Booth, and had plans, which were interrupted by Russia, for sending a navy to suport the South.
Revolution is not a solution to become really civilized. History repeats again and again, to prove revolution is only a temporary solution when all stuff repeats itself. The French had a nice revolution and see where they are now. The only road is that of evolution and this takes a lot of time seen in all nature around us. Religion is more or less the same stuff as business is, getting power and holding onto power. Always use power to obtain more power, competitive with other religions and businesses. As if God truly had religion in mind to give humans the best. Religion is made by humans, just like humans make businesses. Religion caused many cruelties and death, in the name of God which is -in my opinion- the greatest sin there is. People who believe in religions or in businesses are more or less the same, they want to belong to it and make profit of it. When you believe in God, no need for religion. We need evolution to become real humans, instead of the beasts we still are. Violence and punishment will never be the solution for the long run. Because so few people see this, it will take more time to get there where God want us.
When someone regurgitates “we have a capitalist system”, you reply; “we have an irredeemable debt system administered by a privileged and paracitical class, with a compounding feature causing an exponentially increasing debt that will inevitably become untenable”.
(I just made that one up, but I thought it was rather good. )
When they disagree, ask them when the US Government will redeem all of its debt.
What does this mean for you and I?
Debt that is owed to you, from yesterday’s investments to today’s pay to the contract do in a year or ten years will be devalued, but not right away. Smaller economies will become unsustainable first, with mobile wealth moving to the bigger and the biggest last, subsequently propping up the biggest and last till the last. I expect to see prices of necessities becoming slightly more expensive and luxuries becoming less expensive for the next year. Then a “tipping point” will happen next fall and everybody and their uncle will dump their US Dollars in favor of tangible things and … poof, we have the “new world order” . Will Carl get his “universal basic income”, and take a picture of every port in America east of the Rocky Mountains? A feller can dream, can’t he?
It is so difficult to even broach the subject of the war between the states mainly because the Southern side of the conflict is often totally misconstrued. Victors write the history.
Still some questions raise uncomfortable answers. Why does the conflict start at Ft. Sumter? What is the role of tariffs like the Morrill tariff, etc.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morrill_Tariff
I think the best statement over the cause I’ve seen was articulated by Professor Clyde Wilson from the University of South Carolina.
“The central issue in the Civil War, to which all other questions, including slavery and centralization were subordinate, was the movement of American society into modernization. To Modernization, the divergent development of the American South presented a formidable obstacle. The South was vast, politically skilled, increasingly unified as the antebellum period wore on, and firmly opposed to economic nationalization in the form of protective tariffs, federal subsidies for the transportation infrastructure, free public lands, and a centralized banking system. It was opposed to that and opposed to cultural nationalism of it’s New England variety.”
As we move into what is called the 4th Industrial revolution these issues surrounding this new modernization seem in some ways similar to the last Industrial revolution. Organizations like the WEF are huge advocates for this new modernization, and are very much against national sovereignty and the rights of any social contract.
Religion can be a unifying factor but in this case this is a fight for survival. A generation faces its annihilation. That is plenty motivational by itself.
South did not believe in public property at all. The libertarians of Texas prove it all, where 83% of all land is privately owned (next is S. Dakota), where are in the west, states like Nevada its just 17%
So, it was more about who owns land and that’s all. The Hunt’s and Bass’s could’nt have become billionaires if they had to drill on public land and pay royalty
Below is a response a lady left on an article about the rebel flag. This best explains the reasoning behind the war, I have seen yet.
“The flag stands for a lot more than people think. The x was for the support of the 10th amendment to the constitution that spells out what is controlled by congress and what is left to the states. It was not the flag of the confederate government. It was the flag that flew over the battlefields while Southern men were fighting and dying. It represents those who died who were buried in mass graves by the federals. It is a remember acne of the rape of the South by Sherman’s troops. It should never be forgotten what Federal troops did to US civilians (and later went on to do the American Indian). The Southerners were no more traitors against the US than the revolutionaries were against the British. The right to self determination and representation was the cause. The Supreme Court never ruled that succession was illegal nor legal and the court should have ruled on it. The subject may come up again. The constitution never said blood in blood out.
It’s been over 150 years since the end of the civil war and the US is still punishing the South. I grew up drinking Dixie cola and the flag was on everything and it was the symbol of our area of the country and southern culture. The Northerners continue to bring up slavery. 1.2% of the people owned slaves and they were not the ones fighting and dying on the battle field. The flag was about men fighting for their homes after invasion from the North. What is going on is the attempt to change history. As with all wars it was over money and where the cotton could be sold. The Northern states wanted all the cotton to go up their to their mills instead of going to the mills in the UK which were willing to pay more per bale. Then came the threats on the veiled threats on Charleston at that point people’s livelihoods were threatened and they attacked Ft Sumpter that was the major threat.
People need to learn about the war and not listen to the latest tripe and realize the flag stand for much more than just the easy target of liberal hate. They continue to blame the south for everything. No one remembers that they burned the city of Columbia to the sand with nothing but women and kids and old men in town. They make SC the nuclear dumping site for the whole country and it never ends.”
My family’s Rebel flag hangs a little higher having read this. Thank you Cyndy!
Every time someone says “global warming”, you say; 53 nations engage in various forms of weather control today, ranging from intricate atmospheric heaters to simple cloud seeding, and our “climate” has been manipulated for as long as 100 years in some locations. And maybe we should start there?”
And watch their head explode
The farmers in question in The Netherlands are mostly Fries. These people are not going to give in to pressure from the govt. They are more independent-minded, and more Viking in origin than the rest of The Netherlands. These are not the people one should pick to fight.
With testimonies such as these Samuel and Bisop Moule must have had quite the encounter and experience with Power from on High. I especially love these words:
“There came into my soul a deep peace, a thrilling joy, and a new sense of power. My mind
was quickened. I felt that I had received a new faculty of understanding. Every power was alert. Either illumination took the place of logic, or reason became intuitive.”
Wow, if that right there hasn’t been my own experience!! Yes, that’s the Christ I know. Amazing to find such a testimony from 1928 regarding the Moravian Pentecost of August 1727 by the Scandinavian minister Dr. John Groenfeldt.
“I have written and preached much on the Holy Spirit, for the knowledge of Him has been the most vital fact of my experience. I owe everything to the gift of Pentecost. * * * I came across a prophet, heard a testimony, and set out to seek I knew not what. I knew that it was a bigger thing and a deeper need than I had ever known. It came along the line of duty, and f entered in through a crisis of obedience. When it came I could not explain what had happened, but I was aware of things unspeakable and full of glory. Some results were immediate. There came into my soul a deep peace, a thrilling joy, and a new sense of power. My mind
was quickened. I felt that I had received a new faculty of understanding.
Every power was alert. Either illumination took the place of logic, or reason became intuitive. My bodily powers also were quickened. There was a new sense of spring and vitality, a new power of endurance, and a strong man’s exhilaration in big things. Things began to happen. What we had failed to do by strenuous endeavor came to pass without labor. It was as when the Lord Jesus stepped into the boat that with all
their rowing had made no progress, immediately the ship was at the land whither they went. It was
gloriously wonderful.”-(Dr. Samuel Chadwick, of Cliff College, England.)
“Never shall I forget the gain to conscious faith and peace which came to my soul, not long after a first decisive and appropriating view of the Crucified Lord as the sinner’s sacrifice of peace, from a more intelligent and conscious hold upon the living and most gracious personality of the Holy Spirit
through whose mercy the soul had got that blessed view. It was a new development of insight into the
love of God. It was a new contact as it were with the inner and eternal movements of redeeming goodness, a new discovery in divine resources.” (Handley C. G. Moule, Bishop of Durham.)
“Often have I said to myself, as I have read Moravian history, and felt the sweet strength of the Moravian literature of devotion and praise: Si non essem Anglicanus uttnem fierem Moraaus; ‘ lf I were not of the English Church I would fain be of the Moravian”- (Bishop Moule, of Durham.)
O renew our days dear Lord, please renew our days and once again send rain to break up our fallow ground. We all but Europe especially needs this rain from heaven!!!
A hymn from Charles Wesley brother to John Wesley:
“Depth of mercy, can there be
Mercy still reserved for me,
Can my God His wrath forbear,
Me, the chief of sinners spare?
“I have long withstood His grace,
Long provoked Him to His face,
Would not hearken to His calls,
Grieved Him by a thousand falls.”
“For ever here my rest shall be,
Close to Thy Pierced side; ‘ This all my hope and all my Plea,
For me the Saviour died.
“My dying Saviour and my God,
Fountain for guilt and sin,
Sprinkle me ever with Thy- blood,
And cleanse and keep me clean.”
Cheers and Peace
“patronage of VEGETABLE gardeners” ?? The issue is with LIVESTOCK farmers.
Nederland is densely populated; Dutch ppl living in the areas of industrial (scale) livestock farming die 1 year younger than those who don’t… and most of what we overproduce gets exported anyway.
Russia would be a utopia for these livestock farmers; cheap fertiliser, cheap land, cheap fuel, ice skating every year.
“Radical environmentalists” aren’t in power. I think it’s US interests killing competition :p
The situation in the Netherlands is as follows:
– the govmt has thought up a ‘Nitrogen’ (N) problem, where too much N emission, pe. from cows manure, supposedly would harm so called Natura200 areas. These areas are protected environmentally and the flora/fauna has to conserveed as it is now. This is a nonsense problem, it stops at the borders with Germany and Belgium.
-So farmer have to lower N emission and many farms near Natura2000 fields will have to close down. These farmers lose their living lifelyhood and have to go on welfare and into poverty seeing their homes demolished, where in many cases multiple generations have farmed the land and lived. A deep drama. Also in the light of the comming food crisis. A large fraction of farmers is affected, more than half of them.
-The motivation to resist thus is very strong, it is protesting or lose everything. The Dutch population understands and is supporting the protest actions. Talks between farmers and govmt have yielded nothing as you might expect.
-And after the farmers who will be next?
The failure of the American War for Southern Independence had little to do with ideology but instead resources and their overall strategies.
On the one hand, the South simply could not duplicate the level of industrial production that the North could muster. As a result for an effective campaign, the South needed to implement dramatic guerrilla tactics to ensure that the South would not lose the conflict, which in her position was more important than an outright win.
Unfortunately, the southern generals, as fine as they were, implemented standard 19th century battlefield tactics, which incurred severe losses in the major engagements.
And though Robert E. Lee was a superb general and strategist, he was not a very good battlefield tactician. The result was that many of his battlefield decisions caused the South to lose far more soldiers than were necessary. This combined with growing lack of resources is what eventually exhausted the Confederate Armed Forces and forced them to surrender. It had nothing to do with whether or not they remained true to their beliefs or not. Instead, the South simply could not deal with northern industrialization and the subsequent ruthlessness of the northern generals who would eventually terrorize southern civilians.
In Holland we have a saying. If you eat with the devil you need a long fork. Now that the Globalist have come to dine with us we need a very very very long fork. We need to not underestimate the evil we are dealing with.
Dutch society in general is secular and doesn’t believe in good or evil, only in what is practical and what is not practical.
Maybe the farmers have religious understanding and are wiser then they seem to be. I haven’t seen much religious conviction let alone believe in the Saints in them. But what is not can maybe come.
The two systems are ultimately the same: SLAVERY. One is Chattel Slavery the other Wage Slavery. No difference. They BOTH break the Golden Rule by doing unto others what you don’t want done to yourself and they do it without the knowledge or permission of the OTHER.
As an outsider to the great Christian faith I cannot help but point to a puzzling thought.
If Orthodox Christianity is oldest, continuous tradition, then the second one will be a bit less old and a bit watered down (a little). Take this to few more centuries, and anything new, whatever the claims, will be newer and more watered down, no matter how continuous they become after their origin.
You can see this easily demonstrated in a follower of a faith. He will be willing to suspend his beliefs to commit an error, i.e. less devout. He will be willing to be more ruthless at times when restraint is needed of him and his fellow believers.
It is the judgement of heart that will provide the catalyst for individual action or inaction. And that judgement of hearts is even more potent in a community.
I have spoken with people of Christian tradition, and their main problem seems to be the lack of continuity, which gives rise to all other problems binding things together.
It does not bring any joy to see a great tradition being thrown out by its own “supposed” adherents so quickly. They happen to watch too much TV, where miracle and magic do not differ.
“…Thus, the South surrendered to Lincoln’s Army in 1865 after only four years of fighting and has not mustered the wherewithal to challenge Washington City’s rule over her since then.”
I think you need to read some more history. The South has had an undue influence on policy in Washington for decades, first as “Dixiecrats” and then as new Republicans. It started with the ending of Reconstruction under Hayes
Whew! This guy does have a weird view of history. And some strange religious ideas. I am especially concerned about the idea that the outbreak of the “Honkies” in Canada was some kind of popular uprising. These people had no support among the population, or among farmers, truckers, or anyone else who works for a living.
Trudeau has mostly been faulted for not acting faster and harder against them. I am Canadian.
There is that other more viable great reset: Michael hudson’s Debt Jubilee.
