The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) have claimed that their cells carried out a series of hit and run attacks against Turkey-led forces in the northern Syrian area of Afrin from July 5 to July 8.
One Turkish-backed fighters was reportedly killed by YPG sniper fire at a military point between the settlements of Jinderes and Atma on July 5. Three members of the Hamza Brigade were killed on the road between Rajo and Afrin on July 6. A commander of the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA), Mohmmad al-Souleiman, was killed in the Bibil district and an IED explosion killed two fighters in the Shara district on July 7. Two Turkish Army soldiers were reportedly killed in in the Rajo district in a separate attack on the same day.
On July 8, the YPG allegedly carried out a bombing attack on a convoy in the Mabata district killing two fighters.
According to the YPG, since the very start of the operation in Afrin on January 20, 2018, Turkey-led forces have lost 2515 fighters. The Turkish side denies this number describing it as a propaganda.
The continued YPG attacks on Turkey-led forces in Afrin show that the Turkish Army and its proxies from the FSA have so far failed to secure the mountainous part of the Afrin area, which is used by YPG cells to hide and prepare further attacks.
On July 10, an ISIS suicide bomber targeted positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at the village of Zaizoun in the western countryside of Daraa. According to ISIS-linked sources, about two dozens of SAA troops were killed in the incident. However, this number is clearly overestimated. Pro-government sources say that less than 10 SAA troops were killed or injured in the attack.
The ISIS branch in southern Syria – the Khalid ibn al-Walid Army – has increased its activity against the SAA as government forces are nearing a full liberation of Daraa city and its countryside. According to reports, a radical part of militant groups, which had already surrendered to the SAA in the province, also joined the ISIS-linked organization.
Meanwhile, government forces restored control of the areas of Gharaz, Samlin, Kafr Shams, Kafr Nasej and Aqraba. In Gharaz, the SAA recovered a battle tank, some US-made TOW missiles, mortar rounds, rocket shells, tank shells, RPGs, IEDs as well as other weapons and munition
The more NATZO’s terrorists are pushed against the borders that they came into Syria from, the more those countries drop the ISIS mask and come out openly with their regular armed forces against Syria. On the Southern border of Syria, the armies of Israel as always, plus UK and U$A via Jordan have begun openly attacking Syria and Allies:
Syria air defenses repel Israeli airstrike on Quneitra
https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/07/11/567835/syrian-israel-airstrike-quneitra
Jordan, whose Anglophile King welcomed U$ UK forces on its territory but whose trade depends on peace at its border with Syria (recently liberated by the Syrian Army and now open for trade), is now in a most unhappy schizophrenic situation.
In the north, NATZO is represented by the armies of U$A, Turkey and France. But here NATZO no longer represents a unified front, because NATZO founder Uncle $cam wants to set up an Eretz-Kurdistan which is anathema to NATZO member Turkey. U$-backed YPG forces of ISIS vs some Turkish-backed forces of ISIS may be a sign of increasing rift in NATZO. Both parties may end up dropping the ISIS mask, with regular U$ Army fighting regular Turkish Army in the Northern border area of Syria.

Israel Attacks Syrian Army Positions in Quneitra Province
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201807121066273177-syrian-air-defenses-block-israeli-attack/
“The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported late Wednesday that Syrian air defenses had responded to an Israeli attack on the Quneitra Province in southwestern Syria.
“The aircraft of the Israeli enemy fired several missiles in the direction of some army positions,” SANA quoted the military source as saying. The report indicated the targets were Syrian army posts near the towns of Hadar and Juba. SANA said Syrian air defense blocked some of the strikes and that only material damage had resulted from the attack.
Reports also surfaced of heavy IDF activity over Syria near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The Israel Defense Forces later admitted to having fired missiles into Syria’s southwestern Quneitra province.
“The IDF attacked three Syrian army positions in response to an intrusion by a Syrian UAV that was intercepted earlier on Wednesday,” the military said in a press release.”
Israeli attack springboards jihadist offensive near occupied Golan Heights
https://mobile.almasdarnews.com/article/israeli-attack-springboards-jihadist-offensive-near-occupied-golan-heights/
“According to a military report, the Israeli Air Force struck at least three Syrian Army posts near the Qars Nafel Hill and several other points near the towns of Samdaniyah Al-Sharqiyah, Umm Batna and Dawha.
The Syrian Air Defense attempted to intercept the attack, but was only able to shoot down the Israeli missiles near the town of Umm Batna and Kroum Hill.
Following the Israeli airstrikes, the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham took the opportunity to launch a quick offensive in order to capture some ground against the Syrian Arab Army in the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
This jihadist offensive would ultimately fail after a short battle with both the Syrian Arab Army and Al-Quneitra Hawks faction of the National Defense Forces (NDF).”
Let’s see, the israelis and daesh stage an op where daesh sends a drone over israeli occupied territory, the israelis use that as a pretext to air attack Syrian military positions (by israeli a/c firing missiles from within israeli occupied territory), then daesh attempts an attack on SAA positions just attacked by the cowardly zionazis.
Where have we seen that scenario before?
The israelis have learned from their earlier mistakes and are staging attacks where their intelligence, and that of their nato colonials, determine Syrian air defense is weak.
I heard it was a Russian drone, observing the Golan activity. Not been verified, though.
Abysmal Wheat Harvest in Syrian ‘Kurdistan’.
“…there are many reasons for bad wheat crops in northern and NE Syria:
1) Lack of able manpower, most youngsters hurried to join the SDF.
2) Lack of new harvesting equipment due to the long war of aggression against the Syrians, lack of supply of agriculture equipment by the so called coalition of killing, and a reduced capacity of silos, many destroyed in battles.
3) Water management was done in the past 12-18 months for military/political purpose (as flooding the Euphrates to delay the SAA crossing or to destroy mobile bridges). The water supply has been shifted from reserves that could be use to irrigate crops in Hasaka and Raqqa, this is not the sole reason for sure, since weather played an important role, but it aggravated the problem.
The wheat harvest on Syrian Gov’t controlled area such as liberated eastern Aleppo, southern Aleppo and partially Homs Province, was most likely way better, I do not have data to support that, but have seen videos from areas liberated that the wheat crops were growing healthy and with strong harvest forecast.
The Syrian Gov’t has been importing wheat from Russia for many years, it is a bartering deal wheat by fruits (citrus and dried fruits).
Syrian Gov’t has been importing both oil for its 2 refineries and fuel from Iran for over 6 years, 2018 will be the first year that the imports will be reduced.
Syria may resume exporting gas and power to neighbouring countries such as Jordan and Lebanon during 2018. Anywhere between late 2018 and early 2019, Syria will reach all time daily records of gas production, not only from the existing and rebuilt gas fields but from new ones in the Qalamoun region.
Some folks say that the so called “Syrian Revolution” has started back in 2010-2011 due to terrible weather and water shortage that affected the wheat production and the Syrian Gov’t had to sell its strategic wheat reserves to accommodate the higher prices that was sweeping all over the ME in 2010. We all know that it was not the reason, but the higher prices gave additional fuel to the coalition of killing to support the terrorists that invaded Syria.
Will 2018 be the year of a Syrian insurgency against foreign occupation due to poor wheat harvest and higher prices ? it could be indeed.” (Canthama)

Hint of a tectonic shift — Turkey drifting toward Iran and Russia — from analyst Canthama in SyrPer:
“Last but not least, recent events in Idlib, Lattakia and west Aleppo changed for good the fate of terrorists inside the occupied areas, it seems there is a green light from Russia, Turkey and Iran for the SAA to liberate the whole Northern area under the terrorists.
Since the front line in the South was reduced dramatically and now without the battle for Daraa city, thousands of troops will be redeployed North, while some elite forces will finish off Israeli-backed al Qaeda and ISIS in Quneytra and NW Daraa.”
Assad Raises Syrian Flag Over Daraa, the Birthplace of the Uprising Against Him

Friday the 13th. Just back from a swim in the river. The usually laid-back place was crowded with sensationally fresh, happy and healthy looking girls and boys enjoying their last ‘school day’ under a sunny, blue sky. Yes, it’s summer vacations here in Switzerland, the Syrian flag flies for the first time since seven years over Daraa city, and the Zionist proxy-revolution in Syria is utterly defeated. There is no other existence than existence! This very body the Buddha, this very place the Lotus Paradise.
Are You Ready for the Liberation of Idlib in September ?
“… things in Idlib has changed for good after the recent terrorists attack in Lattakia, Hama and west Aleppo, the Russian airbase has been attacked in sequence of 3 days by dozens of drones, while mini offensives by terrorists were launched in Lattakia and Hama and shelling has happened in Aleppo city from west Aleppo.
In summary, as if the terrorists tried hard to break any possible “peaceful agreement” between Russia-Turkey-Iran on this region, the fact is, the SAA is already moving some troops to the north, it will take some time but since the frontline in Daraa/Quneytra is now way shorter and the terrorists in Daraa city, that would drain thousands of soldiers in battle, has surrendered, many elite soldiers are now on leave and/or moving north.
There will be elite soldiers in the south to fight Israeli backed ISIS and al Qaeda, but not the 80,000 troops that were gathered in the south early June, from that gathering, less than 30,000 soldiers remain in the south, many on leave at the moment waiting for the next offensive that will be Idlib and Hama, b may be right when he says few weeks, but it seems that September to be more logical for this offensive, a lot of logistics to be prepared and the TFs do take time to launch an offensive.” (Canthama)
Idlib Liberation Would Bring End to Syria War – Syrian Military
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201807121066293659-idlib-liberation-would-bring-end-to-syria-war/
“The army now has the power to liberate the province of Idlib. This will become a key to the end of the ongoing war that has entered its eighth year,” the officer said. He promised that the coming days would see events that would “surprise everyone.”
“The terrorists have signed their own death warrant.”
The source added that Syrian troops have been successfully repelling militant attacks along the border with Idlib. According to the officer, Syrian Army checkpoints are ready for both defensive and offensive scenarios.
Idlib-based terrorist forces have been weakened by infightings, the local media reports. In the past eight months, clashes between different militant groups killed some 8,000 terrorists, mostly members of Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhat al-Nusra.
As the pro-government forces have been stepping up gains in the south, Idlib, a province in northwestern Syria, remains the last rebel stronghold.
Idlib is a strategically important city, as it shares a border with Turkey and neighbors the province of Latakia, a key stronghold of President Assad. Moreover, Idlib, the provincial capital, is located near a highway linking Syria’s second-largest city, Aleppo, to Damascus.”
