Why the Russian intervention in Syria may proved to be a well-set Western trap
http://bit.ly/1OyUdLv
Its an interesting article. But I don’t see a couple of their points as accurate. It will be a long drawn out mess in Syria I’m afraid. But if Putin is able to build his Syrian,Iraqi,Iranian alliance that it appears he wants. It can be won pretty thoroughly. With Russia mostly just providing equipment and air-power.As to Belarus,I think the West may misjudge Lukashenko. A maidan style uprising there wouldn’t have the support that it did in Ukraine. And Lukashenko has a totally different personality than Yanukovich. He would tell the West to put their “advise” where the “sun don’t shine” and crush the revolt without mercy. And if its serious then he would ask for Russian troops (volunteers would flock to help him as they do in Ukraine).I’m not sure the West got the message about no more color revolutions going to happen in the near abroad. But once their “shock troops” get a one way ticket to the boneyard at the start. They might get that message. The large number of Russian posters I see and talk to,are united on one point. No more color revolutions, even if it means war to stop them.
Thank you. Good point. From the article:
“On the other hand, Putin’s effectiveness in Syria may turn against the US plans. In case that Russian troops together with the Syrian army and the other allies, manage to ‘clean’ Syria and Iraq from Jihadists through a fast and massive operation, Putin will gain plenty of points in the international community, while the West will appear unreliable. This will be a significant defeat for the Western bloc in the new Cold War.”
Unclear what US is doing in Syria – Lavrov
-It is unclear what the US is doing in Syria and why the results of its actions are so insignificant, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told NTV. “We have very few specifics which could explain what the US is exactly doing in Syria and why the results of so many combat sorties are so insignificant,” he said. “With 25,000 sorties one can blow out the whole Syria,” he added. Russia launched its anti-IS military operation in Syria on September 30, at the request of the Syrian government.-

Don’t really rate that ‘system failure’ analysis.
1. Putin’s Syrian intervention is part of a long-term commitment to stabilizing the region. The bulk of strategy is diplomatic/political. The military intervention is highly tactical, and well-coordinated with accurate intelligence, constantly updated.
2. Putin will never put Russian ‘boots on the ground> unilaterally – they will be part of a CSTO decision should it happen at all. He has said so. He has no intention of getting into an Afghanistan type scenario.
3.Nor is the Syrian intervention contextually the same, as this ‘analyst’ implies. It doesn’t even work as analogy, nevermind the ridiculous assumption of ‘redux.’
4. To this end the Russians are in Bagdhad too.
And they have something that the Americans don’t – mission – clarity, both strategically and tactically. All components of Russian operations are on the same page.
5. I am speculating here, but I think detect a rift between the Pentagon and the CIA. Yes, the neo-cons have infested institutions at all levels. Yes, the CIA has always been essentially a globalist operation working for wherever the locus of wealth-control exists – Bilderburgers basically. It is not operating on behalf of US interests in general, anymore than than ISIL does for Muslims.
Yet the Pentagon has historically gone along with it, using the ‘intelligence’ supplied to launch conflicts.
But now, the abandonment of the 500million ‘rebel’ initiative in Syria and the creation of yet another CIA ‘rebel’ coalition ((two, in fact – one Syrian Kurdish and the other Syrian Arab – led) must be causing even the die-hard Pentagon Zionists some bewilderment. (Presumably the CIA believes it can mould these hetergenous groups into political cohesion and control. That’s not working out so well in Iraq..why would it work in Syria?)
* * * *
Pentagon thoughts….
(“Just why are we accepting this ‘intelligence’ and allowing it to dictate US military involvement? Are these Bilderburgers not just using us to impoverish the US? Oil prices – despite the chaos – are low, not high. And shale is taking a hammering. WTF?
Now we’ve got the f**k up in Kunduz – whose fault was that? And the Taliban are on the upsurge..
And is it the Iranians who are the real crazies? Those Israel-firsters have given us gay ‘marriage’ , tranny generals, the abolition of DADT, our troops a laughing-stock in red high-heels…and we’re pursuing a Middle East policy to aid their real-estate ambitions in Palestine/Syria/Iraq?
The same guys that stole our nuke blueprints and attacked the SS Liberty?
We are supposed to be working for God and America – not freakin’ Caligula. (And anyway, shouldn’t Rockefeller be decently buried, stake-through-the heart by now?)
Jeez. What are we, nuts?”)
If Trump promises a radical overhaul of US foreign policy (or Sanders) he might find some unexpected allies in that quarter. And even the CIA itself.
* * * *
Meanwhile, the Syrian Kurds are being cast as ‘rebels’ – but to what extent the general Syrian Kurd population agrees is unknown. Nor is it at all clear they are so well ‘vetted’ by the CIA that they are reliably anti-Assad – al-Nusra are still sniggering from the last defection..
http://ekurd.net/us-line-protecting-syrian-rebels-2015-10-14
Some unease too from Amnesty (a Dod front) as Kurdish militias are accused of civilian atrocities…
Perhaps because they may very well gravitate towards Russia?
And, if you were Kurdish, who would you trust as ‘honest broker’ between Turkey and Kurdish aspirations – Russia or the US?
Just look at the Balkans.
And Iraq.
Yea that’s always plan #1.. But Syria is not Afghanistan. Only a few ways to get into the country. Once they follow the supply lines and disrupt it, the terrorists will go back to living in tents. They wont be defeated but they wont be the force they are now with foreign supply of arms. Before the US would just air drop supplies to them, now if you noticed, they had armed escorts to transport them. Also with the SAA and Kurds on both sides, those supply drops would have a good chance of getting bombed by the RuAF or the SAF. The SAF has been keeping a very low profile as both Israel and Turkey would shoot them down if they were anywhere close to the SAM’s range. The mountain of Afghanistan made that impossible. The trap would be Russia would be in Syria like the US is in south korea. Just so Turkey, Jordan and Israel wont get uppity and start bombing the Syrian army. Jordan especially has to be careful and why some people are giving money to the Palestinians so they would over look jordans part in destroying Syria, both countries have large Palestinian population.
The basic pre conditions focused by this article are a kind of wishful thinking from analysts strictly tied to a mind set of the empire´s hubris and exceptionality…
Of course a man like Putin, a conservative politician with a high quality team around him has measured and weighed all those variables in antecipation.,
Russia has all the experience of its own in the 20th century… and has all the entire fiasco experience of the US, aside from its own in afghanistan.
Putin will employ all political, military and diplomatic plus economic means to win in Syria. Victory here means simply re establish Assad in damascus thouth with concessions to opposition. And provided russia remain in Latakia air base for the next 20 years.
Om the one hand, this is what the US & its allies are possibly planning to do.
What will Russia do in response? Especially if manpads are provided to the jihadist mercenaries in Syria?
How about providing the Houthis/PKK/Hezbollah with something similar in response?
This almost looks now this late to make Jim Stone’s initial report within 48 hours of the true events of the Sep 24 crush ring true, as wild as it seemed at the time.

Iran’s Velayati: Terrorists from over 80 Countries Operating in Region
October 13, 2015 – 17:22
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati censured foreign-backed militancy in some war-stricken countries in the Middle East, saying that terrorists from more than 80 countries are operating in the region.
A large number of terrorists from various nationalities are active in regional countries and fighting against legitimate governments, Velayati said in a meeting with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Jan Eliasson in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Tuesday
What a convoluted mess!

i have just been reading some of the MH17 report. I was hoping that even if evidence was omitted, they would not resort to lying.
On page 126/127 they state there were no military aircraft within 30km at this time of the crash.
Eye witness reports in the weeks after could be ignored.
But the BBC video which was one of the first interviews of a local after the crash, who stated there was a military aircarft there should not be ignored. Also the video released by Murdoch just recently of those first on the scene also recorded that a military aircraft was there.
And then there is the Russian MoD report with their radar coverage.
That five or six countries will together resort to lying about this rather than just omitting some evidence is truly disgusting.
Ezekiel 38 and 39 war on the verge. Read it.
The Americans announce their aircraft will keep at least 20 miles away from Russian aircraft. Also, and more importantly, if American aircraft are carrying out an attack and Russia aircraft are detected in the area, US forces are under orders to end the op and clear out of the area. This sounds like the pindos are being reasonable (finally), but I suspect the main reason for the latter rules about ending any U.S. op if Russians are detected has more to do with preventing the Russians seeing American support for the terrorists in action.

Likely the 1st pindostani shipment of man pads to their al cicada/idol proxies was in that airdrop. The Russians can obviously detect any American supply op, such as that large 50 ton job, or any much smaller, so an obvious counter would be to attack the airdrop site as soon as the Ameroscum leave.
Hi South Front, that was a great documentary. Sorry to hear about all your damn troubles. Were your computers hacked ?
Two interesting stories out:
British Daily Express Poll shows 71% in favor of Russia’s bombing of terrorists in Syria.

Good article on RI from a Russian journalist.I especially like his comment at the end of number 2:
No sooner had the dust settled after the first strikes against terrorists in Syria, it became clear that:
1. The Syrian army will provide Russia with the identities of killed ISIS fighters, to the extent that this is possible. These notices will contain the names of people who joined ISIS out of zealotry, greed or stupidity. At least 4000 ISIS troops come from countries of the former Soviet Union.
2. Our opponents will go above and beyond their usual efforts to “prove” that we are bombing the wrong people and that we are “bombing civilians or moderate opposition”. What do we have to say to that? – With all due respect ladies and gentlemen, piss off!
3. Assessing the validity of the oxymoron “military positions of the moderate opposition” will now be the responsibility of the Russian armed forces, who will gladly take over the task from the chattering classes.
4. Projecting power with our armed forces beyond our borders is from now on going to be a daily reality for Russian foreign policy, joining that other pillar of Russian power, our nuclear deterrent. This is not very pretty, but that’s the world we live in today.
5. People can argue about the legality of Russia’s action in Crimea, but in Syria we are acting in the strictest possible compliance with international law. This returns Russia to the moral high ground. Claims about “Assad’s tyranny” have become meaningless because he is fighting (with the support of our Air Force and Iran which is in a new phase of cooperation and raprochement with the West) against those who decapitate Christians and other ordinary civilians.
6. Boneheaded John McCain, who seemingly didn’t get enough war during his Vietnam captivity era, is now bawling that the US has lost the initiative. You had the place to yourself for three years! What the hell were you doing all this time, playing footsie?
7. Amidst all the developments in Syria, Poroshenko (who at the UN was hanging on to Obama for dear life, while Obama spitefully reproached him with: “Well, Petro, when are you going to invite me to your Crimean resort?”) is now in a serious jam. I doubt the recent increase in the sales of his chocolate company will be enough to compensate the bitterness of the rest of his life. As Alexander Lukashenko (the president of Belarus) pointed out in his speech to the UN, “God sees it all”.
8. Russia is waging a pre-emptive war in Syria. It’s about time!
9. Guys, be careful, and fly with the angels!

If anyone missed the interview of the Syrian ambassador to the UN, here is a great read on just ho impartial the UN really is.. he is one of the prevailed to have his mic stop working in the middle of his speeches, where his chair only has 3 legs and he is not allowed to leave the UN compound.

Thanks nor that excellent link. The Syria ambassador has a thankless task yet demonstrates grace under pressure.
I wonder if the French claim to have thousands of photos from a Syrian photographer proving Assad’s ‘atrocities’ is a response to this exhibition?
Indeed, I wonder if they have appropriated work from this same source to doctor/distort for their political agenda?
The French form on this kind of skulldudgery.
I hope the exhibition photographer is safe.
some might wonder why those outside MSM news junkies support assad.. This is why..
The high participation rate (73%) in June’s presidential elections, despite the war, was at least as significant as the strong vote (88%) Bashar received. Even the BBC could not hide the large crowds that came out to vote, especially those that mobbed the Syrian Embassy in Beirut.

Gee, I thought that the problem was more all those supply columns previously in road convoy across into northern Syria were now disrupted & bottlenecked backed up in Turkey, with nowhere else now to ply their trade.
We received intelligence that there were some preparations for various attacks by entering our country. There is some intelligence that this has roots in Syria,” he said, speaking at a joint press conference with his visiting Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö in Ankara on Tuesday, the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet Daily News reported.
Erdoğan also admitted that there must have been some sort of security lapses that led to the explosions.
