Al-Manar reports: “Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah called on Tuesday Lebanese to take part in the massive Ashoura march scheduled on Wednesday to renew commitment to the Resistance choice and hostility to the Zionist entity as well as the “Greatest Satan” which gives the orders. His eminence slammed the decision to launch a war on the Gaza Strip as foolish, thanking God “for making our enemies so stupid and dumb,” renewing support to the Palestinian Resistance in its battle against the Zionist enemy in the Gaza Strip and stressing that the resistance was never and shall never be anyone’s pawn.”
The Israelis “stupid and dumb”?
Yes, and not only that, they are also arrogant self-worshiping racists who do not see further than the very short term and who seriously think that their Zionist dream nightmare of an ethnically pure “Israel” can be built by terror, violence and deception.
There is not such thing as an “intelligent racist”, these are really two mutually exclusive conditions. This has always been true worldwide, and this is true for the Israeli Jews.
G-damn do i love that guy! Who is the greatest freedom fighter in the world right now, Nasrallah or Muqtada?
@anonymous: alas, alas, alas, there is only one Nasrallah in the world and Muqtada is far, very far, away form being even a “Nasrallah in the making”. Iraq really would need a Nasrallah nowadays, but so far none have materialized…
But yes, I have the deepest respect for Nasrallah too.
muqtada is an idiot — his people put drills in Palestinian refugee’s heads.
@anonymous: well, things are just a little more complex than that. you ever wonder what beef Muqtada has with the Palestinians? Like maybe something connected to their stance towards Saddam and his Shia-murdering policies? You know – stuff like ‘blowback’?
why diss sadr? he resisted, held out, never collaborated and stuck with his people against the scariest military empire in world history, and survived. what more could he do? US army hunted him twice in najaf and he forced them to back off – a win, no? better than the sons of iraq collaborators have done. when the vichy US regime finally collapses in iraq, muqtada will be the one untainted popular leader to lead a free iraq back to respectability and, hopefully, prosperity.
@anonymous3: oh, there are reasons to be critical of Sadr. Not the anti-Sunni and anti-Palestinian atrocities which were committed as there evidence that he personally was opposed to them and had to reign in some of his Shia forces. No, the reasons to be less then thrilled about him are, in my mind, his “on and off” attitude towards Iran which he first vehemently opposed and then supported. His so-called “independence” on Tehran actually makes it *harder* to boot the occupation forces out as the Shia resistance is not unified. It also forces Iran to keep some of its “eggs” in the al-Maliki “basket” as Iran is simply forced to play Muqtada against Maliki: if it put all its weight behind one, the other one would totally oppose Iran.
The fact is, I think, that Iran does not have an “Iraqi Nasrallah” to work with and Iran is therefore *forced* to play both Shia groups against each other to put a maximum of pressure on the occupation forces.
Recently, Moqtada has finally changed his tune (being in Qom probably helped) and I hope that in the future he will become a reliable ally of Iran (notice: I did *not* say “puppet”, I said *ally* because that is what Hezbollah is for Iran).
