This is the full text of the panel at the Aspen Security Conference 2016 in which the Director Clapper admitted that the US Intel community is at war with Russia:
MR. SCIUTTO: So, let’s turn that around, if Putin sees himself as fighting this sort of low level war, in your job do you look at yourself as at war to some degree with Russia?
MR. CLAPPER: Well, that’s the nature of the intelligence business. I guess if you want to put it in that context, I guess we are at war and we are doing an operational mission 7/24 365 against a number of known adversaries or potential adversaries. So, I guess in a sense that’s our version of war.

I was in Walmart the other day picking up some wood chips for the smoker, and I ran into an old acquaintance back from my Evangelical protestant days. We got to talking and among other things he said that he didn’t care for Trump, but given the people who were dead set against him, he would probably vote for him. I mentioned something about the nature of corruption, and the scam of ISIS etc., stuff that readers here take for granted but I just got a blank look. It finally dawned on me that most Americans’ view of the world is inchoate, not to say disinformed. The guy I was talking to spent most of the time with his business and keeping it above water, whereas I have endeavored to subsist and try to understand things. I am not typical, nor I suspect the average reader of this blog. Could it be that we are all submarines in the desert?
The great US poet, Randall Jarrell, noted that most of his compatriots had never read a book or, what was worse, only read the Readers Digest which Jarrell described as “a mental level so low that it is not so much a level as a swamp into which the reader softly sinks without trace”. He imagined “collective America” being asked a question of any importance and answering with a great collective “Huh?”.
Poor sensitive, intelligent Randall Jarrell died of depression. Don’t despair, have faith, that great country is not entirely run by power-crazy Elmer Fudds and money-mad Babbitts.
I understand Paul Craig’s Robert’s total frustration and his last sentence is sad, truly sad but readers here should know that outside of the intelligentsia/MSM echo chambers, vast numbers of the American people know they have been sorely used and abused.

The difference between Trump and Clinton is a simple one. With Trump, lot of people will get poorer, gradually. When you consider that the Trumps and Clintons have been on friendly terms for years, the suspicion that Trump is the Rightwing Sanders, sheep-dogging the Tea Party malcontents then running dead so that the Zionazi favourite Clinton can ascend to the throne, begins to form in my head.

Page 18 of the PDF – the speaker who asks a question and Clapper’s reply makes it quite clear that they know AQ is the “rebels” in Syria and that Russia is leading the fight against AQ in Syria.
That they can casually acknowledge the truth in a forum like that, yet the establishment MSM continues to pump out anti Syria, anti Russian propaganda… it really is an Orwellian world where everything is inverted.

That’s my least favorite part. Who does this guy think he is? I really think he overstimates his country, on the contrary I don’t think that America as a country is feared (or is considered a “superpower” by it’s “enemies and potential enemies”), I think it’s more hated than feared, and with it’s new threats and insults (verbal or not) it achieves new levels of being hated.
I really hope Russia doesn’t have a based-on-facts reason to fear American military attack.
On another note, America is bigger than in seems, by which I mean, it’s bigger than it’s government, or than a country. Please don’t take it as trolling or as an insult (it’s neither), but I think that 99% Russians are pro-American (I don’t say “pro-Western” because “The West” is a false term used today by those who wish to insult Russia. There is no “West” anymore.) and anti-Russian, militantly so, to the point on trolling on the Internet, and bullying in the streets, at workplaces and the schools.
In that sense, not only is this person right, but he also understates the intensity of this war. About 99% Russians (well, I hope I’m exaggerating and in reality it’s less. But “I hope” is not to be read as “I am optimistic and have true reasons to be so”) are at war with 1% more patriotic Russians and it is 24/7 365 of hours worth of disrespect, torture, and everyday hell.

Some thoughts on the Aspen Institute Security Forum 2016
Background to these thoughts are the actual events I watched while living in downtown Boston in 2001 on 9/11, living in the YWCA Berkley House. Reading the still powerful New York Times daily cover to cover since 9/11 was done, buying and reading expose stories at least one a month as they were published until I moved to Europe permanently (as planned for 40 years) in 2005.
James Clapper head of US National Security would be held hostage by the US Government cabal that approved and supported 9/11 known to be Saudi planned one year in advance. UK Intelligence delivered that information to the White House where it was calculatingly “ignored”. They knew anyway.
Clinton was then, is now, a key member of the approving cabal. A bronze head of Vice President Dick Cheney is in some Congressional corridor in thanks for closing down the East Coast airspace just before 9/11.
