I did read carefully: he broadcasted the reports of Lira’s capture, torture, and death and, in that final sentence, he speaks of him in past tense. He thinks he’s dead and says so. In addition, Lira mentioned that he’s a marked man and said he’d keep in touch every 12 hours or so, which hasn’t happened since Friday. Sorry, but maybe it’s time to prepare yourself for the worst.

I’ve been thinking of Mexico as an alternative in situations where travel to Russia becomes more difficult. (Not that I’m giving up on Russia just yet.)
For an American myself, even without the COVID-19 pandemic, obvious benefits would include the metric system, affordable healthcare and paid maternity leave.
* Mexico doesn’t monopolize the name of the landmass it’s on, unlike the USA.
* Banknotes of any given currency not named the US dollar come in different colors, making it easier to tell each denomination apart especially for sight-impaired people. The Mexican peso and Russian ruble are no exceptions.
* In Spanish, like in Russian and unlike in English, words are pronounced the way they are spelled, so what you see is what you get (no BS like “I before E except after C”).
However, with Mexico having entered my radar relatively recently (i.e. less than a year ago), I do have a few concerns:
* GMOs are labeled if not restricted/banned in Russia, unlike in Mexico. Why hasn’t Mexico begun labeling GMOs yet?
* Soft drinks sold in Russia, as with the rest of Europe, use cane sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. “Mexican Coke”, previously known for its lack of HFCS, ended up switching to HFCS some years back. How frequently is HFCS used in Mexican soft drinks compared to USian ones?
* Russia’s public transport is said to be better than the USA’s (assuming the USA even has it in the first place). With Mexico being a ‘New World’ nation, what’s the public transport there like? How well can one get around an average Mexican city/town (e.g. buy groceries) without a car? How much of it is bike-friendly?
* I’ve seen complaints about news media in the US being owned by billion-dollar corporations that makes Russian news media look more reliable. Does a similar situation exist in Mexico? And what’s the integrity of Mexico’s state broadcaster?
* Russian laws are such that LGBT pride parades are illegal, and so is any presentation of LGBT relationships in children’s media. Is it different in Mexico?
* Marijuana has been illegal in Russia for some time. Is it still illegal in Russia? What is the legal status in Mexico?
* Are elections free and fair like in Russia, or are politicians hand-picked like in the US, Canada and Europe?

PANAGYURISHTE, ($1=1.81 Bulgarian Levs) — The British Guardian claims that through Iranian arms smuggling networks, Tehran is supplying Moscow with RPGs, Brazilian missiles, and the Iranian-made Bavar 373 anti-aircraft missile system. The Guardian cites information from regional intelligence services, including Iraqi militias.
Iran’s Bavar 373 air defense system is based on the Russian S-300. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and many years of arms embargoes in the West, Tehran has found an ally and friend in Moscow. Together with Armenia, the three countries form the so-called Caucasian wasp. Although the Iranian military uses mostly local military hardware, Tehran continues to buy some Russian weapons systems.
In 2011, Tehran built the first working prototype of the Bavar 373. Years of testing and adjustments followed. Thus, in 2019, the complete and fully operational air defense system Bavar 373 was presented to the general public. In 2020, the Iranians used the Bavar 373 for the first time during a military exercise.
Given that one of the pillars of the Russian defense industry is the production of anti-aircraft missile systems, it is hard to imagine that Moscow is experiencing difficulties in this area. Therefore, it is quite logical to assume that Russia has an agreement with Iran to test the Bavar 373 in real combat conditions.
Of course, the battlefield of Ukraine is more appropriate for Iran than that of Syria. First, we have two warring parties, while in Syria, Israeli F-16s and F-35s often have to launch missile strikes on Iranian targets near Damascus. Understandably, Tehran wants to raise Bavar 373 in conditions where the skies over Ukraine are controlled by Russia and the only targets for interception by the Iranian system are Ukrainian missiles.

According to the technical data and characteristics provided, the Bavar-373 is an air-to-ground missile system with a long-range. The system has two missile silos, each loaded with the Iranian Sayyad-4 missile, which flies approximately 27 km. height and has a range of about 300 km. According to Iranian experts, the missile system serves not only to intercept aircraft but also to destroy ballistic missiles. From the information provided, it is clear that the entire anti-aircraft missile system is built and propelled by an 8×8 truck, with the missile silos mounted in the rear axle of the vehicle.
Iran unveiled the Bavar-373 missile systems [AD-200 is supposed to be the export version of Bavaria-373] on October 22, 2020 during the Modafean Aseman Velayat 99 exercise. According to Iranian military engineers, the new Iranian system is in operation since last year can be compared in terms of features and functionality with those of the Russian Federation – S-300 and S-400.
The Modafean Aseman Velayat 99 is a military exercise taking place in Iran and involves almost all units of the Islamic Republic’s air defense forces, as well as parts of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC]. It is characteristic of the exercise that it is held in half of the country, which makes it a really large-scale and nationwide exercise.
Even though everyone keeps trying to not find evidence of voter fraud in 2020,(especially the democrats) the evidence actually is pointing to it, particularly in GA and states that used windows 7 as their voting operating system.

I always get frustrated with cornbread as I don’t seem to have the hands for it – it should be so simple! And then they tell me to add a little wheat flour or sugar or something else. That is not the idea, so now, this one is nice and simple and this is the one I’ll try next. I can imagine it with butter, a slice of cheese with a little honey drizzled over.
Interesting in the potato bread vid, he mentions how 18th century labourers survived on a diet of bread and beer. Egyptian labourers building the Pyramids survived on bread and mead, ‘if it ain’t broken…..’
An Irish breakfast staple which goes with bacon and eggs and a great way to use up left over mashed potatoes is the Potato Farrel.
Cold leftover mash.
Pinch or two of salt.
Mixing by hand add flour
gradually to the mash until it forms a dough. Not too sticky. On a floured surface form the dough into a log shape. Cut into 1″ slabs.
Roll the slabs out making a patty about 1/4″ thick. Cook the patties in a med hot fry pan. Just flour the pan and toast the Farrel till it’s mottled light brown. They can be eaten plain, toasted with HP n butter…..or for the authentic Belfast touch, fry the Farrel in the bacon fat. Best eaten with bacon and eggs easy over. Decadent, but a man’s gotta live.

We eat that too .. but not rolled into a log, just made into patties by hand. I don’t think we have a name for it – just fried potato cakes. A real nice addition to breakfast. I do this with left over pumpkin as well .. same method – pumpkin cakes – love ’em with a little cinnamon sprinkled on!
