Our world is slowly, actually in the last month not so slowly, approaching the active continuation of the war that started in 1914. While there have been interludes of relative ‘peace’, read the main antagonists were not bayoneting each other by the tens of thousands daily, reality is there has been no peace since that fateful day in 1914.
The fall of the Russian Empire, to a more or less great extent by it’s own hand, was one of the main events of that war and this destruction effectively negated any Russian influence in world events for a generation during which time all the protagonists managed to grow another generation of fighting age men. Looking back from the relatively clear vision of a century, one can see that the second part of this war was inflicted on themselves by the supposed victors of the first active phase of the war with their draconian sanctions and reparations pushed on Germany and Austria. The ‘victors’ certainly harvested what they had sown and in spades, as did most of the northern hemisphere of this rock we are on.
Through the three decades after the second active phase of the 1914 war, massive rebuilding was done in all the continental areas of the fighting and in China and Japan. Entire cultures had been flattened and some completely wiped out, never to return, in the first two active phases of the war. Such is war which saw England die on Flanders fields, France had died on the retreat from Moskau in 1812, bayoneted yet again in the 1870’s and effectively destroyed at Verdun. Russia was prostrate after 1918, rebuilt herself by the 1930’s and attacked again in 1941, being almost totally destroyed from Moskau west to the borders of ‘olde Europe’ by 1945. Reality is USA was the only one standing in 1945, Europe, North Afrika, Japan and China were destroyed.
In the ensuing ‘peace’, aka Pax Rossiya, of 1954 to 1990, Europe, Russia and Japan rebuilt themselves from the ground up. Both Russia and US occupied Europe and US occupied Japan, US still occupying these areas, Russia having withdrawn when SSSR disintegrated around 1990. In the ensuing 25 years since SSSR ceased to exist, Russia has pulled herself up by her boot straps and to a fair extent stopped the wholesale looting and plundering of former SSSR riches and resources.
In the meantime, US has, against all guaranties given to SSSR and Russia, expanded nato to the very borders of Russia and has actively engaged Russia in several fronts, most recent in Gruzya and Syria. The Gruzya war was short and a lesson to both us/nato and Russia. Now, at the request of the legal government of Syria, Russia has stepped in to stop the ‘civil’ war, read attempt to destroy and fragment Syria, and to a large extent defeated ISIL (or whatever name they go by on this day) and pushed us/nato away from the main population centers of Syria. The cost has been horrendous but there is a glimmer of victory, and peace, on the horizon.
Us/nato have done their very best to negate Russia’s efforts in Syria and the success of President Putin in stopping any possibility of war and occupation by us/nato of Krimea and Sevastopol, both entities being the prize of the coup in Kiev in 2014. As a result of President Putin’s success in these two agendas and President Putin stopping the genocide and destruction of Novorossiya, to some ‘Donbas’, us/nato are now fully committed to war against Russia. They are slowly but steadily putting a ring of missile defenses around Russia, from the Baltic area down to the east and southern Black Sea (and shortly in Gruzya), now Korea and Japan, and of course defenses are in and have been in Alaska.
Now, here’s a little breath of reality. When the wagon train, aka Russia, has circled, and the bad guys, aka us/nato, are slowly moving closer and closer to the circle of wagons while continuously muttering platitudes and disavowing any ulterior motives, what is one to think whilst sitting inside the circle of wagons? We KNOW what to think and we know what is coming, the only question is when. The problem is us/nato knows they can not defeat Russia in a conventional war and they know a ‘non conventional’ war will see the utter and total destruction of at least the northern half of our home planet.
Therefore us/nato have only one, actually two, possibilities of action at this time. One is the ongoing and ever increasing sanctions against Russia, each an act of war in and of itself. The other is to actively fight against Russia in Syria and this is what us/nato have been doing since Russia was invited by the legally elected government of the Sovereign State of Syria to help defeat the terrorists/us/nato attempting to destroy Syria. In this ongoing war, and that’s exactly what it is, a war between us/nato and Russia, losses have and will occur to both sides. Both sides will use whatever propaganda they can to make themselves look like virtuous warriors while denigrating the other side. Such is life for eons. The reality is us/nato and Russia have tried not to actively fight each other with their own troops, they use proxies in general and both sides have advisers helping their proxies and for Russia helping the armed forces of Syria. As a result of these advisers and proxies, losses occur on each side.
The actual fight ballyhooed in the news was simply an air attack by illegal us/nato forces against Syrian government forces approaching an area us/nato did not want them near. It is unknown if Russia or Syria was aware of the actual quite small force advancing towards a ‘us/nato secure zone’ but the air attack did happen and reliable reports are three contractors and ‘a few’ Syrian troops were killed. Such is war and the end result was some more grieving widows and families on both sides as us/nato protected their ISIL proxies, nothing more.
Now as far as reality in this ongoing continuation of the 1914 war. Who are you to believe and put your faith in? Are you to believe a man who came from virtually nowhere in 1999, reached down and pulled Russia from the deadly morass she was sinking in, rebuilt the Russian economy, rebuilt the Russia armed forces in to a force that is both patriotic and a force to be reckoned with, restored the diplomatic corp of Russia with the likes of Minister Lavrov, restored the faith of the population to Russia and enjoys somewhere around 80% approval of his policies both home and international? Or are you to believe in the likes of Tillerson and Mattis, in the likes of a country whose president has no real power to this day and in my opinion is the midst of an ongoing and vicious coup d’etat against the legally elected government and the president, whose military is a half assed experiment in social engineering and is scattered all across the globe with no real power in any one given area? A country that actively stifles any descent against it’s will all over this globe and is steadily moving to war against a nuclear armed country that has displayed no aggression since 1990? A country that is rapidly turning in to an economic disaster and becoming a police state the likes of which Goebbels and Beria would love and admire?
I know that’s a difficult question but sitting here on one of many ground zeroes, I know who my faith is in.
Thank you Auslander, that was a very good read.
He also writes very interesting fiction.
His latest, Blue Cloud, is a dog-lovers beauty.
If you like military tales, he does those very well, history as fiction, based generally in Crimea.
Give his books a whirl.
Thank you, Ted. I researched a bit whilst writing this and tried to show what has led us to today. I will continue to research to get to the bottom of the current and ongoing crisis.

Totally coincidental that this period should concur with our hero’s, currently called Zionists, desire and largely successful quest to own everything everywhere no matter the cost to lesser people.
And interesting, the present lack of will of powerful ‘western’, or likely anywhere, people opposing such avarice – life – https://youtu.be/PE5sJy44s-Y
“defensive missiles” or ” “defensive” missiles” ?
Looks like they are missiles allright, but why not be a little bit multifunctional … as already publicly pointed out.
Great comment!
I think if Putin is smart and patient (and he is both), he will simply stand by and watch as the US empire falls apart. It’s already in process, after all. The economic wheels are coming off as we speak, and there’s little sign that this process will do anything but accelerate. All military power is made possible by economic power. Once the dollar standard era has passed, America’s ability to project force will pass with it. We are now only a few years away from that point IMO.
The danger is that the Zio-US empire will lash out stupidly as the last desperate act of a dying beast trying to save itself by destroying everything around it. This is especially true since US policy is, in effect, Israeli policy-a country not known for its sober and justified use of force. It’s best to try to stay out of the way when/if that happens.
That’s why I think it was a good idea for Russia to begin to withdraw from Syria even though Assad’s continued rule over that country is by no means completely secure. It’s far better to provide weapons/training/technical support to keep Assad in power and be able to claim plausible deniability in case one of the empire’s soldiers gets mauled by a Russian proxy fighter.
If Russia and China can stay out of brushfire entanglements that could escalate into war for just a short while longer, I think that there is an outside chance for a new multipolar world order to emerge peacefully from the chaos that will ensue from the end of the American dollar standard era. I will be hoping and praying that this is what happens.

What you have stated I have written on a number of occasions. Russians and Chinese have tremendous amounts of patience. In Russia they have a saying, which goes like this:”Easy, easy. We wait”. While the US has been following the imperial policy of Wall Street, the Russians and Chinese have basically been building up their infrastructure, which is remarkable in the case of Russia, bearing in mind how many times it faced wars of aggression and how much damage it suffered. Putin’s accomplishments are indeed impressive, bearing in mind what he inherited. He built up his military to an efficient high tech institution, even though the Russian Defense Budget is many times smaller than the US. This was certainly an advantage to him, although not grasped by NATO. Russian military doctrine is based on defense, holding what you have. This means the Russian military is strong enough to defeat any invader, as admitted by the Pentagon a few years back, when it stated that Russia cannot be defeated in a conventional war.
The elites in the West are parroting the claim that Russia is a danger to Europe. It is not. The Russian military does not have the men to invade both Europe and defend Russia domestically, nor does Russia have any intention of invading Europe, bearing in mind the size of Russia. Putin holds a degree in law and a Phd. in economics. He has no intention of destroying Russia financially in a ludicrous imperial war, as the US is doing right now. And yes, Putin is indeed playing the waiting game, waiting for the US to implode financially, as it will. One analyst is even stating that the US will introduce a new dollar for domestic use.
“as admitted by the Pentagon a few years back, when it stated that Russia cannot be defeated in a conventional war.” – That’s right ! But wait a minute, what if they don’t want to defeat Russia in a conventional war, just make it to go bankrupt and a limited conventional war would be part of that ? I know, there are great dangers also for Europe but really, does US care for that (or even be happy with that, also), safeguarding his position as “heaven of the free world” again. The war would be fought again in Europe, far away from US. They can create a crisis of this kind via Ukraine creating also a huge propaganda offensive, never heard since ww2. No, they will not use nuclear weapons, cause they know what will be the response, instead they will try to aggravate the situation stage by stage, waiting for a counter-reaction from Russia then saying : “we told you, they are aggressors”. Will Russia use them ? I don’t think so, they will wait, it will be a dance on a knife’s edge. One can speculate on such scenarios but they surely do that, probably having done tons of evaluations. The real Evil is not fool, one have to be pretty sure that Evil is very smart (otherwise he wouldn’t survived so many, many years) Putin knows this very well but many things he cannot tell (publicly). The main war is already ongoing, it is a matter of time until it will be projected in full swing in the physical realm. The official players want this to be played out under their regulations and limited to some places. Some other forces want this to be a Biblical event (as if they could give orders to God Himself).

The limited war Russia is fighting in Syria is regional, although important. It’s expenses are covered by the Russian Defense Budget. Yes, we shall pretty soon get a new war in the Donbass. Everybody is expecting it, including the Russians in the Dobass, who are well armed and well dug in. Poroshenko would be very foolish to attack, as he cannot possibly win. Putin knows it.

I agree with most of your well written and thought out reply, however, I disagree that US will remain unscathed if this mess turns in to a shooting war between RF and US. I think for the first time since 1860 US will see war up close and personal and this will be a tremendous shock to the citizenry.
I do not foresee an actual invasion of US, at least not at first, but the level of destruction to coastal naval bases and air assets will mirror the level of destruction done to us, and I say ‘us’ because the harbor I can see from my house, less than a klick away, will be savaged, that’s a given. I think there is a better than even chance we will see just how good Pantsir, S 300, 400, 500 and upgraded Buk are.
I agree that the war is on and has been for almost 4 years. As for Novorossiya, she can defend herself against anything the orcs can throw at her with no need of the ‘North Wind’ but the provocations and propaganda will be the stuff of legend. You can look for horrendous scenes of innocent Ukrainian civilians butchered by Novorossiya plus do not be surprised if poison gas is used as a false flag. Both are in the playbook. However, this time the foreigners captured will not be, as in the past, quietly sent back. This time they will march in the Victory Parades, under guard and quite possibly hands bound behind their backs.
Europe, I don’t know what will happen there. It’s probable that the US units will want to fight but the question is will the citizens of the various countries allow this to happen, reason being there are plenty of people still alive who have vivid memories of the last war plus the wars in Serbia and Kosovo. It’s entirely possible that governments will fall and virtual anarchy will be extant. I’ve never seen this discussed but it should be.

I can tell you there is a sizable(25-35%) of the us that sees what is happening to some degree or another, but not enough. Even then, what can be done? 15yrs. ago 35million people marched to stop the Iraq war to what end? We’re STILL there! Obomber’s ‘red line’ for an excuse, hundreds of thousands protested, wrote letters, flooded phone banks. Congress Didn’t do squat, and we’re Still in Syria!
Shrub dismissed 35 million as ‘a few fringe groups’. The Clinton Creature devastated Libya, screwed Honduras(to this day) and so far has gotten away clean.
If any of you have any hope, or expectation, of the American people having influence on our corrupt system, well, I’ll have two of whatever your having.
I’ll need ’em.
TBU. Have faith. You and your 35Million who marched and wrote to your Congressmen helped them dissuade Obomba from ordering NATZO missiles to rain down on Damascus. Of course the presence of Russian warships helped as well.

There is one thing i can´t wipe out of my imagination.
What if IRAN, who for sure have their own interests in middle east, but if Iran leases a naval/air base for Russia or China, or both for just 15 years, right in the southern part of the Persian Gulf?, Naturally south of the narrowest of Hormuz just not to tie iranian hands if they decide to close down the strait against an enemy attack.
This is feasible especially by some chinese policy.
Good old UsofA and Tel aviv could do what except declare war on Iran or tear up their own asses ?
Auslander, you remind me of a video clip taken in Donetsk (?) a few years back of a column of Ukrop prisoners marching down Main Street, under the gaze of the jeering citizens. They were followed by those water trucks you see at construction sites, spraying down the street. Nice symbolism there. I think reenacting that march with a group of NATO SF types would be very cathartic for us. The great unwashed masses of people in “flyover country” who should be the natural friends of Russia (and voted for Trump) still have this ludicrous sense of our invincibility and “most powerful military the world has ever seen” and all the rest of it. It tends to encourage a rather belligerent attitude I’m afraid.
Andrew
The POW march in Donetsk City was a small reproduction of a parade in Moskau, don’t remember if it was ’44 or ’45, when thousands of German prisoners were marched through the streets of Moskau and then the streets were washed after their passing.
In Donetsk, the prisoners were marched by guards with fixed bayonets and dogs, this for an even greater humiliation for the prisoners.
I would bet that when the war goes active in Novorossiya, and it will do so, the same parade scene will be repeated only this time with both orc and us/nato prisoners in a gaggle together and again the guards with fixed bayonets and guard dogs. This time there will be no stand down to allow the nato ‘advisers’ and ‘trainers’ to leave as in Debaltsyevo and the summer ’14 cauldrons, this time they will be defeated and scooped up with the orcs, then humiliated with a public march of shame.
Auslander
The POW march in Moscow happened in late 1944, after Operation Bagration resulted in the complete annihilation of Army Group Centre.
The reason that the streets were washed after the ww2, Moscow German POW march was because they had pooped themselves after eating lots of cabbage soup.
To march NATO soldiers would be to publicly taunt and shame one of the world’s superpowers—who is just waiting for an excuse to attack Russia. They are not so foolish to attack the more powerful Russia right now, but provoke them, and they will lose their cool. Americans can be hot headed—losing ones temper is a national pasttime. Provocation would not be wise.
Exactly, Deep State “fantasy land dreamers” think that they will get away “Scott free” as before. No such a thing. They will have dust and rubble to sift through. I actually think, there will be only cockroaches left. And if deep state thinks they can hide in their bunkers in South America they will have big surprise coming to them. Just a thought.
Thanks Auslander, for an informative and nice read an also thanks to mod HS to highlight it, thus promoting it to the worthiness to be a topic and discussion in itself.
A sideline considering the remark that in a non conventional war the Northern Hemisphere would be destroyed. The Southern will be as well. Fallout will travel with the winds. To get an idea what the remaining short life will look like, I can recommend the book ‘On the beach’ by Nevil Shute.
Maybe Mother Nature has a surprise, but in the end only cockroaches and scorpions might survive (and maybe Keith Richards).

I couldn’t agree less with the last sentence. As an European, I don’t recognize a Russian threat. Our dear leaders may yell otherwise, but please consider that I have never experienced in my life such a distance between governments and the public they are supposed to ‘serve’. We are colonized and enslaved.
What I fear that will happen, is the EU being the repeat of a project. There used to be a project to unite different nations, with different languages, religions, history and culture under one flag and a repeated mantra ‘we are one’. This project was called Yugoslavia. Yes, this war will be continued as well.
I don’t have the pretention to know all about this war (if somebody can tip me off about a thorough good book, I’m interested), but if I remember correctly the SHTF there when it was tried to turn Bosnia Herzegovina into a muslim state by law, based on the Sharia.
Maybe few will think that such a thing will not happen. Think again. Europe does not have a good track record in handling such ‘problems’, and Europe is changed by the EU. I’ve read an internal document from the EU in which they *plan* (yes, this is planned) to move tens of millions of Africans to Europe the coming years. This is planned, and will end up in disaster. It will bankrupt and break up nations, just as Brussels wants, because Brussels is only interested in power and does not care sh*t whether we, people, are doing fine or are in misery.
‘The Russians are coming’? Maybe in the end, to save whatever is left.
Just my 2 cents, and I dearly hope that I’m wrong.
Cheers, Rob
Since it’s all about money, why should European politicians want to bankrupt their own countries? This logic doesn’t add up. The politicians in Brussels are idiots, but they aren’t that stupid.
Its about money which is ultimately about what you can buy with it.
They want to buy power but have lost the plot and gone into overkill, commonly known as ‘power-mad’.
Too much of anything can drive you mad, even things commonly thought of as purely benign, things like religion for one.
The money goes into the politicians pockets, Anonymous. First, paid by the US. Second, by corporations and oligarchs. The people be damned.
@anonymous
This logic crossed my mind as well, just as with any other sane person, I guess.
However, when the choice is ´welfare´ compared to ´hegemony´, which one will prevail in the minds of the people that are really calling the shots?
Maybe ´domination by destruction´ plays a more important role than we minions think. For instance, we can´t deny that Georgyi Schwartz (aka George Soros) loves money, but he is also hell bent on open borders.
Just hit a search machine on Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi. It´s all about domination.
Cheers, Rob
Rob
Domination by destruction only works if people believe in the agitation. People will bring chaos upon themselves if they’re fantasizing about shooting others at borders and other similar absurd ideas. Does domination by destruction work in Ukraine? That country is a failed state. Ukrainians are no closer to me than Africans. Both groups are foreigners to me and I would appreciate them to stay at home. The major problem is that our Western governments are mingling in the internal affairs of other countries (Africa, ME and Ukraine) and by doing so are creating the refugees waiting at our borders. Politicians and bankers* (as well as some industrialists) rejoice in the thought if the stupid masses go against each other (poor Europeans against poor migrants). Instead of falling into the trap of hating others that got screwed, joining forces would be the right way.
*The greed of politicians and bankers makes them do stupid things.
Auslander
I think its entirely possible that there will be mass defections from Nato countries militaries if it came down to war with Russia. Nobody with skin in the game wants or belives in that fight
I take it that the damage you foresee to your nearby harbor will result from the detonation of non-nuclear weapons (“delivered” perhaps by cruise missiles)? If this occurs in the context of a wider US-Russian shooting war, I find it hard to believe that any such conflict would remain “conventional” for very long. There are just too many launch-ready nuclear weapons on both sides, and too much concern that command and communication systems are too vulnerable to a first-strike. In the heat of battle, if Early Warning Systems detect a variety of launches, will either side choose to “ride out” a potential strike on its nuclear forces?
The neocon fools running US foreign policy appear to be so blinded by their own hubris and propaganda that they appear to believe “Russia will back down” under virtually any circumstances. I think they are wrong, and perhaps it would be better to demonstrate this sooner rather than later, in a circumstance where escalation to full-scale war would be less likely?
A very good article, which gives quite an accurate presentation of what happened. However, history will need to be re written. Many have questioned the two world wars and the necessity of them happening. For example, how on earth did Germany manage to finance two world wars and how did German industry manage to function through both ? Impossible, unless Germany did not have outside help, which she surely did.
As for Russia, she has been invaded numerous times. For example, both Napoleon and Hitler invaded Russia. Both were financed by private bankers, who were fighting a gigantic proxy war. The bankers wanted Russia destroyed. The US stepped into World War Two in December of 1941, when Stalin moved more than a million men to Moscow, and the bankers were terrified that the German Army would suffer the same fate as Napoleons, bearing in mind that in 1814 czar Alexander ended up in Paris. America was brought in to prevent this.
Hitler is defeated in 1945 and NATO is created in 1949. The Warsaw Pact was created only in 1955 in response to the creation of NATO, which took over from Hitler in trying to destroy Russia. How many bases does NATO have which encircle both Russia and China, and for what purpose ? Obviously to destroy both, as Russia and China are the only two entities which can prevent the creation of a globalist banker empire. The bankers created the US, as they did the EU. Both have private central banks run by bankers.
The last paragraph of the article is indeed accurate. By the 1980’s the US was transformed into a police state and now, with the Homelands Security Act, it has been transformed into a military police state. The backbone of NATO is the US, which provides the bulk of the troops and money. This costs money. The bankers are sacrificing the US for their imperial goals. Things are not going according to plan. Instead of Russia imploding, it is now the EU and US that are imploding financially, with the US possessing the highest foreign and domestic debt in the world and the dollar being printed backed by nothing. One analyst has even stated that the US will introduce a new dollar for domestic use. The bankers, on the other hand, are trying to save the situation by provoking a new military conflict. The favorites are Iran and North Korea, with Russia and China being possible favorites, as both have strong military’s, while those of North Korea and Iran cannot be underestimated.
We have now approached a pretty dangerous situation. It remains to be seen how it will progress. The most dangerous aspect of the entire situation is the desperation of the bankers and the Western elite. Miscalculations are indeed possible. It’s a well known fact that crazies on Wall Street are under the impression that Russia can be defeated in a sneak nuclear attack with minimal losses to the US. I have even read articles by analysts that the Pentagon is considering this possibility. I sincerely hope those articles are incorrect.
What is your point about Germany? What outside help are you talking about? I, for one, only see a great nation that can manage “the impossible” when it’s existence is in peril. Much like Russia did, in the most dire situations. (FYI I’m neither German, nor Russian)
Tod
I thought my comment was clear. You cannot fight a war without money. Once again: How on earth did Germany manage to finance two world wars on its own, taking into account the number of enemies it faced in both wars ?
In 1934 when Hitler came to power, The Bank of England have him 1 billion pounds as a present, while the amount of money received from American bankers will never be known. How many investments did US industrialists make in Germany after World War One, like Henry Ford, who produced trucks for the German Army ? These investments were NOT bombed by the Allies during World War Two. Sweden provided Germany with iron ore during both world wars. Why was it not prevented from selling it’s iron ore ?
Both Hitler and Napoleon were financed by private bankers and both attacked Russia. Personally I think that Hitler appeared only because the bankers could not control Stalin, as they did Lenin and Trotsky. Leinin dies in 1924 and Hitler appears in 1925 with that foolish coup d’etat, which fails. Also, is Hitler from the First World War the same Hitler from World War Two, or somebody’s double, trained for the role ? It’s difficult to believe that a second rate artist, who never finished high school and who never went to university could show such a talent for politics, economics and military affairs. The last words on World War two still need to be written.
“The Warsaw Pact was created only in 1955 in response to the creation of NATO”
More precisely, it was created (1955-05-14) in response to the incorporation of West Germany into NATO (1955-05-09).
Let’s not forget that WW I was started by Austria with Germany at its side. As far as I know most European powers of pre-WW I were itching for settling old grudges and to gain more power. British industries faced severe competition from emerging German ones. Great Britain also faced strong competition in the field of oil exploitation. A successful Baghdad railway might’ve been the end of the British Empire. France wanted to settle the score because of permanent conflicts about Alsace-Lorraine. Probably there are many more causes that I’m not aware of. Some sources on the internet say that the reason for the US intervention in Europe was in order to save the loans made to the UK and France. For doing so the sinking of the Lusitania was used to rally the masses. The English site of wikipedia states that rumors about arms shipments are “conspiracy theories”, whereas a report of the Daily Mail confirms a weapons find in the wreck (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1098904/Secret-Lusitania-Arms-challenges-Allied-claims-solely-passenger-ship.html).
With regard to German rearmament you should read William C. Sutton. US industrialists (in cahoots with German industrialists) prepped up the Nazi party. By the way: a socialist industrialist is an oxymoron, so nobody should assume there was much socialism during the reign of the Nazi party. Nazi Germany was a purely neo-liberal project with some social elements chipped in. Amongst the first ones to get detained in concentration camps were Communists, Socialists, union members, etc. Some of the US industrialists / companies that helped prep up Germany for WW II were Hollerith (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gNXfrMR_Lw; “IBM and the Holocaust”), DuPont, Koch Industries, Ford, GM, Prescott Bush, Standard Oil, etc.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE0XMPOkQ6g; “Hitlers amerikanische Geschäftsfreunde – US-Konzerne verdienten am Krieg”). Lots of German industrialists made their fortune during WW II. The Quandt family who gets about 1 billion in dividends from its shares in BMW owe much of their fortune to the Nazi era. Hugo Boss, the large steel mills and many more made a fortune as well. Another aspect that supports the claim of the Nazi era being neo-liberal is all the forced labor used for the benefit of industry and the war machine.
The Nuremberg Laws (race laws) were inspired by the treatment of the black population in the US (read “Hitler’s American Model: The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law” by James Q. Whitman). Concentration camps and death marches were inspired by the US as well. The typical neo-liberal argument of cost-benefit calculation was used to convince people that it’s better to those people deemed unfit was inspired by British and US “thinkers” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:EuthanasiePropaganda.jpg). Especially in the US the idea of killing “unfit” was taken into consideration (watch the short sequence of this silent movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m6OCT8YmfU; “The Black Stork – 1917”). The Kaiser Wilhelm Institute of Anthropology, Human Heredity, and Eugenics got its financing from the Rockefeller Foundation. One of the most famous doctors of this institute is known to many people: Josef Mengele. Compulsory sterilization started in the US (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compulsory_sterilization and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics_in_the_United_States). Goebbels learned his propaganda skills to rally the masses from Edward Bernays.
Since the propaganda of Goebbels was so successful, many politicians could’ve guessed what might be coming. Prior to WW II the Évian Conference was held with many international politicians present. The Jewish population faced blame from two different directions. On one hand they were blamed for Jewish participation in the Bolshevik Revolution and on the other hand they were blamed for being successful bankers. Well, if one considers that banking (rightfully) was considered a disreputable business and that Jews were excluded from many other sources of income, they had to resort to banking. After generations of successful banking they were blamed for being so successful in their field of work.
On a side note: The surprise attack on Pearl Harbor wasn’t that much of a surprise as many post-war historians wanted to make us believe (http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/09/world-war-two-not-just-war.html and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSjTZ6uC0ZY; “Peter Kuznick: Three False Myths Americans Believe”).
In my opinion the German population was used as the useful idiots for getting rid of “evil communism” and / or to weaken / destroy the USSR. Bankers (US, German and all the others “winning in WW II) got what they paid for: German thoroughness wiped out millions of people. Since dead people can’t reclaim their deposited money or money paid into some insurance, it was a hell of a business for the money changers (not even mentioning all the other transactions of large companies).
In present times those neo-liberal forces looking for a new scapegoat and they found it in the Muslim population. In many Western countries societies have been atomized, whilst Muslims are still more traditional. in Western families it’s expected for a child to move out as soon as it’s turning 18. Muslims in the West are a more close-knit society. Sometimes children live with their parents and relatives until they marry. Even then, they don’t necessarily move out (and live in quite some close space). Everyone chips in money, which is used for a family business, for buying real estate or in some cases to support the youngest family member. I’ve witnessed several times other Westerners wonder how some young Muslims can finance expensive cars. They never thought about the difference in family values, which got destroyed a long time ago. Hardcore feminists will shout down everyone who respects the decision to wear some head scarf, whilst forgetting that head scarfs are still wide spread in the Russian Federation. (Female visitors entering the grounds of monasteries are required to wear a head scarf.) Religion (be it Jewish, Christian or Muslim) doesn’t get along with Western hardcore feminism.
*Before anyone attempts to attack me for criticizing feminism: Sit down read and think again if I’m attacking each and every progress being made by women’s rights movements or if I’m pointing out the aspects in which feminists overshot their goals.
Socialist industrialists: the great Quaker families of Rowntree, Fry and Cadbury to name a few. The workers housing villages they built, Port Sunlight, Bourneville. The Co-operatives, still going today, the grocery chain, bank, insurance giant, recently privatised so now going down the pan. John Lewis and the Waitrose empire, all socialist industrialist organisations.
You don’t know the half of your socialist history, mate.
And what about the Fugger banking family, and the workers cottages they built in Augsburg, called the Fuggerei?
https://www.creators.com/read/travel-and-adventure/08/14/touring-augsburgs-fuggerei-worlds-oldest-housing-settlement
Not that this exonerates all bankers; but still, might as well try to round out the picture and look at some positive models.

one minion
There’s no such thing as a socialist industrialist. Several large industrialists provided some cheap housing for their workers or company shops. They were willing to share a higher percentage of their earnings, but they were not socialist.
According to the logic you’re using Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, etc. are socialist, because they pay billions in bonuses for their investment bankers.
National socialist Germany gassed the people they deemed undesirable, because shooting them would’ve been way more expensive (cost for ammunition production, cost of supplies, labor cost and all the other factors). Another reason for gassing people was that ammunition was needed for the front lines. It’s simply cost-benefit thinking.

If you’re filthy rich, then spending some change on some dirty folks doesn’t make much of a difference.
“Katherine
If you’re filthy rich, then spending some change on some dirty folks doesn’t make much of a difference.”
Filthy Rich: I expect it does make quite a difference to quite a few folks.
It is not me saying “dirty folks.”
Katherine
Katherine
I have used the term “dirty folks”. In many cases (especially nowadays) the show of donating is more expensive than the worth of the donation itself. I’m pretty sure some of the rich folks (not everyone) regard the poor as dirty folks (think of “fly-over country” and those using such terms).
In the past several industrialists provided houses / apartments for their employees. They were willing to share more of their earnings. This makes them more social (or less greedy) than others, but that doesn’t make them “socialist”. The term “socialist” reflects a certain approach to ownership of private property.
Co-operatives are something entirely different. They may be part of a socialist environment, but they’re not unique to socialist countries. A while ago I had seen a report about some Californian based company owned by its workers and managed by them as well. (Even co-operatives aren’t perfect. Over the course of time they’re doomed to get more capitalist.)
If we use to misappropriate meanings, then people don’t have to wonder when we don’t understand each other when communicating. Once people believed USAID was some altruistic program to further the well-being of the aid recipients.
Anonymous,
Pure logic has its limitations. It’s a wise move to discover where those limitations lie and apply them.
BTW, I ignore the big names you mention because they are beyond, way beyond redemption and will go the way of all things, eventually.
Life is short.

Here’s a nice song for you:

The killings in the labor camps were not a necessity to save ammunition, the entire ammunition storage of France, Poland, Holland, Czechoslovakia were used by the Germans. They used also captured tanks, machines etc from Brits and USSR. In the labor camps were produced merely weapons and munitions and other stuff for the military. I don’t think, the nazis managed to bring in so many people for forced labor by rail, in order to kill them quickly, no, they exploited them till the last drop. By the way, the German Higher Command (OKW) was very aware of the struggling supply routes which were overstretched, mainly after the opening of the second front, with deep and daily bombardments, when the German military had to deploy troops in various locations from east to west and south by rotation.
“Amongst the first ones to get detained in concentration camps were Communists, Socialists, union members, etc. Some of the US industrialists / companies that helped prep up Germany for WW II were Hollerith (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gNXfrMR_Lw; “IBM and the Holocaust”), DuPont, Koch Industries, Ford, GM, Prescott Bush, Standard Oil, etc.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE0XMPOkQ6g; “Hitlers amerikanische Geschäftsfreunde – US-Konzerne verdienten am Krieg”). ”

“whilst forgetting that head scarfs are still wide spread in the Russian Federation”
The obsession with scarfs is really weird.
Silk scarfs were a major fashion statement in the fifties.
Jacqueline Kennedy; Brigitte Bardot; Gina Lollogbrigida.
I think I may have noted this in the past at this blog—but I just find it so odd that silk scarves have gone down the memory hole.
I don’t think anyone called them “head” scarfs.
The designer Vera made a ton of money with her silk scarves, most of them square, designed to be folded and worn on the head and tied under the chin or tied again at the nape of the neck, to protect bouffant hairdos from the wind while their owners were racing around in sports cars, or maybe on the back of a motorcycle (my own case—not mandated helmets in the bad ol’ days!). Or even a scooter (when in Rome . . .) jUst add oversize dark glasses to complete the sophisticated look.

When my husband served with BAOR (Wolfenbuttel and Fallingbostel) 1973-1975, the wives and girlfriends all wore Hermès silk scarves. I was 25-27

Your opening line, “Let’s not forget that WW I was started by Austria with Germany at its side. …”, is false.
You can look at a reasonable (yet still suspect) review of the activities leading up to The Great War in Margaret MacMillan‘s “The War That Ended Peace“ ( https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/105817/the-war-that-ended-peace-by-margaret-macmillan/9780812980660/ )
But there is a pattern that has been seen many times; though it is easy to illustrate, and has been illustrated very well, even as early as 1956… you’re not allowed to talk about it.
But acclaimed author and war correspondent Douglas Reed wrote it down and it is yet available online at: http://www.controversyofzion.info/Controversybook/reeedcontrov.pdf “The Controversy of Zion” clearly and objectively presents a fact-based portrayal of the evolution of a creed of negative sum gain game-playing by an international highly cohesive collective, obsessed with utter destruction and/or domination.
An example of this type of manipulation can be observed in the following quote to the digital version of the book at the site mentioned above, p. 366 (of 395):
Dissident X
I don’t really care if Zionists, the Brits, the French or whatever group started WW I. My whole point was to say: Some Austrian Monarch got whacked and this led to the start of WW I. Germany willingly joined the war, but it didn’t start it.
It’s pretty clear that your “bankers” are actually (((bankers))).
Why not call them out? I know our masters are those who cannot be named, but if we fail to even name them then our (((masters))) they will remain.
Going to the past, or at least understanding the past makes sense because to predict the future we must understand the past.
What happens to Russia on 1990 or Former Yugoslavia 0n 1995 – 1999 was a tragedy, but tragedies happens to Hungarians on 1920 Treaty of Trianon:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Trianon
It happens at Germans on 1946 Potsdam Conference, (July 17–August 2, 1945), and more and more if we go a lttle backward in History beyond the year 1914.
The reality is as it is. The new reality crates challenges for many nations in EU and Balkans.
If we take a look what is going to Greece, the membership to EU cost them dearly. Austerities because of Privatization indicate the results of Looting a Nation by the Corporate.
Hope Serbian are listening and learning how to deal with the new REALITY.
Try with any cost to stay away of N.A.T.O and EU membership.
as a Serb I agree with you. If Serbia joins EU and NATO – we will probably end up like Greece

“The problem is us/nato knows they can not defeat Russia in a conventional war and they know a ‘non conventional’ war will see the utter and total destruction of at least the northern half of our home planet.”
Does this go some way to explaining the mystery of trillions of dollars being poured into South America/Patagonia/Antarctica region?
Yes, Babushka, I think so. They plan ahead, very long term.
Unfortunately for them, in the event of using the nuclear option, even of a limited type, there really is no hiding place.
Its a bit like the term ‘moderate headchopper’ or ‘a little bit pregnant’ —-inescapable consequences coming like an unstoppable train down the line.
I had thought about that. But I seem to remember that that part of South America, and also New Zealand (the other Elite bug-out location) being prone to earthquakes, some of which can be quite severe.
I even imagined all of these elites flying off to their Southern Hemisphere hideaways in their private jets, and just before they get there a series of severe earthquakes break up the runways of all the jet-capable airports, leaving their jets low on fuel with no place to land!
Think of the entourage they’d have to take with them, pilots and pilots families for a start. How long before the service/security people figure out the odds in the new reality and turn on their masters?
I think I have read that the Bush family and others are buying up and putting together huge tracts of land in Patagonia.
Katherine
They already own vast ranches in Uruguay, I believe, just in case.
Never satisfied, which is why we can guess about the entourage needed, no amount of security will ever be enough.
Katherine it was 300,000 acres in Paraguay behind a US military base.
Very interesting article.
One point I’m curios (and anxious) about, and I hope you, or The Saker, could research on:
What happens after Putin?
Because right now it seem like a “one man show”. Putin did this, Putin did that, and it’s not just propaganda, he really is a powerful and tough leader, and it really seems he got Russia back up, mostly by sheer power of will. Do you think Putin is preparing to pass the reign to someone capable(in the future)? Do you think there are people in Russia who could “keep up the fight” after Putin is gone?
I understand how this can be a delicate subject, but, nevertheless he’s 65, until when he’ll be able to reign, without losing his edge? Because if he doesn’t leave someone capable in his stead, there is a high chance this Russian resurgence will be just a spark, and Russia will return to being a former empire, like the Turks, or something similar.
I am so often moved by the positive and warm (sometimes even cheeky) connections between Mr Putin and young people/kids- be they journalists, researchers, gymnasts, sports people, I have no doubt that any number of fine people are being mentored to replace Mr Putin, come the day…
We just have to keep fighting the good fight, raising our hearts and minds to God, caring for each other, each in our own unique way.
We are blessed to be in the Saker Community.
That’s all good and well, but “the other forces” will be prepared and waiting for the day when Putin is no more (in one way or another, I sure hope he can take a pension some day and enjoy his legacy).
They always are.
And all the goodwill in the world will not help defend against an enemy with a well laid plan. I hope Russia is prepared, I hate to think what would happen with the region if Russia goes back to the nineties. And that’s from a country that sees Russia as the devil, I think I may be “special”. Lol
Yes I do believe we’re on the same page in our awareness of other forces/factions.
Nevertheless, our Christian duty is to Honour God, however our own personal con-science moves us to Honour Him.
Amongst my all-time favourite people who have walked this Earth are George of Lydda ( St George);
St Nicholas and Princess Elisabeth of Russia who, following her husband’s death became a nun. She was subsequently martyred. I am aware of how the story plays out for too many.
Do our best, anyway.
Putin is a very intelligent man. He once said “there are plenty of people in Russia who can do my job. I just happened to here”. Of course, none of us believe that one.
But I think you will find that Vladimir Putin is more aware than most that the most important part of any country is it’s systems. Advanced Systems Theory shows us that every thing – every single thing – is part of a set of systems.
Primarily they begin as Simple Systems, then these merge to form increasingly Complex Systems. You cannot build a Complex System from scratch – you can only create simple ones, and leave them to naturaly form their own complexity. Also, you cannot fix a broken Complex System – you have to tear it down and start again
Putin has told his proxies, [he does not take part in pre-Election hustings, since he continues with his Presidential duties] that what must be done in the coming 6 years, is to build on the domestic scene [this is his Presidential campaign], education, health, science, industry, military, social support, such that “they have a built in momentum, so that, even if in 6 years time some things are still not working so well, the momentum will have become unstoppable”. In other words, he is now building on what he started 18 yrs ago, to the point where the Complex systems are so strongly in place with their own momentum that it doesn’t matter who is elected – the Systems will go on. I notice part of the systems he is building, has been to put in place youngish people, around mid- 30’s who are free of the old way of thinking, they have no resentment that modern Russia isn’t the Soviet, they have no desire for Communism, they have degrees in Sciences, in Management, and they are forward looking, energetic and very competent as well as very patriotic.
Putin also said “it’s a mistake to put your faith in one person. You should put your faith in the entire Russian people” I suspect that that is what he has been building towards. So — I shouldn’t worry. I suspect he also is planning to have aided America in it’s collapse, so that by then, it can’t touch Russia anyway.
A political genius.
An astute comment, Isabella. My thoughts on the subject, too, clearly and simply expressed. Thanks.
In my view, this comment is on topic, though its not about The Ukraine or Russia, and I thank the moderator re another comment made by a poster, that was not on topic, but still completely brilliant for allowing it to stand, otherwise I would almost certainly not have read it. Incidentally, there is a girl from Eastern Ukraine, who goes down my local pub, in London, where I am about to go. Her name is Victoria
The Lessons of history
Looks like The US Government, are not only completely out of their depth, they are looking complete and utter morons in Korea. Of course the Americans do the same here in Europe. It seems the Koreans North and South are going to unite, and tell the incredibly embarrassingly stupid Americans to go home, and take their weapons of mass destruction with them.
We should do the same here in Europe and England. If the Scots want to be their “Best Friends” and join the American Controlled EU.. then that is up to them. I used to think they were clever, cos they used to be clever. They invented The Telly didn’t they? Now produced in Korea who are seriously embarrassing The Americans by being nice to their fellow Koreans, who the Americans seem to think they hate.

Tony
There are, as is to be perfectly expected, striking similarities as well as stark contrasts between today’s world politics/conflicts and those of the early 20th century.
Looking at Russia, she was then a typical case of what would be an IMF colony today. A brutal, oppressive, yet weak, regime passing on its odious debt to its hapless subjects. Germany with her imperialist as well as deeply racist sense of entitlement to Russia’s wealth plus her strong, ambitious leadership proved too much for Czarist Russia — the God-awful treaty of Brest-Litovsk speaks for itself (indeed, Yeltsin’s reign brought about similar catastrophic humiliations for the country).
Today, Russia has no debt obligations to Western imperialism while the latter is only staying afloat thanks to all-out financial plundering and misappropriation of the global industrial output to which it contributes less and less. This is, at bottom, a striking similarity to what materialised at the beginning of the 20th century: Germany had industrialised on her own, not resorting to enslavement, genocide, and looting or even foreign banks. This was, of course, correctly perceived as a serious threat because it meant that there were no massive waste neither on permanent oppression, coercion, and violence, nor on usury to suffocate the German productive economy. Russia and China today appear threatening for precisely these reasons too. Only this time, their adversaries are entirely a bunch of parasitic has-beens totally committed to mayhem and war.
Ultimately, Germany failed because her ruling Elite wholeheartedly embraced the Western imperialist Weltanschau. Russia and China, by contrast, don’t suffer from this ideological mindrot and are working to free the developing world from the fiat currency regime of the West. This is the truly striking difference as compared to the early 20th century.
Germany attempted to play the colonial game as well. The main difference is that it didn’t last as long as the ones of the other players, but there was cruelty as well. There was also German involvement in the Boxer Rebellion in China.
As I wrote: “Germany failed because her ruling Elite wholeheartedly embraced the Western imperialist Weltanschau” (with tacit emphasis on the word “wholeheartedly”). Imperial Germany took part in heinous acts of genocide in China and Africa simply because that was what a “civilized Western country” was expected to do. The main difference to Britain, France, the US, and Japan was that Germany had no need for it whatsoever. It was done purely on vocation.
As for Nazi Germany, it was a Western genocidal frenzy targeting Eastern Europe in general and the USSR in particular, including all the insane racist depravities which were elevated to a de facto state religion, much like the US at the time.
My mistake. I didn’t realize that wholeheartedly and Weltanschau included the attempt at colonialism as well.
The Geopolitics of the last century is well summed up in this article. The key fact is that Russia is now a much more unified and cohesive state than the USA and most of the west is, which would have seemed impossible in the 1990s with the chechen war, mass poverty and Yeltsin in a tank . USA citizens now regularly seem to hate each other, which is a natural result of a society which encourages Greed as a noble characteristic. The changes in Russia are not just down to Vladimir Putin, but due to the majority of Russian citizens seeing first hand the greed, corruption, poverty, shallowness and nihilistic experience of the shiny western neoliberal democratic model. Its completely an alien worldview to the Russian mentality.
After this, no one can say in honesty that they want this type of government back unless they were within that capitalist elite or a true sadist. The western commentators keep on saying ‘what will happen to Russia if Putin dies or gets incapacitated? and ‘After Putin, Russia will fall apart and collapse into dozens of pro western and islamic republics!!’’. In reality what clearly will happen is a figure similar to Putin will take power, maintain the same geopolitical stance and remain a sovereign nation. The successor will likely be even more national oriented and anti Atlanticist than Putin.
In Europe, Macronist France and neoliberal Skandinavia are leading the line as Anglo puppets, East Europe is ruled as a military colony and brothel for the Anglo, Latin Europe is under the direct rule of the IMF/EU debt slavery…Germany is the key now. Germans are sick of USA and UK, do they want to fight Russia again? No way, not even the most extreme Neo Nazi are stupid enough to suggest that. The NATO talk of a war against Russia has genuinely terrified most Germans. There is feeling that a lower key ‘soft’ war is being fought against Germany as well as Russia. The whole VW scandal is a key example, Anglo auto corportations have been lying about emissions for years, but they choose to punish a German company that happens to be a key competitor.
The same way as they punished all Russian sportspeople on a fictitious basis while western athletes can miss drugs tests and use materials to gain advantage (like the UK skeleton team using performance suits to reduce air resistance- three medals for a country without snow or even its own sliding track!) .The key roles of global sport and corporate law are in the hands of people from USA, UK, Canada and Skandinavia, so those countries can do no wrong… Its a technique the Anglo specialise in, slowly culturally demoralising and humiliating its rivals through cultural/economic means . They created the Me Too movement as a tool to spread Anglo social norms of perverted puritanism and hatred of true women throughout the world, a view where heterosexual behaviour is unnacceptable yet homesexuality is worshipped. Watching the Winter Olympics is impossible with the Russian flag banned and OAR in its place, yet its still not enough, they wanted to ban Russia completely…Each time they show the USA, UK and Canada flag being raised for a medal, its like masturbation for the Anglo elite, reassuring themselves that their tricks are working.
The Russian Eagle must turn its heads East to China and West to Germany! Beijing, Tehran, Moscow, Berlin and everywhere in between must be allies. Any attempts to create tensions between them will come from the Anglo.. who have EVERYTHING to lose if land based trade takes over from sea..
“In Europe, Macronist France and neoliberal Scandinavia are leading the line as Anglo puppets”
Needless to say, the competition in Europe for the award of most devout Anglo puppet is stiff indeed, LOL. If, however, the competition is confined to Western Europe, then GeoPol is correct. While I’m not sure about Macronist France — except for the fact that it’s Western Europe’s most die-hard Zionist puppet state — in Scandinavia, it’s definitely the role as braindead Anglo puppet which prevails. Sweden looks ever more squalid with her government, “elite”, and media being totally committed to pure imbecilic Russophobia and neoliberal kleptocracy. As the US Empire really faces terminal prolapse, it’s as if its most insignificant lackeys feel some kind of Holy Duty to suck up to Massa. Sweden’s defence minister is not only a despicable, very vocal NATO propagandist; he literally puts (others) money where his mouth is, ordering American junk for the “benefit” of Sweden’s armed forces.
VW didn’t need any outside help to eff up. I’ve never understood why VW was hyped that much in the 90’s. Their cars were crap. You’ll have to force me to buy VW, Audi, Porsche or BMW. (All gained size during the Nazi era.) VW even got protected by a politician in a high place, otherwise several German customers would’ve filed a class action suit. Just recently the Lower Saxony
Porsche copied the design of the “famous” Beetle from Tatra.
Remember the scandal about ADAC, the German automotive club. They got bribed in order to favor shitty cars over cars of better quality. The same game still goes on.
Mercedes / Daimler isn’t much better. They’re getting hyped beyond reason. Remember the scandal a few years ago? They’ve promised (in a bragging manner) a 30year warranty against rust. When their cars showed first signs of rust rules got bend in their favor. Courts ruled that the 30 year warranty applies only for cars that’ve been checked by authorized repair shop in regular intervals.
BMW doesn’t get listed in ADAC statistics of break downs, because BMW got their own service number in case of a defect.
German automotive industries (BMW, VW, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes) have been involved in tests with monkeys and (!) humans. They’re blocking / delaying electric cars with all the power they can muster. Although I’m in favor of supporting the local economy, I’ll not support any of those companies. I’ll rather buy a car from our French neighbors.
“Its a technique the Anglo specialise in, slowly culturally demoralising and humiliating its rivals through cultural/economic means . They created the Me Too movement as a tool to spread Anglo social norms”
It is really nauseating, Regarding the #meToo thing, I sense there is something wrong here, but what surprises me is that I have encountered *a few* other women who are not comfortable with where and how this seems to be going. Also of course a couple of men, who hardly dare say boo until they hear a word of skepticism from me.
Not sure the idea is *puritan* or spreading Anglo social norms. there are plenty of non-Anglos are *meTooers (I think). I don’t think the movement is reallya bout spreading norms, but is quite insular and navel gazing, basically. But I think maybe it is one of the *permissable* expressions of hysteria that are abroad in the USA. We cannot stop the endless wars, we cannot talk about the coup in Dallas, we cannot get any traction on the truth of 9/11, we cannot stop these bloody wars, we cannot fix a totally dysfunctional govt—basically, all branches—very few have any social safety net; guns and violence are rampant in US society, people are under enormous stress from work, inadequate health care, bills/debts, etc. etc. etc.
Who really has brought all of this about? I’m sorry to have to say this, but men basically have been in charge of our economy, our government, basically our professions and research infrastructure, etc. the whole time. And have created this mess. There is fury out there on all sides, with no visible possibility of constructive expression. The *meToo movement is a gigantic distraction and gives (some) people a sense that they are actually accomplishing something to change society for the better. But they are not really attacking the underlying system. But possibly *meToo has some potential to crack open a few of the other issues.
OTOH, so many of these women are heavily invested in Hillary and the Obama-Hill Dem Party. What I don’t get is why they are not going after Bill Clinton, ex post facto.
Check Sane Progressive and Cabin Talk. Debbie and Claudia are inspiring women.

Your comment is correct. However, does Germany have the strength to join the Russian-Chinese-Iranian economic and political camp ? It remains to be seen. Those US troops in Germany are there to prevent this. The influx of false immigrants into Germany was done on purpose, to create political, social, economic and ethnic tensions in Germany and subvert it from within.
As I have written before, Germany theoretically has a better chance of solving it’s internal problems than France, which will face huge ethnic problems. Germany’s chance will come once the dollar loses it’s world reserve status and the petro-yuan takes over. After that the US will have trouble financing all those military bases it has outside America as well as financing NATO. The US knows it. However, the question is will it do anything foolish prior to the dollar collapse. We shall see.
There are no false immigrants in Germany. With each glass of Nutella that you’re consuming you’re assisting those who’re pushing aside those indigenous population in Indonesia (palm oil) and those pushed aside in South America (where the Hazelnuts for Nutella originate). Can you really guarantee that you’re using gasoline made by oil from Russia or Saudi Arabia? As long as people are ignorant about the supply chain, nothing will change. Our choices which products to buy or not to by contribute to the problem. Probably I’m assisting exploiters myself by buying gasoline, clothing (probably produced by exploiters), coffee (with beans probably harvested by children), … Germany assists in producing Afghan refugees (due to the presence of German military in Afghanistan).
Before labeling others as false immigrants you should have a very close look at the connections. (Many things are interconnected.)
If you don’t want any refugees / immigrants: Don’t produce them in the first place.
P.S.: Economic migrants in my area speak Saxon, Bavarian and several other German dialects.
Anonymous
No, your comment cannot be accepted. When I write, Those false refugees who poured into Germany from Greece did not come from Afghanistan. Analysts on the ground have concluded that barely 5 % of “refugees” are in fact refugees, while more than 95 % are the unemployed from third world countries. When Russia intervened in Syria, one million Syrian refugees returned to Syria from Turkey, while at the same time more than a million went to Germany, many of them with false Syrian passports. This is well known. Among Syrian “refugees” you had people from Morocco, Algeria, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
It doesn’t surprise me that others tried to escape their by claiming to be a “Syrian” refugee. To state that nobody came from Afghanistan isn’t correct. I’m not going to state any numbers or percentages since I don’t have reliable data available.
Instead of considering the economic links you’re dismissing my whole comment.
Lots of homeless in German cities are from Eastern Europe. (Afaik the situation in France is similar.) Those unemployed Eastern Europeans don’t find jobs in their native countries for a reason. Large international companies have bought / rented large areas of Eastern European countries and employ modern technology to farm the land. Those who once could make a living from small farming can’t compete with those large businesses. They’re getting pushed out.
You’re free to ignore the connections, but this will not make the problem go away.
B.F. wrote: “However, does Germany have the strength to join the Russian-Chinese-Iranian economic and political camp ? It remains to be seen. Those US troops in Germany are there to prevent this.”
Conventional troops are worthless in peacetime. If the presence of the US military makes it easier to threaten, bribe, or assassinate prominent German businessmen and politicians, then you may have a point. However, it would not be too hard for the Germans to use non-sanctioned neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan to facilitate trade with Russia.
Let’s take broader perspective and look what’s happening in Asia and continent of demographic giant of Africa: Empire is loosing all them. China not only is winning with its OBOR. It will connect Africa to it.
Don’t you ever make that serious mistake and underestimate Africa. Chinese know exactly how important that continent will be in future. And the future has just started. Amazing change is going on.
The Africa connection is already operational:
The OBOR sea-rail network through East Africa is progressing:
– The Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway was completed in October 2016.
– The Mombasa-Nairobi railway was inaugurated in March last year 2016 – “the largest project since the country gained independence in 1964.”
– Landlocked Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and South Sudan are next to be connected to the Indian Ocean via the Mombasa and onward to China – and to Russia.
Rail infrastructure etc. is all well and good, but there are other developments in Africa that do not look so great or particularly well thought through:

The article claiming that “rainfall is declining as a result of global warming” is nonsense. In fact climate history has always proved that global cooling is what increased deserts in Africa and means decreasing raining. Global warming means more greening, more drain. It’s one of the reasons why farming crops are now record high. Ice Age is the real danger not only for Europeans and North Americans but also terrible danger for Africa.
Indeed, Russia cannot be defeated in a conventional war, and nuclear war is suicide.
So what then do the enemies of humanity do?
They pursue war by other means.
This includes every imaginable conspiracy you’ve likely every heard of, and quite a few you probably haven’t, in addition to the real and smaller proxy wars which are leveraged for the most important fight of all — the war for psychological control of subject populations.
Here we fight a war for hearts and minds, on a front sometimes called the information battlespace, and it is here that all of us who know the stakes participate, on this still influental blog, which remains a major front as far as modern warfare goes.
Auslaner you give us the choice of Mattis and McMaster versus Putin and Lavrov. This is a false choice. None of these individuals make decisions in the way it is generally perceived, and very often they work together. The real choice is between the people that we love, and those who wish to destroy us. In consolation I would suggest Putin, Lavrov and Russia do represent the people who love their families and fight for Truth, but they are spinning wheels and do not make the final decisions.
Final decisions are made by people after power, and the ‘good guys’ will only consider Truth and humanity if they are relentlessly forced to do so by people like us. When Putin and Lavrov sit with the people who do make real decisions, they must know that our Truth and Love stand behind Putin and Lavrov, so they may leverage it against people who sometimes, often or usually don’t care.
Unfortunately the trend is very bad, and for the seven plus years I have been coming here it’s only gotten worse. The oligarchs on all sides now control institutions employing armies of web sayanim, and for these people the Truth is mostly a nuissance, unless it occaisonally serves their purpose.
My greater point is that in order for Truth and Love to finally win, we will have to constantly find ways to remind the people who want to do good of their and our humanity, with all it’s strengths and weaknesses. We must constantly remind ourselves that the battlespace is within each of us, and in so doing never accept to fight the war on battlefields chosen by psychopaths and liars.
You make the most profound of points, Where Wolf.
Imho, the space between the ears of most inhabitants of “democratic” countries has been occupied and colonised by party politics, and increasingly by identity politics. This is a divide and conquer strategy designed to turn nation states into collections of squabbling rabble, ill equiped to reognise, let alone fight, the forces that have reduced them to this pathetic existence. The “oligarchs” fund the political parties and the oligarchs own the media organisations that devote so much energy to portraying the “conflict” between the political parties as somehow being all about the best outcome for the people. The problem the oligarchs face is that it is true that you cannot fool all of the people, all of the time. People are getting wise to the game being played and they are waking up others, and a slow but steady and inexorable rise in the number of “awake” individuals is taking place.
As this happens the mechanisms required to remain in control will need to become increasingly draconian, and ultimately the oligarchs will wind up in a position where they will have all the costs of controlling populations without the compounding benefits of those populations willing productivity and consumption. In short the oligarchs will force themselves top move from economic dominance to physical dominance and the exercise of raw physical power.
The Mockingjay movie series with Jennifer Lawrence as chief protagonist is an interesting portrayal of what the end stages of the scenario might look like.
One way of avoiding that scenario might be to set in motion a global movement that explains the situation directly to the voting public and encourages the standing for election of independent representatives who are prepared to work together to change the relationship between the oligarchs and the democratic nation states and the people that comprise those states. Such an organisation would need to be grass roots, as the media would doubtless ignore its existence. Get enough independents into any legislature and the party(oligarchy) agenda can be subverted, disrupted and ultimately thrown out in favor of an agenda that addresses the real needs and aspirations of the nation’s people.
what you say reminds me of my favorite quote from HOBBIT when Gendalf tells Lady Galadria that:…”Sauron thinks it’s only powerful and famous people whose actions make difference – but it’s actually normal people who can make the biggest difference with their little day-to-day actions..” something like that (it’s the scene after the meeting at Riverdale as dwarfs started leaving.
It’s difficult to assess what NATO is really up to (except that they’re up to no good). In any case the military planners want to reinforce streets and bridges in Eastern Europe, so that military hardware can be moved eastward in “case of emergency”. Maybe it’s just the game of trying to put more pressure on Belarus and the Russian Federation, maybe those dimwits are really planning a conventional attack.
Since the reason for all wars boils down to money, the Russian military should consider to wipe out banks and politicians first.
Anti-Trumpists Use Mueller Indictments to Escalate Tensions With Nuclear-Armed Russia.
…Democrats, it is time to stop letting them bait you into calling for even more escalations with a nuclear superpower and start calling for detente instead. Republicans, it is time for you to stop putting partisan politics ahead of the survival of our species and start pushing against these dangerous escalations that your president has been playing right along with. These escalations are extremely dangerous and getting ever more so, and in the name of all that is holy I implore you to stop before the unthinkable happens.
On my knees I beg you all to stop this madness, for the sake of my children and yours. You lunatics on both sides of the political divide are going to get us all killed. In God’s name, stop. Please.

I think Vietnam belongs on this list.
And waht about the color revolutions in Eastern Europe.
And, like it or not, the USA meddled in USSR, Russia, other successor states, West Germany, in Ukraine, in Africa (not just Congo).
Weirdly, also, the USA has enabled Israel and Zionists to meddle USA elections.

1966: Assassination of prime minister HF Verwoerd of South Africa, who took the country out of the British Commonwealth and led it to independence, and then set about to try and undo the effects of it’s colonial history.
Add Greece to the list as well.
The following video is worth watching (especially the last minute or so): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpWai3kZ-gM – “James Woolsey on the Russians’ efforts to disrupt elections”
In general terms James Woolsey confirms the existence of Gladio (although he doesn’t use the word).
“The fall of the Russian Empire, to a more or less great extent by it’s own hand”
It’s a great comment/article, but of course bolshevism wasn’t a self inflicted wound, there’s a great deal of history behind the constant attacks on Russia through the ages which forms a continuous hostility that is still not just evident today, but reaching a fever pitch: aimed at Russia by the very same people.
The story of their enemy starts in Babylon where they picked up the Talmud and the occult signs like the Star of Moloch which forms todays fictional ‘Star of David’ on their flag, then regroups in Khazaria over 700 years later when they were dealt with by Russia – hence the grudge – and became the threat they are today by disguising their pharisee roots and occult religion by inventing the new word ‘jew’ and ‘judaism’ in 1775 so they could infiltrate Christian countries and groups.
This has been aided by re-editing and producing bibles like the Scofield Edition which is the zio/pharisees altering history again – something they are masters at.

History rhyming: Some saw it coming in 1911; some see it coming (again) today.
In respect of Russia: “… a bearskin cannot be bought before the bear is killed!”
Need more be said?
“In return for giving up entirely the financial control of Egypt, and to reimburse our capitalists for their participation in the Bagdad project, the London Cabinet made us a present of Morocco. They gave it all the more willingly since it did not belong to them, and we can see today from what happened at Fez that a bearskin cannot be bought before the bear is killed! However that may be, M. Delcasse, henceforth inseparably allied with the fortune of England, soon committed himself to a policy of encircling Germany and dragging us into a war with her. We know how he was ousted by Rouvier in 1905.”

“Russia was prostrate after 1918, rebuilt herself by the 1930’s and attacked again in 1941”. Russia attacked again? Hmm. I realize you mean Russia was attacked (don’t you?), but this really jars.
Yup, left out the ‘was’, should read ‘was attacked again’.
Aus, as excellent as your writing is, you have fallen into Western narrative about nato moves around Russia. The missile rings around Russia are not defensive. They are totally aggressive. Thanks again
Anonius
We are fully aware just how ‘defensive’ those missile batteries are, in this country ‘we’ means including everyone down to just above kindergarten level. It takes but minutes, from what I’ve read and been told, to change the system from an anti missile battery to a cruise missile launching battery and I have precisely zero doubts about the fact that whatever goodies to do that change are within arm’s reach of said batteries.
One thing the soldiers manning the batteries should never forget, though. If the enemy is with range, so are you.
Auslander
Good article. As an immigrant, arriving here half a century ago, at the ripe old age of 3, it is sad for me to see how far this adopted country of mine has fallen, even within the last decade. This generation of “leaders” (really rulers) are the most corrupt in its history. To me it looks like the ghosts of Tammany Hall have resurrected on shores of the Potomac. They appear more like Mafia clans than separate political parties, one party being like the Gambino, the other like the Genovese, and each crying out that one is worst than the other, Helped along the way, by the media and newspapers, which they have “in their pockets”, like the scene involving the Corleone characters from the first Godfather film. Appearing to fight each other in front of the cameras, but I’m sure behind the scenes working things out to benefit themselves and their re-election bids. Because to them politics is just a career. The citizens are just the middleman used to achieve their retirement benefits. And throw in the military, which is run more like a business than for the defense of the country. The business of politics in America couldn’t get much better. They”ll shout out the usual slogans of “defending democracy” and send YOUR loved ones overseas, while they’re safely in the comforts of their hotel rooms. Even worse is the complete ignorance of my fellow citizens, caught up in their “two minutes of hate” (to quote “1984”) against common sense. They’ll never wake up, even if it appears to be too late. It disgusts me to no end.
“are you to believe in the likes of Tillerson and Mattis, in the likes of a country whose president has no real power to this day and in my opinion is the midst of an ongoing and vicious coup d’etat against the legally elected government and the president . . .”
The biggest problem with the American empire is its mass, Its endless source of lackeys, of which Trump is one. They’re an army of warts. Don’t like Tillerson and Mattis? Take Trudeau, take his dirty diapers and wet tissues. Take Merkel. Take her as she is, the hunchback of democracy. Take some phantom harpy from the Baltics. I’ll be short. You aim too much at America. Meanwhile, its lackeys destroy you. If you’re going to plead to America, make your time useful. Ask America to help solve the Nazi problem in Canada, not the Nazi problem in the Ukraine. You discuss the Ukraine with “America,” you imply it has a place in the discussion. Give the Empire something to gain from conflict. You give it nothing but a dialogue, which keeps a bullseye on Russia. All it sees is Russia. Feed the monster something besides Russia. Feed it itself.
“. . . whose military is a half assed experiment in social engineering and is scattered all across the globe with no real power in any one given area . . .”
Its power is that it’s scattered. After watching a Hollywood movie, the kids in Dubai put on their American flag shirts and feel alive thinking they’re part of something. They also have coke bottles in their fridge and English words in their collective brain. My point is, social engineering is the war. The publicity machine is the nuke.
“A country that actively stifles any descent against its will all over this globe and is steadily moving to war against a nuclear armed country that has displayed no aggression since 1990?”
Stifles, yes. But by now, all of its lackeys run the globe. They aren’t being stifled. They are being led. Joe Biden showed up to the Munich security conference and threatened Putin’s life (as I understand it). Why? Who invited him? Don’t you realize they were happy and excited to see him?
“A country that is rapidly turning in to an economic disaster and becoming a police state the likes of which Goebbels and Beria would love and admire . . .”
Why is America more of an Economic disaster than, say, Mexico. Or Canada, or Japan, never mind Cameroon. There are several things America can eat before it starves. You’re making America the center of attention, always, on everything. It’s an idol. It’s not worshiped, or is it? The problem is it’s your idol. And isn’t that how this whole problem began? The kid with the biggest mouth had always been put in the corner. Now he’s on a pedestal.
I don’t think there was any pleading to America in the piece—- context… context.
Mr Auslander’s piece is a comment from another thread, elevated to a more prominent spot to increase its visibility–nothing more.
Mr Auslander, being a resident and defender of his hometown in Crimea doesn’t deserve or need a cheap putdown.
I am just filling you in, in a spirit of potential friendship, as Mr Auslander doesn’t need any special defence either, being a capable chap.

I do not hate America, reality is deep down I am saddened by her actions of the last 5 decades and more. I also do not put her on a pedestal by any stretch of the imagination but she is what she is, the biggest, at the moment, kid on the block. Is this ‘biggest’ all smoke and mirrors? No, America is one of a hand full of countries who can end life on this planet in an hour. Will she? Who knows, I surely don’t.
As for some other items in your post. The orc nazi problem in Canada is not my problem by any stretch of the imagination. The orc nazi problem in Ukraine is my problem. France, Germany and UK mean nothing to me, they are simply doing what they are ordered to do by Five Points and Foggy Bottom. Combined the three of them are nothing, they can not, and would not dare, attack Russia or Byelorus on their own, between the lot of them they would be hard put to field one real, full compliment armored division, let alone supply it during aggression. One, or even three or ten, divisions against Russia? Ask Napoleon, he attacked Russia with several hundreds of thousands of troops, less than 40% of whom were French, and his army is mass graves between Moskau and what is now Poland. Hitler, he didn’t fare too well against Russia, either, albeit it horrendous cost to both Russia and Germany.
On the other hand, if europe, mainly west europe, wanted to put US troops out they could do so easily. US troops are scattered hither and yon all over west europe but mainly in Germany. If the German people rose up against this 70 plus year occupation, would the German army join them? Interesting thought for discussion but reality is 50 thousand troops, most of whom are remfs, can not fight a combined assault of a few armored and grenadier regiments, or even companies, in a reasonably determined assault. To assist the US troops, additional units would take a long time to get to europe and getting there is assuming, as US usually does, that their lines of reinforcement and supply will be open and safe with no attempts at interdiction. What do you think would happen to these endless flights of troops and supplies?
Bottom line, The United States of American is fully responsible for the majority of the war and turmoil on our planet extant today. She alone is responsible for the current wars, all of them and she doesn’t care what she does as long as she gets her way. The denigration of Russia and all things Russian is a direct result of Russia not only not doing what she is told but actually having the gall to stop US from various actions she is doing. Like a spoiled and very large child, US is having a temper tantrum. It would be the stuff of derision if it was not so sad….and dangerous.
Auslander
“On the other hand, if europe, mainly west europe, wanted to put US troops out they could do so easily. ”
I believe there have been many attempts–via civil protests—to get the Amis out of Germany.
Protests against missiles being deployed on German soil, etc.
The main problem seems to be that the occupation of Germany is written into the Basic Law.
It becomes a constitutional issue.
I am probably wrong here on teh technical details, but I am quite sure that there are legal obstacles to the Germans actually taking back their country from the Occupying Amis.
Here is a comment by someone named Tony Carris from this URL
https://www.quora.com/Is-Germany-an-occupied-country:
“Since the end of WW2 the Allies liquidated the legitimate government of the Reich, arrested the leaders, took over, divided and occupied Germany. They removed the existing institutions, and then imposed their own, both in the FRG and GDR. They wrote and imposed the “Basic Law” (not a constitution), and in spite of the so-called “reunification” in 1990, that law remains in effect today, as an entirely foreign construct. There is no “Made in Germany” constitution. That means …. Germany is still an occupied and foreign controlled country!
“The UN Charter still designates Italy, Germany and Japan as enemy states to the United Nations. In legal terms this means that any U.N. Member State can launch a “preemptive” military aggression against these nations without a declaration of war. Seldom discussed, this enemy State status is today, arguably, one of the greatest obstacles for a lasting peace in Asia and in Europe. The situation of German governments is further complicated by the fact that Germany still has no peace treaty and that Washington and London do all that is in their power to maintain that status quo.
“No post WW II government in Germany has dared to touch upon this “hot potato”German governments have, generally speaking, used two strategies. – To push for a permanent seat at the UN Security Council to force the hands of the G-4, and to assert German power within the European Union; at considerable expense for the German economy in form of bail outs etc.Considering the situation in Ukraine and tensions between Russia and NATO / EU one cannot underestimate the fact that neither an Italian or German government could maintain a sovereign foreign policy. About 50% of Germans do not perceive Germany as solidly or permanently anchored within NATO and about 50% would like to see Germany maintain a neutral position as bridge between the east and the west, at equal distance and with equally good relations to respectively Moscow and Washington. No German government would be able to reflect this public opinion in its policy. So yes,Germany is indeed an occupied Country because the Second World War has not legal ended ,because there is no formal peace treaty between Germany and the Allies, headed by the United States, German sovereignty is compromised. “Until there are a peace treaty, Germany is merely a protectorat of the United States,” however the most of German people are unaware of this carefully hided situation…”

“The Allies” existed for a short while only. As soon as Western politicians feared peace might break out, they looked for some other conflict. Recently I had seen some documentary saying that Stalin didn’t intend to split Germany (I guess it was this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ppnj0rZKfqQ). The Western Allies did this.
The stuff of “no existing German constitution”, “no peace treaty”, etc. is pure nonsense. The Two Plus Four Agreement is a peace treaty. It’s not called a peace treaty for a simple reason: Compensation payments. When Greece had to be “bailed out”, there was some talk about the outstanding compensation of Greece for the forced loans to Nazi Germany and for the damage done by Germany.
Another example is IG Farben. It was separated from the companies that previously formed it. The empty shell (IG Farben) was given some money for meager compensation of some victims of forced labor. Bayer, Hoechst, BASF and all the other chemical giants could rake in huge profits and not be responsible for their past wrongdoings.
Even if something looks like shit, smells like shit it isn’t shit if a lawyer decides to give it a different name.
NATO membership of Germany is an excellent reason for US troops to stay in Germany indefinitely.
‘Until First Bomb Drops’: Tillerson Vows to Bring DPRK to Negotiating Table
https://sputniknews.com/asia/201802191061792730-usa-dprk-tillerson-negotiations-pressure/
“I’m gonna use all the time available to me our diplomatic efforts will continue until that first bomb drops. My job is to never have a reason for the first bomb to drop. And we don’t know precisely how much time is left on the clock,” Tillerson said in an interview with the broadcaster, while answering the question on Corker’s statement.
Earlier, US Senator Bob Corker said that Tillerson has up to 10 months to resolve the nuclear crisis or otherwise the United States “is going to be facing one of the greatest military decisions,” according to the CBS broadcaster.
“We receive messages from them and I think it will be very explicit as to how we want to have that first conversation,” Tillerson told the broadcaster.”
“10 months”, what these zionazi war criminals and traitors are saying is that unless DPRK surrenders unconditionally, ww3 will begin around Christmas time, 2018.
Incidentally, that time schedule is designed to begin ww3 before the new elected people from the 2018 elections take office. It implies that israel’s far right fruitcake line up in the pindo, make that aipac, congress will take a beating and that these extremist traitors won’t have the congressional rubber stamp they have now.
The Obnoxious Pence Shows Why Korea Must End US Occupation
https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/02/16/the-obnoxious-pence-shows-why-korea-must-end-us-occupation/
“Mike Pence’s boorish and disgraceful behavior at the Pyeongchang Olympics illustrates why the United States can play no constructive role in the easing of tensions on the Korean Peninsula. In just 48 hours, the overbearing Vice President managed to insult or embarrass everyone he encountered including South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his honored guest from the north, Kim Yo-jong. Pence flaunted his contempt for the Korean people by humiliating their leaders, shrugging off their hospitality, and scoffing at their joint efforts for peace. He acted like an arrogant proconsul who only deigns to visit his subjects in order to treat them with condescension and scorn. His behavior proved to the world that he is a blustery, egotistical bonehead who doesn’t have the slightest regard for the feelings of others.”
The zionazi war criminal and traitor pence is the manager of the zionazi quisling trump regime, trump is merely the head of sales. In fact, the zionazis used trump to get their unelectable pence into place. His behaviour in rok is the new overtly fascist america under full and total zionazi control. Like hitler serves as the face of ww2, pence’s is the face of ww3.
Where can I find a copy of “The Crucification of Russia”
In other words a complete English translation of Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s “200 Years Together”…?
Its not available, currently, in English translation, I believe. After being feted for ‘Gulag Archipelago’ by the great and good, they dropped him like a hot cake and no-one dares or cares to take a chance on publishing his later works.
I cannot imagine why there is not one Russian printer (and translator) to do that. Maybe they did it but it’s not on internet ?
Possibly, but I think there other obstacles. I have bought stuff over the net from Russia (e.g. original tea glasses for some holders that I found in St Petersburg) but that stopped being possible from the UK a couple of years ago.
Nothing in the old-style bookshops or libraries that I can find either.
Bits do leak out though and for the determined the gist can be pieced together.
Is the German version available online? Or has it been published somewhere?

Excellent.
You make the point that Nature takes revenge on unprovoked aggression. I’d add that Nature also avenges sanctions and blockades. USA should have learned this from Cuba and Persia. Our blockades forced both countries to become self-sufficient, to develop skills and industries that weren’t needed before.
We didn’t learn. Now we’re doing the same thing to Russia, and Russia is growing stronger in the same way.
I have just read an article in Unz by Israel Shamir about Grudinin that actually made me feel a little ill. Not simply for the factual elisions and misrepresentations (there are several) , but mainly in fact for the slick way an alternative narrative is presented in which Grudinin, just another average grubbyish greedyish political person, is compared favorably to Putin, who alone amongst the sea of cynical self-enrichers has at least tried to stand for something decent and honest. The blindness Shamir and his ilk seem to have to Putin’s uniqueness depressed me.
Shamir was arguing Putin’s time is up and he should step aside. It gave me a horribly convincing glimpse of the post-Puin world, in which his small island of probity is washed away and the world belongs entirely to the drab mass of averagely corrupt, averagely greedy nonentities.
Will his work have been in vain? I so very much hope not, for his sake and ours.
Apologies if this seems negative, but I’m writing in a moment of downcast reflection.
M
I read that Shamir piece a couple of days back. It left me wondering if Shamir hadn’t divorced from his israeli roots after all. His presentation of grudinin was nothing but a repetition of zionazi propaganda that bears no relation to reality.
Great analysis by Auslander. My only comment to Auslander – please research the figure of Beria to better understand his positive role in stopping the repressions (initiated and carried out when Ezhov was heading NKVD), and never put him in the same list as Goebbels. Unfortunately, the relentless rewriting of history has done a lot of injustice to some historic figures.
Coastal Washington State (where I live in Olympia) would also be very vulnerable. Major Army and Air Force base just 10 miles north of me on the I-5 (Lewis-McChord) and Bangor nuke sub base about 20 miles NW. Not to mention Seattle and Amazon and Microsoft 60 miles north! I’m sittin’ pretty, ain’t I?

Thanks for such a great summary of the events of the past hundred years. Very well put. I will disagree on one point. You said that the President of the US has no real power. Then please explain why there is such a concerted effort by whole swaths of the most powerful people on the planet to remove him from office. Why was the entire left side of the political spectrum and their puppet media thrown into utter panic on hearing the results of the 2016 presidential election? The president has immense power, although not officially, according to our constitution and our founders’ intent, and many presidents have overstepped those bounds, our citizens have given him permissions, by way of the court of public opinion, to do a whole lot more than the legal limits allow. Believe me, there wouldn’t be near the outcry if he had no real power.
Wonderful thrilling essay! How true Goebbles and Beria would admire and approve of the Facist state America has enthusiastically become. My faith does not rest there but it the Facist’s nemesis.
If the ‘new’ facist state succeeds the life of man on earth will not be long.

The news written to Auslander is correct 100%, This time is a continuation to the war that started in 1914. The continuation of it is by the millions of US/UK/EU Deep Staters to make sure the end result is what has been wanted since well before the 1914 war started. Since the dissolution of the Russian /empire was voted on by the British Parliament in 1814 I would guess that the 1914 war was germinated in 1814 Britain. Pure human hate only grows more of itself. The US/UK copying German, Nazi, inspiring propaganda are spectacuarily efficient at propagating global hysteria. See all Venezuela today.
