Better they include exercises on repelling foreign invader landings.
What are these giant landing ships doing in the South China Sea?
(note CNoNews puts this under ‘politics’.
Troubles for the ships, which cost around $360 million apiece, began in December, when the USS Milwaukee (LCS 5), broke down off the East Coast and had to be towed 40 miles to a naval base in Virginia. The 388-foot-long, 3,400-ton Milwaukee was on its way to its home port of San Diego after commissioning in November.
China approved the establishment by Ukraine of the route of cargo delivery bypassing Russia
Beijing welcomes the steps of Ukraine on the establishment of a new branch of the “silk road” for the delivery of goods from and to China bypassing Russia. As reported by TASS, so said the official representative of the Chinese foreign Ministry Hua Chunying.

Its a sad fact that China likes to play “both sides” in World affairs. They don’t seem to ever realize that always ends up badly for countries doing that. Maybe it will take uprising in Western China to really start up, for them to realize that mistake. Russia could always just sit back with popcorn and watch.Instead of aiding China when the West starts “demanding’ China cease their “human rights” violations in that region. And threatening sanctions over it. It would serve them right if Russia did. But instead the likelihood is that Russia would be a friend and help them.A meaning of “friendship” that China should “study” up on.
China’s recent threat to impose sanctions on U.S. defense companies that sell arms to Taiwan should come as no surprise to American officials or corporate executives: Washington has been issuing sanctions of these sorts for years. It was only a matter of time before U.S. competitors started copying its tactics.

I think and hope China realises how unreliable Kiev is and how the US runs the country……there is a $3bn grain debt outstanding with the current Kiev Govt…..I think they are just diversifying their routes to make maximum impact. Just wait for the bribes when they try to get through Ukraine! Good luck! The US now has a route via Caspian Sea too…….
Someone dug this out about The Donald & a China connection, & it simply exposes him along with a whole history trail of events & quirks for what his real value roots are, not even considering who surrounds & funds him now as the latest rock star/savior:
I originally came across this interview after seeing a tweet referencing a 25 year old interview during which Trump expressed admiration for how strongly Chinese authorities cracked down on dissent in Tiananmen Square in 1989. I immediately thought to myself that this would be the perfect fodder to further elucidate the kind of cold, brutal, authoritarian leader Trump undoubtably would be as President.
Many people believe the Tiananmen Square 1989 was a US color revolution attack on China which failed because China stopped it. So I’m not sure you will get any “traction” with that story.
I totally agree that China needs to upgrade her military force. And that having no “actual” experience in combat operations is a very real problem for China’s military. But I don’t see them moving to fix that problem. While having the second largest military budget (according to military statistic sources we hear of). They still are “light years” behind Russia and the US in military resources. But equally as important is that,as we see almost daily, the US is moving to increase the military potential of China’s neighbors. Countries that are not “overly” friendly to China, such as,Vietnam,Japan,The Philippines,South Korea and the breakaway Taiwan. As well as involving themselves against China. The “handwriting” is on the wall for China to see. The fact that they seem to be ignoring it,is a problem in itself. Trying to play but sides against the middle, only gets a country squeezed to death in that middle. The US endgame is clear to anyone not blind. They want to control a weakened “democratic China”. Without Tibet and “Turkestan”,who they would make independent. And possibly Inner Mongolia united with Mongolia, and an independent Manchuria as well. They have the same ideas for China they have for Russia,”divide and control” ,the conquer part they plan on already doing.Even when read back in history you’ll find that was a Western plan a century ago. Churchill advocated it even early in his career as a way to control the “threat” to the West from a powerful future China. The West never drops an idea they like. They recycle it over and over until they get it right.
Better they include exercises on repelling foreign invader landings.

I think perhaps the Chinese have a sense of humour.
And then there are better news.

I’m glad to see that China is finally doing what she needs to do, to keep peace in the world.
A strange irony that the biggest countries are actually the most peaceful, but that they need to become the most dangerous to stay peaceful.
