Since the US denies responsibility for this — “55 miles away” — then it should have no problem with Syrians shooting down the planes which attack it. Time to get anti-aircraft missiles in place everywhere for self-defense.
I was thinking the exact same. Since they deny it was their planes then they won’t be upset when Syria shoots down the “unknown intruders”. If they do turn out to be US planes. Syria can always say,”what,I thought you said they weren’t your planes”.
And if the turn out to be US Syrians can also say ‘we were being attacked and self-defense is perfectly reasonable and illegal — why were you attacking and killing us — when we were fighting the terrorists?’ It’s important to shoot down the attacking planes not just in defense but to establish who the terrorists and supportes really are.
Of course, with proper satelite and radar monitoring it should be easy enough to find out where that plane came from and where it went after the attack — and I wonder who has that information, assuming it exists, and what will be done with it. It’s not like planes suddenly materialize from nowhere.
Yes,I have no doubt that Russia at least knows the truth there. Why they aren’t saying? No realistic answer to that fits with the way I want to feel about Russia. So I’ll not comment on that.
I am wondering if this attack was also an attempt (successful) in trying to figure the “power” of the S-400, or whether Syria/Russia really intend to use it fully.

That could be (the quote I mean). As far as the legality, yes,I’ve heard about that before. Of course legality means nothing to the West. Unless they can use it to further their own interests. But for “history” and for Russia and the former Ukraine it could/should mean a lot. It would mean the borders are not set in stone. And the people should get to decide the allegiance of their homeland regions. But like any other time in history. The peoples right’s only goes as far as their “strong hands” can enforce those right’s.
ANKARA, December 7 /TASS/. The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Monday received explanations from Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov over an incident involving a Russian sailor who allegedly held a man-portable air defense system on his shoulder when his warship was sailing through the Bosphorus, a diplomatic source said.
The ministry expressed the hope that no such incidents, which contradicted the letter and spirit of international laws and the Montreux Convention, would recur in future. The source also said that the Russian side had promised to convey in full measure the official stance of the Turkish Foreign Ministry to the Russian agencies concerned.

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The strengthening of Turkey’s air defense by NATO may hinder the establishment of an antiterrorist coalition, Russian Ambassador to NATO Alexander Grushko said on Monday during the Moscow-Brussels video conference.
“We are not certain that these measures [aimed at reinforcing Turkish air defense forces] will strictly correspond to the task of neutralising possible challenges from terrorist organisations,” Grushko said. “If by the NATO efforts Turkey tries to contain Russia, this will be an obstacle to the establishment of an international coalition against terrorism.”
In the face of fierce protests from the Iraqi government and the international community, Turkey is refusing to withdraw troops from northern Iraq.
Over the weekend, Ankara deployed approximately 600 additional troops to a camp in Iraq’s Ninevah province, close to the city of Mosul.
“It is our duty to provide security for our soldiers providing training there,” Turkish foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, told Kanal 24. “Everybody is present in Iraq…The goal of all of them is clear. Train-and-equip advisory support is being provided. Our presence there is not a secret.”
But the Iraqi government, viewing the move as a clear breach of sovereignty, condemned the action, and gave Turkey 48 hours to remove its troops.
Iran’s Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaie said earlier that Tehran was ready to provide Ankara with necessary information regarding Daesh oil trade with Turkey.
“Iranian military advisors in Syria have taken photos and filmed all the routes used by ISIL’s oil tankers to Turkey. If the Turkish authorities are unaware of the Daesh oil sales in their country, then we can provide them with such intelligence,” Rezaie told reporters on Friday.

If Iran had come in force in October & the supply line cut, victory wd’ve been prompt. What was Iran waiting for?
“Russians seek coordination with Iran in measures against terrorist groups. The Russians at times had had a different standpoint but they reached a common stance with Iran after consultation” with the Islamic Republic, Velayati said in a live televised interview on Saturday. [12/5] NOW they will come in.
Are we just watching a play? Or is there another explanation of why Iran didn’t come in, in force? Syria is her strategic defense, her shiite crescent, her everything. She activated her militias, sent advisors, a few thousand troops or spec’l forces when Palmyra fell. Why did she not commit her army?
There is a quote from Napoleon about how he found fighting an alliance instead of one enemy to be a great relief as an alliance has very different goals. Russia and Iran have to work things out – such as, their position on the Kurds. Next, without Russian bombing, it would have been very hard for anybody to break through the defenses of the insurgents. And that bombing took a month or so before it really took that much of a toll, at least in Eastern Syria. Billions of dollars had been spent on creating a serious army and infrastructure, as well as Western or Israeli technological goodies. Then add in that the insurgents had had a long time to build their defenses. Could the Iranian army just get anywhere quickly? Maybe the Iranians tried the brute force approach and that is why so many Generals were killed in fighting. Besides, it would take a long time to get all the other elements there, such as artillery and helicopters. Maybe now the preparations have been done.
Your doubts about the Iranians taking so long could also be leveled at the Russians. They waited till the enemies of Syria had taken over a large part of the country and built lots of fortifications. Why did they wait so long? It may not be possible to regain all of Syria at this point. Or maybe they are slow to come around to understanding the meaning of the English saying that “possession is 90% of the law”. And now the empire possesses most of Eastern Europe, besides Turkey and half of Syria.
Probably a big problem is that the Russians and Iranians couldn’t trust the Syrian troops or civilians. Pay a bribe, and bad things would happen. Many argue that an older Russian S-300 was lost due to incompetence or bribery early in the war. Don’t know if that is true, but it is true that nobody can rely on some militia to actually guard a road or whatever. The West has a huge budget for bribery.
Iran can not do anything until sanctions are lifted. Are we forgetting history?
Russia was also under attack last year and their economy only stabilized a few months ago. We want Russia to move faster and they bought like 10 ships to move supplies but it still is not enough. They just dont have logistics to move massive amounts of equipment by sea or air. Russia’s defensive posture makes use of bunker systems to use in case of invasion. An year ago we never even imagined Russia would be able to project any power outside Russia let alone doing rather good too. Russia also only have like 5 S400’s, 2 of them will be in syria. Many of the military equipment are just being delivered. Only like 30 SU34’s.. To take on nato, they need the new stuff in Syria.. The old stuff just wont do so far from home when nato uses ECM and their latest weapons to arm terrorists.
TEHRAN (FNA)- The European Union and its member states must prepare for the possibility of a chemical or biological attack on their territory by Daesh, also known as the Islamic State terrorist group, according to an analytical report prepared for the European Parliament.
The terror organization, also known as Daesh (also known as ISIL), “may be planning to try to use internationally banned weapons of mass destruction in future attacks” according to the European Parliament document compiled by its political analyst Beatrix Immenkamp in the wake of last month’s Paris attacks, Sputnik reported.
The Syrian Civil War is a place of cruel realities and western illusions. The only moderate force on the ground is the Syrian Arab Army – fighting for Syria’s sovereign survival. I think it is time for everyone to watch Dr. Strangelove again. And when you get to the bit at the beginning where the USAF states that the following ‘doomsday’ scenario couldn’t possibly happen, remember that it was only recently revealed that those extra ‘safety codes’ were simplified by the US generals in charge of the ballistic missiles to 8 zeroes.
President Carter sent the launch codes to the dry cleaners in his trousers. I think another president lost the codes for a couple of months too. It gets worse -missile bunker personnel cheating on competency tests and suffering alcoholism and depression.
How could you create parody on all this when it already is one?
Pablo Iglesias, candidate of Podemos, has said in the debate in prime time among the four best positioned candidates for the next election on 20th December ( well, one of the candidates, President Rajoy, has gone to El Coto de Doñana and instead has sent the vice president Soraya Saenz de Santamaria ) that before a request for cooperation from Hollande, if he was president of the Spanish government “would not send troops or bombers to Syria because that does not solve anything”
I hope to keep his word. All the analysts have said he won the debate.
This attack could not have been an accident.. Here is a ground reality check from pro-terrorist outfits.. Russia immediately attacked the IS offensive after the base was bombed.. The US is blaming the Russians even though Russia has not used air to surface missiles. That would be the UK and US. A single plane attacking is plausible.. 3 or 4 attacking multiple targets inside a well known base that is the only SAA base in the middle of nowhere is deliberate. If nothing else the airport runway part of the base is a huge giveaway that can not be missed.
The base is part of a swath of regime-controlled territory, including northern neighborhoods of Deir e-Zor city itself as well as the military airport to the city’s south, currently surrounded by areas of IS control.
By all accounts, it appears that someone’s planes hit al-Ayash on Sunday. Local opposition media campaign Deir e-Zor is Being Silently Slaughtered reported that “coalition planes bombed the regime’s al-Saeqa base near al-Ayash,” while the pro-regime news outlet al-Sahel Alan reported that “American planes had bombed a Syrian army base in Deir e-Zor” noting the loss of life, two tanks, and two ammunition depots.
“Our correspondents in Deir e-Zor observed three planes carrying out the bombing,” Ali Layli, the director of the pro-opposition Deir e-Zor 24 news site, which maintains a network of correspondents inside the province, tells Syria Direct’s Mohammed al-Haj Ali. Layli says he suspects that the bombing was a “mistake” on the coalition’s part.
Our correspondents in Deir e-Zor observed three planes carrying out the bombing, which occurred on the outskirts of the military base, hitting one of its barracks. Most pro-regime news sources have reported that three soldiers were killed and others injured. This is the information that has been verified 100 percent so far.
There is another theory that says the base is four kilometers away from any IS-controlled area, so how could it be a mistake? The picture still isn’t 100 percent clear.
The targets were a barracks and ammunition depots.
“On Monday, Syria said its army camp was targeted by an airstrike from the US-led coalition. In response to the allegations, Washington deployed an all-too-familiar tactic: blame Russia.”
The quislings running israel’s pindo colony are beyond gay.
The bombing could have been Turkish… Since it was coordinated with the IS offenseive. It took place before IS attacked the base and the confusing situation inside the base.
Four air Jets entered from al-bu Kamal #Iraq, claim #Damascus, and fired 9 missiles against al-Saeqa military base in Ay’yash #SAA position+
Russia monitoring the Syrian airspace and #Damascus both don’t understand d reason behind d attack against #SAA in #Deir-ezzour as claimed.
The air strikes hit tanks and armed vehicles inside the military fortification that observed a few hours before (not after) an #ISIS attack
ISIS confirmed Coalition airstrikes against #SAA in Ay’ash despite coalition denial.
Is there no video evidence of the planes bombing the base? Im surprised if there is not, because its seems that everything else in this war is on video.
Just saw a snapshot of the US release saying they tracked a bunch of TU22’s over the Caspian and then flew over Iraq and Syria and they confirm the bombing within a minute of the planes overhead.. I did not know the TU22’s carried missiles.. But this could also be that after the bombing and IS attacks, Russia rushed in to prevent the terrorists from breaking into the base. There was intense bombing there.. So the US could have been talking about after the US bombing of the base as being what happened.. Obfuscation of facts.. Could it have been an errant Russian bomb? Yea but then why would Syria bring it up with the UN.. Both Russia and Syria says the planes came across Iraq.. Would be the flight path the TU22’s took.. Very strange.. Possibility of a mistake is there.. Unless the US was tracking the TU22’s and attacked the base on a similar route to make it look like it was the Russians.. Just like the ambush setup for the SU24’s.. Russia scrambled fighters and already intercepted Turkish jets inside Syrian air space but that was far from this area.. Russia needs to say something.. Would look silly to bring this up with the UN and then have no proof..
“Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” on Monday. Reactions ranged from outrage to speechlessness.
Additionally, Trump clarified that even American Muslims abroad would fall under his proposed plan. When The Hill asked whether Muslim-Americans would be included, Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks replied by email, “Mr. Trump says, ‘everyone’.”
This is the sort of right wing fascist stuff which has been building for quite a while, with a takeover of much of the meda by hte ‘1%’ and many of them right wing neonazi crazies. Trump is not an isolated case, and they have gaining traction — which does much to explain why the US is out to take over the world and starting wars all over. There is a large part of the people in the US who are actually like this.
This is new,US to take tougher stand against Russia and Iran for invading Syria.. But nana a peep from turkey opening invading Iraq… Kerry again said, Russia open to Assad leaving tomorrow.. Lavrov just smirked.. ya r8e.. Nothing about Turkey violating Syrian air space every chance they get.. or trying to intercept a Russian TU160 in international waters..
3rd Phase of the Southern Aleppo Offensive Begins: Aleppo-Damascus Highway is the Objective
Earlier this morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City – kicked-off their 3rd phase of this southern Aleppo offensive, launching several attacks on the Islamist-held villages of Burnah, ICARDA Farms, Khan Touman, Al-Zorba, and Al-Qarassi.
The primary objective of this 3rd phase is to officially cutoff the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jaysh Al-Islam, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham from their strategic supply route alone the Aleppo-Damascus Highway (M-5 Highway), which ultimately leads to the provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate.
If successful, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies will prepare for the 4th phase of this southern Aleppo offensive, which includes their reentry into the Idlib Governorate after being forced to withdraw due to Jaysh Al-Fateh’s (Army of Conquest) massive offensive this past summer.

Thanks for your thoughts Paul II. I interpreted Velayati’s comment to mean that the Russians hadn’t wanted the Iranian army to come in, in force.

Ticking Time Bomb: Daesh Set to Use Weapons of Mass Destruction in Europe
TEHRAN (FNA)- The European Union and its member states must prepare for the possibility of a chemical or biological attack on their territory by Daesh, also known as the Islamic State terrorist group, according to an analytical report prepared for the European Parliament.
The terror organization, also known as Daesh (also known as ISIL), “may be planning to try to use internationally banned weapons of mass destruction in future attacks” according to the European Parliament document compiled by its political analyst Beatrix Immenkamp in the wake of last month’s Paris attacks, Sputnik reported.

CrossTalk: Syria’s Wheel of Fortune
Published on Dec 7, 2015
The Syrian Civil War is a place of cruel realities and western illusions. The only moderate force on the ground is the Syrian Arab Army – fighting for Syria’s sovereign survival. This is unacceptable to the Washington Consensus. For the sake of false pride, is Washington willing to destroy everything in its path?..

Ha,ha,ha! Erdogan Junior’s pad overlooks that narrow strait so personally I’d assemble the ship’s company line abreast and give them the mass broadside mooning that they richly deserve.
It’s regrettable, but I’d never make a diplomat.
it gets more and more ridiculous. It’s like someone punches you and then if you object, start blaming the fact that you are complaining. I dont know what this world is coming to, I only remember this saying “The Gods will first make insane those they wish to destroy”….
Your point is precisely correct. How dare you use your chest to break my fingers!

US Blames Russia After Syria Slams Airstrike on Government Forces

And speaking of gay (well, zio-gay, in this specific case*):
‘Total, complete shutdown’: Trump promises ban on Muslim immigration to US
