Songs of Love and Parting
I’ll Go No More A Roving O’
I’ll go no more a roving o’
A wandering over hills and lea.
I’ll rove no more with you, fair maid,
Nor revel in your company.
I’ll go no more a roving o’
From north to south and east to west,
I’ll weave no wreathes, no maiden’s crowns,
Nor lay my head against thy breast.
I’ll go no more a roving o’
Through endless lands and sylvan wood
I’ll free the owl and silver deer
And bury all your gifts for good.
I’ll go no more a roving o’,
A wayfaring with you, my dear;
No more I’ll cage my breathing heart,
Whatever day or time of year!
I’ll go no more a roving o’,
With you no more I’ll range.
Ill clench my teeth, I’ll bite my lip,
For you’re the same but I have changed.
I was never a fan of poetry until you D made me aware of the beauty. Thanks for that, you’ve opened my mind to a beautiful art i’ve Been missing out on. Thanks Rachel
Your heartfelt reaction to the poetry is why we poets and artists do what we do, Rachel. Thank you so very much for your kindness. One of the reasons I write ( I started late, only three years ago, and already in my fifties, ) is that I was inspired here at the MFC by a wonderful artist and poet, named ioan. He’s no longer with us, but he is present in every poem I write.
@Dimitar, ioan sure left a lasting impression, I can’t visit here or write without his muse looking on. I personally feel blessed I had the privilege to interact with him here. Far to short a mentoring….one takes ones grace where it’s found. Was walking the dog just this morning and wondered what ever happened to his auld dog. He sure had a way of throwing light rays. People do still throw light? It shines in your words. All the poets in the house.
Cheers, De Lepre
Didn’t realise that Dimitar.. Good for you and us if Ioan helped you find that gift.
Btw, I loved his calendars.
Dear ‘Srbinka’, help comes from everywhere does it not, dear one? But the best help always comes through the best of friends. Yes, Ioan’s calendars were all stunning, and the last was exceptional in it’s expressive force and majestic sweep. Best, D:)
Dimitar,
Would it be possible to reintroduce us to ioan’s poem’s, so that those of us who did not have the opportunity to appreciate his poems could cherish them ?
Sudhi, after Ioan’s passing earlier this year, I went through about three years of the MFC Archive ( scroll down to the bottom of thesaker.is home page, but instead of clicking on the current MFC, skip to the arrow at the far right of the bar containing the words ‘Moveable Feast Cafe’ ), this will give you access to the MFC archive going back many years. I went back to a period of about three years ago, literally around July 2018. I scanned through many, many Cafes in order to do a complete sweep where Ioan and my own and also exchanges with other folk, some poets, some not, were concerned. It took me many weeks but I was able to secure many of Ioan’s as well as my own, and others’ poems, comments and exchanges of interest. It all looked different in retrospect, and yielded many treasures.
I’ll share with all of you a story that pertains to ‘how I became a poet’ and ioan’s role in that. It was July 2018, I had been writing, or attempting to write poetry for a number of months, but felt I hadn’t found the key and was not satisfied with the results. On this day, I’d come up with what can only be considered an epic (😂), to be fair, it was an ambitious poem titled “The Madman”, a freeform extravaganza of 18 stanzas. As the saying goes, one either knows or doesn’t, and I was wondering ‘what was wrong’ with my effort, when Ioan posted a reply of about 6 lines of verse, and the lines were so succinct, my immediate reaction was, “He’s bested me!”.
Interestingly, only ‘days before’, Ioan himself, in his self-deprecating manner, had insisted that his poetry was ‘not up to standard’ b/c ‘English wasn’t his first language’. But in those half a dozen lines, he had surpassed my ‘epic’, lol. I felt determined to reply and to “go one better”, but nothing I was able to come up with in the short term was appropriate or good enough. I spent many, many hours – starting late afternoon, and finishing about 1 to 2 pm, and somewhere in that process, had turned a corner, and had been gifted with what I felt was the first poem I could authentically claim, as my own, ie; that reflected my intention insofar as what in my heart of hearts I would like to achieve with the poetry process. The irony was that, here was my friend, proclaiming himself not to be an English language poet of any substance, yet had managed to find the exact lines that became ‘a bee in my bonnet’ and pushed me to lengths I hadn’t yet delved into. So here’s that poem, once again…
The Song Of The Wind
O’er the moor, across the heath,
This heart it moans and wails.
My snaking path with chaos wrought,
A shipwrecked dawn, an ocean pale.
Whence I’ve come, where I go,
To know my heart is danger rare!
The wild main, forsaken once,
Has taken him and left you there.
The booming weald may sing my praise,
Rejoice in my caress,
But that which madmen dared to dream,
I’ve come to repossess.
Come hither all you children fair,
With eyes that look but do not see;
My steeds await and I must go,
Hear my whisper, heed my plea.
It is the story, in spare strokes, of a young man who had reached for a dream but had not made the right preparation and had paid with his life… “The wild main ( archaic; ocean ), had taken him and left you there ( ‘you’ being his young widow ).
And here’s the head of that young widow.

Roses of My Dream ( by Ioan )
There’s a vase without flowers,
Without water, dried and sick.
Sitting in a shadowed corner,
Counting passing days of week.
Years have gone when light was in
When the vase stood on the table,
Housing flowers, roses queen,
With a smile which now is fable.
Spiders webs are now your friends
And the softly settled dust
Waiting for the night to end
Then return to what you lost.
Will you find it, will you not?
Best of days you ever seen,
When you shined and smiled a lot
With the roses of your dream.
Dimitar, thank you for the lead. I intend to go through all the earlier comments by ioan, though it will take some time.
From a light, on path of pain
Follows pain on path of light
Dropping tears as summer rain
Every day and every night
Until time shall pass and sway
Until darkness passed away
Opening the gates of life…
New beginning and new strife
– ioan, July 2018

An erudite, cultured and religious person as shown by his comments.
Thanks Sudhi, I’m sure he would be okay with you re-posting anything that may catch your eye. Best, D.
Btw, Sudhi, I’ll mention it in case you’re not aware of it, but that’s Ioan’s art near top of page just below the introduction to this MFC, just click on ‘The Vineyard of the Saker, 2020’ to download the pdf. ( the one with the violet backdrop )…
I always like to see a new cafe open with a poem.
Even better when it’s one from you, Dimitar

Dimitar
Your poems are greatly appreciated and touches many people here as you can see.
Israel Shamir recently wrote these words regarding the current spiritual climate in the West;
‘The dollar is high, but the creativity of Christendom has reached its nadir; its shops are full, but its Churches are empty. There are many wheelers, dealers and brokers, but few artists, poets or saints.’
Thank God there are some poets left.
Lovely to see, you can feel the sway and movement of the branches and foliage.
Thank you, amarynth, and Kent.
… and the warm tongues of summer wind blowing through the shade…
Thanks to all for yr responses… Btw. the fair maid in “I’ll Go No More A-Roving O'” does have a name… she is known as Maya. The poem can of course, be read literally, ie; as the latest development in a long relationship between two friends who know each other intimately.
What is happening regarding the picture taken in Tehran by the British and Russian ambassadors reminiscing the 1943 allied forces leaders?
Clearly this as offended the Iranians sensitive. Anybody with opinions on this?
Iranian university students are calling for both the Brit and the Rus ambassadors to be expelled from Iran, unless they apologize.
So far, no apologies, only justifications coming from the two embassies.
They claim they were fighting the good fight in WWII, so it’s ok that millions of Iranians died under their occupation.
The Iranian perspective regarding WWII is vastly different than the mainstream view pervasive in the rest of the world. Iranians do not see how the British and the Soviets could have possibly been the good guys in that scenario.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany%E2%80%93Iran_relations
“The shelling of Iran’s parliament by the Russians and the signing of the 1919 treaty firmly planted the roots of suspicion against Britain and Russia. Many people were aware of Wilhelm II’s speech in Damascus in 1898 calling on all Muslims to rely on him as a true friend By the early 1930s, Reza Shah or the elder Reza Pahlavi’s economic ties with Nazi Germany began worrying the Allied states. Germany’s modern state and economy highly impressed the Shah, and there were hundreds of Germans involved in every aspect of the state from setting up factories to building roads, railroads and bridges.
In 1936, the Hitler cabinet declared Iranians to be immune to the Nuremberg Laws, as they were considered to be “pure Aryans.”
From 1939 to 1941, Iran’s top foreign trade partner (nearly 50% of its total trade) was Germany, which helped Iran in opening modern sea and air communications with the rest of the world.
However, the Iranians also began to reduce their trade with the Germans under Allied demands. Reza Shah sought to remain neutral and to anger neither side, which was becoming increasingly difficult with the British and Soviet demands on Iran. Many British forces were already present in Iraq as a result of the Anglo-Iraqi War earlier in 1941. Thus, British troops were stationed on the western border of Iran prior to the invasion.
In 1941, the Allies forced Reza Shah to abdicate the throne to his son, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.”
Reza Shah was forced to abdicate because he wanted to stay neutral.
Germany helped Iran develop. The Brits and the Soviets invaded, occupied, and held Iran back. End of story.
Iranians will never forget the kindness of the Germans, and the unkindness of the British and the Russians.
The Germans were never racist towards Iranians. The British and the Soviets were.
Yk
Request.
Could you please give some information where we may find that picture.
I understand we may not be allowed to post internet links on this webpage.
Regards Luka
I don’t really know but it seems to be a storm in a teacup. But then I might be wrong. The Iranians are offended.
Here is more from PressTV.
https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2021/08/12/664281/Iran-Russia-1943-Tehran-Conference
And the photo can be found on the Twitter stream of the Russian Embassy in Iran.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Soviet_invasion_of_Iran
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_famine_of_1942%E2%80%931943
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_crisis_of_1946
This is the background to understanding what that photo means.
Think of it this way. In the West, people think the Germans were evil in the 30s and 40s, right? Very very evil, supposedly did a lot of bad things. Ok?
What would they say if the German ambassador dressed up like Hitler, moustache and all, and photographed himself giving a Nazi salute in the German embassy in France or Poland, on the anniversary of the Nazi invasion? Hmm?
And when asked to apologize, the German ambassador can just respond that “we were trying to save you ingrates from the Jews and the British, ffs.” Huh? Yeah?
It is not a storm, and there is no teacup. The British and the Russian ambassadors have simply shown their true colors.
Well, I would not even attempt to say anything about the Iranian position.
From the Russian perspective, this type of re-enactment, a continual stream of memories from the war, old photos of important meetings, and just a major effort to stop the west from writing Russia right out of the 2ndWW history is within the Russian objectives and was clearly announced.
I see it daily – there is a continual stream of war memorabilia and historical notices on the Twitter stream of the Russian MFA and the other embassies. From my perspective (and I recognize that Iran is livid and they probably have all the rights to be livid!), Russia however, is doing what was announced.
This is also not a ‘say now so and so salutes to so and so’ made-up thing. It is a re-enactment of an iconic meeting and moment in the history of the 2ndWW. Clearly is not to Iran’s tastes but I cannot say any more about that for sure. It is within the objective of Russia to rectify the rewriting of war history.
Over to Iran to say their say about this.
Anyway, scroll through the twitter feed – there is a lot happening there but the daily re-enactments, comments and historical events on the history of the war are clear from what Russia is doing. Showing true colors does not seem to resonate with me, as I know what Russia is doing in terms of this.
https://twitter.com/mfa_russia
A little context is in order: This particular photo (which caused the uproar in Iran) is from 1943 ie. *after Barbarossa* which killed millions of Russians…
In the aftermath of the Nazi war of annihilation, Stalin asked the Shah to dismiss the strategic Nazi advisors who were an integral part of the Iranian government. The Shah refused, claiming “neutrality”..
It seems Iran has not always been a friendly, empathetic neighbour to Russia..
Anyways, this ambiguous, pseudo- neutral stance by the Shah is what set the stage for the allied invasion of Iran, thus fully securing the Southern supply lines for the Soviet Union during the war.
In any case, Russia has now apologised effusively for any offence it caused with this historical photograph.
Anonymous writes:
“The Germans were never racist towards the Iranians. The British and the Soviets were”
So this is not racist?
“In 1939, Nazi Germany sent over 7500 books with racial tones advocating for greater collaboration between Aryan Persians and Germans. In 1936, Iranians were called pure Aryans and were excluded from the Nuremberg Laws.”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany%E2%80%93Iran_relations
How is it racism when white germanic nordic people declare that they are the same race as short dark haired brown people? Iranians were something like 20-30cms shorter back then, because of malnourishment resulting from events such as:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_famine_of_1917%E2%80%931919
You cannot seriously expect Iran to have shown empathy towards Russia in WWII.
Iran was neutral, according to every history that I have ever read. Both in WWI, when the Russians and the British brutally occupied Iran and starved millions, and in WWII, when the Russians and the British brutally occupied Iran and starved millions.
@Serbian girl
I think you need to substantiate your claim with some evidence as this appears like msm “take my word for it”, and you need to check your timeline for *Operation Barbarossa*.
“It seems Iran as not always been a friendly and empatethic neighbour to Russia.”
Really?! So refusal to dismiss “Nazi advisor” as you claimed is now a yardstick for committing aggression against a sovereign neutral country, one that has not invaded your country? Then you should probably have invaded America too because her collaboration with the Nazi is an open secret.
If this is the world Russia is building, I think we must prepare for America 2.0. You have every right to support every Russia action irrespective of what it entails for others but with such excuses, please you can do better than this.
June 1941 start of Barbarossa
August 1941 invasion of Iran
1943 photograph taken of Stalin, Roosevelt Churchill in Tehran
Which part of that timeline is incorrect?
Stalin was under Nazi attack in the West. He needed to secure his supply routes in the South, and he wasn’t taking his chances on the leadership of Iran at the time, the Shah, who was a Nazi sympathiser.
Of course it does not justify Stalin’s actions to invade Iran. Russia has apologised, has repeatedly said that they consider Iran a friendly neighbouring country.
The only thing that Iranians have achieved with kicking up outrage is to remind everyone that Iran and Russia were on opposite sides during last big war.
No, what they have achieved is to remind themselves that Russia and Britain were on the same side in the last two great wars, and united against Iran.
It is of utmost importance for Iran to remember who its friends and enemies are.
S-300s anyone?
“It is of utmost importance for Iran to remember who its friends and enemies are”
I agree, and not just for Iran. Know thy enemy is wise for all.
Bottom line, Iran and Russia have historically not been on friendly terms and even today it is clear that there is a lot of animosity towards Russia in Iran.
Well, I would say the animosity originates from Russia.
What did Iran do when they captured a US drone?
https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/21/iran-russia-us-scaneagle-spy-drone-production-capture
“The drone built by the Islamic republic’s Revolutionary Guards is a symbol of the technical capabilities of the Islamic Iran and today we presented a real model of it as a gift to Russian air force … and the Russian people,” Esmayeeli said after meeting with Bondarev, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.”
Right? Does that sound like animosity?
What did Russia do when Iran wanted S-300s, which are a defensive weapon?
There are many examples along this pattern. Iran has made many genuine attempts at friendship. Russia never reciprocates.
We are not surprised, though. There are too many Jewish billionaires in Russia, and too many Russians in Israel.
I have listed many instances of Russian hostility towards Iran. I have not even gone as far back as the 1800s. Perhaps you can list some instances of Iranian hostile action against Russia?
“It seems Iran has not always been a friendly, empathetic neighbour to Russia..”
Sweetheart, that’s what happens when your neighbor decides to strike your Parliament with artillery.
You clearly do not know Russian-Iranian history. Do you know how many times the Russians invaded Iran and occupied Iranian territory in the 1800s?
And in the 1900s, in addition to all the above, there is also the Soviet attempt at annexing Gilan.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Socialist_Soviet_Republic
“It has been suggested also that the change of policy on the Soviet side regarding pursuing global revolution (as advocated by Trotsky) versus establishing and protecting the Soviet Union was the main reason for them to withdraw support from the Gilan Republic. The second option got more support and therefore Soviets signed the Anglo-Soviet Trade Agreement with the British in London (1921) which required them to retreat from Northern Iran. Correspondence between Theodore Rothstein, the Soviet ambassador in Tehran, and Mirza kuchak Khan clearly supports this view.”
The only reason they gave up on Gilan, was that their partner, Britain, made them stop.
So, you are saying that after all the Russian open hostility over the centuries, Iran should have taken the Soviet Union and Britain’s side, instead of staying neutral (ie. not taking part in warfare, and not hosting any troops), even though the Germans were always fair and friendly to them, while the Russians and the British were always hostile, they should have taken the Soviet-British side?
The Soviet Union and Britain which were both Jewish dominated at the time? Fighting against an enemy which despised Jews, and yet displayed no sign of ‘racism’ towards the short statured malnourished backwards Iranian brown man?
You’ll notice, the Soviet embassy to Iran during the Gilan debacle was a Jew.
Are you kidding me? The Soviets and the British were a horror show. They only went places to plunder and destroy, they took pleasure in subjugating and degrading native people wherever they went. The Germans never did anything like that to Iran. Their attitude was not racist supremacist subjugation at all, but a friendly nation genuinely trying to help Iranians advance.
The truth of the matter is, the British and the Russians actively worked to set Iran back, with acts like the shelling of the Majlis, which was essentially the same act as the US coup d’etat which removed the Iranian prime minister from power in 1953.
Iran was under hostile occupation, a brutal episode that killed millions. That picture is a glorification of that occupation.
Let’s say the British and the Soviets really did do good by defeating Germany. Does that justify occupying Iran?
How can you possibly think the British were the good guys in WWII?
Anonymous,
I believe one should at all times vouch for one’s family, village, race and country, if this deems me to be racist then so be it.
Appreciate your replies.
All Indo-Europeans are the same people, descended from a common ancestral population that spoke *proto-indo-european, probably some time around 6000-4000 BC. Hitler knew it, the Iranians still know it. But someone doesn’t want the rest of the family to know.
The Anglos and their partners cannot see past skin color, and as far as Iranians are concerned, they have always treated us like dirt. (The Russians especially have always seen us as racially inferior.)
The Germans, on the other hand, were allied with the Italians and the Japanese, and declared Iranians to be the same race as Germans. To me that says the Germans didn’t have a racist bone in their body.
But I see the racism that is attributed to the Germans, in Britain, in the US, in France, in every country that has a significant Jewish influence. The narrative in those countries is that “we are not all the same” and “we are superior to you.” The French think they are superior to everyone. The British, the same. The Americans, same again. All of this originates from Jewish “chosen people” delusions.
Anyway, did you know that the kingdom of Mitanni, in southern Anatolia, worshipped Vedic gods circa 1600 BC? And that the Hurrians are the earliest known Indo-European kingdom that is historically attested, circa 2500 BC? And did you know that these Indo-Europeans lived in West Asia, together with Semites, Sumerians, Elamites, etc. (all different races) without ever having a racial squabble for thousands of years? Even up to Roman times, we see that Rome had African Emperors.
But now, different branches of the same race and family can’t even get along. Why? Where did the idea of ‘racism’ originate historically, if not from the Jews?
The English seem to have some deep racism going back to who knows when, just how far back is one of the things I haven’t figured out.
I don’t think the early Germanic ancestors of the Anglos, East of the Rhine, were under any delusions of racial superiority, when the Romans were endlessly dominating them over the centuries.
In any case, I don’t think there is anything about the sacred texts of the ancient Germanic peoples, which would imply a racist attitude of superiority towards other people. And if Tacitus and others noted any such beliefs among the Germans, I have missed it.
And the fact that Rome had African emperors, and even one emperor of Iranian extraction (Maximinus Thrax), means at the very least that they did not really take stock of ‘race’ the way we do today.
The only people I know, who blatantly profess a racist ideology of superiority, and have done so consistently for thousands of years, are Yahweh’s chosen sons and daughters, the Jewish people.
Perhaps one could excuse the tall and massive Germans from falsely believing that they were genetically superior to the short-statured Romans, at least in as far as hand to hand combat was concerned, even though the Romans made up for their lack of physical stature in other ways, but how would one excuse the Jew, who touts a book that is patently and categorically not the word of the creator of the universe, which maintains that the Jewish people are the favorite and chosen people of God.
Where does one get the nerve to tell oneself: “I am God’s favorite. I am special. I am better than everyone else.”?
Egotism? Arrogance? Insanity?
Not being a student of history, I do not know much about our past, which is why it is always a pleasure to read your comments as they add to my knowledge, thank you.
In The Mahabharata it has been mentioned that peoples from as far West as Greece and as far East as China participated in the great internecine war.
I agree it is a storm in a teacup.
Maybe not best of optics and timing from Russians, but they have apologized.
Has not Saker said PR is not their strength at all?
It smells like teen “Divide et Impera” spirit.
The key two words for me were “BBC” and “Reuters.”
After China and Russia attempts, this is another two nodes of eurasia to entangle in conflict.
Also there are formidable 5th columns in Iran & Russia who have their agendas.
Thierry Meyssan has talked extensively about the out-going Reformists in Iran and how they sabotaged Iran repeated over the last 8 years.
Could this be another “Obama parting gift to Trump” within Iran??
It also helps to change the topic from the ongoing Saigon moment in Afghanistan!
Good to see real culprits of peace and stability in the region being uncovered by the combined efforts of Pakistan and China.
They aim to disrupt the Eastward momentum of the Belt and Road initiative. It’s driving them crazy.
They will continue their plotting to ensure stability doesn’t settle in Afghanistan either. They were hoping and still are for a civil war. They are the ones crying the loudest with slogans of terror and brutality. Yet their supremacism, plotting, murder, invasions and false flags are all justified for the greater good.
They will actually destroy themselves with their insanity unless a critical mass within their own populations hold them to account in the name of true patriotism.
https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202108/1231386.shtml
I guess when you support terrorist groups, or allow others to run terrorist groups in your country, you shouldn’t complain when a third person uses terrorist groups against you.
How many of these terrorist groups operate against Iran out of Pakistani soil? They are all either backed by Pakistan itself, or Pakistan simply turns a blind eye to the Saudis and their terrorist activities.
Either way, very hard to feel sympathy for Pakistan. All I hear is complaining because Pakistani selfish interest is being threatened.
Perhaps the Pakistanis should have never allowed the British to divide them up from the Indians, eh? Would have been a much bigger, much more powerful country, where Muslims, Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and all the other 1001 religions of the subcontinent lived side by side in peace.
The Pakistanis wanted their own country. Well, they have it. Will someone tell the Kurds, please? And every other people who seek division instead of unity.
You missed a considerable part of the context. The Muslims of India esp its spiritual and political leaders wanted a union of Muslims and Hindus to drive out the British. The union of Ghandi with this movement was against the interests of Britain as well as Hindu nationalists. Some Muslims supported the idea of a two state solution. However, after the assasination of Ghandi by Hindu extremists and the subsequent marginalisation of Hindu Muslim togetherness, the dea of a two state solution gained momentum and was spearheaded by an Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Opposition to the partition of India was widespread in British India in the 20th century and it continues to remain a talking point in South Asian politics. Those who opposed it often adhered to the doctrine of composite nationalism. The Hindu, Christian, Anglo-Indian, Parsi and Sikh communities were largely opposed to the partition of India (and its underlying two-nation theory), as were many Muslims (these were represented by the All India Azad Muslim Conference)
Pashtun politician and Indian independence activist Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan of the Khudai Khidmatgar viewed the proposal to partition India as un-Islamic and contradicting a common history in which Muslims considered India as their homeland for over a millennium. Mahatma Gandhi opined that “Hindus and Muslims were sons of the same soil of India; they were brothers who therefore must strive to keep India free and united.”
Sunni Muslims of the Deobandi school of thought “criticized the idea of Pakistan as being the conspiracy of the colonial government to prevent the emergence of a strong united India” and helped to organize the Azad Muslim Conference to condemn the partition of India. They also argued that the economic development of Muslims would be hurt if India was partitioned, seeing the idea of partition as one that was designed to keep Muslims backward. They also expected “Muslim-majority provinces in united India to be more effective than the rulers of independent Pakistan in helping the Muslim minorities living in Hindu-majority areas.”Deobandis pointed to the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, which was made between the Muslims and Qureysh of Mecca, that “promoted mutual interaction between the two communities thus allowing more opportunities for Muslims to showcase their religion to Qureysh through peaceful tabligh.”Deobandi Sunni scholar Sayyid Husain Ahmad Madani argued for a united India in his book Muttahida Qaumiyat Aur Islam (Composite Nationalism and Islam), promulgating the idea that different religions do not constitute different nationalities and that the proposition for a partition of India was not justifiable, religiously.
Abdullah, thanks for this. Can you clarify one thing for me please. I know some of this history but this is what I would like clarification on:
“However, after the assasination of Ghandi by Hindu extremists“.
Has it been clearly established that this was by Hindu extremists? (I am not fighting this at all please .. people are sensitive these days – I’m just trying to clarify my own understanding and I know this is a highly inflammatory topic).
Amarynth
I don’t know the alternatives.
Godse had claimed in the courts that he had left the RSS after the assassination of Ghandi and the RSS likewise claimed their disassociation with the accused. 30 years after his release he claimed they (him along with his brothers) never really did leave the organisation and it was like a family to them but it was expedient to claim at the time because the RSS were in trouble and under spotlight. The RSS were banned shortly thereafter and was accused of division, subversion and terrorism. It is noteworthy that the organisation under Hedgewar, inspired by Savarkar’s idea of Hindutva, founded the RSS in September 1925. It was subservient to the colonising power and opposed the mass movements for India’s freedom struggle.
I don’t particularly like to delve too much into subversive groups though it is to be understood and to learn from. This is critical and important. However, the majority of people remain unaware and generally do not incline to such views. I prefer the pragmatic approach espoused by speakers such as Sheikh Imran Hosein. Muslims in Pakistan would do well to acknowledge their errors and reach out to likeminded groups in India. An acknowledgement from the Pakistan side that it never desired partition but only went in that direction as a last resort can give impetus to understanding. It is what is is now.
Alas, I wish I could be optimistic for a diffusing of tensions between the two hostile states. We can only try and patiently keep our wits. However, the current trajectory under the BJP mindset is worrying and not something that is going away anytime soon. The control of the narrative inside India is heavily politicised and going rather mad in my opinion. Pakistan is literally pariah par excellence. An abomination that needs to be put in its place and dealt with. Pakistan can be disruptive in its way but it is more vulnerable and thus its position is more defensive. It actually needs regional development and cooperation to grow and thrive. It has staked a great deal and is certainly not in good financial health. China is the broader danger, particularly, with its inroads into North, South East Asia. The Indian gambit is losing on many fronts and as a result of its grand ambitions is easily falling into the Quad alliance and Western perfidy. The scrutiny of foreign policy mistakes such as supporting the US invasion and heavily investing in the Afghan proxy government and army and doing away with Article 370 shunning its own legal endorsements of the Simla accords signed in 1972 with Pakistan to conceive of ways to restore normalisation.
in light of the above and the great game being played, particularly, with the BRI, the subversion of the historical RSS in undermining the anti colonial movement seems to be repeating itself in a more dangerous global scenario.
either intoxicated by principles or through sanctimony
such signs of martyrdom exist in all eras
– a couplet translated from urdu
These principles and sanctimonies, prevalent and on display elsewhere, are distinguishable through a lack of modesty and harm created through intoxication. Human divinity is marked by natural humility.
Abdullah, thank you. Yes, multiple subversive groups. You know, stupidly I did not even think about that and for a moment fell for the visible polarization.
There was this little hole in the hull somewhere of the International Space Station. And of course, how did the hole get there, is the question. Slowly the Russians are sneaking up on the answer to this question.
This machine translation is not too bad.

This made the rounds couple years ago. If i recall correctly, wca female or indefined astronaut drived a hole on the toilet compartment for some strange reason.
The loo in the ISS failed, or got plugged. That happens, especially…hmm, with flushables. Everyone except the Russians had to wear diapers, the Russians had their own loo in their portion of the ISS. Word was the diapered side was a wee bit cranky, no loo, no poo.
The hole was drilled in desperation by someone wanting to go home early. The hole didn’t affect the Russians, their living quarters are in a self contained module which also contains the ‘escape vehicle.’
The Russian cosmonauts must have lost a lot of sleep laughing their asses off at the US side complaining about ‘monkey butt’.
The Russians rode out the deployment and they all returned on a scheduled trip.
There was a translated article where the cosmonauts described how they were never in danger, they controlled the escape pod and could leave if they felt it necessary. I’m sure they’d take the US astronauts with them….on second thought, only if they wash their hands.

Latest from sis posted. Some neat stuff and a little bit downright scary. As for human test subjects…for any art film buffs inhouse, she says to watch George Lucas’ first college film, before Star Wars, it’s called THX1138, staring a very young Robert Duval, she says that’s where we are going.

Yeah…..was an interesting film. Well done.

tuppence quote.
“Even after the many, many months of informative comments on the now forbidden topic, all the links and articles, and can reread, one feels the need to read more at the MFC, that it was a link to what is happening now around the world, and as in many of the comments and links containing related info on the sociological, philosophical, economic and political and God knows what areas, they are inseparable from the banned topic, it is an intellectual abstraction to imagine this is possible, and truly, no offence meant whatsoever.”
Please allow my slow brain to work something out ( or try).

Thank you Kent, pleased to see your comments here, and links to your fine work. I meant that comment you quoted and other’s I wrote in the last café, and with all my heart. People need to talk and share, that’s the whole point of any Café and always was.

Kent or anyone interested, here’s an explanation concerning the words you quoted.
It is like seeing a part of the elephant, and saying it is an oak tree because of its tough, weathered skin, and someone else reports it has an eye, and through many descriptions and experiences shared, the reality of “elephant” emerges. One cannot understand the brain, without the function of the heart and vascular system, nothing, if separated, then it is for a specific reason, how your hands hold and play the violin, carry a stretcher, tap the keyboard, these are made through understanding “hands”, (not entirely, but the point is clear).
The reality of life is only approached via the whole, the viewpoints of different people on one subject, and this is what people are after, desperately need rather, in times of the unchartered territory where we stand, though things sure can get tediously bogged down in one aspect, but will ultimately fizzle out of their own accord.
To separate is to overcome limitations to human growth, i.e. we make musical instruments, spoons, chop sticks, all non hindering things in life that arise from beneficial employment of divide and conquer strategy.
The tale of “Blind men and an elephant” by American poet John Godfrey Saxe who created his own version as a poem, with a final verse that explains that the elephant is a metaphor for God, and the various blind men represent religions that disagree on something no one has fully experienced –
“So, oft in theologic wars, the disputants, I ween,
tread on in utter ignorance, of what each other mean,
and prate about the elephant, not one of them has seen !”
It is a parable that has crossed between many religious traditions and is part of Jain, Hindu Buddhist texts of 1st millennium CE or before.
The moral of the parable is that humans have a tendency to claim absolute truth based on their limited, subjective experience as they ignore other people’s limited, subjective experiences which may be equally true.
“etaddhasti darshana iva jatyandhah”
Translation: That is like people blind by birth when viewing an elephant.
— Adi Shankara
“Reality is one, though wise men speak of it variously.”
– Rig Veda
I learned something new, the elephant is a metaphor for God !! Is the ant secretly jealous of it’s size ? The reality of life is spiritual. The difficulty is this is considered other worldly thinking, But materialism is anti-reality and leads to violence…it’s an ego thing.
Anyhow, I hope my point above was clear enough, it came to me partly while writing, and could perhaps have been better worded. Basically, the overcoming of the limitations of space and time to focus on a particular aspect of human need, to separate or divide in order to do so, to conquer, meaning to think logically and creatively in the process, and come up with the object, or form, i.e. a flute, a handrail for a disabled person, and hey presto, togetherness, happiness and smiles rule! Eco divide and conquer, all without power politics.
GOD the Father, never left Soul in the lurch, but furnished Its offspring with creative imagination and free will to boot. Soul got caught up in a world of illusion ( Maya ), becoming enamoured of that which was on offer, deciding to stay for an eon or three. Finally tiring of all that the world has to offer, Soul snaps out of Its torpor and finds that the worlds respond to Its creative, imaginative efforts. It begins to put Its abilities to proper use. Soul cannot change the world but by making the necessary sacrifices within Itself It aligns Its personal will with that of the Divine, the Divine Will reaching through Soul and making the changes It deems necessary in all of ITs worlds. Soul’s first task is to ‘Know Thyself’, before It can begin Its journey toward knowing God. This is what the whole human drama is all about, Soul having the lessons necessary in order to bring It spiritual unfoldment.
Soul needs God but God
needs Soul too and is constantly
calling It home
Knowing yourself ain’t pretty, the west don’t buy it, nor the westernized east. One small step for mankind at a time, that’s al it takes, ugh, am I really like that, yes, so don’t turn away, it’s healing, because it effects others like a ripple and leads to Godliness, away from me, my and myself, what a relief for all!
What do you do on your own but stumble and fall ?
Better not do that and be a fundamentalist new age martyr. yea I know, we’re all trying not to be that..
People stumble over God, imagine, masses of people can’t get passed that block. Well, you can just walk round it and carry on, no one will notice.
P.S Please say hi to God for me, and tell him I’ll e there soon as I can.
God’s here and now, friend. And He heard you, lol. No need to rush anywhere.
erm, well yes, but if you listen attentively to the nuance behind the words, something else is there…life is not simple but complex beyond belief, words only go so far.
Tuppence… behind the complexity ( the myriad forms ) is the simplicity of Soul as the experiencer. A cat is a cat today, but something else tomorrow, however It will always be Soul.
There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.
There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don’t you ?

Dear Kent,
There is a nuance here that I am not sure I understand.
Wounded Angels – you, and me both — and all the ‘little people’, yes? of course. That is why we are here.
It is getting late in my world and chores must be done.
I am glad you are here. Someone else came back to me today – a musician. We talked a little and things are so very fine.
Beautiful music! thanks!
And. why ? do we even have to go there? Seach me.
Study, use, quote, whatever. Use, misuse, do I care?. No! it’s on you. But, it’s free.

Dear Kent, in reply to your query above… we’ve all been victims and we’ve all been perpetrators at one time or another in our long histories here on planet earth, and beyond, however, truth is always here in this moment and the choice to remain victim, perpetrator or detached and impartial vehicle for truth – for that’s where we’re all heading – is ever in front of us. Your presence here has been an enriching one, and so I repeat what I put to reante in the last Cafe, consider staying b/c of what you have to offer ( I for one, as an artist, always appreciate your visual art contributions for example ), as opposed to what might be considered a personal affront. ( I do not know if there is ‘an affront’, I am not up on details, I am simply making the case for your staying )… Best, D.
I was visiting the US Debt Clock website when I saw a list of some other countries’ debts, GDPs, and their ratios. One thing I noticed was the listed GDPs of certain European countries plus Australia, Canada and Mexico decreasing with their debt inversely increasing. What’s going on in those countries?
Years ago I dug around in the CIA’s World Factbook: excellent collection of data. I was looking for correlations in my hunch that ALL countries go from a positive trade balance to a negative one based on energy consumption. It was clearly proven by the data. You can see countries rise and fall as their populations go from being engaged in the hustle and then becoming more consumers, consumer of energy being key. Demographics show aging populations. Energy use goes up. Debt goes up. The correlations are striking. Look at the CIA’s data and you’ll likely see WHY.

And the Mexican president has apologized to the indigenous for abuses during Spanish conquest. This is very interesting as he says the Spanish monarchy and Roman Catholic Church should formally apologize for the atrocities committed during the conquest.
And he takes an overall aim at the still existent colonialization. “The conquest and colonization are signs of backwardness, not of civilization, less of justice,”

Anyone betting as to when the Taliban takes Kabul?
I would think Kabul will fall soon. Russia says no. Zamir Kabulov told TASS on Friday the Russians are not evacuating their embassy, the Americans are leaving skid marks. What do the Russians know? I was surprised by Kabulov’s statement the situation is getting worse by the minute.
“No, it’s not being considered,” he said.
According to him, the Taliban has no opportunities to capture Kabul “in the foreseeable future.”
Evacuation of Russian Embassy in Kabul not considered, envoy says

MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. The issue of the evacuation of the Russian Embassy in Kabul due to the Taliban (outlawed in Russia) taking over Afghanistan’s largest cities of Kandahar and Herat is not being considered, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan and Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asian Department Zamir Kabulov told TASS on Friday.
“No, it’s not being considered,” he said.
According to him, the Taliban has no opportunities to capture Kabul “in the foreseeable future.”
Afghanistan’s security situation deteriorated significantly in April after US President Joe Biden announced that the American armed forces’ operation there which became the US’ longest foreign military campaign was coming to an end. Against this background, the Taliban has been stepping up the pace of its offensive in several directions. According to the data from several open sources as well as the claims of the Taliban itself, the radicals are controlling from 60% to 85% of the country’s territory, including the areas along the border with five countries: Iran, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
On Thursday, the Taliban announced the capture of a number of Afghanistan’s largest cities, including Kandahar and Herat.
On February 14, 2003, the Russian Supreme Court declared the Taliban to be a terrorist organization. The extremist organization’s activities are outlawed nationwide.

Reports: US embassy in Kabul tells staff to destroy sensitive documents
Friday, 13 August 2021 10:54 PM [ Last Update: Friday, 13 August 2021 11:52 PM ]
The US embassy in Kabul on Friday directed its staff to destroy sensitive documents and computers as well as other material.
The US embassy in Afghanistan’s capital has directed its staff to destroy sensitive documents and computers as well as other material that could be used against the United States, according to American media outlets.
The directive was given in a memo written for staff at the US embassy in Kabul and shared with NPR on the condition of anonymity.
The memo called on diplomats to destroy computers and other sensitive documents before they leave, as well as items featuring the American flag, embassy logos, and other articles that “could be misused in propaganda efforts,” CNN reported.
The memo comes as the Taliban are reportedly preparing to attack Kabul. It also comes one day after the Pentagon announced it was deploying 3,000 American troops to Afghanistan to evacuate most of the embassy personnel from Kabul, leaving only “a core diplomatic presence” in the country.
“No, it’s not being considered,” he said.
According to him, the Taliban has no opportunities to capture Kabul “in the foreseeable future.”
No one inc the Russians foresaw the blitz that ensued in a week. Nevertheless, I don’t think the Russian embassy staff have much to fear. They are not paranoid as the majority of Natoo nations are who are destroying their dirty secrets and contacts. The talibs have spoken with the Russians openly for some time. The Russians will have rec’d assurances of their safety. Clearly, the Russians have faith in those assurances.
Yes and a faith buttressed by the fact that the Russians have military bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
These bases were apparently offered to the US for certain use. Has the US
under the present circumstances changed its mind? Russia knows to be extremely careful in letting the US into the stans. This would be like changing your diet to only foods known to cause cancer.
Kremlin remains mum on reports Russia ‘offered use’ of Central Asia bases to US
At the same time, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden had discussed the situation in Afghanistan in relation to the US troop withdrawal at their meeting in Geneva on June 16
MOSCOW, July 19. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has refused to confirm or deny media reports that Moscow offered the use of its military bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Washington in order to jointly control the situation in Afghanistan.
“I can neither confirm nor deny this,” Peskov told reporters on Monday.
At the same time, he confirmed that Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Joe Biden of the United States had discussed the situation in Afghanistan in relation to the US troop withdrawal at their meeting in Geneva on June 16. “The issue of Afghanistan, the US troop pullout and rising instability in the country were indeed touched upon at the Geneva summit,” Peskov noted.
Russia’s Kommersant daily reported earlier, citing sources, that in Geneva, Russia had suggested that Moscow and Washington should coordinate their activities on the Afghan track and could use the Russian military bases in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan for practical purposes.

it’s rumoured that in a recent (yesterday, i believe) Q&A lavrov said that the taliban was requesting discussion @ the UNSC & that they were waiting for that.
I don’t think the Taliban will go into Kabul until all the USAmericans, Brits and Canucks have safely slipped out the back door, having first destroyed the incriminating evidence.

Many of us range around the internet seeking reliable sources of information.
We came a across a certain “richplanetTV”.
While the big media groups flounder around as audiences loose faith, the “citizen journalists” are meeting the demand.

It’s true, the ordinary working citizens, they become journalists out of deep interest and suffering, and have no time for lies, personal gain, money or prestige but to tell the world about what is happening in their country.
If you look at the photographs of the Afghan women, they are proud, clean and beautifully dressed, not for the photography session but their inbuilt tradition. Similarly as it happens, with the kulaks of the Ukraine, for hundreds of years, before ‘Papa’ Stalin’s collectivization years, the women were proud, kind, clean and beautifully dressed in the simplest, most basic living situations that would be felt as extremely harsh to us.
With a wink to Per, who among others is so kind to fill our RSS News Feed with remarkable articles.
And also for anyone who has never heard of them. Two blokes who seem to have taken a break from a hacker’s cafe, accompanied by a singing nordic nymph, with electronic music in which sometimes you can hear the landscape of where they come from. They are from Tromsö, Norway.

Yes, Bill Bourne and Lester Quitzau live on the Praries where I live. Madagascar Slim is an immigrant from Africa. They are good examples of very talented musicians who never really hit the ‘big time’ for various reasons and most people have never heard of them. Maybe not the right connections being the main one… Right before the lockdown they put on an amazing show within walking distance from my house. A longer than usual standing ovation at the end.
Bill Bourne did his take last year on the covid-19. ‘Hunker Down’

siljan, right under my nose, should they ever pass through Winterpeg, (one of them played the Folk Fest a few years back) I’ll be sure to have them on my must see list. Hopefully not a double vaxxed venue as many seem to be now.
That blues tune piqued my interest, within minutes my wife had Lets Play blasting on the new Blue Tooth speaker, yeah, there is room for modern gadgets.
We held an impromptu Tri Continental concert right there on the deck, rocked the hood, hmm woods, well, mostly dear and bear, but I’m sure they were weaving through the bush. Not sure what the neighbours thought.
When I heard the first four bars, my brain started screaming Ali Farka, Ali Farka, Ali Farka, that Pan African World Beat, the music, and pure musicianship of the players, had a few hair standing moments. I love music that screams ‘play me loud……no, louder’ so much going on on the frets……….amazing, thank you for the introduction.
Cheers, M

The AC130 gunships are ready they will be backed up by MQ9 Reaper drones as well as B52 bombers & F18s to strike Taliban and boost Afghanistan security forces.
AC-130s & MQ-9s will be carrying out the majority of the strikes
I had posted something on the previous cafe wondering about the whereabouts of the gunships. I completely missed the magnituide of the operation. So yes the US was waiting.
KC-135RTs have been deployed to keep the gunships on station longer. This will be a continual line of refueling like never seen before enabling thousands to be evacuated.
Use this link for a comprehensive picture of what is being tried.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/41988/shadowy-kc-135rt-special-ops-tankers-head-toward-afghanistan-as-evacuation-airbridge-forms
KC-135RT’s have an interesting past. They were originally KC-135A’s ( Water wagons) that had the booms removed to make them KC-135R’s (reconnaissance). That is when the refueling receptacles were added for very long missions. When that mission moved to other airplanes the booms were reinstalled and the planes returned to basic tanker missions.
Then the ’79 Iran crisis came and the planes were needed for long range refueling of the newly refuellable C-130’s. The planes were collected from several SAC bases and special crews were trained for the hostage rescue mission in Iran.
The tanker crew members at the time nick named these birds: “Kristines”…. because they went both ways. I bet that designation disappeared.
That should have been “RC-135’s” not KC-135Rs>
I see no evidence that anyone is trying to stop the Kabul embassies being evacuated, in fact, the opposite. The Taliban are holding back and allowing those nations who wish to evacuate to do so. Turkey is also leaving. Russia is staying.
Yeah. From #Kabul to #Uzbekistan, question is, who’s on it….

On Canada
I’m past my biblical “best before date” (three score and ten) and when told by a young man in Fernie’s (bc) airport district a few years ago to “act my age” the admonition seemed to percolate in my mind. Since old people flatter themselves that others think age and memory are meaningful, I offer four suggestions for Canada and Canadians before I depart for the great beyond.
1. To everyone with the gift of faith or belief: idolize which ever prince of the spirit with whom you are in love, but acknowledge the most high, he by whom you were created and to whom you will return. Faith in the most high is virtually extinct in the cultural west which seems incapable of belief in either Alexander of Macedonia or Jesus of Nazareth .
Canada, being a vassal of empire, will have to assimilate many more true believers than heretofore due to the changed geopolitical paradigm. Only the most high can make peace between true believers who are wont to be fanatics.
2. Canada, in accepting the many immigrants from the failing states of empire’s late adventures will have to mould them into a cohesive country, and while English , as an example, is easy to learn to speak, it is complete chaos for non native readers due to its having no rational method of spelling. This leaves many non native and even native English speakers at a real disadvantage to those who have learned spelling from memory. This is important in order to maximize the human resources Canada needs. A rational, simplified English orthography (way of writing) is needed as the ability to communicate in writing in the predominant language tends to differentially maintain existent hierarchy.
An English orthography created by Dmitry Orlov is perfect. The inventor is a trained linguist and a software engineer. It can be read by touch, can be entered by keypad using stroke recognition software; supports legacy devices. In the words of Orlov: “ Unspell tries to adhere to the following simple rules:
1. And English word is a sequence of phonemes, not a sequence of letters
2. There is exactly one way to write a word: based on how it is pronounced; and
3. There is exactly one way to pronounce a word: based on how it is written.”
It is analogous to Korea’s Hangul alphabet ascribed to King Sejong but is different in appearance and has many features making it efficient and potentially powerful.
3. People with an interest in what used to be called political economy should go back to reading classical economics, at least as far back as uncle Karl—-and then forward. Marx’s three volumes of Capital and three volumes of Theories of Surplus Value seem essential. There’s a good reason the communists made a god of him and never read beyond the first volume while Wall Street hired mainly Marxist economists back in the sixties. You having an eye to see, who won the class war in “the west”? There’s no doubt its economy is planned, it’s just not government doing it. Uncle Karl had more faith in capitalism than people give him credit for—-he just thought capitalism would evolve further, being a philosopher somewhat like Darwin.
The battle today is between industrial or organic capitalism (which necessarily implies sovereign and national direction) with neofeudalism which is global finance capitalism. If it is subservient to anyone, it is subservient to empire. It holds all “western” governments hostage. However, industrial or organic capitalism is hanging on in the east, at least in the “axis of iniquity”.
And 4: Canada needs a “heavy lift service”. Canada is one of the most riverine of countries . It has vast areas of tundra, huge inland seas. The northern islands give it a coast line longer than most countries and the north is opening to its inhabitants in new and dangerous ways. The land is so vast that a craft must be able to carry heavy loads and use minimal infrastructure to be economically successful. It should be more fuel efficient than aircraft and faster than ship. The wing-in-ground-effect vehicle built large has real potential here.
Anyone who has flown knows “by feel” what ground effect is. In essence, a wing flying quite close to the ground has more lift and less drag than in free flight. An issue is that it takes 2.7 times as much power to get the craft up to plane as it does to cruise in plane (ground effect). Consequently craft have been overpowered or used mechanical, moving lift aids or diverters to help get off.
Of paramount importance also is longitudinal stability at relatively high speeds close to the surface as well as design of fuselage and wings to maximize capacity.
My bias is that I think people interested in this problem should start with the final design of Paul and Joe Rice’s Aircat 2.5. Boeing engineers, they tested a lot of fuselage, wing , and lifting aid designs. The final design was based on a WIG craft invented by Chuck Bixel, an old U.S. Navy seaplane jockey. Paul and Joe invented a completely “solid state” lifting device that is not mechanical, is simple (in operation), and works. “It cuts take off length by 80 percent and all power is usable.”
Mr. Bixel, in his patents says “The Double Wing WIG designs have wing areas five to ten times larger than standard aircraft of the same hull length…with up to ten times the weight and cargo capacity of similar length aircraft.”
Canada has had, and continues to have, great sailors and aviators. This is just a natural for them. And Canada needs to move forward on its own. It needs its own dreams, its own aspirations, its own way of life; realized in concert with others, but sovereign and independent, able to think for herself, not just slavishly following her neighbour to the south or dancing to the tune of current political correctness .
“That’s just my two cents worth” as my dad might have said.
Brother Blue Iconoclast
Brother Blue, what can I say. The Canada you speak of ain’t the one I live in. Captive of Empire. Slaved Whore. Can’t move on. Adheres to treaties giving foreign governments control over resources and economics, see: Mexico. A country owned by The Queen and governed by………..a ‘queen’. Canada’s chance at sovereignty died with Riel. When Canada has a ‘First Nations’ ‘full blood’ Prime Minister, one might get to have that discussion, ‘Is Canada Sovereign”. Sadly, sitting on the sidelines watching a junky slowly kill themselves on the alter of Mammon.

What a breath of fresh, something entirely different at the café, meaning idealism, ideas. However I don’t entirely agree with your philosophy, for want of a better word, on English spelling, It has it’s own rational, the language is packed with nuances and that’s reflected in the written word and is far from arbitrary. Not only that, but the spelling lends itself to changes over long periods.
I do get the need though, but formalization may restrict the spirit. People talk about the spirit of place, I’m talking about language in this way, it’s alive.
The low flying aircraft, funnily enough I was just reading about that a couple of hours ago for the first time, and on another site. Well, well, small world, Great to get another perspective of Canada, thanks, I never was there but know it from writers and journalists. Are you planning on departing, if so by what means will you travel ?

I wrote a letter to the editors of several news papers, local and national. About the increase in certain blood tests being requested for young adults. Health Canada has just updated their info on side….posted in jibberjabbar.
Also a companion piece to amarynth’s video interview with Dr vanden Bosche can be found there
And a bit about RICO form Dr Martin….most definitely drifting out onto uncharted waters.

Kent,
Awesome powerful blues, Bonamassa at his best
Let’s have some fun while we are waiting.
Why not launch our most lethal ballistic missile now? And get it over with.

Not admissible character (lot’s of them actually), but lets just settle on this very well known entity.

Farewell to you all, think no evil of me, t’was all a dream and we will awake and see at last, God speed! Go well !
I would never think evil of you, tup. Don’t tell me you’re doing the runner as well?
There is really no where for these people to go, I think 1/2 of them are victims of the economy, the other 1/2 I’m not so certain of.

This website could be appear to be a little “upmarket” for some visitors.
We will have to wait until the media settles down a little.

All the best Tuppence. If you want my email perhaps Amarynth could be kind enough to give you.
colour me confused tuppence, there are more topics, world events. slayed hegemons, and just life in general, to discuss, you leave because we can’t discuss ‘the thingy’ and it’s collateral fallout? Even in real world ‘cafes’ people agree to disagree, and drop the subject. I for one feel that the discussion here is so close to the truth…….some people may be scared of the light peeking through the slats.
banned from the cafe…..talks of nukes real or not
banned from the cafe…..talks on climate changes
banned from the cafe…..talks on ‘the thingy’…..but still made room to discuss/share critical info
more things will arise, some will get banned………shit happens, it’s not life or death, nothing ‘hurt’ but feelings, only sticks and stones are to be feared………
Cheers, M
‘hurt’: for me, an irrelivant leprechaun, getting to come here, (look around the net), scarce places, it’s a privilege. No one asks for my input, none should feel it’s required, words are like seeds, some word farmers toil in abject obscurity…….each must choose, mind you, word crops sometime take years to blossom.
Read the intro please to the moveable cafe`, and tell me if true or not.
Thruth and honesty is above all IMO.
Gordian knot can only be «resolved» by the initiatiator/constructor, and time is running out
Like water from a leaking pool.

Sincere thank you for comments. I will visit now and again, and am not on the run anywhere, and am not leaving because of banned topics, though these are bad enough, but for other reasons connected to the café that are no longer sufferable for me.
