For all who know him, Auslander sends regards today.
He phoned me from his hospital in Crimea and we spoke for half-hour. He’s recovering from Covid. Should be a few more weeks of treatment. He’s on the mend.
He wanted me to pass on to all his loyal readers, fans and book buyers that he is doing okay, regaining strength and will be back in action in a short while.
I will post in subsequent days whenever he contacts me.
Meanwhile, he deeply appreciates the prayers in support of his health battles.
Send him best regards from me, too! His books gave me the first insights into modern Russia.
I am sure I join many others in praying that he is comfortable and on the road to a strong recovery. Thank you for the update.
In other news, from my small town rural part of the UK : The blue & yellow flags flying from private homes have all but vanished. The propaganda is not working & from interactions with normal, regular people, the false flags have backfired. Many are doing a bit of research and realising that sadly 2014 did not turn Ukraine into a ‘fledgeling democracy’ & that in fact it has since been looted to the extent of being turned into a failed state.
More than 2 people said to me today that they fear our governments intentions & their reaction to the public expression of anger they expect by Autumn (if not before) as food prices catch up with energy price rises. The attempted distraction with Downing Street party’s during lockdown for the masses is not diverting many from their growing sense of unease that we have a mendacious government in office.
I do not think the tone of Russiaphobia still prevelant on social media is remotely representative of the views held in private by the population in general. In some quaters there is a quietly growing admiration.
Man, if someone could just divert a few of those smart munitions…and return them to the sender…😇

I also read somewhere this week in the Saker blog that the US special ops Command (USSOC) composed of Seals and Delta forces were being run by the neocons outside the CIA and Pentagon. Perhaps there are more fractures in the Western Deep State than we perceive.
I would be willing to bet a small amount that all this ends with a military coup in Washington. Wouldn’t that be an ironic play of karma, a regime change boomerang.

I visited the Finnish National Museum of History in Helsinki a few years back and was astonished to see the degree to which Finland had sided with the Nazis before and during WW2. I wrote a short review in TripAdvisor on this but all mention of this was disallowed.
Stating the obvious, there are many problems with history as it is taught. It is more often than not the fake news of the day and official narrative of the winning side that is consecrated as “history”.

Writing at 01.00hrs gmt 14 April, so things may have changed by the time this gets posted, but reports reaching the UK claim that Ukraine has launched a number of Neptune Anti-Ship missiles at the Russian Black Sea fleet blockading Odessa.
UK press reporting that “Twitter Accounts” in Odessa are talking about at least Russian Warship hit. The name “Moskava” has appeared x3 times as having been hit.
Anyone know if Ukraine has launched any anti-ship missiles in the last few hours, and / or reports of Russian ships being targeted / hit?

Just had a look at Southfront and they too are reporting that the Flag Ship of the Black Sea fleet – the Moskva – suffered an attack.
All hands abandoning ship.
A naval expert on another blog has mentioned that although a missile strike is possible, it is more likely that the ship has been hit by a free-floating sea mine.
As it was the flag ship that was hit the naval expert also offered “a very outside possibility” – NATO special forces such as SEALS or SBS deployed or guided to the ship an explosive device on behalf of Ukraine.
Due to the critical nature of Odessa to NATO, and the triangulation acheivable from Romania and Ukraine for targeting purposes, it cannot be discounted that this was joint Ukrainian / NATO attack against the Russian flag ship to make a serious military and political point.
I expect further details will emerge in the hours ahead.

What value does poetry – or indeed any of the arts – have, in a world gone mad? I’m sure that
most of us would agree that the world appears to be insane. But behind apparent appearances
is a struggle set into motion by humanity itself which is playing out moment to moment, day to
day, year to year not only on the external but also, the internal canvas, ie; not only on a global
scale involving humanity as a whole, but also within the inner recesses of every individual. This
struggle or confrontation centres on the desperate effort of the mind to gain power at any cost
( in the belief that power alone buys freedom ), and thus usurp the forces of love, which are
embodied and expressed in all that is good, holy and eternal in every human being, creature
or entity.
The forces of power constrict, condemn and enslave the individual to then uphold the tenets he
has imposed and this eventually becomes his undoing, for none can remain in power forever.
Man, or more specifically, Soul, having endured the endless passing of the seasons over the
rim of time, one day awakens to find that a new world awaits and that he, himself, has access
to this mysterious world. He must, however, find the key within and make the necessary sacrifice,
being everything that he once believed in to be true ( his inner possessions or attachments )
must be surrendered entirely to this benevolence within.
Awaiting him is the Master Principle, inviting him to cooperate, to understand the results of, and
therefore ajust, his own actions for the best possible outcomes. This relationship, between the
individual Soul and the Master principle, eventually leads the individual to grace. The Master
Principle is a subject in its own right, but is best exemplified by Rumi’s term, “the Friend”. That is,
no living being is without access to this Master Principle, for it is as close to us as our heartbeat,
but is and/or will be perceived and/or personified differently among individual Souls. The Master
Principle, which is nothing more or less than the personalised expression of Divine Spirit that
speaks directly to the innermost part of each individual, is closely tied to the third force, not yet
explored by science being the neutral or detached force, in addition to positive and negative
and without which neither positive/negative, good/evil, darkness/light etc. could exist.
And what may this force be? I think of it as a pure detached love for all of life. One accesses this
love by transcending the apparent dichotomies of life. Doing so, leads to poetry. Insofar as my
understanding of the term, being the easy co-habitation of all universes, that is, we occupy both
realities, the inner fluid world, and an outer, hardened or solidified reality which is much harder to
alter, but nevertheless, also responds to our will, or imagination, whichever. Thus I would say that
poetry, broadly speaking, is another term for divine love. And being in a state of poetry leads to
expressions of that harmony, ie; words, rhythms, melodies, forms that house these little contemplative
gems. Without which we would be in a harsher much less inviting world. So, in my estimation, the
value of good poetry is that it assists in being able to move us out of our hardened worlds and/or
mindsets, and thus stir, for a moment, the creative imagination to the possibility of hidden worlds
and the intuitive knowing that they are a mere breath away, and therefor accessable.
I invite you, the poet within, to post your efforts here, in order that we continue our little oasis of
poetry here at saker’s vineyard, and thus offer a moment’s respite, to all those weary of this end-
lessly warring and fickle world.

having listened to it, they ask,

But the problem with poetry

As you’ve noted Sudhi, it is difficult but it’s like a muscle which, if trained becomes
stronger and more responsive. It’s a state of consciousness in fact, which one is
constantly on the lookout for in terms of finding the right ‘entry point’ on a subject.
When this is found, we often enter a flow that quickens the process and lifts it from
mere effort to an uplifting and energising experience.

To find that something that’s endlessly new!

One cold and wintry morning
While walking out the door,
I noticed a poet’s journal
Lying on the floor.
Embellished with a rearing horse,
In finest leather bound,

A compendium of cat tales,

Elephants and reindeers
And a smattering of dog.
The quaintest clutch of fables,

From the pile-up of love affairs,

I just learned about the climate change, huge flooding and such in South Africa and all i have to ask is just a coincidence that a mere 9 months ago Zwa Zula Natal was rocked by violence, looting, and destruction that burned down practically the entire place we now see this? But O its industrial pollution that is the cause not the pollution of sin that has caused such widespread violence destruction? So what is it industrial pollution or what goes around comes around as per:

There is a pattern to what is occurring with climate change. and unlike all the lies fed us for centuries God can in fact be observed to exist after all. Faith is not blind.
Wild weather here in Australia on the eastern seaboard. Floods at never before
seen levels. I was caught in a flooded region for about a week, a month ago, it
was truly surreal. Many people’s homes and livelihoods wiped out completely.
Spring crept in here, a little heat during the day, still below freezing at night. A slow melt we call it, water seeps into the ground rather than run off, farmers love it, the fields were clearing…..hopes were rising….but after a two day snowmagedon, slogging through 10inches of heavy wet snow this morning, even the dog has to do a hop like gate to get through it.

if I am not mistake, “Moskva” was refitted not long ago; S-300F, OSA-MA and AK-630 and other countermeasures. Despite all that, british Neptune missile scored a significant achievement. Any comments ? I am getting worry, the new arms are now flooding Ukraine.
From what I read on Tass it’s not confirmed what hit the ship. There was a fire, but they do not confirm how the fire started. Luckily crew managed to evacuate..
“As a result of a fire on the missile cruiser “Moscow” detonated ammunition. The ship received serious damage. The crew was fully evacuated,” the military department said. The ministry reported that the causes of the fire are being investigated.”

The only thing which is known at this stage is that Russia’s MoD confirmed fire and detonation of the ammo, which, in this case means only the cellar with 130-mm shells for the nose dual gun AK-130. As any ammo cellar Moskva’s is “wrapped” in armored shell. Project 1164 standard 16 anti-shipping missiles Vulkan are stored in separate armored containers located in groups of 2 x 4 on each side of the ship and they cannot “detonate” that easily. Nor can detonate with catastrophic consequences S-300 Fort AD missiles which are also stored in revolver type containers.
Understandably 404 side immediately tried to assign the “credit” to itself and its Neptun missiles, which are nothing more than subsonic iteration of venerable Russian X-35 Uran. Good point. I was hesitant to initially point out that it was completely unsubstantiated that any old subsonic Soviet missile had anything to do with it. The Ukies were quick to claim ownership of this strike. Was it even a strike? Were they deflecting attention from the real saboteurs?
After 7 weeks, and like the US government, we can safely assume if the Ukies speak it is a lie until proven otherwise.. much remains murky as earlier with the troop carriers that also caught fire. Sadly, this very serious and desperate situation (that clearly has little to do with Covid as the authorities claim) only really got the attention of the general public when the Chinese authorities started clubbing pet dogs to death and taking pet cats from appartments.
There are several videos showing pet dogs being clubed and even stabed with a pole, with Fox news US showing a “Corgi” (The Queens favorite dog) being beaten with a shovel. Fox also showed rubbish bags filled with live cats left on the street waiting for disposal.
It is a sign of the times when most people really could not care any less about Human suffering, but are outraged when a dog is killed or a cat is put in a bag.
Maybe this needs to cometo the West – perhaps people having thier cats and dogs killed in front of them by “authorities” will wake them up to the tyranny that now surrounds them.

One thing that piqued my interest in Mexico was learning of the popularity of Japanese anime in Latin America, Mexico being no exception. Unlike in the US, this would be to a degree where certain shows either:

Up until a few days ago I saw similarities between the Eastern Ukraine line of battle and Normandy ww2, in that it took approx 90 days of intense fighting until the Allied breakout from Normandy, followed by a rapid expansion west, south, and ultimately, east. But the influx of weaponry and likely presence of Nato personnel gives me pause. I’m concerned at the opportunity cost of Russia’s care not to hurt the Russian-Speaking population; however, Mariupol ended up being house-to-house (leaving aside the special circumstances of the factories) and there is widespread damage.
Is there any logic for an assault on Odessa to mirror the US-style of shock and awe, followed by an all-out deployment of a score of recons-in-force, and preceded by a call for civilians to evacuate, no matter how unlikely they’ll be allowed to do so? In military terms, the delay in Hitler’s assault on Kursk allowed Stalin to vastly improve his lines of defense. With the West supplying heavy weapons—and inevitably deadlier, newer systems—I fear that Russia, and the people it is trying to save, will pay dearly. They will kill with kindness.

They quote from SCMP. Nobody that is serious about China, read the South China Morning Post. I sometimes get economic stats from there, but I check it 16 times.
The Chinese people living in Shanghai report fatigue which is really not surprising, but generally still keeping spirits up. The reports are that they have to keep this to Shanghai instead of letting the infection run riot in more areas. The biggest reaction this morning, is that they started too late.
The last sentence in that Zerohedge hodgepoge, made me laugh. Shanghai is a city. The city is locked down now in certain areas only while others are opening. So, the last sentence is that the new easing measures won’t help to grow crops.
Please let me know how many crops are being grown in the City of Shanghai.
