Dear friends and readers,
Today I am writing to you to appeal for your help. By now it must be clear to everybody that what is taking place today is not just some “Cold War v2” or some “East-West tensions”, but a full-scale total war between not only Russia and the USA, but between the entire AngloZionist Empire and the Resistance (lead by Russia and the BRICS). Make no mistake, this is not about the Ukraine or, even less so, about the Donbass. This is about regime change in Moscow. Ask yourself a simple question: what will happen to China, Iran, Latin America and the rest of the planet if the AngloZionists are successful and a Eltsin/Proshenko/Hollande/Abbot/etc-like figure takes over the Kremlin? I am not saying that Russia today “is” the Resistance, but I am saying that Russia is absolutely indispensable for the Resistance. If Russia loses this war, the Empire wins the planet. And if Russia wins, that will be the end of the Empire. That is really that simple.
So far this war has been a 1% shooting war, 30% financial war and 69% information war. But what is crucial is this: these ratios can change. Look at the devastation this 1% war caused in the Donbass and imagine what a full-scale 100% shooting continental war would do to our planet! In fact, if we lose the information war the probability of these ratios changing for the worse is very high. In other words, to avoid a continental shooting war we have to win the information war.
We all know that Russians are experts are shooting, adequate at finances and absolutely terrible at public relations. I would argue that the volunteer blogosphere has done much more to explain the Russian point of view than the entire state-funded Russian media. But with the informational battle heating up, we need help, a lot of help.
In this war, the single best “weapon” we have a direct translations from Russian into English. Documents, speeches and official statements, of course, but also videos, commentaries, documents from the vibrant Russian blogosphere. If the Russians knew anything at all about PR they would hire a firm with the sole task of translating this kind of material into Russian. Such a firm could employ no more than 50 full time translators plus assisting personnel. It would cost the Russian state budget pennies. But they won’t do it because they just don’t “get it”.
We will have to do it. Pro bono.
Because, above all, we don’t want to be bystanders.
And we don’t want a continental war.
So, I literally beg all of you who can translate from Russian into English, even if you are not professionals or if your English is not perfect (we have editors who will gladly help: please contact the Russian Saker Team whose appeal I am publishing below in English and Russian. Please offer your assistance, even just for a few hours a week, to translate the huge amount of most important information we have in Russian into English (because English is the lingua franca of our planet). Please help us stop an Empire gone crazy and hell bent on starting a shooting war with Russia.
Specifically, I ask you to do two things:
1. Contact the Russian Saker Team at editor@vineyardsaker.ru and offer them your services
2. Spread this appeal to any and all contacts you have who might help or even know somebody who could help.
Please don’t be a bystander.
The Saker
Shaking hands across the ocean
We, the volunteers of the Russian Diaspora, spontaneously organized ourselves into a group to help our historic Homeland of Russia. Our site is the Russian version of the parent English blog “The Vineyard of the Saker”, which analyzes the current pressing issues in the world. The blog owner, The Saker, has extensive experience in military analysis, which is very popular in the English-speaking blogosphere.
Multiple language volunteer groups have decided to bring the Saker’s blog to their readership. As of today, in addition to Russian, we have French, German, Serbian, Italian, Spanish (Latin American) and Oceania (Pacific) versions. This is truly an unprecedented case of volunteers from around the world spontaneously uniting to organize an opposition to the mainstream Western media’s reporting of world’s events.
The realization that we have been bluntly manipulated by certain global interests that are mindlessly pushing the world towards war and destruction, prompted us to join our voices to the growing world protest against the propaganda of violence and hatred. Exposing the thick wall of Western lies and trying to tell people the truth from the other side is the civic duty of every honest person.
We say NO to violence and wars around the world; we stand for peaceful coexistence, economic and cultural cooperation between our nations; and, we extend the hand of friendship to all nations, brothers and sisters all over the world!
We will be together only through the realization that we share common values and interests: the right to freedom, self-development, labour and education, the right to love and raise our children, the right to the TRUTH and LIFE.
The purpose of the unbridled Western propaganda is contrary to these rights and to befuddle our consciousness and identity, to divide us, to force us to hate each other, so we can be more easily crushed one by one.
If you support our call and want to help, please join our volunteers. We need people with various language skills to translate our material.
Please contact us at editor@vineyardsaker.ru.

Example of the power of alternative media here, Saker: Russian translators produced transcript of Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Sharii’s interview with a Ukrainian serviceman who manned Ukraine’s BUK battery no. 312:
http://www.ukrainewar.info/shooting-mh-17-buk-312-story-false-says-ukraine-crew-member/
This is critical intel because it completely unravels the claims of Empire sock puppet Eliot Higgins that the ‘Russian’ BUK he ‘tracked’ via Google Street view and certain photographs that just happens to be numbered 3×2 is not the same as Ukraine’s BUK 312, despite the overwhelming coincidence that two of the three digits along the side were identical.
https://twitter.com/EliotHiggins/status/545247550362886147
Note also how quickly Eliot Higgins denies everything, doubling down on his laughable claim that his Bellingthecat blog ‘team’ (without stating any real qualifications on Soviet/Russian air defense systems whatsoever) ‘proved’ that ‘their’ BUK 3×2 had nothing to do with Ukraine’s 312. This is desperation and only the worst hacks at the BBC would continue to cite Higgins as a credible source. It’s also no accident Higgins suddenly decided to tweet about Cuba and everything but MH17 to distract people from his weak rebuttal that his ‘BUK 3×2’ case is a Ukie SBU hoax.
This is the difference Russian volunteer translators can make, by allowing critical intel to go viral across the web in English and other languages.
Anyone using the Google Chrome browser can install the Google Translate extension which will translate any webpage or article between Russian and English, or many other languages with one mouse click. I have used it on many of the international Saker sites and it gets the message across, although it may not be perfect. I have compared it to the translation on RT and RI videos and compares fairly well.
Will putin last 6 months?
after all, there’s already much talk about a moscow maidan by spring.
note this scenario magic number was dreamed up (?) by the banksters themselves, absolutely independent of & removed from any accountability to putin.
http://www.voltairenet.org/article186186.html
Russian experts have calculated that Washington would act if oil prices remained below 60 dollars a barrel for more than six months. Two months ago, the Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira S. Nabiullina, testified before the Duma that she was ready for this scenario, the institution holding sufficient reserves.
Therefore, if for the moment Russia is seriously affected by the NATO economic attack, the situation could be reversed in six months. To maintain its domination over the world, Washington would then be forced to intervene to drive up oil prices
great appeal! well done Saker!
I think we all agree that Russia is the “piece maitresse” of the resistance to the Empire. We must help her to save ourselves.
Putin to push the big red button?
http://www.intrepidreport.com/archives/14710
Further economic sanctions of similar severity and as yet to be identified legal sanctions will severely compound Putin’s problems, across the board. This would probably be enough to crash the ruble, even before any military provocations are carried out. So, as is the way of geostrategic thinkers, Putin can easily see the endgame of Obama’s gambit, meaning that the military contest will decide everything in the end, so why not go there now? Thus explaining the resurgence of Russian apocalyptic references to the humiliation being forced upon it. If we get past all of the diplomatic B.S., who will blink first, when it comes to pulling the nuclear trigger?
Dunno if I can help here. Though there are better people around.
Maybe… Greg Hunter.
Here he interviews Paul Craig Roberts on the atack on the Rouble. What he calls the Red Pill Interview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRrNs4mlHMA
El Sid
The story of the ruble: Is Russia turned into a late Weimar Republic? Counterrevolution from above? Maidan? Or “nothing to see here”?
Some might also possibly suggest that the melting of the ruble might be also a sign of a “deal” over Donbass, which Lavrov’s latest statements suggest together with the stated result of the sudden meeting of Putin with Hollande, the Penguin, at Vnukovo” in the form of “unambiguous commitment to territorial integrity of Ukraine.” And that would mean–judging from the statements and demands of the US, EU, and Kiev–also reparations. And if reparations (however crazy it may sound), we would be talking about very, very large amounts of money.
One can think here of the planned conference on a financial package for Ukraine or this seemingly strange and also relevantly recent interview of a possible British insider (MI 5?) Tim Bell: “Make Putin pay!” And the first figure which Bell gives is $500 billion.

@ Russian The Saker team.
I am German and I want to thank you for your fantastic and commendable efforts.
You are right: the fate of our world depends now mainly on Russia and the impecable leadership of Mr. Putin fighting off the vile and rather uncivilized onslaught of the ,West’, mainly the USA and Camerons GB with the panicking Merkel EU in tow.
Russia has morphed into what the rogue US Govs pretended to be but never were – an indispensable nation.
I trust, that that we all together, the citizens in Europe, can bring the evil US to her knees by unveiling their ridiculous lies and by spreading the truth.
United WE stand, divided we fall.
This should be our common european theme.
Saker an important appeal, people need resources to understand what is going on, the more that can be translated and made available the better.
A practical and worthwhile objective — many thanks.
A posted crosstalk episode talks about Resolution 758.
However I recently read about the US passing H.R. 5859 and wonder if this has been discussed here yet.

The PETRODOLLAR.
As already been said, this is the *core* of the Ukrainian crisis and the threat against Russia.
I’ve found some videos which explains it, I’d like to share here (with simple words. For everybody. No financial knowledge needed).
What is the Petrodollar? Why is it SO important to US/FED? The massive WEALTH generated by it.

My dear friend Saker
You said
Make no mistake, this is not about the Ukraine or, even less so, about the Donbass. This is about regime change in Moscow.
——-
No, it is not about the regime change…It is about wiping Russia off the map.
The rest is 100% correct.
Croat and Russophile
,No, it is not about the regime change…It is about wiping Russia off the map.’
If they wipe Russia ,off the map’, how then will the thugs be able to exploit her afterwards?
I’ve signed up.
What for translators ?
Westerners are useless !
A bunch of faggots,

Since Kennedy death America died too.
What we need is Russian People Stay put Behind Putin at all cost.
p1. Unfortunately, desired outcomes often differ significantly from probable outcomes. To understand probable outcomes, certain questions should be asked.
Will U.S./NATO operations to expand this military bloc (Ukraine , Georgia, etc.) continue and indeed intensify?
Will economic warfare/economic sabotage operations continue?
How will Russia respond to U.S./NATO/Israel operations to destroy its economy?
Will the U.S./NATO/Israel bloc successfully establish a no-fly zone over regions of Syria, preceding direct military strikes against government forces?
Will Russia be forced to intervene as officials have indicated would occur?
Will Israel attack Hezbollah and Iran next year as their military intelligence anticipates?
Will a resultant multi-front regional conflagration translate to interventions by broader alliances?
Will it become necessary for Russia to resort to a military response as U.S./NATO proxy war operations against it intensify?
Will NATO Articles 5 or the 4th term of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation be implemented in the event of direct military conflict between members of opposing military blocs?
One question provides a clear answer:
What happens when you act aggressively against a bear, destroy its ability to support itself and back it into a corner?
In time the U.S./NATO/Israel bloc shall find out.
p2. ‘A far larger multi-front conflict likely to occur in the Levant, possibly in first half of next year’
“the Israeli army is making plans and training for a very violent war against Hezbollah” (Israel preparing for ‘very violent’ war against Hezbollah, TV report says, TimesofIsrael, 06/09/2014)
“far more extensive conflicts with Iran and Hizballah which, according to military intelligence forecasts, confront Israel in the spring” (Israel’s new IDF chiefs must take next prospective war with Hizballah onto enemy ground, Debka, 01/12/2014)
“High-ranking American military sources revealed Monday, Dec. 8, that Israel’s air strikes near Damascus the day before wiped out newly-arrived Russian hardware including missiles that were dispatched post haste to help Syria and Hizballah frustrate a US plan for a no-fly zone over northern Syria…. The Kremlin has repeatedly warned – of late in strong messages through back channels – that the establishment of a no-fly or buffer zone in any part of Syria would be treated as direct American intervention in the Syria war and result in Russian military intervention for defending the Assad regime….. The Assad regime has held back from reacting to past Israeli air raids for preventing advanced weaponry from reaching Hizballah. This time, spokesmen in Damascus warned that their government’s response would be clandestine and cause Israel unimaginable harm.” (Israel air strikes wiped out Russian hardware for thwarting US no-fly zone plan over Syria, 08/12/2014)
p3. “Russian officials fear regional war may turn into a world war.”
“….the worry in Moscow is that the hotheads in the Pentagon and at Nato headquarters in Brussels will decide to start hitting Islamic State positions in Syria along with other targets there as well – for instance, Syrian army positions…. The threat of a regional war that could escalate into a world war was taken very seriously by the Kremlin. (Russia: We warned the Yanks about Islamic State, Alexander Nekrassov, 15 Sep 2014)
‘Preparations for direct military conflict between nuclear armed blocs, including the possibility of nuclear warfare’
“In a joint article with NATO General Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen on the same day, [U.S. General] Breedlove noted that all diplomatic efforts notwithstanding, NATO must prepare for a war with Russia.” (Ukrainian army steps up offensive in the east, 19 August 2014)
“The possibility of local armed conflicts along nearly the whole border has increased dramatically. In certain conditions, I do not rule out local and regional armed conflicts developing into a large-scale war, including using nuclear weapons.” [Russian General Nikolai Makarov] (Russia warns NATO on its readiness for nuclear WW3, Nov 18th, 2011 [and/or] Nuclear war could erupt along Russia’s borders with Europe, warns Kremlin commander, 18th November 2011)
“The [military] units involved in the exercise also practiced a massive nuclear launch-under-attack strike by the Moscow missile defense forces.” (Russian military practices massive launch-under-attack strike under Putin’s supervision, 8 May 2014)
p4. The war between the U.S./NATO/Israel bloc and Russia has already begun, albeit in preliminary stages (proxy warfare, economic warfare, destabilisation/partition/regime change operations within Russia, etc.) so far absent of direct military conflict. The events in Ukraine were planned well in advance and are being currently executed. The objective is the integration of Ukraine into the EU (political/economic) and NATO (military) bloc. Ukrainian military assets are to be integrated/interoperable with the U.S./NATO military bloc and the enhancement of offensive capabilities/preparation for war is evident through deployments to member states of this bloc.
Statements and actions reveal that Russia will almost certainly continue to manage the situation through moderate/calculated responses however it is clear Russia is preparing for a worst case scenario. As the expansion /build-up of the U.S./NATO bloc is unlikely to cease and hostile operations (proxy warfare/economic warfare/ economic sabotage operations, destabilisation/partition/regime change operations within Russia, etc.) will almost certainly intensify, it is probable that it will eventually reach an untenable situation.
Russia will not be able to isolate itself from these events. U.S./NATO/Israel bloc is committed to the pursuit of hegemony. This strategic situation has significant implications for states that seek an independent policy. Independent policy is incompatible with the global objectives of this military bloc that seek to expand their influence/control of foreign governments, assets, resources, etc.. This is often achieved through the mechanism of colour revolution technology (installation of aligned political assets, development of assets within foreign political/military structures, etc.), conditional debt bondage (acquisition of foreign assets through IMF structural reform programs/privatisations) and/or offensive military operations.
The U.S./NATO/Israel project of global hegemony (pursuit of ‘full spectrum dominance’, military/political/cultural/economic primacy) will not cease until it reaches its logical conclusion. Whether I am correct or not, it would be prudent to prepare. I am however comfortable and confident in my assessment of what is occurring and probable approaching events. I hope that I am wrong but only time will reveal if I am correct or not.
“If they wipe Russia ,off the map’, how then will the thugs be able to exploit her afterwards?”
The answer in a nutshell, is by breaking it into many smaller weak states a la Brzezinski’s grand plan…
Since Mackinder, the Great Game has been centered on Eurasia, as “whoever controls Eurasia, controls the world”.
The West considers Russia’s ownership of its enormous land mass and resources to be “unfair”.
Under The Wolfowitz Doctrine, the prime Imperial Imperative has been to prevent “consolidated control” of Eurasia’s resources by any competing power.
The Eurasian Union brings the Empire to an existential moment. It either breaks the ability of any group of states on the Eurasian continent to join together, or it accepts a distant, and receding, 2nd place.
Russia leads the Eurasian movement politically & militarily, with China as the financier with military muscle of its own.
The Empire has the choice of one or the other as to where its hammer will fall first, but it has to bring that hammer down now, or accept decline and fall.
In fact, they chose Russia decades ago, when Nixon went to China to bring it onside.
China slipped out of their grasp, and under Xi is off and running. So did Russia under Putin. That they have joined, as accomplices if not (yet) allies, lends urgency to the Empire’s dire situation.
If Putin would come out today and present hard evidence that MH17 was shot down by Ukraine (possibly with CIA assistance) it would change the whole scenario in this propaganda and counter-propaganga war. The Westerm media would be unable to ignore it, because it comes from Putin. The EU politicians would not have a leg to stand in defending the ‘helpless victim’ of Ukraine against the evil and ambitious Russia.
It would be a game changer.
Russia is being effectively de-stabilized presently on the financial front, thanks to the international financial mafia and their ‘friends’ Atlanticists in Russia, so why wait? You tell the world that Russia is dealing with criminals, you show evidence and even the most politically retarded in Europe and America will start listening.
Rgds

Hi Saker
If I were a Russian speaker I certainly would volunteer. I am not ( I am fluent in a different, probably non-essential language ) so I will keep an eye on other ways to help.
That said, I doubt at this point that we will avoid war.
Under the circumstances though – that is the bloody war that I truly believe is inevitable will happen – the Russians will prove victorious.
Anyone who wants can think I’m crazy because no earthly logic supports such a conclusion at this time, but remember the words of St Kosmas Aitolos.
And keep a close eye on the turks
“If they wipe Russia ,off the map’, how then will the thugs be able to exploit her afterwards?”
well they have an agenda, to terminate as many slavic people as they can. this was true during octobar revolution and rule of lenin stalin, ww2,… etc.
an eye opener for me was the text about “ubermensch and untermensch” posted on this blog several months ago.
truly demonic souls rule this world.
Hi Saker,
I’m a romanian long-time user, poster and supporter of VR (Voice of Russia facebook media in romanian)and I want to tell how you are so right about the infiltration of the so-called ”fifth-column” in all level off official media, especially i’m talking about VR. For at least 1 year this official channel provide many subversive, manipulated and hidden antiregime (Putin) news….very few ”positive” ones and almost daily ” negative” ones (how to be sorted otherwise materials/news that are stating constantly the fall of rubla, the rush of the peoples to get foreign stores product from hipermarkets, negative impacts of the sanctions against Rusia, etc….????). It seeems the eurointegrationists are at full speed on this way…….it is expected from the VR to be the speaking-tube of the Kremlin leadership, not of the opponents !
This is a modified updated comment, and I want to make it known that I know very little with regards to Economics and Trade.
A large Producer of Oil could say that they will reduce Oil Production to push the Price of Oil up, if the other Oil Producing Countries will compensate that Country in some way or ways, such as using their Currency to buy Oil and in other International Trade, and to buy their Goods and Services and using that Country’s Banks for Loans.
A large Producer of Oil could say to the Countries that do not Produce Oil that they will increase Oil Production to keep the Price of Oil low to assist the Global Economic Recovery, if those Countries that do not Produce Oil will compensate that Country in some way or ways, such as using their Currency to buy Oil and in other International Trade, and to buy their Goods and Services and using that Country’s Banks for Loans.
Then that large Oil Producing Country can take the Best Regional Geo Political Deal, rather than the Best overall Monetary Deal.
There could be a Deal where that Large Oil Producing Country can help both some of the Oil Producing Countries, and some of the Countries that do not Produce Oil, in order help more Countries, and while it is an Advantage to have Natural Resources, but any Sensible Country will not be totally reliant on them, but have a Diversified Economy.
We know that Puppet Bulgaria, who Must bend the Knee to Anglo-America and to Nazi Germany said that Bulgaria has no intention of abandoning the South Stream Project.
What this Coded Language of Lies Really means is that Anglo-America and North Western European Union have no intentions to make Russia look like an Honest Business Partner, because Russia has signed a Deal with Turkey, and Bulgaria and other European Countries will able to receive Gas by means of that Pipeline.
Anglo-America and North Western European Union want to waste more of Russia’s time so that the South Eastern European Union, which Germany and others in the North Western European Union refer to as the Blacks are further Disadvantaged to benefit the White Supremacist Master Races of North Western European Union.
The European Union Only wants an Independent Kosovo, and after that, Serbia will not be making any ‘Progress’ toward the European Union.
The next Condition will be that Serbia joins NATO, and then there are Liars with smooth words and False Friends (Real Enemies) like Croatia, Germany, and an Independent Kosovo that will want Serbs at The Hague and Unjustified Compensation, before Serbia is given another False Promise of making ‘Progress’ toward joining the European Union.
If Serbia gives up Kosovo, then Serbia will give up Serbia, and this is why Serbia Must be Patient if it really wants to join the Nazi European.
Serbia should Insist on Amending the Brussels Agreement to make it Fairer on Serbia, and to leave that Chapter 35 which deals with Kosovo for last, and there should be no terms or conditions for Serbia beginning a Negotiating Chapter with the European Union.
There is one Thing that Serbia should know, and that is that you simply cannot trust the European Union, and those Associated with the European Union.
We have a statement which suggests that the Continental European Union will gradually become Civilized, and in this way, Serbia will be able to gradually harmonize policies with Continental European Union, even if Serbia is not a Member of the European Union.
We know that the Albanians of Serbia’s Province of Kosovo have not as yet Revoked their unilateral declaration of independence, and this means that the Kosovo Albanians do not want to join the European Union, and if the Kosovo Albanians do not want to join the European Union as part of their European Country of Serbia, then Serbia should Definitely Not want to join the European Union either.
I am sorry, dear Saker, but we cannot “turn the world upside down”, so to speak…
Sadly, nothing will help in the face of the totally (I dare say) *moronic* conduct of the Russian leadership… :-(
An average person from the West could do better, I am afraid.
And there is only so much before people “wear off” and became tired of going against the tide…
The Russian leadership acts in a totally incompetent way, (I dare say) even childish!
As for the economic war… I am reluctantly inclined to say that “it serves them right”… they had in coming, after all.
They provoked the West to start the economic war against Russia.
There was a pretext for such a war against Russia, but the Russian leadership basically concurred with it. The following silence of the Russian leadership worked almost like an invitation.
All Russia could muster up in response to the allegation of the West were laconic remarks at best… Sorry, but this is not how a diplomatic war should be conducted, especially not when it is in full swing!
When you are the accused, you cannot act as an impartial observer…!
So… in effect, Russia did not do anything to prevent the “sanctions”. That is the net result.
That it not to say that those “sanctions” work (or not), it means that Russia almost invited them, as Russia did nothing to prevent them, thus Russia lost this (propaganda) battle and provided the West with even more incentives to continue waging (whatever) war on Russia.
Now, Russian (self-)piteous statements do nothing to change the situation; rather, it is quite the opposite, it serves as a vindication for the West to continue such policies and enforce Western propaganda stereotypes.
The Russian leadership fatally mishandled the situation from the very beginning! Their stupid moves only strengthened and compacted the West!
Russia tried to engage and hold talks with the U.S.A. That was a completely foolish move. Predictably, Russia was brushed aside.
Instead, Russia should have talked to the EU, Russia should have concentrated on creating cracks within the EU, as they would later spread to the whole transatlantic bunch. Russia was presented with the perfect opportunity to crack it up, perhaps even to tear the EU and the U.S.A. asunder, or at least to create threatening tensions within the EU and render it “toothless”…
Unfortunately, Russia botched it beyond belief, compacted the EU and the U.S.A. and set them on a collision course with Russia!
(Just an example: if the so-called Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership was only a distant idea faced with a lot of opposition, now it is treated almost as a done deal, where “some disagreements *must* be smoothed out”.)
Russia should have concentrated on countries which on the “periphery” of the transatlantic block, such as Slovakia… or perhaps Hungary.
Even a single veto, from a single country, would block the EU sanctions and it would simultaneously score a major victory for Russia.
I dare say that it would either end the war outright, or at least stopped its escalation.
Of course, there would have been a lot of brawl and it would create a lot of tensions within the EU and its bloody details, the bloody guts of the monster would start to come out and the repulsive sight of the EU stooges and minions would be revealed to the voters… which would awake them and create a major embarrasment to the EU henchmen and henchwoman :-D of the EU.
Russia could have even attempted to create an anti-transatlantic “maidan” in those countries…
For example, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico declared that those sanctions (enacted by the EU) will not affect Slovakia. If Russia had responded in a credible way, it would have threatened the import of cars from the EU. This would have caused a loss of 7000 – 10000 jobs in Slovakia. And would be a wake up call to the slimy PM Robert Fico (who was declaiming the sanctions for weeks, but then had them signed among the first).
Russia ought to have stunned the Western politicians, Russia ought to have ashamed them. Russia ought to have sponsored personal attacks on Angela Merkel for harming her country economically by promoting the geopolitical interests of the U.S.A. above German national, political and economic interests, suggesting that she were blackmailed by the U.S.A. and unfit to rule (as a result of the eavesdropping scandal), giving a reason why she acted as if she were “out of her mind”…
But first and foremost… But first and foremost—Russia should have noted that those Western countries (naming them out) which bombed Yugoslavia and then recognized “Kosovo” have no right to lecture Russia “on the breaching of international law”; Russia should have pointed out that if Russia were to act according to the Western norms and Western observation of the international law, it would now have the right to bomb all of Ukraine based on humanitarian reasons, pointing out the hundreds of thousands refugees, which served as one officially sanctioned pretexts for Western bombing of Yugoslavia.
Russia should stress that the NATO countries bombed Yugoslavia in grave violation of international law.
Russia should come up with gory details and pictures of the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine and confron them with it: “these are your values, this is what you support”).
And if there were a place for laconic remarks, then only in the form that Russia will need to reevaluate its relations with the … (insert the appropriate country name(s)) for turning a blind eye to war crimes and supporting the butchers of Kiev massacring their fellow citizens for their desire to be free and independent of such policies.
Unfortunately, Russia miserable failed in all of this… :-(
Perhaps a more effective strategy would be to encourage undermining the opponents where they are through various tools not restricted to information, given some’s contention that the opponents can waylay their populations by “propaganda”.
This would engage whilst simultaneously laterally transcending your definition of action, which is presently tending more towards the passive, whilst giving the impression of being engaged in action.
As can be illustrated relatively consistently the prior attempts at strategy formulation through this blog have been woeful.
Your contention that,”We all know that Russians are experts are shooting, adequate at finances and absolutely terrible at public relations.” is not only self-serving but incorrect.
Well… that was rather wordy, I admit… but I merely meant to say that we cannot do much, when the Russian leadership acts so clumsily and throws away almost every opportunity…!
We cannot take it any more… nor can we put up with so much incompetence.
What could have been a perfect opportunity to pull up the mirror and confront the West with its own policies especially in the mass-media sphere… and stop any “liberal Western interventionism” once and for all… Russia (through the inaction of the Russian leadership) molded it into a ridiculous narrative that “Kosovo was completely different” and all that…
Well, we could act… and you suggest that we should do it pro bono… however, scarcely anybody will fight a battle for someone who is unwilling to defend oneself and eventually throws away all opportunities for a breakthrough…
Beyond inane sloganeering about democracy and human rights, more sophisticated Western strategists can cite new iterations of Halford Mackinder’s Heartland thesis or the latest Eurasian pipeline maneuvers as reasons to “contain” Russia. None of this accounts for a cosmopolitan oligarchy that sets policy, subsidizes scholarship, and manufactures consent in pursuit of its totalitarian agenda.
Of course it accounts for it. That cosmopolitain oligarchy uses propaganda (such as ‘human rights’) in order to pursue a strategy of dominating the resources of the Eurasian landmass, and with it, the world.
“So far this war has been a 1% shooting war, 30% financial war and 69% information war. But what is crucial is this: these ratios can change.”
1. What data, collection techniques, testing criteria and testing methodologies have been used to arrive at these numbers.
2. Since percentages are functions of a base expressed in sub-divisions of 100, what is your base including its size?
3. Since these “percentages” are subject to change, what interactive factors will facilitate change, and how does a request for translators encourage this facilitation?
I wrote in my other comment that how low Oil Price could help the Global Economic Recovery.
We know that I am no expert on Economics, but if the World’s Economy does Recover, then the Price of Oil will increase, and with that will increase the Capacity of Countries to pay the increased prices.
What this means is that Countries who want a better Economy, should have an Economic Plan from their own Unbiased Experts, and which is suited to their own Country, because each Country is different in many ways.
However, I think that they might need to run a Temporary Budget Deficit for 2 years, and the Economy needs a combination of Genuine Socialism and Free Enterprise, which is not Vulture Capitalism.
This means that each Country should have their own Central Bank, and issue its own Currency at no interest to the Government, but this may be problematic for the Eurozone Countries.
It could even have something like the American Greenback, and it could possibly have new Bank Notes to prevent Counterfeiting by Enemies who want to cause Inflation.
These new Bank Notes would be the more secure Plastic Notes that can possibly be scanned by a machine to see that they were manufactured by the Mint if that Country.
This Socialism would not allow for lazy workers, or a right to job as it was in the Soviet Union, and it would not allow for any corrupt or incompetent managers.
The Government would Nationalize strategic Industries, and they would let Individuals run small to medium businesses, and even those large businesses that the Government does not consider as strategic Industries.
Vulture Capitalism cannot provide the Basic Human Right of jobs for Workers, and so the Economy needs the Reforms, which consists of proper combination of Free Enterprise and Socialism.
I think that going trading short on Stocks or Business or Currencies must not be allowed, and I think this applies at least with many Financial Derivatives.
I think that all International Trading should be allowed to take place in any Currency that People want, so that they is No Currency Dictatorship, but Currency Democracy.
There is something that I should have mentioned with regards to Serbia and Kosovo, and that the Serb Republic of Bosnia Herzegovina.
I should have said that if Serbia gave Kosovo away, then Serbia would be giving Serbia away and it would be giving away the Serb Republic of Bosnia Herzegovina.
I think that Asia is where the Global Economic Recovery could begin, and each Country should do what is needed for their Economies.
“We all know that Russians are experts are shooting, adequate at finances and absolutely terrible at public relations. I would argue that the volunteer blogosphere has done much more to explain the Russian point of view than the entire state-funded Russian media.”
Agreed, 200%!
At an absolute crucial time they shut down Voice of Russia, which they linked to Ria Novosti, granted not the best of sites in its old format, only to replace it shortly after with this new ‘funky’ Sputnik (more tablet and smart phone friendly, I suppose) but with much less content than the old site. What in the world are these people thinking?
And then there’s RT International, who in my opinion are totally asleep at the wheel, with the exception of Cross Talk, the only program that is really throwing its weight around on all things Russian and the Ukraine situation.
And what is with this endless broadcasts (almost daily) of Breaking the Set? A ghastly program with an intolerable presenter, always looking inwards at all things American, as if we don’t hear enough about them as it is. For the last week or so they’ve been repeating documentaries already aired earlier in the year, and then they go all Breaking News Live (for hours) about the siege situation in Australia, when I don’t remember them doing the same with last year bombings at a Russian rail way terminal.
“If the Russians knew anything at all about PR they would hire a firm with the sole task of translating this kind of material into Russian.”
This might be a mistake, but according to Peter Lavelle they do translate all (or close to all) articles in English to Russian, so I guess here you’re proposing a similar system but from Russian into English. If that’s what you meant originally, I’m all for it of course! Just imagine the time it would save to get the word out quicker!

Oh I do not know Russian but here I am ( on line again; ampere stricks back! ) for what could be helpful.
Missing you so, Saker, and you all guys and friends! Love you all, you know!
No holidays in a state of war!
Wery worried these days listening to the news on the ruble, and without connection.
Thinking the same as you, Saker, that if Russia falls we are lost.
If I ever have to see someone like Khodorkovskyi in charge of Russia I exile in ISS.
