Message from SouthFront:
Greetings!
Due to your support this video already includes animated parts despite the recent attack on the project. The SouthFront: Analysis & Intelligence team is appreciated to know that many people aren’t indifferent to the project’s future.
A big thank you to the readers of The Saker blog for your support!
I hope these reports on China assisting Syria are realized.
The East must unite behind its red line in Syria.
Five hundred years of Western dominance must end.

I really hope China decides to help out in Iraq. That will show the west how ‘isolated’ Russia really is, once and for all.
I’ve got to say that what jumped out at me was the satellite part that allows Russia to operate from space. Nothing new there. But then I remembered conspiracy theorists who predict that space is the new war theater. What if Russian satellites are disabled by some kind of advanced technology such as Dr. Judy Woods claims (I believe conclusively) was used to reduce the twin towers to dust (for the most part). In other words Star Wars in the real world. Then my fears are allayed by the thought that Russia probably knows that and is ahead of the game in that arena also. At least I hope so. Thanks SF for keeping us up to date hour by hour despite the tech-war robots.
Not sure about about space based weapons systems but all sides US, Russia, and China all have earth based weapons to destroy things in low earth orbit. I would tend to think they could shoot down things in any orbit or even things a bit farther out.

The US is distorting GPS in war zones. Lucky Russia has its own, even slightly more accurate, GLONASS.
Thanks for the link. I was not aware of this info.
Thanks SF – very interesting.

Turkish Army Enters Syria Unannounced
2
By Leith Fadel on October 14, 2015 Featured
The Turkish Army has reportedly crossed their southern border and entered Syria by way of the ‘Etmeh crossing inside the Idlib Governorate on Tuesday morning; this act of defiance marks the second time this year that the Turkish Army has deliberately crossed the Syrian-Turkish border to enter Syria’s northern countryside.
According to social media activists inside the Idlib Governorate, a Turkish tank brigade crossed the border into the Syrian town of ‘Etmeh, where they took-up their positions at the Al-Halaqa Mountains in order begin building a wall along the border.

Well, the Turkish PM just admitted they are in cahoots with IS all 360 degrees ;):

He has been absolutely trolled about this.
China won’t be in Syrian air for some time. They haven’t even made a large military commitment in Iraq where they have very large investments and thousands of citizens working oil and infrastructure projects.
China is not a twin of Russia in international affairs. It really has no true ability to wage a distant war. As the interview with Putin just posted on the Vineyard indicates, Russia has been building the force structure capability for ten years.
If China comes to the ME to fight, it will be with SCO or UN umbrella.
Could they add a wing of attack planes in the coming months?
They might do that. But they won’t use the aircraft carrier. It is not fully fit for combat. They would most likely land-base their planes if they participated.
China has been an arms supplier to Syria for many years. They will increase that. They will do many sub-rosa things (and are probably doing them now).
But warfare emulating the US style of projecting military power is not their “thing”.
Don’t expect Chinese forces soon. They know they have to fight and die in South and Central Asia and Southeast Asia (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Xinjiang, South China Sea). The Hegemon, if dealt a decisive defeat in Syria, will ship the ragheads to the other conflict zones close to China.
Keep your eye open for the Turkish Uyghurs in Syria and Turkey. If they survive the initial decimation, China may come into the battle to wipe them out. That would limit their scope, be very defensible in the war on terror, and it fits the scale of what China would be willing to do at this stage of the war on terror.
thanks Red Ryder for very informative comment about China’s military plans.
Well said.
China pledges support for political settlement in Syria at key moment
World October 15, 18:58 UTC+3
SOFIA, October 15. /TASS/. China will support political settlement of the Syrian crisis at the key moment, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a news conference after talks with Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov.
“China understands and supports the states interested in the settlement of the Syrian crisis, as well as all efforts aimed at fight against terrorism and being in line with international law,” the top Chinese diplomat said, noting that “international effort in fight against terrorism should go in the same direction”.
“We believe that political settlement will put an end to the crisis as there is no alternative to cessation of violence and war,” Wang Yi said. “The Chinese side welcomes all political efforts towards the settlement of the Syrian crisis, we believe that the United Nations will become the final authority that will put an end to it”.
“I believe that with support and assistance of the international community and the United Nations, all parties will sit down to the negotiating table and reach the final decision on the settlement of the Syrian crisis,” Wang Yi said.
“China has always participated in international anti-terrorist cooperation, we will support political settlement for the crisis at the key moment,” the foreign minister said.
Wang Yi is in Bulgaria for an official visit. Talks with his Bulgarian counterpart have focused bilateral trade and economic relations.”
Russia must concentrate on winning the war. And not get distracted by what West thinks or any political move.
Only by winning war militarily will Russia ressurect her power and infkubce.
Syria to close the civilian airport of Latakia so Russia can increase the number of jets and triple the number of sorties.
Hell, the Chinese could build all the airfields you need in a week.
Their infrastructure capabilities are stunning. In China they are building over one hundred airports simultaneously.
A few military airfields in Syria would be child’s play.
Same theme as that story a week ago in the MSM—Putin is on the ropes!
Time for some rope-a-dope.

US rejects Russia’s offer, saying it was made out of Putin’s ‘desperation’
Wed Oct 14, 2015 11:30PM
The United States says sending the “second-highest ranking official” to the country for coordination in airstrikes both Russia and the United States are carrying out in Syria is not enough for Washington, reducing coordination to video link-ups among defense officials.
The Obama administration has rejected Moscow’s offer to send a high-ranking delegation to Washington, headed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Washington said the move had been made out of President Vladimir Putin’s desperation in Syria, where Russian forces have been bombarding Daesh terrorists’ positions.
Syria’s Ambassador to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Ja’afari, on Russia’s involvement in fighting (international) terrorism in Syria
“Humbly speaking…we are not a ‘regime’, we are a legitimate government of a sovereign country-member of the United Nations. We are a government equal to other governments including the American administration.”
“…There is a kind of misunderstanding, with regard to Russian moves in combatting terrorism in Syria. There is a big problem between the western approach and the Syrian-Russian approach. Its with regard the definition of terrorism: who is terrorist and who is not terrorist? For us in Syria, all those who are fighting the government are terrorists. Of course here we are excluding the national Opposition, those who are not using arms against their own country and their own people.
So, for the Russians, when they say they are fighting ISIL and ISIS and all the affiliated groups of ISIS, which all derive from al-Qaeda, as you know–whatever the label they call themselves is, they are all deriving from al-Qaeda. So we are here fighting the same enemy, theoretically speaking, with the Americans…and the US-led colation to combat terrorism.
So, …we should be specific about…what would be the targets of the Russian-Syrian move in combatting terrorism.”

Palestinians to Continue Al-Aqsa Mosque Intifada: Hamas
October 14, 2015 – 13:54
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hamas Spokesman Mushir al-Masri stressed that the Palestinian people will continue the al-Aqsa Mosque Intifada (uprising) until all of their objectives are achieved.
In an interview with the Tasnim News Agency on Wednesday, al-Masri said that a new Intifada is underway against the Israeli regime across the occupied territories.

28 comes after the first in the series, & their all-time evil favorite, 6!
Sadly,
This summary by south front (which normally provide good summaries) is an exercise in pure fiction. Direct Chinese military support in Syria is neither required nor is it practical (as the Chinese themselves admit at the end of the video: lack of a relief squadron for their aircraft carrier, lack of AWACS, etc.) This is precisely the kind of hurrah patriot speculation that Saker normally rails against.
China is a major power and their diplomatic backing alone is far more effective than risking a potentially embarassing debacle of fielding a still not ready blue water power projection capability which would only stretch them thin and make them look mediocre. Never choose to fight on a field (Eastern Mediterranean) where your enemy (US Navy) is strong and where you (Chinese Navy) are weak.
This is Russia’s gambit and all credit should go to Russia and its leadership. It’s always easy to act tough, heckle and boast from the sidelines while riding the coattails of your big brother when he’s beating a rival to a pulp. Thankfully the Chinese leadership is more serious, more mature and more subtle than some jingoistic speculators in their media.
You know what Anonymouse, this is information about China’s intelligence on Russian attacks in Syria. Then the video goes on to discuss what China does have and what China does not yet have. I don’t consider this hurray patriotism…Its information..which is what South Front news is all about.
Hi Ann, you are right. The first part of the video is an analysis based on the Chinese reports, expert opinions. The second part of the video is our own analysis.
P.S. It’s sad to see that some people really believe that SF analyses could be based on “wishful thinking” or kind of “patriotic believes”
Kind regards,
SouthFront: Analysis & Intelligence Team
Dear Ann,
You’re entitled to your opinion and I respect the way you conveyed it (except for the childish ad hominem “anonymouse” reference (attack my argument and not me if you want to be taken seriously). Of course I don’t agree with you, because I predicate my assessment on a different set of criteria than you.
War is not a sport that we should engage in wild speculation of an ill-conceived Chinese military intervention in Iraq.

Zero Hour Approaches as the Syrian Army Prepares to Attack Northern Homs
0
By Leith Fadel on October 14, 2015 Featured
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) are approaching zero hour for this long-awaited offensive in the Homs Governorate’s northern countryside, as the Russian Air Force and their own mortar shells continue to pound the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) at the cities of Al-Rastan and Talbiseh.
According to a military source in the Homs’s Governorate’s provincial capital, the Syrian Armed Forces have inched closer to the strategic rebel-held city of Talbiseh inside the Al-Rastan Plains after the powerful airstrikes from the Russian Air Force fractured the Islamist rebel defenses at the aforementioned opposition stronghold.
I am wondering, what is the difference between this and hiring a hit man..
“We’ve aligned ourselves to these guys, we trained them and paid them and sent them off to battle, and when the going gets tough, we’re not there.”

good information South Front. I’m starting to hear rumours about you’re ‘real interests’
you must be doing something right.
For several reasons,I’d prefer to see China involve herself in helping Iraq more than I would like to see their involvement in Syria.
It would give China more say in the Gulf region. They could probably base their planes in Iran as well as Iraq.Which would have the side benefit of assuring friendly relations and common interests with Iran. And make the US or Israel think twice about attacking Iran.Russia would then have a pardner doing in Iraq, what she is doing in Syria. So Russian forces would not be spread thin bombing in both countries. And she and China could coordinate their strikes against the terrorists to always keep them on the run.As Russia drives them towards Iraq. The Chinese would be driving them towards Syria.ISIS would be caught in the middle with no way to escape. It would give the Chinese combat experience and even more importantly prove the seriousness of China’s wanting to destroy terrorism. And support their friends in the ME (Iraq-Iran).
Indeed.
But China’s number one priority must be and will be in the economic and financial area. King dollar must be quarantined. Hundreds of millions of Chinese are working overdrive to this end.
At the moment only 6% of global trade is in RNB, renminbi, and only 2% of the worlds reserve are in RNB. These numbers have to be significantly higher. Might take another 2, 3 years.
China is definitely SCO orientated. They lost out in Libya big time and probably can now put more of a challenge now. However, they are now in the non-win-win Game of Blink with the US in the South China Sea.
Interesting suggestion they may take on some Libyan ‘revenge’ in protecting their Iraq investments but the main focus is surely Iran with its post-sanctions energy exports, infrastructure upgrade needs and Pakistan-facing opportunities.
Here is Reuters on this topic: http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/10/15/us-china-iran-idUSKCN0S907Q20151015

Does the video regulary freeze up for everyone?
Is this a bandwith issue?
I’m viewing the video using Chrome brower.
Don’t expect China to do much in Syria. Why steal the Russian show? But they might do something in Iraq. Isn’t Iraq a US “ally”? Low profile to start with, things like drones, lots of drones
@Qiaobao
Firstly China cannot steal the Russian show: their military neither has the technical level, the logistics capability (in the region) nor are even close to level of professionalism or maturity of the Russian military. The Chinese military is still undergoing an overhaul and is still a work in progress to make it leaner more technical, more responsive and more modern (Xi announced a recent reduction in troop levels by 200,000). This reformation is a gargantuan task that will take years.
Secondly their national interest is not threatened to the degree the Russian national interest is.
Thirdly China, since the passing of Mao and Deng Qiao Ping has ceased to engage in risky military adventurism (like their debacle in their 1979 invasion of Vietnam which resulted in 300,000 Chinese being bested by 60,000 Vietnamese border infantry). The Chinese have wisely used their economic and financial strength to achieve foreign policy objectives without the need to resort to direct military options.
The Chinese leadership appear to be too intelligent to prematurely initiate a military option in the Persian Gulf when their naval facility in Djibouti is unfinished and their logistics supply line via Gwadior port is years away from completion. They’d be walking into a trap splitting their nascent naval assests between the Persian gulf and the South China Sea. That would scupper any military leverage that they are trying to implement in their South China Sea strategy.
China may send military ships as a diplomatic symbol of support (as well as a tripwire or diplomatic shield), but not in a substantive military role.
Cuban military operatives reportedly have been spotted in Syria, where sources believe they are advising President Bashar al-Assad’s soldiers and may be preparing to man Russian-made tanks to aid Damascus in fighting rebel forces backed by the U.S.
Gen. Leopoldo Cintra Frias, head of Cuba’s Armed Forces, recently visited Syria to lead a group of Cuban military personnel joining forces with Russia in their support of Assad, according to information received by the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies.
On Wednesday, a U.S. official confirmed to Fox News that Cuban paramilitary and special forces units are on the ground in Syria, citing evidence from intelligence reports. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Cuban troops may have been training in Russia and may have arrived in Syria on Russian planes.

To quote – “the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Cuban troops may have been training in Russia and may have arrived in Syria on Russian planes.”
1) On condition of anonymity
2) May have been/may have arrived
Facts please not fiction.
china is currently reeling from feverish terrorist attacks in xinjiang etc.,
major industrial sabotages in tianjin, shandong, zhejiang.
its bracing for a *in your face* provocation from the pentagoon terrorists in scs.
xi cant expect much support from brics.
coz russia itself is facing attacks in ukraine, syria.
as for the other major *brics member* india,
looks like the elephant has now gotten 3 1/2 feet in the snake pit ! [1]
so dont expect china to be *proactive* in syria any time soon.
not to mention that it doesnt has the kind of force projection capability like russia.

See even Denk agrees that China already has its hands full dealing with Islamist swine in Xinjiang, industrial sabotage in Tianjin, zhejiang and Shandong attempts at encirclement by Japan and the US and a worsening situation for them in the South China Sea (US Navy intends to challenge Chinese 12mi limit off their artificially created island).
It doesn’t help that the snakes in Turkey’s AK party are openly fanning the flames of Uighur separatism and violent jihad (along with treacherous elements in the Pakistani ISI that provide these Uighur Islamist head-choppers with training). No question that China is facing Islamist snakes both in Turkey and in Central Asia.
Turkeys pro-Uighur and anti-china treachery is so blatant that the Syrian govt is reporting the presence of Turkish sponsored Uighur Islamists in Jisr-as-shugour:
Now, there are new residents or, should I say, “settlers.” They are known as Uyghurs. These Uyghurs, like the Chechens and other terrorists, are fighting together with other “moderate rebels” and under the name of ISIS. Yet these terrorists are now bringing their families with them. This movement of terrorists has now brought 3500 Uyghur families to live in the Idlib countryside after displacing the original Syrian residents.
http://www.brandonturbeville.com/2015/09/displacement-of-syrians-for-uyghur.html?m=1
turkey is a long time snake pit slimy member, not to be trusted at any cost.
i heard about isi’s hand in xinjiang, but i havent seen any conclusive proof so far.
could be another snake’s disinfo to divide and conquer .
i hope it isnt true, else china is really screwed.
the thailand terrorist attack is blamed on a uighurs trafficking outfit.
turkey has been exposed to be the mastermind of the trafficking ring.
we all know who’s turkey’s puppet master right ?
after wiping out the isis , may be russia should consider bombing washington,
now thats what i call the real war on TERROR.
hehehehe
Sorry Denk I forgot to include the follow definitive statement from the Chinese govt (Xinjiang authorities) the explicitly states that Uighur terrorists are trained in Pakistani training camps:
The Kashgar local government [i.e. Xinjiang authorities] said in a statement on its website that the assailants who attacked a restaurant that left six dead on Sunday had learned explosive-making skills in terrorist-run camps in Pakistan
“The heads of the group had learned skills of making explosives and firearms in overseas camps of the terrorist group East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) in Pakistan before entering Xinjiang,” the online statement said..
This quote was lifted from a Pakistani Newspaper, here’s the full link:
http://tribune.com.pk/story/221828/china-blames-xinjiang-unrest-on-terrorists/
So based on your on own criteria (“i hope it isnt true, else china is really screwed.”), yes indeed, China is screwed if they rely on the Pakistanis.
You will notice that later in the article (after admitting Pakistani connivance in Uighur terrorism), like typical empire coolies, the Pakistani paper then goes on to blame the Chinese (i.e. blame the victim) for terrorist atrocities of the Uighurs by quoting the propaganda of a Western MSM shill by the name of Michael Dillon:
“What we’re seeing now is a repeat of China’s complete unwillingness to see that unrest inside its borders might stem from poor conditions,” said Dillon, an academic and author of the book “Xinjiang, China’s Muslim Far Northwest”.
Many of Xinjiang’s roughly nine million Turkic-speaking Uighurs are unhappy with what they say has been
decades of political and
religious repression, and
the unwanted immigration of China’s dominant Han ethnic group.
there’r many terrorists training camps in pak….operated by cia/raw/mossad.
the pak talibans ttp is known cia/raw assets, baloch separatists are recruited, trained and paid by cia/raw/academi [1].
the notorious mehmud gang which kidnapped and killed chinese engineers, workers on the gwadar project was led by a *graduate* from the *terrorists conversion academy* in gitmo, no wonder obama still refuse to close down that gulag inspite of his pre election promise !
raymond davies who slained two pak policemen in broad daylight was prolly a death squad organiser caught red handed .
were the uighurs controlled by these vermins, or some rogue elements of isi or god forbid, isi itself ?
so far all known evidences point to the snake.
[1]
from blackwater to xe to academi, no kidding !
but a rattlesnake is a rattlesnake is a rattlesnake, by any other name hehehe
Denk,
You actually believe that the Pakistani ISI operates terrorist training camps in Pakistan in cooperation with their arch enemy the Indian intelligence agency, RAW? You have proof of this? Where are your sources? That’s not very believable is it?
Even if we were to exclude your contention that ISI colludes with India, the fact that you admit that they collude with the CIA, blackwater/XE, MI6 to train terrorists is a sufficient admission on your part that Pakistan is run by a cesspool of treachery and therefore they’re an unreliable partner: you said it yourself: “I hope it [that Pakistan is training Uighur terrorists] isn’t true else China is really screwed”. So since China has openly made that accusation because China’s intelligence agencies have hard evidence, then it must be true that Pakistan trains Uighur terrorists. So according to you, China is screwed (in their Pakistani partnership), your words not mine. Which leads to a logical conclusion that Pakistan’s presence in the SCO is that of an Empire Trojan horse and saboteur. Great work Denk in helping us reach this conclusion.
anon,
im starting anew thread else the formatting would be hard to read.
*You actually believe that the Pakistani ISI operates terrorist training camps in Pakistan in cooperation with their arch enemy the Indian intelligence agency, RAW? You have proof of this? Where are your sources? That’s not very believable is it?*
exactly, cuz i didnt say that !
what i said was cia/raw colludes in covert ops in pak, fomenting separatist movement in baloch and using the ttp to commit terrorism against pak and china.
*Even if we were to exclude your contention that ISI colludes with India, the fact that you admit that they collude with the CIA, blackwater/XE, MI6 to train terrorists is a sufficient admission on your part that Pakistan is run by a cesspool of treachery and therefore they’re an unreliable partner:*
bs, !
but yes how could i ever forget those vermins the mi6,
mother of all terrorism ?
its well known that cia/raw/mi6 [thanks for the reminder] operates covert terarists bases in pak.
after the raymond davies fiasco, pak govn kicked out dozens of cia goons operating in the unitedsnake embassy, aka terrorists hideout.
* you said it yourself: “I hope it [that Pakistan is training Uighur terrorists] isn’t true else China is really screwed”. Great work Denk in helping us reach this conclusion.*
sorry mate, wrong again,
according to that pak report,
china points out that those uighurs death squads operates from within pak bases.
which like i say are operated by cia/raw/mi6 clandestinely,
i didnt hear any chinese officials accusing pak of collusion with these vermins, [1]
there’r rumors flying around , prolly disinfo, but so far all signs point to the snake’s hand in xinjiang terrorism, abetted by raw !
that’s my conclusion !
how could u manage to miss that ?
Denk
You’ve stepped on a rake of your own making and only now you’ve realized it. I encourage you to further bury your credibility by making unsourced claims that multiple foreign agencies operate terrorist training camps in Pakistan but the Pakistani ISI is the only agency not involved in terrorist training and that amazingly even the Indians can operate camps within Pakistan and that Pakistanis are too weak and stupid to do anything about it – that is what are trying to make us believe. Now we all have a clear record of your objectivity on the subject.
Thank you.
Meanwhile Pakistan’s treacherous support of Uighar terrorists and their unreliability as a partner is driving closer anti-terrorism cooperation between SCO members India and China:
http://eng.mod.gov.cn/DefenseNews/2015-10/12/content_4623939.htm
Any further response from you is only going to further prove my point.
For my part, I am ending this “thread” here.
anon,
either my english is not up to speed or your’r too eager to prove a point, rushing into illogical conclusion !
i didnt rule out isi complicity, anything is possible in this treacherous world
utterly corrupted by the snake, especially when cia has embedded itself in pak for so long.
but the jurist is still out on this, china certainly didnt accuse pak govn of complicity except urging it to double its effort to wipe out those terrorists bases operated by cia/raw/mi6 clandestinely.
otoh, bharat’s collusion with unitedsnake in fomenting tibet unrest is well documented.
cia/raw/mi6 have also been working hand in hand in nepal, sri lanka, bangladesh etc, against chinese interest.
the nepalese mornachy was deposed by delhi sponsored maoists in 2008,
the sri lankan prez was outsted this yr by cia/raw.
cia’s hand in the boloch destabilisation is obvious. the accusation of raw’s complicity is highly credible, cuz delhi and washington both view the gawdar proj
a *threat*, their track record in thwarting chinese interest speak for themselves.
those *anti terror* drill is bs, the world’s no1 terrorist unitedsnake partake in lots of
such pr propaganda, all the while screwing the host country big time !
whats illuminating is the recent closed door meeting by the snake, its catpaw jp and bharat, *to discuss that chinese problem* !
*chinese problem*, *russian problem*, blah blah, i like that !
say who ?
the world’s no 1 shxt stirrer, the professional arsonist who makes a living igniting sparks. !!!
hehehe
china and the sco might be forgiven to ponder,
whats a nice girl like bharat doing in such company ???
