Syrian government forces have cleared over 5,200km2 of the Deir Ezzor desert of ISIS cells, the Syrian General Command said on June 27.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies launched a military operation in the area on June 20. The rapid progress in the desert can be explained by the lack of resistance from the ISIS cells, which had mostly withdrawn towards the Homs desert.
The SAA and the Tiger Forces liberated the villages of Mulayha al-Sharqiyah, Mulayha al-Gharbiyah, Nahitah and Samma al-Hneidat in the eastern part of Daraa province from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and its allies and entered the village of al-Hirak.
According to reports, 450 members of the Free Syrian Army also surrendered to the SAA amid the government advance.
Meanwhile, the ISIS-affiliated Khalid ibn al-Walid Army and units of the US-backed FSA reached a ceasefire agreement in southern Syria, according to a report by the news outlet Nedaa Syria.
The ceasefire has not been officially announced, but no recent fighting between the sides has been reported. It is interesting to note that the agreement comes amid the ongoing SAA military operation in Daraa thus once again showing how so-called moderate opposition groups can reach an understanding with ISIS when necessary.

“The notorious White Helmets have brought chemicals, protective gear and cameras to militant-controlled Idlib in Syria, in an apparent preparation of yet another false-flag attack, locals told the Russian Reconciliation Center.
A convoy of six vehicles, bearing the emblems of the White Helmets, reportedly arrived in the capital of Idlib province over the weekend, the head of the Russian Reconciliation Center, major general Aleksey Tsygankov, told journalists on Wednesday.
One of the trucks was loaded with missiles and canisters containing unknown substances, as well as protective gear and filming equipment. Local residents reported seeing four persons, wearing hazmat protection gear, filling the warheads with this liquid and some unknown powder. The convoy then reportedly left for the small town of Maarat al-Numaan, south of the city of Idlib.
The self-styled volunteer first-responders have also been mired in controversy by their links to al-Qaeda terrorists and other extremist groups in Syria. The group operates exclusively in militant-held areas of Syria, and its members have repeatedly been photographed and filmed fraternizing with jihadists.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry repeatedly warned that it had credible intelligence that militants in Syria are involved in orchestrating false flag chemical attacks to justify Western airstrikes on Syrian government forces – and even accused US Special Forces of helping to stage such provocations.”
Russia, Syria, allies, and the world countries, including the UN, must start calling for all interested parites wanting to help the Syrian people to coordinate their activities with the Syrian people’s legitimate government only. Anyone using other channels to aid groups of people directly inside Syria, without the legitimate people’s government, will be considered as terrorists and must be eliminated. Its time to start doing this now and stop giving legitimacy to US and other governments, including western NGO, from entering Syria illegally and forstering unrest.
Daraa Update.
“The whole southern Syria is boiling at this very moment. … some 100 villages were ripe to reconcile with the Syrian Government, people are just tired of this fake revolution and understand very well that they have all to gain to reconcile with the legit Syrian Gov’t and preserve what they have (real state, business, lives etc…).
Since the beginning of the Operation Basalt, dozens of villages surrendered and kicked the terrorists out, also hundreds, and possible thousands of terrorists are reconciling with the Gov’t and trying to settle their cases. This is happening while the SAA is sweeping the eastern side of Daraa and now (started today) the western side of Daraa.
It should not be a surprise to any of us that when the terrorists are pressured, which they are right now, they try to either reconcile to close a deal to be evacuated to wahhabeastan in Idlib, right now, many key cities in the south are dealing with the terrorists and the Syrian Government, from Borsa al Sham, Nawa, Jasim, Ibta, Da’il, al Karak and Umm Walad, all of them are requesting 12 hours truce so they get an agreement with the terrorists so the SAA can enter the towns. By tomorrow around midday local time we will know whether the 12 hrs truce will be extended toward a final agreement by the weekend or the battle continues.

The battle for the hearts and souls in the south of Syria is already won, not only the SAA has shown a much superior military ability to gain ground quickly, as it has been done in a way to maximize preservation of the villages, local people know that and are talking to other fellows, and the domino effect has being huge, the battle for most of Daraa and Quneytra will be over soon, and just a small area with ISIS and al Qaeda by the Golan Heights will be left for last, maybe Daraa city will be as well left for last.
