But I disagree on blaming WWII on a Jewish campaign against Germany: Hitler showed strong anti-Jew feelings and advocated for a huge continental war to gain “Lebensraum” for Germany already in the 1920’s, when he wrote “Mein Kampf”. And the declarations of some Jews in 1933 for a boycott against Germany could well have been only a defense against a regime which was already known to be extremely anti-semitic. Yes, the Germans had their motives for being anti-semitics, some of them fair: but this does not justify the internment and killing of so much Jews, which the author (correctly) doesn’t deny.
@Carlo: oh yes, there is much I would argue with in that video. I just posted it here because I think that it is an excellent defense of the right to investigate history and challenge any narrative. I hate censorship in any and all forms, and history is something which should belong to us all, and not to legislators or judges. I find Anthony Lawson’s videos extremely well made and powerful, and I like his way of presenting the argument, but that most definitely does not mean that I would agree with every single aspect of them (nor, in fact, that Anthony expects his audience to).
I’m curious how effective a boycot could have been. Germany experienced enormous economic growth 1933-39. Germany was a world power with real influence. It would be like calling for a boycott of the USA today. It would hardly be noticed.
Of course, I fully support Lawson’s right to free speech and he’d welcome honest criticism.

Yes yes, sooner or later, this is how it always seems to go following the official fabrication of simplistic myths and nursery-school-level moral imperatives out of complex historical events: sooner rather than later some courageous souls come along and refute the fabrication (which is usually very easy) and then substitute them with an equally skewed and equally simplistic historical vista of their own. I have come to the conclusion that the reason for this pattern is that neither party is the least bit interested in what really happened: it’s all a function of politics. The outcome is always a spiteful noisy mess, irrespective of whether it’s, say, Serbia and Kosovo, or here the Holocaust and Israel. It serves the Israelis and their Western patrons right of course: this is their own hate medicine after all. That said it’s historically preposterous and simply disgusting to pontificate on this issue without mentioning the racial views of the Nazis.
