Just imagine what these people will do if they ever come to power…
From Bosnia, to Kosovo, to Chechnia, to Libya, these folks have always had the same modus operandi: committing the worst type of atrocities while screaming Allahu Akbar! I cannot imagine a worse blasphemy.
Yet, these are the people which the US/EU – and some doubleplusgoodtinking imbeciles in the blogosphere – are trying to put in power in Syria. Sure, these monsters are funded by the KSA and Qatar, but their real masters are in London, Paris, Washington and, of course, Jerusalem. A satanic alliance indeed.
The Saker
To be fair to the doubleplusgood humanitarian intervention brigade there’s no doubt that the Assad regime has also committed plenty of atrocities and the Syrian rebels don’t just comprise the Wahabist lunatics; there will also be patriotic Syrians fighting for the rebels who genuinely want democracy and loath the Wahabists as much as anyone.
But yes even Assad is preferable to the Wahabist horror and no doubt many if not most of the religious minorities reluctantly support Assad because they are terrified of what might happen if the FSA took over.
God help Syria. There is no good outcome to this war as far as I can see.
@Robert: there’s no doubt that the Assad regime has also committed plenty of atrocities
True, but I would argue (with Hegel) that quantitative differences eventually result in a qualitative difference. Assad and his followers are not my cup of tea, but he is not a Allahu Akbar screaming psycho.
there will also be patriotic Syrians fighting for the rebels who genuinely want democracy and loath the Wahabists as much as anyone.
I very much doubt that. If that was the case, these putative “patriots” would not be so deeply allied with the Wahabi nutcases and the US/EU/NATO/Israel “axis of kindness”. I remind you that I also supported the anti-Assad movement until it clearly showed its true (Wahabi) face. To be in any way shape or form allied with, or supportive of, these crazed psychopaths is, I submit, fundamentally and totally immoral.
There is no good outcome to this war as far as I can see.
The only solution is for Russia, China, Iran and Hezbollah to somehow make it possible for the Assad regime to develop the means to beat back the insurgency. I am not at all sure that this is possible, alas…
Saker.
Robert: God might not helo Siria to outcome the wahabist but H Clinton will :
Quote:
We are working very hard with many different elements of opposition inside and outside Syria,” Clinton told reporters during a visit to Croatia, saying the United States was interested in “helping the opposition to unite strongly and resist the Assad regime”.
The opposition umbrella group the Syrian National Council (SNC) “can no be longer be viewed as the visible leader of the opposition,” Clinton said.
Hey Saker and among all the boring news, what do you think of this one:
This is a lot of gold
